26  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Create-A-World Tips, Tricks, and Annoyances on: 2009 December 23, 02:53:40
Yeah, I used the Chinese bridge. Someone said the Riverview bridges are not real ones, just roads with some special meshed sidepiece, not yet found in game. I will have a look at those walls, thanks for the tip Cheesy

I even made a special DC Cache with the necessities for building, which I put in when creating worlds (=all the time now, lol) so I can have my special things to play with. I am even thinking of making two different: one with medieval stuff and one with modern. It means a little more time to load, but still acceptable, no need to leave it on over night..
A good thing at least is that hairs (my weakness..) are not at all used for building. This means the CC-folder with packages can be very slim Tongue

A trick to make Edit-In-Game load fast, is to temporarily move out the DC Cache folder from Documents/EA/Sims3. Mine loads very fast now. Of course without the CC, but that can always be added in a later stage. It is handy to be able to check some stuff out and do some basic building or lot plopping. (Inge found this Cheesy)
29  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Create-A-World Tips, Tricks, and Annoyances on: 2009 December 19, 13:22:06
Edit-in-game DOES work, it just loads for a really long time. I left it on overnight, and this morning it was there. It works, but it has one flaw: it seems to load the caches (like all installed windows for example) really slow, and CAST is superlaggy. All custom content seems to have the same laggy effect. At the moment I have only sims3packs in, and all this is on a Windows7 machine. FPS numbers are high. An FPS limiter for CAW and Edit-In-Game, is that possible?

The squares must NOT be dark blue. Yeah, it was tricky, but I finally got it to work,

Ah, thats very useful info Zazazu. The hood looks amazing.
I also found out how to get more options for terrain paint: "add layer" in the window for paint options means that you can pick more options from the textures for roads ect. They are dds-files. You can also browse to any location on your computer to get other textures - saved in the right format (obviously .tga ord .dds) and they must be max 1024x1024 pixels.
32  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Create-A-World Tips, Tricks, and Annoyances on: 2009 December 18, 01:02:50
They look connected. Need to test though.
33  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Create-A-World Tips, Tricks, and Annoyances on: 2009 December 18, 00:39:45
It is a little tricky at start, but it is growing on me. Here is a pic on what I am working on:

That is an island which, with time, will be my new Old Town in Windle.

Now, if I could figure out how to get custom paints and other textures in there, preferrably stuff I already have in game. Cheesy
34  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.8/2.3 Released - CAW Out on: 2009 December 17, 01:39:29
I can use all my sims3packs stuff, both store and tsr. Right now I took out the framework and have only the stuff installed through launcher, and both objects (build/buy) and clothing show up fine. Hair is another story, the TSR-hairs are not showing.
35  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 December 13, 23:44:50
There are certainly other methods to fix gender preferences. Check out Twalllans Super Computer. And his Story Progression is in a way an updated Indie. I assure you they work fine. Do update and get fresh mods, that's the most sensible way. If you don't all kinds of trouble will await you, I am sure.
36  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Castle Exterior Stuff, looking good but not really on: 2009 December 06, 03:59:46
I noticed it too, lion - I have some other wishes for improvements. Like, why did they not make the top bits as fences? And the cover bits with windows, as far as I can see, dont work as windows. The deco bits with the smallest windows, those windows should be real windows too..
And WHEN will we get the medieval clothing and proper armor? /end rant
37  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Error codes 12 and 13 along with crashing. on: 2009 November 30, 15:29:26
I am very suspicious of the custom hairs. I will do some testing, taking them out - some of them also look really weird after installing the expansion. They did something to the heads of the sims, me thinks.

There is a good and short explanation of these things (where to put stuff after WA) here:

39  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: update-help on: 2009 November 17, 18:14:51
Did you take out the files in the Sims 3 folder: the 3 booter, the resource.cfg and the others? There should be no files in a clean Sims3 folder (only subfolders). Just move them out. You can probably put them back later.
40  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: update-help on: 2009 November 17, 13:44:01
Check if you properly removed the resources.cfg file. And if you changed the sims3.ini file, and/or the videocamera file, replace them with original.
41  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / More Windle Houses For Base Game on: 2009 November 15, 21:52:56
I updated with some more of the lots in my medieval version of Riverview, Older Windle (made with just the base game):

42  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Plots / Re: Windle Castle Town on: 2009 November 13, 21:45:16
I did place the science lab on another lot, close to the village - mostly because I use the Gardener career (Part Time) in Twallan's Career Mod as a Farmer Career.  I may fix the lot up a bit and put it up for downlad later this weekend, to "finish" the medieval lots for Riverview/Windle for the base game, before the Expansion Hurricane hits us. I also have an updated monastery with a hospital, a bookstore and a grocery store, the "home" editions of those rabbit holes. I can post that too. Will take some pics for it and do some adjustments. Check for it on Sunday!
43  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: New rabbitholes on: 2009 November 13, 10:19:11
You can add Beautiful Vista buff to any lot, using this tool:

Very handy when using downloaded lots.

The thread is back now. Maybe she fixed something?
45  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Working our way toward Period Towns One Mod At A Time on: 2009 November 04, 23:42:56
Looks great, Dragon Slave! Cheesy
46  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Exporting a neighborhood on: 2009 November 04, 21:15:12
Is it a neighborhood based on Riverview? Then you need the original Riverview-file, to make it work.

The original site closed their downloads, but these are now uploaded at MTS, with pics:

48  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Plots / Re: Windle Castle Town on: 2009 November 01, 23:36:12
Haifen, the thing missing now is more clothing options. Other than that, I find it even easier than in Sims2 to make a period hood. And, when we get the CAW-tool and can make our own hoods, it will be even easier.
49  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Plots / Re: Windle Castle Town on: 2009 November 01, 21:21:18
She just got them up at MTS
http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=376414

Oh, and its totally possible to use this like an "historical" part of a more modern hood. You don't HAVE to make it all medieval. Wink
50  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Plots / Windle Castle Town on: 2009 October 31, 16:32:49
I built a Castle, made of 7 lots + a Square and a Tournament Field.
