51  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I vant you to bite my neck! Bleh! on: 2006 January 07, 17:29:39
I used CAS and the InSim to make a count and countess for my regular NH. I don't go downtown unless some other sim invites mine or the want pops up since I put all the cool stuff on a regular community lot. Even so though I don't see my vampires out and about much.
52  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Family Allowance/Child Benefit for sim parents? on: 2006 January 07, 17:12:50
My sister has a 7 mo old baby. When she got pregnant she had a good job but not good enough to cover child care for two kids while she worked. She applied for a child care program offered by the welfare office. Turned out she would have to wait 6 months to have any assistance since she already had a job but if she was unemployed she would get the assistance imediately.
She quit her job.

Well it is somewhat realistic. How many of us know rl couples who are completely wrong for each other? In fact when I think about it I myself have been half of a couple like that once or twice when I was a teenager.
54  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: All my plans Ruined! on: 2006 January 03, 03:14:37
I tend to give my sims names that reflect their personalities (as I imagine them).  I have a romance sim called Crimson Lane.  The name came to me when I was making her and I couldn't think of anything else no matter how hard I tried.

Sorry that was really tasteless.

I have been making three bolt couples recently and I have found a way to completely ignore the bloody star signs (which I hate).

What's the secret?
55  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: All my plans Ruined! on: 2006 January 01, 18:12:26
I had one family I used food names for. I started with Taffy, Peppermint and Cookie and then Chip and Lolly were born. I still play Peppermint but everyone else is hanging out in an abandoned neighborhood. Then I had the Brand family that I tried to come up with country sounding names for. The Father had the ten kids want so I was constantly needing new ones. Charlie, Becky Sue, Charlene, Henry, Mabel, Dusty, Fancy, LeAnn, Ray and Wade. I had to look to remember them all. That was fun though. Then of course I had a little girl named Plantain and her mom Uletta. I made those two up out of my head.

As to the three bolts it would conquer all except that I have never liked Brittany Parker and shes lucky she didn't perish long ago like so many of the other townie kids. In fact the only townie young persons I have ever not minded are Ricky Cromier and Meadow Thayer. However I haven't got any fates carved in stone (anymore) yet. I'm gonna see how things go for a bit. Maybe they will decide for me.

Well maybe I shouldn't be such a drama queen but my sims really are not cooperating.

I have a teen named Thalia whom I liked so much I went into CAS and made a father (Marcel who Brynne can't stop auto flirting even though they only have one bolt. Maybe it's because he's french?) son (Aimery) family just so she would have a nice cute boy to date. Things were going great. They had two dream dates, wanted nothing but to be together and have two bolts (I've only ever gotten up to two bolts with any couple until...) for each other. So he asks her to go steady and they Woohoo for the first time at a party she has and everything is going great.

Okay so next day I'm playing at his place and Britany Parker (I aged all the townie children up to teen for a particularly bad foster home I was playing) is doing a walk-by and even though they have 0/0 she is at 2 bolts with him. Next thing you know he is talking to her and it imediately goes up to three! My first three bolt couple and that hussy is half of it so of course I'm horrified. And this guy Aimery wouldn't even exist if it weren't for Thalia. Now I'm all in a quandry over what to do with this.

A little background on Britanny-
She is fortune and she managed to escape the foster home (unlike some of her foster siblings who met with some mysterious "accidents") by hooking up with a rich elder in town. She and Meadow Thayer are sharing the old guy so I haven't been to their lot since NL except to test the romance mod. I thought maybe Britt and Aimery can have a brief fling before he finds out what kind of girl she is. After all she'll never leave her rich old sugar daddy for some unemployed kid. Shes in it for cash not romance. Then he and Thalia can live happily ever after. Maybe.

Also on the subject of Brynne-
If she continues to insist on him I'm afraid she's gonna get her heart broken with this Marcel thing as he is a Con Artist and a Romance. I may post more on this as it develops.
57  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Name your top 5 Must Haves.... on: 2005 December 31, 19:17:20
1. InSim
2. InTeen
3. Phone hack/Auto yakyak
4. Lot Debugger
5. No censor

I've really gotten used to the yellow burglar alarm from DMA sims too though.

I'm sure there are tons of others I'd really miss if I were without them.  I never even think before I stick a new usefull hack in but I think quite a bit before I put a new object or outfit into my folder.
58  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Everybody probably knows this, but I didn't *feels dumb* on: 2005 December 31, 17:20:19
I didn't know that either.
I've never seen anything from my lots. I saw other people post pics where they did. I never knew what made my game different.
Guess I was to lazy to ask anyone about it cause it didn't disturb me much. Glad you mentioned it though. I'll probably run mine so that I can see it once and then turn it back off.
59  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sims not queueing up 'cry softly?' on: 2005 December 19, 20:27:34
I would love to see that JM.
60  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: MATYville Real Estate on: 2005 December 19, 20:23:59
One of those apartment places sounds fine if there is one vacant. I don't mind having to work for things but I want a few people to socialize with in the meantime.
61  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: MATYville Real Estate on: 2005 December 19, 01:30:48
Do you have any apartments or duplexes on the poor side of town?
62  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Names for self-sims on: 2005 December 15, 00:21:53
I'd be Cherry Moline.
Pupdog Woodland sounds like a good redneck name.

BTW I gave sim Brynne Bayfield as her last name. Hope that was okay.
63  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: MATY Neighbourhood update? on: 2005 December 15, 00:09:06
I posted my self sim in the animals area and would love to be in the MATY neighborhood even as a townie or an apartment tenant if you have to many households already. I'm a pretty settled down person in a very small town irl but I always think of my sim self as representing my younger years when I was much more shall we say "un-settled" in the big city.

Oh and I like Mark Valley formerly of Keen Eddie and presently on Boston Legal. He would make a fine townie I think.

That is messed up.
On another line I did get 2 people to be lovers. They were both on the verge of drinking and eating disorders but still. I also had the free love bonus for that year. Not sure how hard it would have been without it but once they were lovers I just put them together to talk and they went to the trailer themselves. I was not able to place them in there together however.
I think the flying hearts between them are cute.
65  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Motoki Come Back on: 2005 December 07, 02:40:12
All I know about any of you is what I've seen on the screen but I know that even if I don't agree with everything you all say I do like Mitoki and a lot of the rest of you too.
66  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Animated custom hair on: 2005 December 03, 21:51:18
I found a nice animated ponytail similar to that at MTS2. It has a seperate accessory bang mesh and is for all ages. I think it might be a tad fuller than that one and perhaps juat a bit shorter. (it's definately not the same one).

cute sim by the way. She has nice freckles.

No peggy sims donation meshes in my game I'm afraid.  I have her free ones though and am happy with them. I'd guess that her newer meshes are nice, but that's just a guess.

Dewshine-
Could you please tell me who was the creator for that ponytail mesh? I did a search using a few combinations of words but couldn't find it.
Somehow during my search I got distracted and dl'd a desktop full of stuff. Now I'm to tired to install any of it so I'm gonna go play The Movies for a bit first.
Thanks for the links everyone.
67  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Movies (the game) on: 2005 December 03, 15:56:56
I have had a problem with costumes occasionally not being right. I used custom script to get everything in order for a western movie once. Had everything perfect but when the movie came out 2 of the extra chicks had on the blue lipstick from the sci-fi movie they had shot before even though I am 100% certain I had changed this when casting. That was annoying. Then once I was draging an actor in to change the person playing a part and somehow the girl was fighting with herself. That was odd and I had to exit and go back in to fix it.

So I looked high and low and couldn't find the interview I read before but here is a quote from another site.

"As for the game itself, it all begins at the turn of the century … no, not the 21st century, the 20th century. Players take over a small studio and then pursue the magic of Hollywood through approximately 110 years of time line."

I read that the simulation can go on and on but the timeline with all the historic events will only run to present day. I'll see if I can find where I saw that and post a link.

71  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Movies (the game) on: 2005 November 30, 03:44:43
Now see I love writing the movie and setting it and post production and all of it! I realize now that i need to save all that for sandbox mode though cause my last movie took 32 months to shoot and I'm getting kind of poor since the previous movie goes to archive before the next is released. Oh well. It's still fun.
72  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Movies (the game) on: 2005 November 27, 17:22:21
The backdrops are for all of your sets but you must change them in your custom script writing phase. Also You can change the lighting and alter the tone of your scenes to some degree using the buttons to the side. You can even change the props they are holding a little but I hate that you can't Give them props if they didn't already have them in hand.
73  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Movies (the game) on: 2005 November 26, 16:11:29
Isn't there a little box you can tic when you import them to make them a director or am I miss remembering? I've never used it but it seems like I did notice it once. I'll go try importing someone and see if it's there.

Yes there is a little box. When you drag someone into the import box the selection screen pops up and a little box at the bottom says import star as director. I think you have to check it Before you click on the actor you want imported.

I Still don't know how to remove decorations. I accidentally blew up my building before I figured out that that wasn't a wrench I put that guy on. Really pissed me off.

Thanks for the hack links. Smiley

To remove decorations, left-click on them and hold down the button until they light up, then (while holding) drag them away. They will pop onto the mouse cursor. Then click the right mouse button and they will vanish.

Cool thanks.

I finally got around to playing this for a signifigant period of time today and I'm actually enjoying it. I thought it would have too much micro management for me and it does have a fair bit, but it works and I like it.

The game starts in the 20s and the years go by so you do see a progression. My movies just started being in color now as I got into the 30s. ...

Overall, I'd reccomend this game to anyone who likes simulation games like Sim City but maybe wants a little bit of TS2 thrown in there. If people can pay $15 just for the holiday pack, I don't think $45 or $50 is so bad for this game at all.

I finally got my post production building last night and I was really excited. I'm having so much fun writing filming and editing my movies. I'm a little suprised too because I've never made a movie with the sims. I'm guessing it's not this much fun.

There is an employee hack that gives you more potential employees that I wish I had had from the start as installing it after you begin the game doesn't seem to work. I think it works a little better than what I was looking for anyway. I only needed 2 or 3 more people but it looks like that hack gives you 20 more.
http://tmws.themoviesplanet.com/index.php?option=com_docman&task=doc_details&gid=7&Itemid=26

There is also a lot size hack (i have not tried it yet) that can be found at http://www.tmws.themoviesplanet.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=7&sid=d9661f73470b8bcf9be8093eb7d1ab5b

This game is definitely worth while IMO.

I Still don't know how to remove decorations. I accidentally blew up my building before I figured out that that wasn't a wrench I put that guy on. Really pissed me off.
