Don't use the latest Nvidia drivers, go back to a 7 series, 78.1 works fine.
54  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Employee uniform madness on: 2006 May 27, 04:26:34
I found that happened if you issued them a preissued uniform, simply choose a new uniform from the clothes menu for each new employee.

As for the patch, when does Maxis really ever fix anything properly?
55  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I Want To Call Your Tiny Little Cell on: 2006 May 26, 22:23:09
I think the oddest thing is how it wakes them in the middle of the night - when any sensible human would switch it off! And RECHARGE IT!

My cell is on 24/7, but then I am on call 24/7 too.
56  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: House Layout? on: 2006 May 25, 21:48:52

And Simlover, I do much the same, although I always have one bathroom downstairs to save quite so much running up and down - and keep visitors downstairs as much as possible!)  And if I want a lot of instruments etc., I usually put a flat roof on the garage and stick them there!

I always have bathrooms downstairs too, I just find if you limit the second floor to essentials such as beds and a bathroom there is less traffic on the stairs.
57  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: House Layout? on: 2006 May 25, 21:22:38
I find putting all the living items downstairs and just bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs works well.  In houses with high traffic up and down the stairs I generally use the connect a stair and make the stairway double width like they do in the dorms.  I don't have a problem with sims going up and downstairs but then I don't tend to have terribly lazy sims in my games.

And Gali, I have said it before and will say it again,  keep doing what you do best, your sim makeovers and house designing reflects your extravagant and outrageous nature and individuality is a beautiful thing. Cheesy

Its up there witch!  Reply number 10 (if the damn thing doesn't get split again)

You could try deleting your groups.cache file, it seems to be doing the trick for everything else.
60  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: House Layout? on: 2006 May 25, 00:52:31
Gali is just, well, extravagant!!
61  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Sim dies on another lot on: 2006 May 24, 09:50:10
Have you tried moving the headstone to a cemetary Aussie?  Other than that try having boolprop on and see if you get an error message before it crashes.

Um it's probably because it counts as them already owning them, seeing as they own the store.  I always use the shop at home puter.

66  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Grimmy is buggering up my puter! on: 2006 May 23, 09:26:28
I had that happen once and I was about to restart the puter when it come good itself, it seems sometimes grim dissapears for a bit and then reappears and all is then good.
67  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: need a new graphics card... on: 2006 May 21, 22:07:51
I'm using the 78.1 drivers with no problems, I haven't felt the need to upgrade them at all, but I do know there are others using the higher drivers with no problems, although they do seem to be in the minority.
68  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: need a new graphics card... on: 2006 May 21, 00:50:47
I don't know why so many are having problems with Nvidia, my last display was a GEForce 2 and I have replaced it some time ago with a 6200/256 and it hasn't given me an ounce of trouble, my dad even got the same card after he played on my machine and he has been more than happy with his.

The snapdragons also work well for kids that don't like doing their homework, and I always keep some on the counters next to my cashiers also

73  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: New PC - New Install or Transfer? on: 2006 May 18, 03:22:24
1. Ok on your old computer go into My documents>eagames>and copy the sims2 folder to a cdrom/ mem card etc.

2. Install the games on your new computer, start the game once and exit

3. Copy the contents from step 1 into the new directory on the new puter and hey presto you got your old games back
74  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: What exactly does it take to run ofb without crashes?!? on: 2006 May 17, 23:21:07
Ok the one other thing I can think of, and I'm not sure if it is an issue any more, but when I was looking for new ram some 8mths ago I almost bought some high density ram however after reading through the info on it, it stated that it was not suitable for Nvidia or Intel chipsets, that they both required low density ram.  Maybe its worth checking out because when I did more checking it seemed the nforce drivers (with Nvidia) caused a crashing conflict when it was put under load with 3d but would opererate ok with normal 2d operation.
75  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: College Student turned invisible/black silhouette on: 2006 May 17, 22:34:36
Ok I had the black silouhette sim a few times with a particular sim that just vanished off the lot one day (she vanished from the side bar also), I think I used boolprop to bring her back and after that point she turned into a silouhette when inside.  I tried using move objects to delete her and when she come back she was fine but would blacken shortly after.  I gave up doing anything with her and the problem cleared itself eventually.
