1  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: Sims 4 Annoyance & Problem Thread. on: 2014 September 15, 19:41:41
Well, a little OT, but as to clipping, I play many games from many different companies and quite frankly most of them have clipping. So, while EA might be evil, in this case clipping seems to be an industry standard. Examples would be all of the Fable games, Assassins' Creed Black Flag (the rest too, but that is most recent), all of the Mass Effects (oops, still EA), GTA, etc. Basically, anything that lets you change clothes.

Guess not. Shrugs and leaves.
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Cannot bypass the launcher; extra folder "Packs" in the Bin folder on: 2013 October 05, 14:50:55
My own shortcut, which quite frankly I have had from the beginning and have never, ever changed, way back when the Sims Gurus gave this info to bypass the launcher when it didn't work at all at game launch and people were not able to run their game at all, has always worked. I now have a mixture of purchased and purloined expansion and stuff packs and this shortcut always works and never brings up the launcher. So, I don't think it can be a purchased problem. I got my .exe from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\TS3W.exe".

Ok, so, 1313 Mockingbird Lane

2 bed, 2.5 bath
30 x 30 lot
148324 furnished/ 79579 unfurnished
playtested

Download: http://www.mediafire.com/download/4o32ev340cn22ar/1313_Mockingbird_Lane.Sims3Pack

I do have all of the store stuff and all expansions and most
stuff packs plus I did use some extra CC, listed here just in
case it does not travel: (study) Simply Styling, painting,
flower double 01; (child's bed) Pink Rabbit, painting, square
dino painting; (master and living) One Billion Pixels, candles
and holders, (that's the name on the site, candles and
holders).

Ok, so I went with an eclectic colour scheme (my son has
dubbed it ass kissing - lots of purple, since I have decorator
ADD and needed to focus on something), and Skadi, do you know
how hard it is to find dino stuff!? Yeesh! But, since purple
and dinos are included, do I get extra points? lol

Edited because I'm a total idiot that forgot the damn download link.

Skadi, are there any price limits? I was inspired by this one, but my house is currently a little large and a lot expensive, and it's not even finished yet. I don't know whether to hope for constraints or not.
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: KT's Store Fixes (updated 08.13.2013) on: 2013 August 24, 17:04:54
Well, it only came up as blocked once I hit the download (actually, it only comes up once I hit save in the bottom download bar) and I download stuff from Mediafire all the time with no problems, had in fact just downloaded something (CC clothing, to be precise) just before trying to download KT's stuff. I was also able to download a CC house from Mediafire after the alerts from KT's stuff, using IE.

Which is why I was thinking that it's KT's stuff that's specifically flagged.
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: KT's Store Fixes (updated 08.13.2013) on: 2013 August 24, 13:55:37
Hey, KT, just a heads up, Microsoft Smart Save Filter, on IE is blocking your stuff. It has identified all of your stuff except the store patch as malware. I was able to download with firefox no problem, but I just thought I'd let you know.
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Plots / Re: Lot Challenge, May 2013, FOUNDATION on: 2013 May 28, 18:25:19
Ok, for my second submission I have, still going with the ironic names theme, 2 Creative Way.

This is a 2 bed, 1 bath beach bungalow on a 20 x 30 lot. It features large decks with a pool, fire pit, a bar for both those outdoor parties and practicing your bartending and a dance area. Inside the house there is wood flooring and it features the calm greys  and blues of the beach, with bright pink and orange accents in the bedrooms. The second bedroom has been decorated for a teen girl.

The cost is $30 250 furnished or $18 972 not. Wanded.

9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Plots / Re: Lot Challenge, May 2013, FOUNDATION on: 2013 May 28, 17:37:44
Ok then, here goes. Compared to Phoenixc's stuff, I'm kinda embarrassed to even post this but what the hell. I shall not scorn the generous help I was given.

This first house is modern, but family friendly. It is a 2 bedroom with 1 bath on a 30 x 30 lot. The 2nd bedroom has been set up for a baby, there is a fenced pool, a children's play area and a as yet un-started garden area. The living area is sunken (and if anybody could tell me why the heck it stays dark as sin with out lots of lights, even if there is no roof over that area, I would appreciate it! I scrapped my first idea of a greenhouse type area because of the darn darkness!)

The cost is $69 915 furnished or $32 495 not. Wanded http://www.4shared.com/file/z65Vj3B8/1_Creative_Way.html

Although I love modern, I was feeling rather minimalistic on the day I created it, so it's all white walls with blue accents but there's also a softness, in the bits of wood used, and in the rounded shapes of the desk and the plushness of the dining chairs to add warmth. I usually prefer lots and lots more colour.

Oh, and I've rather ironically named it 1 Creative Way. (laughs at self over this)

Oops, sorry about the random horse. I actually have the horses set to off in the filter, but gee, them thar filters don't seem to be working right. Who would've ever thought?

Edited to add the price and a link for the darn thing! I was so nervous about getting the darn pics right I forgot vital info.
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Plots / Re: Lot Challenge, May 2013, FOUNDATION on: 2013 May 19, 20:56:48
Well, I've got some questions, if anyone would be kind enough to help. Quite frankly, I have no idea on how to get the screenshots I took of my creations into my darn post and be useful. I stupidly don't even know what to ask google, so I am throwing myself on the mercy of this thread and am asking for help.

I have tried uploading my screenshots to imageshack, but, they come out too small to see any detail in my post. I know that people can be ripped apart on this forum for asking stupid questions, and I realize I should be able to do this, but again, frankly, I have a cornucopia of medical problems and medications that have destroyed my memory and ability to concentrate. So, I guess I'm asking for a little hand holding.

Please?

11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Plots / Re: Lot Challenge, May 2013, FOUNDATION on: 2013 May 11, 19:20:02
Ok, I have never tried a building challenge before, so, I have to ask, is porch considered foundation? Like, if I wanted to add a porch in addition to the foundation, used exclusively as outdoor space? I'm just trying to clarify before I get too far done and then realize I have to tear down or start over.
12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Store Patch 2.0 on: 2012 November 26, 05:39:51
KT, I was wondering what to do in the case of having both package and decraped store files. I have all of the packages that Moyire (sp?) made before s/he quit making them and then moved into decrapping everything else since. I have thought of just decraping all the store stuff, but some of the links to the older stuff don't seem to work anymore and it doesn't seem to have been reposted/reuploaded.

Any advice?

13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Suddenly have a store world I didn't install. (Lucky Palms) on: 2012 September 10, 05:46:48
Well, I'm more than willing to accept that I did this myself, my only caveat on this whole thing, which I forgot to mention is that in my installed Worlds folder there only exists Riverview and Hiddensprings, no sign of Lucky Palms. Which is what led to my befuzzelment.

But, since I now know that just decrapping and launcher installing can work for the worlds I just may give the other ones a go.
14  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Suddenly have a store world I didn't install. (Lucky Palms) on: 2012 September 10, 01:53:31
Basically, the situation is:  I have all expansions, all but last 2 stuff packs, all legit. I also have all of the store stuff from here except any of the worlds, in a complicated mix of Moyire's packages for the earlier and decrapped sims3packs of the stuff that came after along with KT's fixes for stuff. I do have the extras from the worlds, like the blackjack table from Lucky Palms and the massage table from Sunlit Tides, etc. I do own Hidden Springs (legit.). My CC is installed both manually and by the dreaded launcher, I don't question why my system of doing things works, it just does.

So, after not playing for a few months, and then recieving Supernatural and updating my game installing it (having removed my mods first) I started up the game, mod free, just to make sure it worked. I then plunked in my CC (no mods yet, just the "stuff") and on booting it back up I noticed I was then missing some content, like the pet shop from Pets and Riverveiw and Hidden Springs. I went onto the EA site, redownloaded my missing stuff, booted my game back up and I now suddenly have a working Lucky Palms.(I've tested - played some of it- everything in it works perfectly and is named appropriately) I did not buy this world, nor did I ever download it much less install it.

So, my question is why did this happen? I can't imagine that EA has suddenly, generously sneaked a hidden world into one of my other ones, and even if EA spyware was detecting the items from the world and had mistakenly listed it as available, it surely shouldn't work. Oh, one other thing, I stupidly, stupidly, signed into my EA account while in game (until that point I hadn't had the ridiculous "ads" in buy mode and now I do, even though I signed back out and disconnected from the net for a bit, along with rebooting not just my game, but my computer too - all done before I installed my legit worlds) so I don't know if that would have any bearing on it.

My only thought is that I did actually somehow do this myself, that Lucky Palms was included in a sims3pack of the stuff of the world, but if that is so, I was under the impression that just decrapping it and installing through the launcher would either not let the world work or the world would have gibberish instead of lot/place names.

Any info would be appreciated.
15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Premium Content Fix (updated 03.14.2012) on: 2012 March 17, 14:43:09
Thank you for the answers. Since I did my own framework, that would explain why I've never seen it before and my fixes folder is essentially the same thing.
16  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Premium Content Fix (updated 03.14.2012) on: 2012 March 16, 13:07:44
At the risk of sounding stupid, where exactly should an overrides folder be? I've never had one, and have never had any real problems with my mods/cc. I do have things that I think could be considered overrides, but I just stick them in seperate folder I call fixes that is in my mods folder. (I sort of have that "a place for everything and everything in it's place" thing going on with my content - I like to be organized).

So, I guess I am asking, is my fixes folder an overrides folder, just with my own name, or is an overrides folder actually supposed to be called that and placed somewhere specific? Because I have 0 problems with my mods/cc working.
17  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2011 October 18, 18:29:26
I deleted, then reinstalled (I have the zips saved in a file, sort of for a just in case reserve, like now) Moryrie's package files and they are all working normally. At least so far.  Although, I haven't tried the "extra play" stuff like the massage chair or book of magic. I guess testing those are next.

Update:  the book of magic works, but I also have a book/fountain of youth fix I found here also. The massage chair doesn't exactly work right, the sim goes through the animations, but while facing the wrong way. It doesn't seem to have harmed the save, but again, at least for now.

Other than that, I haven't found a single problem, even the package files of the lots (placed in the library folder) show up and are decorated correctly.
18  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Please help for I am stupid and can't figure out how to make sacred NPC's. on: 2011 September 11, 17:20:15
You have to do the control-click from the town view to make the household sacred.
19  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Pudding Factory is for downloads: put your lame requests & WCIFs here on: 2011 April 17, 02:01:44
Madam Mim, have you tried Twallen's Woohooer mod? It has a setting for same sex pregnancy, and there are seperate settings for male and female, so if you don't want male/male pregnancy you don't have to have it. It is completely compatible with AM, I use it myself with no problems.
20  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Good versions but AM doesn't working on: 2011 February 05, 21:03:23
Look, unless you are using the TEST version of AM, then you do NOT have the current one. Therefore, if you have a completely updated game, then the versions are obviously incompatable. Your choices then become, wait for the new version to be "officially" released or find the test version.

To the regulars: I know, I know, not supposed to help, encourages stupidity. At least I did not give the test version's location. My only excuse is that I got fed up with the damn whining.
21  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 December 11, 05:32:42
I have a question about AM Story Mode. Absolutely nothing happens when I have it enabled and have EA's story mode disabled in the options panel. I have inform on story action enabled in the config, and with that set up I get literately nothing. When I have AM's story mode enabled and EA's story mode enabled I do get popups telling of romances, people going to work, people skilling, the odd "so and so has learned a trait of so and so."  I get no marriages, no spawn, with any configuration. I am currently playing in Bridgeport.

My question is, do they both have to be enabled to have any progression? I could not find any info in the rtfm or through searching the site. I am also wondering how to get marriages and spawn. I have placed a few cribs in the city but it hasn't made any difference.
22  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Purely technical question about lag. on: 2010 October 11, 18:51:46
Well, as soon as I get some actual time to sit down and merge, I will. I'm sure it will help in general.

On a side note, though, I tried removing all CC/Mods including store stuff from the actual store and tried with a completely vanilla game. I am still getting the lag in France. What the Hell is it about France? Is it using more memory for some reason? Does the destination itself just contain more stuff? I am unable to play in Windowed mode at the moment (a seperate, long story), so I am unable to moniter the resourses being used there.

I can only conclude that it is from the game itself, or it is my processor.
23  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Purely technical question about lag. on: 2010 October 10, 14:04:36
Yes, the slowly-filling-in-textures thing is normal. What it indicates is that YOU NEED MOAR RAMS.

How much more would you suggest? I would have thought 8 GBs to be sufficient, most people are playing with 4 and under.

Have you tried defragmenting your hard drive and lowering the High detailed lots setting to say bellow 3 or even 1?

I defrag every couple of days and my High detailed lots setting is at three. I will have to try lowering it, see what kind of visual/performance level I get and if I can live with it.

It's the game. I have a configuration more or less like yours and that happens to me too. The engine's made that way, the game loads the textures on the current lot the camera is centered on and that takes time, so until it happens you will only see white meshes of the objects. It will stop to annoy you after a time. Just bear in mind what Sims 2 was like (having to wait for loading screens all the time) and what Sims 3 is like now and this issue becomes irrelevant.
If you jump between several lots i suggest you go to Settings ingame and enable more high detailed lots. In that way the textures from the lots and their detail will remain in the RAM and will take far less time to load up when you revisit it.

Hmm, this advice seems contrary to to ascarrott's. I guess I will try both, see what I get. Like I said, it's more curiosity than anything. And perhaps I was wishing for someone to say "it's your processor!" to "create" a vailid excuse to get a better one. lol
24  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Purely technical question about lag. on: 2010 October 09, 21:12:15
My computer specs are:

9600 Quad Core AMD Phenon 2.3 GHz
8 G DDR 2 RAM
nVidia Geforce GTX 460 vid card
XP Professional 64 bit
Approximately 60 GB of hard drive space left free. (17%)

Question is: is it my computer or just the game when I get lag. The game lags especially in France and it does lag in the homeworld, in this case Sunset Valley, when the lot being played has been expanded and "beautified" with lots of stuff, but I would expect that.

The lag causes the game to make the place I am going to come up slowly, with objects filling in first in grey, then becoming what they really look like.

This is an old, bloated save, but it does happen in France in a newly made game. Oh, and I don't have an FPS limiter, but it is my understanding that nVidia's force synch means I don't need it. Plus, I do have various (not tons, but a fair amount, hair, furniture, clothing and LOTS of patterns and pictures, and are a mix of .packages and Sims3packs.) CC and a few mods, Awsome Mod, the no Mosaic, and Buzzlers dig site fixer.

This is not really a problem, just slightly annoying, and I am really just curious. Oh, and my computer is a household one and is used for heavy gaming, MMOs, FPS, RPGs and have Steam (I know, I know... ).

Ah, edited to add: I forgot to say I have WA/HELS/Amb, if it matters.
25  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Jealous much? on: 2010 August 26, 03:02:33
I would actually like to pipe into this too. I am also having this problem, I tried taking out AM, all CC, and my other 2 mods, the no mosaic (while the sitting on toilets with clothes on is disturbing, the blur bugs me more) and Buzzler's dig site fixer.

Once I had removed those and started a new clean town the jealousy worked. I did use the same sims for my testing as are in my save game.
