I have been so busy at school lately that I havent had time to do any simming. I got a few of the hacks in when I got OFB but not everything since I didn't know which ones I may need. Good thing I got some of them anyway. If it is of interest to anyone I have nearly all the sims 1 stuff and can get them out to those who show interest.

Inge you will be missed as a modder but hope to still see you around the forums and chat rooms. Thanks for the hard work. Honestly my first thought was you got sick or had family crisis, hope thats not the case, but know that I am wishing you the best just in case.

This is my prison I was unable to upload it to the exchange-they have issues. If you want it I might be able to send it to you, will have to update inges prison system first though since she changed it after I built this and I havent played it. Comes with a warden. I also have an assylum for the insane sim. Again it wouldn't upload couldnt even get the story up on that one but I can put some photos on my LJ if you would rather see the hospital. Both are very large lots and probably require a pretty good comp to play them. The prison is on a 5x5 and the hospital is a 5x6 and they both use the prison system to control the occupants.

I use graph paper and create the house to fit the furniture I want in it. Makes it easier to convert floorplans to sim scale. Plus it gives an idea of the traffic flow. When it comes to porches I find that placing a floor roof on them before the house roof and deleting the floor after leaves it open.
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: MATY Neighbourhood update? on: 2005 December 15, 06:42:11
I put a retirement home up on the exchange. Not sure if anyone may be interested in it for maty hood. May have to take it down soon as some custom content went along for the ride that really shouldnt have (i only used maxis stuff but see a big list on the site of crap that tagged along).  So if your at all interested in a 'nursing home' for your elderly better check it out and snag it before it gets removed.

I had problems converting the old prison so here it is a shiney new one built in a new hood without most of my custom content in the dl folder (mainly inges stuff) so should be pretty free of hacks and content. like I said its large so before thinking about playing with it in the maty hood understand its a 5x5 lot with the prison system only but i furnished it and story lined it for your viewing pleasure
http://thesims2.ea.com/exchange/story_detail.php?asset_id=63664
I also have a folder with 7 female prisoners and a warden if you like all created from real people. Had to modify a prison uniform to go on elders since the ones linked from inges site are only for adults.
well all that said let me know what you think.
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: MATY Neighbourhood update? on: 2005 December 08, 18:25:09
I have a great working prison with Inge's system if your interested in it. It is LARGE though with loads of custom content even have a folder full of real prisoners-females that i have created using real women like eileen woronos and other female serial killers.
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: MATY Neighbourhood update? on: 2005 December 04, 20:48:04
I have gotten 21 sims selves here and only 4 are men (Pescado and Boris being 2 of them).  Come on guys! We already know women run the world but is that really the way you want this to go? Although it means the 4 I have will get very lucky. Look at all the beautiful women, dont you at least want you sim to get a little of that?
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: MATY Neighbourhood update? on: 2005 December 03, 22:33:54
OK I think I found your page and one house with your selfsim in it-the surprise family. Did not see anyother ones though. Will download and extract you for the MATY game. Any links you put up are welcome since this is all I can find. Also what personality and such should I give you once you go through CAS whatever you have in game will be gone.
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: MATY Neighbourhood update? on: 2005 December 03, 20:58:57
Sandilou-where are you?  I have been checking the exchange but cant locate your simmie.
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Shared neighborhood - ground rules on: 2005 November 13, 01:56:15
I can contribute some houses (not so good with businesses) and my story family.  I would also like to try to do a farm imigrant or hobo town lot. Just need to know how big you want them- Lot size limit? or Price limit to start? Can also make some townies.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Shared neighborhood - ground rules on: 2005 November 12, 02:15:07
Yes I like the 2 teir idea as well, gives choice to the matter of what direction you want to take your sims.  Naming it Simpotence is a great idea. I did start a thread for self-sims on Peasantry, with a little bit of info but otherwise sterile sim. regardless of how we decide to handle hacks I'm in, playing my way is getting boring so maybe playing someone elses way will be more stimulating.

As far as the neighborhood goes make it empty to start and get the lots seperately. Will make it much easier for some to get them than one big package. Pictures of the terrain fully made should suffice as far as what goes where.

Any more thought as to the townies? I still like the thought of each contributing a few and replacing the ones in default.  Even if some are bizzare looking they would be more interesting than the same-ol-same-ol that the game gives to every single one you make.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Shared neighborhood - ground rules on: 2005 November 11, 20:35:47
I agree, right now just getting the neighborhood set up will be a big thing.  I also like the idea of getting rid of the townies except for the ones that cannot be duplicated (can we make vampires?) and having everyone contribute some townies (am I wrong in asuming that the game will generate the NPC's as needed for shopping?). This is a great idea. Perhaps making the houses without wallpapers and just a default floor if needed for above ground floor building will decrease the filesize and allow users to add their own style yet have the same content in the basic start up.
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sharing neighborhoods - Simpotence thread on: 2005 November 11, 19:13:20
Not a problem for me- I suck at designing hoods! Can make a neat house but never even think about placement and designing themed areas. For me it would have to be hood 6 or above since I have 5 already.

Come to think of it I havent even played in #5 so I can shelve it and place this one there so....
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Shared neighborhood - ground rules on: 2005 November 11, 19:07:29
I think this would be a great project if we actually do it I would like to join in.  Been bored with my simmies lately need a reason to get back in. I play with CC and Mods but wouldn't miss too many of them since I use the coffe pot the most it would be the only hack I would have to have (I just hate how the whole promotion system works in expecting a dead ass tired sim to pull a double shift just because they got promo'd).  I could contribute a family and story for them, I love the hoods created so far and having a high end machine can play just about any size house without too much issue. The only real cheat I do is to initially make my sim have enough money to move into the house I want (motherload). I have tried to wait it out but find I end up with an entire hood full of poor folk and into 3rd generation before they break poverty. I do make them furnish the house the hard way though.  I saw mention of an original thread for this project? where is it? (or rather - whats its name?)

And to think the worst thing happening with my lots are that my college students are suddenly running round nekkie.

sagana,
Firstly, thanks for such a well thought out post. It's nice to get a geniunly constructive post we can actually work with.

I don't think MTS2 is over-moderated. There are occasions when a lot of threads are deleted within a short space of time for various reasons, and it does look heavy handed however this isn't a regular occurance.

I don't know if its a moderation issue or just a God complex but I have posted houses on MTS2 without a problem.  Being limited in what I can create at this time I tried my hand at some female mass murderers.  No matter what I did I could not get them posted.  There was always some excuse (pictures not good enough, need shots of real and simmies for compairison etc.) I complied with the wishes of the forum mod until I got to the point of the face shots were not close up enough to show the details and a week later someone had a celebrity posted without a real person photo for compairison (something I had been turned down for on my 3rd try to get these posted!).  I wasn't able to get back on for a week or so but figured that it just wasn't worth the effort anymore.  At that point I decided to forget posting my stuff and just check in from time to time to see whats new.  I rarely get help from anyone with regards to how to do things (wasn't that the original intention of the site?) I just get not so politely referred back to a tutorial that if I had understood in the first place I would not have had questions. Last but not least on my list of reasons I seldom go to MTS2 anymore is the fact that though the modders can group up to make these big sets or pair off to help each other on projects only 1 time was an object request actually followed through on.  Now I relize that its not easy to do (hell if it were I would already be doing it) but even simple things like a floor pattern or wallpaper that could be done quickly enough by those with paintshops were ignored and I am working an a really large project house that could be much more realistic with a little help and was going to be posted on site for all to enjoy.  Changing the format was just the last straw for me as now I cannot find things without spending a ton of time hunting through pages and pages of stuff.  At least in the old format it marked what I had previously viewed so I would not have to waste time (du'oh I have been here already). Yes I still go there and will continue to do so but less frequently since I seldom have that much time to spare these days, and I will not post my goodies on forums run by wannabe's who only put their friends out there for the world  to see.  And before you mistakenly think that I should have voiced this to MTS2 understand that I did and recieved no reply other than to say that if my stuff wasn't put up for download than to just keep trying. So for me it was not just a matter of the change that keeps me from visiting often its also the way the site is run.  I am glad you came here to answer questions and are able to put a bug in a few ears and get some positive change going there.

Thanks Motoki I will have to check them out.  I am really anxious to see if I can get my escalator and chainlink fence done. Would like to work on my electric chair some too but that also involves coding and well lets just say that results have been less than positive (unless you want to create a large graveyard the minute you place an object on a lot, lol).
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: It burns! on: 2005 October 06, 17:32:13
I thought I was the only one who hated the new look at MTS2.  Way too difficult to find things and wading through the garbage just to find a few recolors is way too time consuming for me at this point.  If I had a paint program I would just make my own stuff, all these damn meshes to play with and no way to finish them and since I am not in the 'clique' no one is willing to help (but many of them can get togeather and make sets, go figure).  I get more help here so this is where I go.
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Preferrable Houses on: 2005 September 30, 17:44:17
I tend to only download houses that have significant terrain changes.  I can make houses that are simple but the more spectacular ones like 'mike inside' with mountain paths and underground houses are things that are harder to do and I will get them to see how they are done.  I have never had a problem with terrain paints and have a high end machine so the lag is rarely there.  Some furniture like toilets and counters is ok but generally I will delete the furniture and redecorate the interior. Most of what I build I don't upload due to the size of the lots-I make recreations of historical places and they tend to be quite large.  Right now I am working on a New York Asylum called "house on the hill" and even without wallpaper and decorations it is well over the 100,000 mark, and so huge that most would not be able to play it.  I will get the ones from others along these same lines, like that beautiful mosque on mts2 which has custom content such as roofing peices so custom content really depends on what it is.  My rule is if its simple enough for me to build in a hour or so than I dont download it.
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife Nightmare on: 2005 September 27, 05:20:59
It took me three days to install the new ep. After so many failed attempts I just uninstalled the whole thing, deleted the registry entry and reinstalled without any of my custom content or neighborhoods until I got uni done. Before putting NL on I put my neighborhoods and downloads back in, minus the hacks. THEN nl would install.  First time I ever had so much trouble with a game installation.
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: my sims no longer get mail on: 2005 September 05, 00:05:16
nope no zappers. I got mail delivery back in my hoods just not the uni ones.  I never move the sims out to private homes in uni so I am not sure if it is just the dorms.  May have to test the idea to see if it is just the dorms.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: my sims no longer get mail on: 2005 September 02, 07:23:24
I never keep them on my lot-too ugly, and last time I never even bought one.  I usually get one if I have issues or before a birth.  I just don't understand why its only my uni lots that get no mail.
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: my sims no longer get mail on: 2005 September 01, 17:48:37
It is not a problem with the pay-at-the-box hack.  I had to remove that a long time ago when no matter what I did the repo man came.  It doesn't seem to matter what dorm I use-none of them get mail.  When I try to use the lot debugger I have no stuck bills.  Actually not getting the mail is a good thing for my simms but I have to wonder if it isn't going to be with a higher price later (like game crashing or other bugs that have yet to rear their ugly head).  Funny thing is that I am not getting any error log for this.  Things to make you go Hmmmmmm.
