426  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Create a sim and Makeup? on: 2006 October 24, 22:00:04
I've the same issue. It irks the hell out of me. lol
I can switch like the wind with even the heaviest hairstyles once the pages are all loaded, but so much as opening the glasses, makeup, etc categories causes -everything- to go laggy and choppy till I've waded through and selected the makeup and jumped back to faces or moved on to clothes.

It's enough to make me want to turn the whole town Grilled Cheese so no one farts hearts!
I'm pretty sure that would make it a million times worse, since Cheese sims are all but guaranteed 3 bolts with the other cheese sims...

Oh dear god no... -snatches up an anti-heart umbrella and hides under it-

The "eek another girl is taking a shower in the dorm's communal female shower!" is another irk for me, Kitt. rofl
Not all of my sims ARE outgoing, and regardless of their outgoing level, I don't understand (oh thank you so much eamethist, for bringing that up!) why someone who's woohooed another then shrieks two sim-minutes later at seeing them in the bathroom.

Yes, I get a kick out of the "ack! streaker!" thing, as well as the shock of someone nude in a front-yard hottub and I can understand that Maxis coding recognizes ALL of "outside" as one massive "room" and as such there's no way or no likely ability to make passersby NOT see someone naked in the hottub behind the house, but they have to have included SOME way to fine-tune this... right..? -crickets- I mean.. I realize this is MAXIS we're talking about.. and don't get me started on the "hey, hubby.. call me, yeah?" anim.. -grits teeth- It's enough to make me want to turn the whole town Grilled Cheese so no one farts hearts!

I'd really rather keep all the regular "hoshiz that stranger is naked!" shocks, but the "husband since graduation is naked in the shower" eek is beginning to grate on my nerves, and I've just started my first legacy so I can see this is going to become a big irk for me. lol

I did a search and all I could find (trust me to try here first) was an old thread suggesting a "no shock" hack. Is there any chance of being able to modify it or make a specifically targeted one?

JS, you are forever (or at least as long as I remember) in my list of people to send good vibes to. It works perfectly now and you have made me and the wife exceedingly happeh!  Cheesy

Didn't have time as I've just been informed I am... WAY... overdue to go to bed by a turribly grumpy man. -snickers- I will do it first thing when he wakes me up in a couple hours/days and post whether it was as simple as that. Thank you so much for the fast reply!

I AM Olive Specter, dimmit...

Suddenly, all of my cc has gone flashy blue.

Wife installed Glamour Life (against my better judgement) about a week ago, maybe longer, and after a couple glitches (such as needing to update the CEP file and remove my precious Pick Up Groceries On The Way Home-ish hack) everything has been working wonderfully.

Tonight, I installed (after backing up, of course) OFB, opened a previously played lot, and found acres of flashing blue content. Grah.

At first I thought maybe I clicked the wrong button on the "Warning! You customized us!" flag.. so I did make sure to go into the ". . ." section and tell it to allow cc, not to show me the warning, etc. I definitely hit the right button.

Is there any hope for me?
433  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / "Assign Baby To" hack..? Possible or Not? on: 2006 September 04, 23:04:08
Hello oh great gods (and goddesses, where applicable) of the mod....

The wife an I are having a huge problem in any house containing more than one adult & teens. Infant gets hungry, six people swarm the crib. For the next five minutes, they all bitch that someone is in the way and they can't get to the baby.
Now.. we really don't want to turn off the whole autonomous "baby needs something" bit as both of us tend to forget to check up on the infants. After all, for the time they're infant they don't do much but lay there or get held, stink up the place, and scream. I recently dl'ed a set of assignable cribs and it got me thinking.

We'd be forever grateful for a setup that allows you to choose ONE person to take care of baby A and ONE person to take care of baby B (as their "baby needs something" autonomy pops up) or at least to have whoever gets the pop up first cancel out everyone else mindlessly draggin-ass upstairs. If there's any way to combine it with a "DON'TDROPTHEBABY!" type thing so much the better.

Recap: Click on infant, assign infant A to mom, infant B to dad, etc.. If possible, once caretaker is finished fixing infant's issue or tires of carrying it, infant is immediately taken back to the crib and put in.
OR
Adult/Teen A pops up "baby needs something" and heads to take care of action, whilst every other adult & teen in a ten mile radius STOPS recieving the siren call and wanders off to pop a new action. If possible, Adult/Teen A, on finishing or tiring as above, carries it back to the crib rather than placing it on a cold tile floor. >.<

Hey guys, thanks for the advice & answers. The speed at which things get replied to on here blew me away. lol
Definitely do NOT want to be posting in the "Oops! You broke it" so I think I'm going to tell her to just deal with them all being a happy household and pretend they got married.
435  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: 'Fixing' the Curious house -- help! on: 2006 August 10, 18:14:46
Finally got rid of the stairs, so I figured I'd share what I did.  They're modular stairs ('Holey Smoke' things), and apparently the game treats each step as a separate object, which is why I couldn't delete the whole staircase, and why just forcing an error and resetting didn't fix it.  I ended up doing a 'force error/delete' on each individual step, which finally cleared them out.  Took some time, but the Curious brothers now have a two-story house which loads a lot faster. Smiley

I get the same thing. What I do is eyedropper one of the stairs, hover the bulldozer over a MIDDLE stair (doesn't seem to work on the top or bottom stair) and then click-doze through ONLY one or two stairs and poof, they're gone.
436  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Desperate for a "poly" hack... on: 2006 August 10, 18:11:35
Here's hoping I'm writing in the proper place. lol
I've been snooping the boards for a couple weeks now, finally got around to registering. Had I realized it was so damned easy I would have done it sooner, but I expected the usual "produce dna & bloodwork, commit to offering up firstborn male child" registration and acceptance forms.

I'm looking for a polygamy hack for my wife, whose sim family needs to marry. There's four of them, and they ALL are showing various "get engaged to ... " wants for each other, but we've discovered that once one is engaged, the others can't propose it, and her plan from the beginning (she used to do this in Sims 1 all the time, drives her bugnuts that she can't) was to have all four married to all four. Nyeh.. it gets confusing.

Jane wants to marry Joe, who wants to marry Kitty.
Kitty wants to marry Steve who wants to marry Jane.
Dreamy (wife) wants Jane to show marriage to Joe, Kitty, and Steve... and vice versa, as well as Joe showing Jane, Kitty and Steve... etc etc.
