St Claire has been upadted for supernatural and seasons :

http://awesims.sixty-ten.net/2013/01/28/st-claire-a-world-for-the-sims-3-updated-for-seasons-supernatural/

Didn't try it yet so I have no further opinion about it but it's also supposed to have been cleaned of bugs and populated more.
2  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2011 October 23, 01:03:29
With Awesomemod breeding horses doesn't cause pregnancy. The animation plays fine, however there is no 'impregnation successful' sound nor foal after any amount of time. Without Awesome all seems fine (apart from pathfinding).
Testing with other animals including sims.

I'm playing with AM, and I have no problem breeding my horses. I just got the message saying that my mare is prengnant.
But I have Twallan's Woohooer too, so maybe that's the reason as it affects pets Woohoo as well...

I don't think it was really that bad of a question considering how this thread was created.

Quote
It's been a while since I last used AwesomeMod. I have a few basic questions:
Will it work with everything up to Outdoor Living?
Which thread do I use for download?
Which thread do I use for install instructions?

Also wizard_merlin said you need the test version for 1.22 or 1.19 for the current one. However, the manual on the download page for the regular AM says 1.22.

You answered your own question, it works as said on the download page.

It's my non French side speaking.
That's the thing when you're bi-cultural, one side of you sometimes feels the urge to point and laugh at you other side.

I can relate to that. But even so, don't you sometimes get the urge to defend that very same side?

Absolutely !
Sometimes it leads to very interesting though strange discussions with myself.
But it's not very often.

Of course  I won't stand someone else pointing and laughing at one of my countries even if I was doing the same myself only moments ago  Roll Eyes

Still I won't get upset, just won't be able to stand listening without pointing to the other side of the coin and telling about all the great things that also exist in said country.
In all fairness I'll probably even begin with "You're not wrong, but ...."

Well except if it's someone I dislike ! Then there will be fighting  Angry

I know there is a long-standing tradition in English to criticise all things French, but don't feel you, as a French person, have to be self-denigrating.  After all, the French have given the world a lot of things, such as wine that you can call either burgundy or claret, Quebec, and that thing where you spit after you say something to express displeasure.

Also, without there being real French people, English speakers could not do comedy in outrageous French accents.

Don't sell yourself short.

I don't sell myself and other French people short, I love a lot about France, French people and French culture, but I also know it's faults.

It's my non French side speaking.
That's the thing when you're bi-cultural, one side of you sometimes feels the urge to point and laugh at you other side.
The problem being that if you're living in the country of the side being laugh at it's hard to find people to share the fun.

I think you all speak remarkably good English for a bunch of foreigners.  Tongue

Of course, my English isn't perfect, but then, I've spent too much time in the US, or watching the myriad TV shows they export to over here, so I'm polluted, or corrupted, or possibly both. Either way I remain English. God save the language, because I do think we are on the slippery slope to a global tongue, and it won't be "English English".

Oh, and Jezabel, your English is way better than my French, so I don't think you have anything to worry about. I do try, but as you say, unless you can think in the language, you can't really speak it without messing up the flow of it. I can get by, but every Frenchman knows the minute I open my mouth that I'm English, even if I don't start my sentences with "Um..."

TV shows, books and horse-riding trips around the world where all the other tourist were English are the ways I learned to speak it.

Some pointers on how to better integrate in french culture even if you don't speak it perfectly : throw some "merde !" here an there, complain about everything and be vocal about it and remember that french are always right just because they are french so don't try to argue with them.

Really, being french is not that hard even though speaking the language can be!

Of course then the question would be : who the heck would want to integrate in french culture when he doesn't have to ?  It's french !   Wink

I have one of the teens maxing his sculpting skill.
After breakfast I make him sculpt and when the school bus arrives he finishes the sculpture instantly even if he just began  30 in-game min before.

Did someone else notice this ?

Yes. I wonder if it makes any difference that my insta-sculpting teen had raised sculpting a lot as a kid, making sandcastles, or it affects all teens.

Mine didn't make any sandcastle. I didn't even know he could raise sculpting like that : good to know !

But he had his first skillpoints with the after school activities. He already was a teen though not a child so I'm not sure it's the same.

Also it seems it's only when the school bus arrives that it happens, not when you cancel the sculpting action on the queue for another reason.

Now my teen is grown up so I'll try making him sculpt before the carpool arrives to see if it happens with work as it did with school.

9  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Updater (v2.6 - Updated 05/25/2011) on: 2011 June 13, 11:33:34
It's possible that I'm completely wrong but I double checked and I'm pretty sure it's not the case : the updater isn't working for generations. Don't know about an earlier EP with the latest patch (1.22).

It works as far as downloading the proper AM version and installing it as it should be.
But the booter and most of all the FPS limiter are placed in the wrong directory.

With this EP things have changed, there is a Generations folder but the new main exe is not there : it's in the basegame directory. So Booter and FPS limiter should be placed there too and not in the generations directory.
That's what I did manually and ran the game from there and it works fine.

For those who keep using the updater since they installed Generations : are you all sure that FPS limiter is working fine?
Nope, it doesn't place them in the right directory, and I'm very well aware of that.

Since the 1.22/Generations version of AM is still in testing, I figured I would leave it this way and release v2.6.1 (which, of course, works properly) when AM is considered stable.
I didn't want to create a situation like 'if you have this patch, use this version, if you have that patch, use that one' et cetera.

If you want, you can use the one attached below. It's still in 'beta', but should work fine.

[/quote]

Very understandable, that's why I didn't post here before. I was waiting for you to update when Am would become officially Generation's compatible.

I decided to state the FPS limiter problem because I saw a lot of people here saying they were using your installer with Generations so or I was wrong or they were playing without FPS and were risking to fry their graphic card.

I'll install and try this and let you know if I find any issue.
Thanks !

You'll say UFO (unknown unidentified flying object), and we would say OVNI (objet volant non identifié = object flying not identified).

Indeed, even English speakers don't always agree.

Yes that's not very helpful but at least things aren't too boring that way !

American or Brit, English it's as hard for us poor French.

Not only because some "two words" are "one word" for us and the other way around (cheap doesn't exist in France and it's  not only because of the economical crisis. The word doesn't exist we say "not expensive" or  literally "good market" (bon marché).

But that's not the most confusing.
The worst are "it" we only have feminine and masculine, we don't know what to do or when to use "it".
And the way we phrase things.
You'll say UFO (unknown flying object) we say OVNI (objet volant non identifié = object flying not identified).

To be able to speak in another language the trick is to be able to think in that language. If you form the sentence in your mother tongue and then try to translate you'll fail.
When speaking it's highly impractical because it's very slow and when you write it's more manageable but you'll never be able to phrase things properly. You'll end up writing as if you used an online translator.

Anyway, thank you Witch, I'm happy to know that I'm not that bad and certainly will continue to post when I have something relevant to share.
I usually don't feel the need to post because what I have to say or ask has already been said or answered. It's just about looking in the right place.

For those wondering I'm french, Doesn't excuse the mistakes though as I could have re-read once more and/or used a tool to check the spelling.
I was at work and didn't have enough time to do so.

My bad! I should have waited to be home as I fully know that proper grammar/spelling is expected when posting here.
Will do so next time.

I usually don't answer in this kind of threads but I don't know why today I can't resist.

^^these kind of threads or this kind of thread

Strangely enough I had used the search quite a lot. But thanks to a couple of members here, I now know the secret ....and I don't actually see how I was expected to know that.

As already stated by madame Mim you are expected to understand how folder pathing works. You would then have been able to find the test folder without anyone's help.

I've never pretended to understand the logic of this board or its denizens, but I do happen to think the software here is the best. So BAH!

The logic is very easy to understand:

If you're not able to find the test version of AM by yourself you won't be able to test and report bugs properly. You'll still ask for help when your game will gets borked and instead of beeingbeing helpful in the testing process you'll be a bother thus slowing said process.

That's why MattyATY denizens don't want the test version to be given to just anyone thatwho want'swants it.

Oups... seems that I have still a lot of work before I'm good at speaking/writing english.

Thanks for correcting my mistakes !

Exactly, the result is nothing, just the cheat window closing and that's all.
No message or any other reply.
17  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Help command doesn't work on: 2010 December 26, 14:05:31
yes I do, I often use other commands, such as moveobjects or fixall and it works fine.

I also use the same aweconf.package on both computers to be sure that I won't have differences.
I play with only one saved game that I transfer from one computer to the other, so I copy everything (mods, CC etc...) to be sure that I won't have problems.
18  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Help command doesn't work on: 2010 December 25, 15:18:24
I have a problem when I use the "help" command while playing on my laptop. I type the command and nothing happens.

I also have a main computer that used to run with win XP and now has win 7. When I use the same command on it it works fine and I get the list of all the existing commands.Of course the game, patches, mods and CC are the same on both computers and everything but that command works fine and the same way in both computers.

Does someone know what could be the problem ?

The only particularity I can think of is that at first the ctrl+shift+c didn't work as it was used to open a program. I removed the shortcut of course and don't have that problem anymore but I thought it could be related and was worth mentioning just in case.

19  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 09, 11:21:26
I have ambitions installed and I'm using the most current Awesomemod Test.  I use TS2 Style aging and I switch between 2 houses.  Besides the school issues that have already been reported, I noticed when I switch from house to house that the sims in the non-active houses have indeed aged.  This of course was not happening before.

When you install an add-on the game reverts to the original option settings.
So you are playing with age length normal, story progression on and TS2 aging off.
20  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 07, 08:17:32
There is a blank line on the Supreme Commander pulldown when in vacation world.

In the Collection section, there are lines for Bugs, Rocks, Seeds, then a blank line followed by Everything.  The line is blank, as is the popup help.
It is the one that auto excavates.

This is the most serious problem that I have encountered in the last few hours.  Well, at least that I am sure is AM.

I didn't play in vacation worlds with AM since I installed Ambitions, but on a vanilla game (WA+Ambitions no Hacks) my Sims can't dig anymore, they have a "route fail" when trying even if they are standing just in front of the dig site.

So I guess Ambitions broke it and AM is just reflecting this.
21  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 06, 10:02:09
Tried the last version of AM (06/06 at 02:15 am) with WA+Ambitions but no HELS, all my CC but no hacks except nointro and I deleted all the Cache files before running the game with AM.

I started a new game in the new neighborhood (Twinsomething) :

As someone said I noticed a lot of derelict cars, but my Sims who is in the business career had no problem going to work.

His kid couldn't go to school though and I noticed that in map view the school is "flagged" with a bench and not the usual hat. I guess the building isn't recognized as a school.
I checked and it's the same in Sunset valley.

No crash, Flagrant error or any other problem but I have been playing with Ambitions without Am for a while (20 to 25 hours maybe) and never had one either.
In fact since installing Am I stopped having error 12 while saving and my game is much faster (except while loading/saving).
22  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 05, 17:35:40
Tried the new Awesomemod (8h55) and beside the well known work/opportunity bugs I noticed  a problem while using supreme commander.

My sim was prompted to go to the bathroom, there were 2 near him, twin bathrooms but one for women and another for men. This is a new "Ambition" feature, there a re now doors that work by gender.

He was in front of the "women" one, and the command was popping, failing and popping again, like an infinite loop when the "men" bathroom was just one step to the right.

I made my Sims go inside the proper bathroom, end of the problem.

I saw the post saying that you didn't install ambitions yet so you couldn't have notice this problem, so for future reference a workaround will be needed ...
23  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 05, 12:21:01
I tested it for one hour or so with a new family I created when I got ambitions and everything seemed to be working well until it was time to send one of my kids to school.
I discovered that there wasn't any school anymore. The building is there, it's a community building but not a school and if i try to modify it's use i don't find school in the list.

I know it was working well before I installed Awesomemod because the same kid went to school for 2 days.
I tried with a new family in the new neighborhood and got the same problem.

I tried removing all my other hacks and leaving only Awesomemod, same problem.
I then removed Awesomemod  and the school came back and is working (the kid is at school right now).

I have WA but no HELS, all up to date.

It's the only problem I noticed so far.
