Has this been checked for Pets compatibility?
27  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / error on grocery delivery on: 2006 October 21, 03:53:07
After updating a whole buttload of Awesome hacks to their most recent OFB-compatible versions (I haven't installed Pets yet), I kept running into this error tonight when trying to have groceries delivered. The error occurred when the delivery person would ring the doorbell.

Can somebody read this and tell me what caused it?

Yes, in the Director's Cut. He meant you should update the whole Director's Cut.

Yup, I have that one already, but Pescado's note made me wonder if there wasn't a more recent version.  Huh

NOTE:
Anyone using Director's Cut "nodiningwithscum" should update when installing this, as some functions have been fixed & integrated into this (and removed from that).
29  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Myths, Urban Legends, And Apocrypha Of TS2 Explored And Exploded on: 2006 July 27, 15:24:41
Yeah that's what happened. Since I had already moved Mortimer out, I had to throw a wedding party so he could be there, and being literally my first day playing the game, I didn't know about the limo... or the social worker.
30  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Myths, Urban Legends, And Apocrypha Of TS2 Explored And Exploded on: 2006 July 26, 19:38:20
But anyways, the Prima Guide implies that if you don't play Don's lot first and get him to whoohoo with the Caliente sisters, he'll turn Cass down at the altar (due to low aspiration) and she'll go into aspiration failure.

Ah... now that I might have done...
31  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Myths, Urban Legends, And Apocrypha Of TS2 Explored And Exploded on: 2006 July 26, 19:10:42
And Cass and Don's wedding setup is supposed to teach you to make sure people are in a good mood before rushing them to the altar.

LOL, really? It was a roof raiser in my game... and it was only the first party I ever played. Only problem was I had already played the Caliente sisters beforehand and married Mortimer off to Dina, so Alexander got left alone after Cass & Don's wedding and I almost lost him to the social worker!
32  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: neighborhood view weirdness on: 2006 July 16, 13:30:24
It doesn't look like a Maxis design to me. For one thing the stairs appear to be in a sensible location Roll Eyes

LOL... no, it is a Maxis original, and I haven't altered it in any way.
33  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / neighborhood view weirdness on: 2006 July 16, 01:51:09
Recently my game has started fouling up the neighborhood view representations of some of my houses when I save them. Sections of wall, and sometimes an entire level, are missing. I'm attaching a couple of pics to show what I'm talking about. Some of them correct themselves after I've played and saved them again, but I'd like to figure out what's causing it in the first place and stop it if possible. Anyone know?

34  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: buttons greyed out in cass on: 2006 June 26, 16:44:06
It looks right to me. The buttons on the left side pertain to the whole family - they'll be greyed out when you're editing an individual Sim. The checkmark button on the right-side panel (under the 1-6 buttons for all the different option panels) is what you want to click to save the Sim... then you'll be returned to the family screen and the buttons on the left will light up again.
35  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: majorly bugged family... p2 related? on: 2006 June 26, 16:38:14
I have a date of May. 25th?

Quote from: cwykes
both my OFB .exe and objects.package are 25 May.

Okay, so it looks like my p2 install went wrong somewhere. Despite it saying it successfully installed, it failed to update at least those two files, that I know of. So is there a way to clear the flag that's telling it p2 is installed, so that I can install it again? Or am I doomed to have to un/reinstall the whole game?

Edit: I fixed it last night. I just un/reinstalled OFB and then the patch, and now I have the May 25 file dates and everything is running smoothly.
36  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: majorly bugged family... p2 related? on: 2006 June 25, 15:57:37
Yes, definitely installed p2... I even tried installing it again, and all it does is say the game is already up to date. But I did notice that at least my Sims2EP3.exe and objects.package still have a date of Feb. 6 - that can't be right, can it? So is it possible that even though the patch reported installing successfully, it failed to patch some of the files? Is it possible to reset whatever flag is telling it it's already installed, so that I can install it again? And what build number and date should I have?
37  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / majorly bugged family... p2 related? on: 2006 June 24, 23:39:47
I haven't had any problems since installing OFBp2, up until today. I tried to play one of my families which has not yet been played since the patch, and to put it bluntly the whole family is turning into a BFBVFS. Upon first entering the lot, I get an error in the wants controller. Subsequently, some of the family members are left with blank want/fear slots. For the humans it's 2-5 blanks (at least one want and one fear is there), but for the Servo all 8 slots are blank. Then later when some wants are satisfied (but not always), the wants controller errors again and that slot becomes blank. There's a home-based business on this lot, so next I tried opening the store, which went fine until customers started showing up... then when I tried clicking any of the customers to do sales socials, the Sim I was controlling would have an error (as soon as I clicked on the customer, not after selecting any particular social).  Whether all of these errors are caused by the initial error in the wants controller, I don't know.

I have several error logs, will post one of each for now. I can't interpret these things, so am hoping someone else can. Is there any way to fix this without moving the family out and back in? Will that even help? Is this family doomed?

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Yes, I needed this! My newest sub-hood is supposed to be a whole new planet, and I was wondering how I was going to deal with those walkbys...
39  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: freebies from the literate sim on: 2006 May 27, 01:11:20
for some reason, since I moved everything onto my second hard drive, I can't move anything with the mouse, except within folders,  only copy!

That's because when dragging files from one drive to another, the default action is to copy. When dragging between different folders on the same drive, the default is to move. You can override the default by dragging with the right mouse button instead of the left - when you let go, a menu will pop up with the options to Copy Here, Move Here, or Cancel. Or, ctrl+drag (left button) to force a copy, and shift+drag to force a move.
40  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Programmable Sleep Clock v3.31 (02/01/06) on: 2006 May 25, 18:39:02
And the trouble with have MAX on is all the dirty dishes go really green and flyblown overnight!

LOL. My Sims eat dinner and clean up several hours before bedtime (exactly 13 hours after waking up, actually), so I don't have that problem. Usually they are just skilling before bed, but I don't use the Max setting because every so often they're doing something more important that I actually want them to finish, so I just manually cancel the skilling action when the bedtime icon pops up.
41  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Programmable Sleep Clock v3.31 (02/01/06) on: 2006 May 25, 18:24:02
I've also found that even the Maxis beds can usually be bumped up a level or two higher than the RTFM recommends, and I love to maximize awake time, so I like having the fine control.
42  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Mp3 files outside of EA Games/Music folder? on: 2006 May 03, 19:03:36
Shortcuts worked for TS1, but as far as my brief testing has shown, it doesn't work for TS2. The MP3 files have to be in there.
43  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: MATY Auto-Updater- 0.1 pre-alpha on: 2006 May 02, 20:22:42
I'll be keeping an eye on this, Database. Once you get a few of those to-do's implemented this will definitely be something I can use. Good luck with it.  Smiley
44  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Programmable Sleep Clock v3.31 (02/01/06) on: 2006 April 12, 16:39:27
What's the "formula" to figure out how to set the sleep clock for a bed that's not in the RTFM list?

I've always gone by trial and error... eg. if the bed is listed as a 4 energy, then I start at the lowest rating in the E4 category... if the Sim's energy is filled more than an hour before their wake time, then I go up one more rating, etc. until the Sim appears to get just enough sleep.

I thought the Family Fun Pack was going to be downloadable like the Holiday Pack was... how can they make it CD-required if it's downloadable?
46  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: deleting custom sims on: 2006 April 06, 16:49:48
hehe... thanks
47  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / deleting custom sims on: 2006 April 05, 20:33:58
This is probably a dumb question, so make fun of me if you must...

I've accumulated a ton of custom sims from all the clothes and genetics I've downloaded. They're really a pain to sort through in BodyShop and CAS looking for my own custom sims I've made. Can I delete all these extra sims from within BodyShop, without affecting the clothes and genetics that came with them?
48  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Problem with moveobjects on/off cheat (Sims OFB) on: 2006 March 23, 16:09:36
youre thinkiing of another cheat because move objects cant do that.  IM not sure but that sounds like a boolprop type cheat .
No, not another cheat. Moveobjects used to allow moving of the mailbox and trash can, and placement of other items in that row of grass between the sidewalk and the street. OFB has disabled this. I read in the last chat transcript that Maxis was not aware of this and it wasn't intentional, but they are apparently looking into it.
49  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: FFS OFB Compatibility List on: 2006 March 18, 00:45:49
After playing the game for a while my computer TOWER (not the speakers) starts making these weird sounds that sound like a siren.

It sounds like maybe your CPU is overheating and your motherboard is trying to alert you to this fact.

I wasn't going to get this because it just seemed a bit too "cheaty" to me, but I'm so sick of the bug with the Work Out option constantly disappearing from the stereos, I'm going to use this as a workaround. Does the Work Out option appear for children with this? Because normally, the stereo is the only way children can work out, and when the option is constantly disappearing... grr!

Any chance of someone fixing the bug with the stereos?
