At least you can't whine about my grammar or spelling.

Yes we can.

This seems to happen when you have custom contents installed with the luncher.

I am particularly interested in this "luncher" you speak of. Does it provide lunch to you when you install cc? How does it work? I r intrigue.

I've got Windows Vista, btw. I hope this isn't some sort of virus in my system. >_<

Unfortunately that is a sign of a pretty nasty virus. The only way to fix it is to completely reformat your computer. You might want to do it soon, before the virus gets itself into more important functions.
4  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2011 May 01, 04:23:05
Although AwesomeStory and Aging are actually somewhat interrelated: Sims that are not aging will not perform "passage-of-time" based story actions, such as breeding, because otherwise you'd get a litter of ageless babies all over the floor.
If there currently isn't any way of letting everyone in town age except sims in the currently active household or blessed, then I formally request that feature. I think it would be nice to have a dynamic town while not having to worry about giving your current sims life fruit on time. I can never remember to have them eat that before its too late.

You can try using resetage, or grab one of those mods that adds extra days to life fruit.  The one at MTS I think had a version with some ridiculous amount of time on it.  Although the mod is probably easily modified by yourself to better suit your needs/wants.

Or use Buzzler's Aging Manager found elsewhere on this site, which allows you to stop the aging of any household you like.

Or, if you hate TS3 so much and think it should be like TS2, you could, you know, play TS2.
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: 4th speed stopped working? on: 2010 November 04, 00:27:12
I think the game tips said that 4th speed was 3rd speed that continued until the selected sim finished their current action, after which it went to 1st. It was never faster than 3rd for me.

Custom built, like everyone else said, is the best way to go. However, if you absolutely insist on not going custom (I have no idea why), according to my brother HP are the best of the shitty. (Shitty meaning non-custom. Brother works in the computer field so my bringing him up isn't completely random.)

d00d, don't get a Dell, Just don't. They are a crime against humanity. (As I type on my shitty Dell that died 2 weeks after the warranty ran out. Well, the screen died 8 days before, but I yelled at them enough to force them to fix it even though they tried to get out of it. The rest died as soon as it was back though.)

Edited for word fail.

I have a paper from the neuropsyche dept at UiO that says I'm one of the smartest people on the planet Earth.

Any tiny remaining hope I had for humanity has flown out the window.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Sims 2 Apartment Life on: 2010 October 19, 17:56:46
Then you fail at searching. However, since you seem to be capable of decent grammar, except for the failure to properly use the shift key consistently and the useless repetition of punctuation marks (Seriously, don't do that.), I will be nice and advise you to try searching using "Conflict with Emulation Software" as your search term. Full page of topics discussing the issue, including a first result that very clearly states what should be done. There, I used up all my niceness.
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Sims 2 Apartment Life on: 2010 October 19, 17:38:45
There's a search bar that's a hell of a lot easier to find than the New Post button. Use it. (Protip: It's labelled "Search:")
12  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: My dog is stuck in the ground on: 2010 October 01, 02:00:59
If it doesn't know how to even do a simple search, it's probably better off just deleting it all anyway. It might wanna delete the whole Downloads folder while its at it, to avoid any future cc errors.

I AM a woman and I don't understand us. I think it has something to do with hormones though.

Of course. Women are not like properly evolved humans with the intelligence to overcome their hormones or emotions in order to act rationally.  Roll Eyes

Hence why they get knocked-up when they're 12...

Because the only reason male 12s don't get knocked up is because they lack hormones?
14  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: How do i know if awesome mod works? on: 2010 September 17, 22:15:25
This Vermillion character seems to know the MATY culture, but has no idea how to apply it to itself. Its been going around the forum spewing random crap going "Lookit me! I'm one of the cool kids! See; I can haz sai things lyk 'LURK MOAR'!"

You're still a noob. Accept it.
15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Reinstall after OS was reset on: 2010 September 16, 21:41:25
Did you even bother *trying* before asking? Cause that would answer you pretty easily.
16  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Does anyone use The Sims 3 with Steam? Is an internal FPS limiter possible? on: 2010 September 15, 01:42:34
Claeric might just like steam because it feels familiar, what with it being the main thing in its head and all.
17  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Game Update for: 1.15/2.10/3.6/4.3 on: 2010 September 07, 17:13:16
My car has a name. And while I absolutely love it and am careful about where I park it and spend a decent amount of time making sure its cleaned and has nice accessories, that's more due to the fact that its a pretty good car for my income, and that it cost me about 80% of my savings. I would never consider it a friend, it's a decently reliable way to get from A to B. I still take transit most of the time to avoid the hassles of driving, so the car just sits in the parking lot for weeks on end. The whole driving lots = friend with car = naming it thing is just more EAxian logic.
18  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Transferring Neighborhood = Renamed Townies? on: 2010 September 03, 19:48:59
With EAxis, anything is possible.

Either way, this is their doing and not the OP's.

Well, as long as it's EAxis' fail and not mine. I'm pretty used to them doing dumb things. Time for me to go rename a bunch of sims then play it out to see when something goes boom.
19  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Transferring Neighborhood = Renamed Townies? on: 2010 September 02, 19:51:19
Hah, you know that might actually be it. I'm not sure but I think my old installation was US English, and this new one is UK English. Of course my first question would have to turn out to be something dumb like that.
20  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Pudding Factory is for downloads: put your lame requests & WCIFs here on: 2010 September 02, 18:39:16
IIRC there was some discussion about the possibility of an alcohol mod with related moodlets in the Awesomemod Requests thread. I can't remember how far back it was, or if it ever went further than just throwing around ideas though.
21  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Transferring Neighborhood = Renamed Townies? on: 2010 September 02, 18:02:36
I think the old neighborhood was on a game with everything up to FT, and this new computer now has all EPs and SPs. I don't really even care about the names so much, since its been so long since I played that I can barely remember what they were in the first place, I just want to make sure I didn't do something stupid that's going to lead my 'hood to a BFBVFS.
22  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Transferring Neighborhood = Renamed Townies? on: 2010 September 02, 00:02:32
I just copied the entire N004 folder from the neighborhoods folder over into the new neighborhoods folder.

Edit: So I spent a bit of time looking at exactly which sims had their names changed, and so far I've found that sims in the main 'hood created in CAS or born during gameplay kept their names. Townies/dormies that married into the family got renamed, as did any sims who had been adopted into the family, a CAS dog, and a servo, however a Takemizu Village vacation local who married into the family kept her name. In one Uni 'hood (Sim State University) all of the playable's names are intact. In another Uni 'hood (a completely custom one) all of the playables (all created in Create-a-Student) got name changes. Many name changes are repeats of each other, and a large percent are wrong gender names. Haven't got a clue how it decided which sims it felt like renaming.
23  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Transferring Neighborhood = Renamed Townies? on: 2010 September 01, 23:40:01
I don't think it would have been possible to have done that. It was a fresh install on a newly formatted computer that had never had Sims 2 on it before, and the first thing I did was to get rid of the Maxis neighborhoods before anything else. There shouldn't have been anything to be overwritten.
24  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Transferring Neighborhood = Renamed Townies? on: 2010 September 01, 22:25:33
I have a neighborhood from quite a while ago that I started a legacy on, and since getting a better computer, trying out The Horror and quickly getting bored of it, I decided to install Sims 2 on the new computer and transfer over the old 'hood and continue playing it. It's not the first time I transferred a 'hood between computers (or loaded backups) so I thought I had done it same as normal, but when I went in to play, all of the townies who I had married into my family have been renamed (My poor sim's husband has been renamed to Allison). And it's not only the townies, but also my family's servo. I never noticed this happen before, but to be honest I never payed much attention, so I could very well just be doin' it rong.

Anyone know what the heck I did to cause this?

How about reading the solutions listed above? Also, necromancy is bad, m'kay?
