1051  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Installing Awesomemod - the simple explanation on: 2011 February 03, 14:49:52
As if this is going to make all the stoopid questions go away, if anything it'll make moar. Don't try to hold anyones hand, it's not the MATY way.

The crappy hair and helmet set. It went with FLS, but it was free for everyone. So, semi-incentive, hence the ''.

That's what I thought you were referring too.
1053  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2011 February 01, 23:56:58

Really?  Have you patched and are using the current version of AM, or are you talking out of your arse because you think the patch doesn't change enough to affect AM?

People have already posted that they are getting "core mismatch" errors after patching which would suggest that AM doesn't work with the latest patch, yet here you are saying it does.

It does work, just as good as the ignore button that pops up. Of course the core mismatch error pops up, there's a new SP/patch, seeing as the patch changes few minor things AM still works just fine.

Okay, I've done a search for patch 1.19, and I'm not asking WHEN it's gonna be updated, just IF it has been yet, if not, I'll wait for El Presidante to update his nice Awesomemod. so, Has it been updated? cause the test version, sadly, is nonexistant. and the main version is not up to the latest patch.

thank you for your time.

*prepares fire retardant suit for being flamed*

This new patch changed two things, the current awesomemod works just fine.

What was the incentive for FLS?
1056  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2011 February 01, 21:15:03
They usually only do the registration rewards for EPs, not SPs.
1057  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Store Stuff Made Shiftable: Update 1/06 on: 2011 January 30, 06:35:58
There is only one(Moryrie), fixed. HL even hints to the fact that there are ways to do this without her mod in the first paragraph of the overview for it. Changing an OBJD file in S3PE takes no time at all, you just make "on wall" false under wall placement flags.
1058  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Store Stuff Made Shiftable: Update 1/06 on: 2011 January 30, 05:33:10
Moryries are awesome.  They should #grah.

I agree they are awesome. But what HL's curtains do is more important to me for my design needs. Smiley

So stop you're bitchin' already. You do know you can do those things without HL's mod, right? Also, not that hard to change Moryrie's so that they do that as well.

Didn't one of the latest patches fix all this LAA stuff?

And why would anyone want periods, of all things, in the sims?

For the same reason you want cancer, of all things, in the sims.
1063  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: All sim store stuff from here wont install on: 2011 January 18, 20:38:19
Another one? Did I miss something? Is it "I can't follow instructions on how to install Store Content" week?
1064  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2011 January 18, 08:31:32
I'm not sure what other people are doing to their games to have to reinstall so much but I've only had to twice, one time was my fault the other was because my HDD died.
1065  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2011 January 18, 05:48:22
One last question: if I delete things from Downloads, do they stay installed (since they're in the DCCache)?

Correct, once something has been installed a la launcher you can and probably should delete from the downloads folder, it's only taking up space.
1066  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2011 January 17, 23:09:38
The deleting your DBC files was an answer to your question about how to delete launcher installed stuff if it was lying. That had nothing to do with trying to make them work, sorry if you got confused. As far as what to do next, make sure your compressorizer and decrap files are all up to date. And to double check the instructions on how to decrap store stuff, because you've got to be doing something wrong for it not to work.
1067  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2011 January 17, 20:42:35
1) Are those the "DCBackup" and "DCCache" folders, or just one of them?
2) Does doing so remove them from the launcher and the game, or just one?

DCBackup is a waste of space, delete it regardless. DCCache has all the items you've installed via the launcher in it in a few large DBC files.
1068  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2011 January 17, 19:52:11
You can always delete your DBC cache files, that'll get rid of all of them and anything else you've installed via the launcher. If not, don't get all butt hurt over something you'll never want to do.
1069  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2011 January 17, 19:06:47
Hullo all, new here (save your shouts of welcoming, just throw money, thanks). I've downloaded some Store stuff from here, run it through the Compressorizor (which is possible on a Mac if you do what I do and run it under Crossover), and attempted to install it. The items go into the launcher's Downloads pane just fine, and once the installer goes through them, they show up under Installed Content too.

So, having finished installing, I quit the launcher, yes? Now, the next time I open up the launcher, the things I installed are still in Downloads, but they have disappeared from Installed Content and the little 'installed' icon that shows up in the Downloads pane is gone from them. Non-Store objects I've downloaded in the past stay installed; what's wrong here?

Did you bother to check if they are actually in the game? The launcher is a compulsive liar.
1070  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Late Night bugs & annoyances on: 2011 January 17, 16:40:11
I assumed it might be because Nraas no cd crack doesn't work properly

It's not that, you're doing it wrong.

Is there anything I can do? What have I done wrong? Sad I don't want to freaking reinstall the darn thing AGAIN! It feels like I'm spending more time having trouble with bugs and reinstalling/patching/trying to fix the game, than actually playing..

Well, once you learn how to follow instructions you'll have moar time to play the game.

"This den of snarks".  You can FEEL the pearls being clutched dramatically.
Dude. Stop clutching your pearls. You'll be able to flame people twice as fast if you type with both hands. Cheesy

We shouldn't be surprised if misinformation persists if our only answers to people's questions is LURK MOAR FUCKTARD and a string of dull, repetitive attempts at personal insults. There is a middle ground between "give a man a fish" and "strike a man repeatedly about the head and shoulders with a fish until he loses his taste for seafood."

And for all the misinformation in the Mare's Nest post, the one consistent comment which no one can deny, which many of you in fact brag about, is that most questions from new users are met with derision and personal attacks. Back when AM was the only mod in town, people who otherwise would avoid such conduct had to put up with that if they wanted to mod the game.  Now they have options. Better documented mods and more helpful communities around those mods.

The second biggest barrier to broader acceptance of AM is the instructions are outdated. If you follow the framework and AM instructions to the letter, you will not be able to keep your game running if you add one or more EPs. If there's no where to turn for advice without being flamed, people will drift elsewhere. You don't really expect anything else, do you?

If you want to keep losing "market share" to other mods, y'all are doing a great job. That's all I'm saying, along with telling the OP he/she has other options than to put up with substandard documentation and chickenshit.

I don't think there's a big enough piece of cheese to go with this WHINE, Ambular?

Do you still have remnants of pre-Amb framework? Did you remember to delete your cache files?
