251  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Inventor Sims, borked? on: 2010 June 20, 14:21:50
This is being discussed in three threads, this one, Product Registration Mod, and AWESOMEMOD 4.0.87 (AMB) TEST THREAD.  I have tested and confirmed that inventing works properly with AwesomeMod and Product Registration Mod when The Ultimate Career Bundle is decrapified and installed with the launcher.  I think Product Registration Mod would work if the bundle was installed as a package.  I don't understand why AwesomeMod will work when the SKU and EPVersion tags are left as Store, while Product Registration Mod requires them to be set to BaseGame in order to function.  I also have no idea why neither version seems to work with legit non-decrapified installs of the bundle.

My post was before they were being discussed anyway. I installed originally via a package installer, I have now installed them using the launcher, I will test it later as I have no play time right now (doing my essay), and will see the results. I was using the product registration mod, as well as AwesomeMod, but was still unable to get the 2 files, that could be because I had installed it using a package extractor though.
252  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Inventor Sims, borked? on: 2010 June 20, 10:18:16
Be sure to check the fambly inventory. Some items made do not appear in your sim's personal inventory, due to their size, and appear in the fambly inventory instead.

Nah they are not in the fambly inventory unfortunately.

@Morriganrant: yes the files were decrapified before I installed them.
253  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Product Registration Mod, Updated June 5th Again on: 2010 June 20, 04:51:51
I just tested inventing with only AwesomeMod and a test mod that set all inventions to level 10, except the 2 from the bundle which were set to 0.  I was able to invent the 2 bundle inventions.  I did install the bundle through the launcher though, so I'm not sure if it would work if it was installed as a .package.  I'll attach the mentioned test mod and hopefully someone who installed the bundle as a .package will test it.

Will test this and get back to you thanks.

Yup can confirm your little item works for anyone who may have installed their bundle as a package, like I did, THANKS!

Okay nevermind, it only  made them available in Debug to buy, however they are not learning for me, this could be because my sims is already at level 10 inventing, but spending another load of time trying to learn these 2 was unsuccesful. I'm going to try and reinstall the package using the launcher, for some reason it never works for me.
254  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Inventor Sims, borked? on: 2010 June 20, 04:48:41
Those two inventions came with The Ultimate Career Bundle and require product registration.  The newest AwesomeMod will bypass the product registration checks.  One of them is called air bender and the other is the claw machine.

I've got the latest AwesomeMod, and I am still unable to get these, I think I may have an idea why. Thank's for telling me, I was getting frustrated!

Edit: Just a note! Do not tutor other sims in inventing!! If you do it can cause you a lot of frustration and heartache, merely because they will learn all the items to make much more slowly, if not at all (My sim tutored her son and it's taking forever, it took him 2 days just to discover the time machine).
255  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Inventor Sims, borked? on: 2010 June 19, 12:37:40
Are there 'evil' inventions, similar to the evil toys in OFB? I haven't heard it mentioned anywhere yet, but if there were, that might be your missing 12%.

Failing that, have you checked the gamplaydata file against the the inventions you've made?

I'll have to look into this, I guess I'll cheat and make her evil and see what happens. I'm not sure how to check the gameplay data, never had the need to, I'll look into that I suppose.

Okay playing around with AwesomeMod that allows me to get extra options through testingcheats, I found these:

I didn't click on any to spawn them yet, as I don't want to f up my game, making a back up of it first before I do. I can guess what some are without having to look, fish tank I think may be the duck.

Okay so this is what I got:

WindUpToy is the Tentacled Wind Up
Leviton is the Floating Duck
Fish tank came up empty
StaticCoil was the Localized Static Tester
MoonGlove is the rotational pull
Drinking Llama, is as it says the Drinking Llama
Carousel is Flying Fighters
Robot came up empty
and Newtons Cradle is the Smasher

So possibly the robot and the fish tank are some of the missing inventions, to be able to spawn them I think they may be skill dependent.

Okay so there was an option "Learn all Inventions" I used it and I learnt 100%. Those 2 missing ones listed on the spawn are actually the missing 12%, however when I make them nothing appears in the inventory, so it looks like it's borked at the moment, hopefully they fix this soon.

Sounds like a problem I read about with pregnant elders. Apparently there's no clothes for them, so for the duration of pregnancy they have no body, just feet and head. Could it be something like that?
Elders can get pregnant?  Huh News to me. I took a pic and she is an elder female.

Do you have any pregnancy mods for teens etc?
257  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Inventor Sims, borked? on: 2010 June 19, 11:40:14
Stupid question:  Have you made the simbot yet?

Yup, I have made everything that was listed in all the guides I have read. I've made both female and male, I've made normal, improved and masterful inventions of every kind as well.
258  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 4.0.87 (AMB) TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 19, 07:31:29
This is something I experienced with the latest AM, I don't know if this is AM related though or possibly just a normal bug, but this is what happened:

This occured in China, I was attempting to play Chess for the sims life, but big ol' Grim decided to ignore me and instead do some martial art's skill.
259  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Inventor Sims, borked? on: 2010 June 19, 07:15:11
Alright I am not sure if I am missing something or not but here goes it.

I have a sim that is at level 10 of the inventor's career, I am now a Master Inventor and everything she makes comes out as "Masterful". The problem I am experiencing is that when I go to her Inventors skill log, where you can check out all the bonuses you have, it says that she has only learned 88% of the available inventions. I set her to invent for pretty much 5 days straight (just cheated so she didn't die), however all she ended up finding constantly was the retarded Gnomes of Invention. I have googled this, and looked up countless guides (most of them are retarded as heck), and found nothing. Anyone have any idea if this is a bug or if there are some other inventions out there? So far I have been able to make all the widgets, big inventions, toys and cheap toys I have seen listed.
260  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 4.0.87 (AMB) TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 19, 03:21:07
Had a random freeze lockup. Was playing fine, and it hit 7am when all the messages for my family to get a carpool would have popped up, and instead it froze. This was after I had just changed the mothers career to something new (she was an inventor, but I maxed it, so  I decided to make her join the political career). I was at the fastest speed at the time, also the derelict vehicles are still plaguing my neighbourhood and "towderelicts" does nothing to help me.

I also cannot find the option for "supreme commander" anywhere, I do have the extra options enabled, would that affect it?
261  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 4.0.87 (AMB) TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 18, 09:38:40
Okay so I am getting the random deaths while on vacation. Was at China with my fambly and about 3 different sims from the area died, no reason at all they were just using the martial arts training board and dropped dead randomly, it looked liked they starved to death. I tried to play chess for their lives, but the Grim Reaper ignored me.
262  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 4.0.87 (AMB) TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 17, 03:43:28
Okay another problem I have started to experience since installing AM is a different sort of lag to what I have seen posted. Whenever I go to enter buymode or buildmode, the game takes about 30 seconds until it actually DOES load up buy or buildmode, however it can instantly go back into SimMode. Anyone else?
263  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 4.0.87 (AMB) TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 17, 00:02:03
TheCatMeow: The disintegrating queue's is an EAxian problem, I've got that without any CC at all and before AM was even installed, you have to cancel the toddler's actions in order to remedy the problem, frustrating I know.

On another note, I played for about one hour last night until my game froze while my family were asleep. No warning's or errors, just completely froze up so I had to force quit. Also derelict cars are swarming my neighbourhood, I did use 'towderelicts' however it only removed two cars, there were still a lot left, and after using it once, it did not work again. Those are the only problems I've encountered so far.
264  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Pudding Factory is for downloads: put your lame requests & WCIFs here on: 2010 June 12, 10:27:01
Is it possible to make a mod that prevents your sims from spawning extra puddings while in the Time Machine? (By that I mean sometimes randomly when they go to the future or past, they end up coming back with some kid and it's annoying!)
265  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 10, 12:46:06
Using the latest AM 6/9/2010 10.35 pm I'm getting error 12 while saving.

That appears to be an EA error, did a search and found it existing long ago before AwesomeMod really. I got it last night without AwesomeMod installed.
266  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions: What's Fixed on: 2010 June 09, 07:25:30
More fun with the Time Machine produced this unique outfit for my sim:

267  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions: What's borked on: 2010 June 09, 06:04:56
Ghost Containers seem to stop glowing every so often. Fixed by simply grasping them with the hand of god, but still annoying.

Edit: Auto-replacing of damaged objects in town affects your home. Fire damaged objects will eventually replace themselves automatically at no cost! Not cool!

I didn't notice them replacing themselves over time, however, if you call up the repairman for something else, all burned/salvaged objects will suddenly be like new. In my case, this was a good thing, as a meteor strike borked both my mailbox and garden, making them impossible to interact with. Undecided

It may or may not have given me extra funds as well, or those could be from an opportunity I'd cashed in along the same time, wasn't paying all that much attention to household funds at the time. ("How am I gonna pay my damn bills now?" was more on my mind.)

I hate bb code.  Embarrassed

I had the same thing, except mine was from my sim detonating a car near her house, it ended up hitting a few things on her own lot.  I received mail later, and in it was $100,000 for my sim, least it got her out of her junkyard home!
268  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions: What's Fixed on: 2010 June 09, 00:10:32
Blackcat, this hadn't occured to me and sounds like a logical explanation for it. Mystery solved! @ LVRugger, this info didn't apply to my sim but this was good info to know too; thanks to you both.

ETA: Forgot to mention that EA has apparently replaced the 'maxmotives' command. Now you need to click on the mailbox and type 'make all happy'. I got this off of the official EA board; one of the drone-gurus posted it.

Um maxmotives was originally from Sims 2, it did not work in Sims 3 when it came out, Pes added that to his AwesomeMod to make it easier, with AwesomeMod you can use maxmotives Smiley
269  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions: What's Fixed on: 2010 June 08, 15:55:16
I have an Inventor Sim who I managed to get high enough to build a Time Machine. So I sent her to the past because she had a moodlet for it, now my plan was to keep this simple little sim single and carefree. What happens? I see she apparently saves some kid from a stampede, and all of a sudden the little thing is eating in my kitchen and sleeping on her bed. Now she has a son. Goodness knows how this immaculate conception arose, I want to know who the father is, more so what I do with him!

That's the thing I enjoy most about Ambitions so far, all the little Easter Eggs, like the tunnels while you mine, detonating an entire community lot etc
270  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 07, 12:26:41
Still having a job's problem, no CC and just the latest version of this test AM installed, and I'm still getting a problem. My sim is an interior decorater, I meet the requirements for his building in build mode, but the moment that I select to show it to his client, it clears it and they scold me. The worst part about it, is now with AM taken out I am still getting this bug!
271  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 06, 12:21:12
Think I read this earlier, but my Profession Job's have been broken since installing AwesomeMod, I now have it removed, but it is still broken. I have an interior decorator sim, and I place all the required items in the room, and "present" it to the owner, all the boxes then become unticked. Due to this I am unable to do anymore jobs with my sim.
272  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 06, 11:46:20
Removing AwesomeMod fixed the problem I was having with the derelict cars that were popping up all around my town.

Placed my sim onto the clipboard and was able to remove the items stuck in his family inventory, unfortunately I lost all relationships, sigh back to the drawing board, oh well!
273  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 06, 11:34:30
I don't know if it's related to Awesomemod, but all of my schools, even in brand new neighbourhoods, have re-purposed themselves as "small parks" and no one can go to school.

That is apparently AwesomeMod related according to a few previous posts. Are you having troubles with schools without the mod?

Regarding this, when I removed the mod I was able to use the school with no problem, with AwesomeMod it was classified as a park, and I was using the most current build that Pes has uploaded.

Rubyelf:

That is a sign of a damaged Sim. Last time that happened to me the savegame disintergrated a while later.

It hasn't seemed to have exploded just yet. Anyway I can fix this without losing my sim?

I can only think of using editSim with AwesomeMod, save a copy of the Sim and remake it with that template. Sorry. Maybe someone else will know another way.
If I were to do this, would I lose everything I've worked on him, he's almost maxed out on the Designer profession, and I'm currently working on his relationship with someone.

Alright, don't know if this is AwesomeMod, but it only seemed to have appeared after installing it. Randomly items from my Sims inventory will move to the family inventory, the items will tehn become unselectable, unsellable etc. They just sit there as ghosts, however the items are gone from the sims main inventory. Any ideas?

Also randomly some cars appear around my town as "Derelict" they are empty cars that just sit there doing nothing. Installing the updated one didn't fix the problem either, they are stuck there ><
