1126  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Yet another few questions, on: 2006 January 01, 14:19:39
Yeah I was about to reply that it would clash with all sorts of things like that, which is why I didn't put it online in the first place.  I edited the BCONs you see, and they probably affect all sorts of other hacks.   I actually don't use a great many global hacks in my game, particularly the larger ones such as insimenator, so it makes it easy for me just to make the occasional BCON adjustment for my personal preferences.

All it does is change the -3's to -1's so the actual rate of decay is slower.   If anyone wants it and understands its potential for clashing, email me and I'll send it to you.  I don't fancy supporting it if I put it on my site, that's all Smiley

*sigh* considering the large number of hacks I currently use...I better pass  *laughs*

(I don't use "enemiesaccumulate" since I do want them to become friends again)
1127  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Yet another few questions, on: 2006 January 01, 12:35:47
I've made myself a patch that reduces the relationship decay globally.  That at least makes the length of time furious lasts a bit more in proportion.  I do like them being able to get furious, but not when it was so out of proportion to how long they can remember their friendships!

Oooooooooo are you sharing that little patch? *hopes*
1128  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Yet another few questions, on: 2006 January 01, 12:07:58
3)Simlogical... The Bush that makes all the stuff you have keep with you, How does it work, I mean where does the stuff reappear when you movE?

the stuff dosen't go anywhere, it stays in the house. normally when you move everything get removed from the house so if you move a family out and then back in you must redecorate

4) this is going to have an odd response but: Im thinking of buying Nightlife but because of the let down I had with Uni, (because he neighbourhood takes ages etc, and not being able to send your kids to uni and live tehre at the same time kind of thing) I just got bored there also wasnt a major lot of difference, so is it worth buying nightlife and what kind of things make it good?

I wasn't to sure about getting NL, Uni was ok but it didn't really add much to the everyday life of my sims. NL is totally different (IMHO anyway) I love it! Before NL my sims rarely went to Community Lots, now they go all the time and it's faster to get there because you can chose the exact community lot you wish to go to before you go anywhere so theres less loading time. I like that my sims homes no longer appear to be surrounded by nothing and although I didn't care about them having cars before...it is wonderful to not have to wait for the damn taxi or car pool.

I play with free will on and I like the fact that now I don't have to always pick who my sims will fall in love with. I like the fact that they will now flirt more often on their own even though I do have to pay more attention specially in the case of my romance sims, which brings me to the Furious state, I know some don't care for it but I love it, a sim should be pissed off if they catch their "love" cheatin  Grin  The "not fair" part about the Furious state is when a sim catchs their "love" rejecting a flirt from another sim, they still get pissed off as if their love did cheat, sadly I know some real people who were so jealous that they would react the same way so although it's "not fair" it is true to life *sigh*

Anyway, If I had to chose between Uni and NL then NL would certainly win without a seconds thought.

That must be the stair removal trick I haven't known about!!!  Dare I say, "thanks!".

your welcome   Cheesy

Its the only way I can delete stairs...I demolished alot of Lots before I figured it out *sigh*
1130  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Name your top 5 Must Haves.... on: 2005 December 31, 21:03:37
I would be more willing to remove downloaded custom clothes and custom hair and furniture recolors then any of the hacks/mods I use!

Most hacks/mods are small, it dosen't take much for them to load so I wouldn't give any of them up  Wink

I'd also keep custom makeup and my custom clothes!
1131  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Building Tutorials and/or Advice? on: 2005 December 31, 20:21:45
(I'm not clear on how to use the build tool to get rid of terrain paints <scuffle> <waits for point and laugh>).

the same way you apply it except you press an hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard while doing it *just recently figured that out*

side note: I think almost everything can be removed in build mode using the Ctrl key but in my game atleast if I'm deleting stairs I must first select "the same type" of stairs in the catalog.
1132  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Building Tutorials and/or Advice? on: 2005 December 31, 00:29:01
So if I want to create houses in the future w/o custom content, do I have to *start* with no custom content enabled ?

I just want to point out that "enabling or disabling custom content" dosen't do shit when you package up a house, some hacks/custom content will still get packaged up with it. The only way to be sure no hacks or any custom content gets packaged up with a Lot is to remove all hacks and custom content from your game before packing up the Lot

ie;

1, move downloads folder, load game, package Lot
or
2, create separate accounts on your computer, 1 "clean" one for building and 1 "with custom content" for playing

Homecrafter custom terrain is very bad, I hope one day Maxis fixes it *won't hold her breath*

I'll have to try this out! Thank you ever so much  Grin

I have a romance sim that still has a few other sims that are pissed off at her so I can have her apologize now an see how it works Smiley

/slightly off topic

On seeing those pics I've realized I must have a hack conflict somewhere cause "Groom" does not show up for me anymore! I had forgotten that option even existed *laughs*  Anyone have any clue what hack could be affecting it? if not then one of these days I'll have to figure out which of the (app.) 129 hacks I have are causing it  Roll Eyes
1134  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Requests? on: 2005 December 28, 00:46:20
Romance sims always make great parents in my n'hoods  Cheesy  If I let them keep their kids that is *laughs*  the idea for a orphanage caught my interest so now I must make one for all the unwanted kids (gotta love risky woohoo) that my romance sims didn't plan to have  Wink  *loves Inges teleporterplus shrub*

When I play I always get storylines going thru my head and right now I'm setting up a Mayor-wanna-be. His "dirty little secrets" won't be so secret when his bastards grow up (the romance sim moms will get "paid off" and the kids will be dropped (teleported) at the orphanage)  He will eventually become Mayor and will live really nice for awhile and then everyone will discover his whores an bastards, he will get fired and will age to elder badly Wink

I'm making an effort to use all the ASPs (except cheese so far) now, before I tended to stick to romance, knowledge and family. So far I'm enjoying them all but then I do have some of the "want hacks" so that curbs some of the more annoying wants  Wink

Last night I got a huge shock!  One of my female romance sims, actually rolled the want to get married! while on a date with another sim  Roll Eyes  (she was actually the date and not the "asker") Then she rolled the fear marriage want to That sim (of course) but Then she rolled the want to marry the sim she was on the date with! and she never rolled the fear marriage want for him! She didn't get her "wish" tho cause the sim that asked her on the date was my "mayor-wanna-be" and he had to marry a "good upstanding sim" and not some "dirty whore" that he had just gotten pregnant Wink
1135  TS2: Burnination / Taster's Choice / Re: Recolors for Baby Controller on: 2005 December 27, 10:13:04
Apparently that would be my problem too.  I have wondered about the extra plumbob in the birth cinematic.  I'm not removing either inge's or pescado's baby related things, though.  I can live with the second plumbob. :p

btw sleepycat, the kitty in your avatar looks exactly like my alpha kitty must have looked when he was a kitten.  So cute!

hmmm odd, maybe I should have investigated more  Tongue

*loves her avatar* I had a cat that looked just like it a very long time ago *laughs*

edit - I was going to go post in the nobabyharessment thread but decided to try and narrow this extra plumbob issue down more first
1136  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Car & Taxi problem after adding new family member (ex-Townie) on: 2005 December 26, 19:48:11
Did you happen to try buying a new car?
1137  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Big Fiery Ball Visible From Space on: 2005 December 26, 05:49:55
Uh, no I don't think it'll be any fun at to rebuild everything, since I was just starting to really get it all built up in the first place.

I recently restarted and I was putting off playing because after creating a sim or family, I would need to move them into a house and then build/furnish the house before I could do anything else...So I decided to make a low-cost home/partly furnished and just put a copy of it in the Lot bin and then reuse that house for my "poorer" section of the hood. It's worked out so well that I made another home/partly furnished on a bigger lot (it was hard to keep it under $20,000 on the bigger lot but I managed thankfully) for a "more well to do" section (aka middle class)

It's really working out well, each house has what is absolutely needed so I can move someone in and start playing them right away. I made sure both models would be easily expandable (I hate having to redo an entire house just to add another bedroom) and as my sims can afford it (more like "when I'm in the mood") their house gets bigger and/or more furniture etc...  Grin

Since I'm expanding as needed by family needs, the homes in use are already looking alot different then the original models (I make sure I don't add on the same way for each home) and I'm getting to actually play while rebuilding my n'hood.

Thought I would mention my solution to rebuilding, hope it atleast gives you some ideas for yours  Kiss
1138  TS2: Burnination / Taster's Choice / Re: Recolors for Baby Controller on: 2005 December 26, 05:06:29
Grin  I had the same problem only it was that hack...  hope you get it sorted out.

Thank you  Cheesy  I did get it sorted out this evening, I didn't pin down the exact cause but it's fixed so I'm happy *laughs*

sadly it appears to involve JMs baby hacks and Inges, so for now I'm going to use Inges until I feel up to pinning down the exact files that don't play nice together.
1139  TS2: Burnination / Taster's Choice / Re: Recolors for Baby Controller on: 2005 December 25, 23:03:34
Sleepycat, do you have the alien preggers for both genders?  if so the extra animation package for female pregancies will cause the second plumbob in the birthing movies.

no I don't have it, Thankfully I have all my hacks divided into subfolders by creator so if it comes to it I can try removing by subfolder to narrow it down, first tho I need to get another sim pregnant so I can save right before birth an reload the game as needed to test.  The extra plumbob in the birth scenes dosen't seem to be hurting anything, it just bugs me *laughs*  (If I can't sort it out soon I'll bring it up in the podium)
1140  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Big Fiery Ball Visible From Space on: 2005 December 25, 13:01:47
It's hard when you lose a neighborhood/sims that your attached to, I'm sorry about your loss  Cry
1141  TS2: Burnination / Taster's Choice / Re: Recolors for Baby Controller on: 2005 December 25, 12:47:22
Well, at least with my recolors, you don't have an eye anymore, you just have a nice, softly colored ball!  It looks almost like one of those round ceiling lights.

I'll have to try them out then after I put it back in, right now I'm trying to sort out a "extra plumbob in birth scene" possible hack conflict problem   Roll Eyes
1142  TS2: Burnination / Taster's Choice / Re: Recolors for Baby Controller on: 2005 December 24, 23:40:28
Personally I would love it if the mesh were an innocuous teddy bear, and then finally I could have a stuffed bear in the nursery without every sim in the household trying to mess with it.

you really should get twojeffs "No Autonomous Talking Through the Teddy/Bunny Bear" mods
http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php?topic=1215.0

I would also perfer the baby controller to be a teddy bear instead of that awful eye
1143  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: MATYville Real Estate on: 2005 December 20, 20:30:46

I've never had any problems and I move both the trashcan and the mailbox all the time. However, it will make sims walk all over your lot. Every sim that walks by, as well as all delivery people, HAVE to stop by the mailbox as they pass. So if the mailbox is somewhere in the middle of the lot, that's where they'll all go. Gets very annoying. I mostly keep it within a few squares of the road for that reason.

ahhh...ok,  I will keep that in mind  Cool  Can't have everyone under the sim sun messing up my sims yards!!  Grin
1144  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: MATYville Real Estate on: 2005 December 20, 14:33:32
wonderful news! now I will shift some mailboxs and trashcans on some of my pre-NL lots so I can fit a driveway in *laughs*

Thanks for the links.

I've noticed that in your pictures the mailbox (and trashcan) have been moved, does the mailman have any problems with it being moved away from the road?
