Every conversation my "me" Sim has, involves him sticking a finger in the air and announcing "Hamm Lataplatti". I think it's something to do with a Scandinavian Rally driver...
Sid Meier's latest Pirates! game (I think the aptly named Hook has been playing this, too) has some great Simlish dialogue. Obviously an early dialect, and you can tell the differences between the Dutch, French, English and Spanish.

Witch, I think I was Inge Jones on there. Try with both names.
Edit: No I think you're right. Also as it's my birthday today I would have expected to be listed in the birthdays, but as I am not I have to assume the account has been vaped entirely.
A bit weird really, because whatever made them decide to put me on moderated, I certainly hadn't done anything since to deserve "punishment". I am not sure therefore what policy has been applied to me.
Happy birthday, although I'm guessing it's not that good a day if you're posting on here instead of getting buttocked in the pub. Whoops! I mean served in the pub. It's easliy done, isn't it?

noinfluenceobsession.zip No Influence Obsession (v1b) for TS2U v1.0 Made by: Flying Fish Systems (J. M. Pescado & Doctor Boris) CHANGES: Reduces the obsessively irritating "influence someone to do something that doesn't need doing" wants. Sims will only exhibit influence wants during a narrow window of influence-opportunity between having a half-full influence bar and being filled (after which they learn you are not playing silly influence games and stop asking).

Brynne had a screenshot with the name of the eyeshadow/veggie hack in the thread "damn alienware hack". But it's not showing up now. Perhaps she still has a copy? You might find a thread about the hack at MTS2.

In one of the NL threads, Mr. Maxoid was offered a highly populated neighbourhood to test, but declined saying "we can generate high population NHs ourselves" (or something similar). I bet that those Maxis HQ neighbourhoods aren't the same as one that has been played to that size. It wouldn't take long for them to realise the constant phone ringing is a royal pain in the ass. Especially when you get "why haven't you called? CLICK" and think "OK I'll ring you back and talk if that's what you want" only to get "so and so is at work unlike someone I know". WTF? Then gimmee his work number, dammit! If he can ring me from work with a crank call he can accept a call from me! I'd bet a million simoleons that if Maxis had played a neighbourhood to a decent size they would have spotted the jump bug a bit sooner, too.

No no no! Most Brits throw a fit if you use the word soccer. To them, there is only one football, the one that has Beckhams and Rooneys and so on. They seem to forget about Rugby League Football, Rugby Union Football, Aussie Rules Football, Canadian Football and good old American Football. Go Panthers, by the way.

That was the bit of installation advice we didn't give you - don't bother because it's boring. Your sims have LTW now, which is the main reason I got Uni. So you can have some fun with that. Getting a 4.0 GPA and 1200 simoleons a month is so easy (even with a CAS YA with no skills) that you'll soon have a dorm with all the skilling equipment, expensive beds and whatnot that your sims won't even have to leave the building except for the final exam. Get the comm skilling hack BTW, so your dormies can gain skills sitting in front of the TV or playing chess. If you decide to make them playable later they won't appear to be quite so "retardo".

*drools over PC specs... No, my error logs still own yours, and no crashes in CAS. You could go into options and try turning off the music, If you want to eliminate that from your suspects. You could try removing all your custom hair/makeup/clothes and see if it is a dodgy download causing it. I suppose I should go into CAS later and make sure mine hasn't decided to lock up in sympathy.

That looks exactly like my error log. No crash to desktop, though. Although I seem to generate more and more errors each time I play, and some weird jump bug effects appear to be creeping in now. Had a sim jump out of using the Medical Reward yesterday, causing him to drop his queued actions, too. Wouldn't have minded too much but the thing stayed bleeping for hours. Got lots of "missing bone" errors in the logs too. Anyone know what they are?

Yep, make sure everyone is home before saving. I tend to save each household at night, when everyone is asleep and no actions are queued (and after about 2am just incase the burglar is making his/her rounds). After installing Uni, the sims should be stood at the side of their beds with plenty of green bars ready for fun and games. The stuck bills bug might hit regardless of which day you save, you'll probably get a clue if the postie walks past the box without even stopping. Like said above, the ffslotdebugger will sort that out. I'm another that waits a while before buying games - most of the bugs are identified and patched, players have had time to see if a game has lived up to the hype, and the price is usually a fraction of what it was when released. Although I did buy Simcity4 and Sims2 full price and before I even had a computer to run them... Yeah, don't listen to me I'm an addict.

Noroadpillows seems to completely disable pillow-fighting. (For that matter, TJ's no indoor kickybag disables kickybag as well) Darn. How will I ever survive without insane, constant pillow-fights and kickybag all over my downtown and residential lots? Excellent! That's the best reason I've seen for me to buy Nightlife.

Can I ask a question about the inventory? Is it possible to put sim-created paintings and photos in there and take them when you move?
Yes, you should be able to do so. Thanks for that, I might put off a few impending moves for a while then.

Just thought of something else I'd like to see addressed in a patch/future expansion. Townie/NPC name generation. How many Marylena Hamiltons and Dagmar Bertinos can you stand? The game even ships with two (unrelated) Ivy Copurs for flip's sake! Why no Dagmar Le Tourneau or Tosha Hamiltons? Surely Maxis can produce a bit of code to pick a random first and second name not just repeat the same pairings? ps please don't say "as designed" or I will be forced to smashinate my keyboard.

Piano - as designed
Wait a second... Am I reading this incorrectly? The Piano is SUPPOSED to stop being Fun after it's been on a lot for 24 hours? So, I guess that professional pianists don't enjoy their work at all then, eh? If I'm just being mentally retarded, let me know. :-p it wouldn't be the first time. And I've been playing for 40 years. I must be deeply depressed by now. Depends how much is in your tip jar. Actually, you could be one of my dormies - I made the mistake of buying a piano for one of my dorms. Flipping dormies sitting there plink plonking for 24 hours at a stretch (never getting any better) drove me nuts. OK, time for what seems like Baddmark's unique bug: Levitation causes the floor tile underneath to become unselectable and "blocked", much like a stuck kicky bag.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Maid and that damn fish tank
|
on: 2005 September 15, 16:24:53

It even happens when I use Macrotastics to get my Sims to clean. They will start with the fishtank and finish with the fishtank and sometimes get completely stuck on the fishtank so they don't clean anything else, just like the maids do. I actually fenced Lucy Hanby off at the bottom of a garden with her precious fishtank and let her die with it. At one time I removed part of the fence (her crying got to me rofl), but she preferred to stay with her fishtank so I closed the fence again. Each maid/nanny reacts differently to the tank too, which makes me think it's one of those "by design" things.
I have the same problem with the Macrotastics and the fishtank AND the maid and the fishtank. What is it with the fishtank anyway?! Sell the fishtank and get a dishwasher and coffee machine - hours of fun for the maid and a refreshing drink for your sims!

What about the fingerprint scanner bug where the scanning is treated as a romantic interaction - if two Sims have a sufficiently high relationship score asking/offering to train causes a crush. It also will disappear out of a Sims hand on occasion never to be seen again.
I think Maxis cloned the scanner from some type of sex toy that never made it into the final game. Or maybe Sims2 has a hidden "hot coffee" mode like GTA:San Andreas. I hope Jack Thompson doesn't find out about this...
