1  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: Sims 4 Annoyance & Problem Thread. on: 2014 September 06, 04:53:57
  • A way to tone down the weight gain/muscle building.  I like the concept, but it seems really extreme right now.

The above along with a reduction in the number of people dropping in the street to do pushups and situps. Maybe only athletic aspiration sims should be so inclined.

Just in case anyone else gets this problem: When starting the game, I got bitched at for not having the CD in the drive. But removing aweconf.package fixed it, it started up fine now with no bitching.

Create a new config that ensures you have the CD check-disabler enabled?

I'm honestly not surprised the long hair moves similarly to the Maxis long hair since, well, it looks basically the same as the Maxis long hair.

I might be picking on your post but this is a general statement.

TS3 HAIR IS NOT ANIMATED!!!!

What you see is bone assignments so it does not clip with the body, if it moves like Maxis hairs at least she is doing something right, I recall IMPALING HAIR!!! in TS2 since some never bothered with that and even she did it with some of her hairs until she finally started doing proper bone assignments.

The only clipping issue I seen was with the Store pink bow Formal dress but that dress does not work very well with long hair (the bow sticks up and so it clips).

No, what I was saying was that the one hair that moves at all is basically an edit of a Maxis hair and nothing really very customized about it so of course it moves, she didn't have to do anything. Her other offerings are impaling hair plastic wigs.
4  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Who wants to a beta tester? Peggy releases first non replacing mesh on: 2009 July 19, 01:59:29
I guess we should be slightly thankful that someone (even if it was Peggy) figured out custom hairs, and now I'll stick to hoping like hell that Nouk is going to make custom hairs for Sims 3.

Nouk hasn't been seen very often if at all on other sites since shutting her site down and pulling out of WickedNoukFamily.  I wonder if she's moved on to other things.

HP has said on the MTS boards that she has permission from Nouk to convert her meshes to TS3 when the capability is there to not replace default hairs. So...I guess any time now?

They look as stiff as ever, especially the pay one.

8  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Any information on core mod compatability? on: 2009 July 12, 11:44:20
edalbformat, that wall-o-text boiled down to whining about things that can already be changed in xml tuning (e.g. there is already a mod for apples/watermelons not affecting gender for those of us who want it) and saying you want to mod the game the way you want it.  If that's the case, learn to program. None of us can do EXACTLY what we want with the game unless we learn to mod it ourselves, and it's been that way since TS1.
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Easy way to Magical gnomes and are they bugged? on: 2009 July 06, 20:23:21
Renaming your magical gnome demagics it.  Undecided
I think this must be true. One of my One Fambly's four Gnomes is in its original position, never kicked, never moved. I gave it a name and it has never been magical. Sad

I don't think this can be right either - my first gnome had a name (straightaway after my sim caught him - George, I think it was) and he was off round the lot like a rocket.

Interesting. It's just a bit weird, I suppose, that 1 of these 4 gnomes hasn't moved in 3 generations of the family -- they were all found and placed during the founder's lifetime. 2 of the others did move around a bit, but have completely stopped since I put them into the 2nd generation's fenced garden; the 4th gnome never moved either, but he was also kicked, so it's hard to say. Are gnomes bugged, or is my One Fambly's set of gnomes just extraordinarily lazy? Does the fenced garden have anything to do with it?
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Legacy Challenge for TS3 on: 2009 July 06, 18:19:17
It seems to me a lot of people just heard the basic gist of TS2 legacy (spawn 10 generations, don't cheat, maybe a few other details) and didn't notice the enormous list of rules that were included...even in the base game. TS3 legacy is quite simplified in comparison, but I suppose if you only thought there were 2-5 details in the original it seems more complex.

The Forehead Square is absolutely HP's attempt at 'shine'. Take a picture of an HP skinned Sim and do a side-by-side comparison to the game's defaults; it's night and day.

14  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Sims 3 Expansion In My Head on: 2009 July 03, 15:11:53
Let's be realistic: OFB out of the box was crap. The employees were utterly retarded to the point of unusability, and the amount of senseless micromanagement was staggering. There was absolutely no facility for aiming lots for any purpose or clientele. What was REALLY worthwhile in it was the potential to own and control other lots...which was only available through AwesomeWare. That's what you really want.

I did actually like running a shop, i.e. selling things as well as owning and controlling other lots -- which admittedly was unbearable without AwesomeWare. Combining that without the crazy time-warp would actually make me really happy with TS3.

I would like to be able to mortgage to buy a decent house for my Sims  Angry

I'm so tired about the fact that if I want to play without cheating, I have to buy a small and ridiculous ugly house and stupid furnitures and I have to live in this little pitty house for about three generations before THINKING leaving the house for a bigger one...

If I would have the chance to mortgage to buy a beautiful house and decent furniture when I start the game exactly as human do... they go to the bank and make a mortgage and then, buy their house... and... pay after  Grin

I'm sure someone can do a little program or hack here and realize my wish  Grin Grin Grin

I don't know why on earth it would take you 3 generations to build a decently sized house. My legacy family was able to rebuild from hut to shack to 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 1 garage monstrosity before the second generation was a teenager. Making money in this game -- as in TS2 -- is ridiculously easy.

That being said, you don't even need a hack or a mod. Just motherlode your way to a beautiful new house, then use familyfunds to fake a mortgage payment every time they can afford it. Or download the bigger-bills mod from MTS.
16  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Complete Painting Guide on: 2009 July 02, 22:22:55
Nice guide.

8. SIDE NOTES
Photography - It seems that the code fully supports your painting sim taking pictures of 4 different sizes and applying effects to the photos at different skill levels.  However, there is no "camera object" to be found, nor is there an object for the resulting photos.

This bit certainly points toward proper photography being added at a later date, aside from the fairly crappy cell phone pics.

edit: Unless, I suppose, it just means the hidden 'skill' for taking crappy cell phone pics. In which case, meh.

EnablePedophilia - makes TeenWoohoo mods redundant, or is it just another enabler like Enable12Woohoo?

If I don't like the traits I get for the heirs while doing randomizing, may I roll again? Or do I have to accept the 1st roll.

No.

Well, you can, but then you're cheating. It's supposed to be random; if it was just "traits you like", then the rules would let you pick them yourself to begin with.
20  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 31, 23:52:48
Has anyone arr'd the newer torrent that claims to be the final release + patch that EAxis has already released? It's close enough to release date that I think it might be legit. I'm wondering if anyone has gotten both and compared.

I think it was a Nightlife bug (or 'feature', depending on how you decide to look at it...).

TwoJeffs have a "no lottery move in" hack, dunno if it's updated for Pets yet though.

I don't think TwoJeffs made a hack addressing this, but the no lottery move in was made by Jase (inTeen creator), and it's at http://box156.bluehost.com/~aestudi1/forums/inteenimater/viewtopic.php?t=54
It's not updated for Pets yet AFAIK, though.

Morphar, I didn't fully check your file, but it seems your neighborhood hasn't corrected Lola Singles at the very least.  Huh

(I've already corrected Strangetown in my game and have it saved as a backup while I'm fussing with this isolated test neighborhood -- downloaded yours to see if I could save myself the trouble of restoring from backups.)
24  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Correcting the DNA of Strangetown premade characters on: 2006 November 15, 17:48:50
Well, I am not rolling my eyes. I am anxiously awaiting an answer to your question, too.   Grin

I went ahead and edited, since this is an isolated Windows profile and won't affect my 'main' neighborhoods/profile. It seems I have the correct order, but if anyone wants to tell me otherwise I welcome it. Wink
25  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Correcting the DNA of Strangetown premade characters on: 2006 November 15, 16:35:45
Hi guys, I hate to be tedious, but I am trying to figure this out.

I'd certainly love to be able to download a file from http://web.mac.com/simsbaby/iWeb/Simscorner/Downloads.html and plunk it in without messing about in SimPE (I'm relatively unskilled with SimPE). But, I can't. Tongue  The link doesn't work; I did find http://web.mac.com/simsbaby/iWeb/Simscorner/Downloads/Downloads.html which doesn't include any downloads for Strangetown as far as I can see.

So, I've been trying to puzzle out how to do it manually with the latest version of SimPE (0.60). It looks like this:

PT#9's new DNA
1 (dtString): 00000004-0000-0000-0000-000000000000
2 (dtString): 6baf064a-85ad-4e37-8d81-a987e9f8da46
268435457: 00000004-0000-0000-0000-000000000000
268435458: 6baf064a-85ad-4e37-8d81-a987e9f8da46
268435459: 12d4f3e1-fdbe-4fe7-ace3-46dd9ff52b51
268435461:
268435462: 6baf064a-85ad-4e37-8d81-a987e9f8da46
3 (dtString): 12d4f3e1-fdbe-4fe7-ace3-46dd9ff52b51
4 (dtString): -858851246:2142037590:1
5 (dtString): brow,mouth,cheek,cheekbones,eyes,ears,
6 (dtString): 6baf064a-85ad-4e37-8d81-a987e9f8da46

So I'd fill in...

Dominant Gene:
Eye: 12d4f3e1-fdbe-4fe7-ace3-46dd9ff52b51
FacialFeature: brow,mouth,cheek,cheekbones,eyes,ears,
Hair: 00000004-0000-0000-0000-000000000000
Skintone: 6baf064a-85ad-4e37-8d81-a987e9f8da46
SkintoneRange: 6baf064a-85ad-4e37-8d81-a987e9f8da46

Recessive Gene:
Eye: 12d4f3e1-fdbe-4fe7-ace3-46dd9ff52b51
FacialFeature:
Hair: 00000004-0000-0000-0000-000000000000
Skintone: 6baf064a-85ad-4e37-8d81-a987e9f8da46
SkintoneRange: 6baf064a-85ad-4e37-8d81-a987e9f8da46

I'm sure you're all rolling your eyes at me by now, but I want to make sure I'm doing this correctly. Smiley I don't need Veronaville info, so the stuff provided here for Strangetown is enough--I just want to make sure I'm putting things in the right places.
