Oh thank you so much, especially for this:

Parents will also no longer be physically prevented from going to work if
children are present on the lot. No more having to miss work because the stupid
nanny refused to show up until 15 minutes afterwards.

That has always got on my nerves ¬_¬ Also, I don't understand why a child should be taken away just for failing grades at school - does that happen in the States? Cause it sure as hell doesn't happen in Britain; if a kid's doing badly they get extra help in the form of teaching assistants, for instance Tongue

I'm glad the temperature thing's fixed too - not the parent's fault if they want to build a snowman!

Aaah, I get it now. Phew! Thanks Cheesy
28  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: No Unneeded Coats on: 2007 March 07, 17:10:19
Aliright, I've just got to ask: Everyone here are saying vampires don't need coats but mine at least still get cold, is that normal? Cause if they still get cold they'd still need coats wouldn't they...? Come to think of it, that'd apply to plant sims too, I nearly froze mine Undecided
29  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Werewolves grrr / Made fix, download at your own risks on: 2006 December 08, 21:01:58
I hope so, cause I can't get my idea to work Sad ... well it does sort of, the heads change but not the bodies.

Bah. I'll stick to just changing the skintone to default (it's only an athletic light skin); I have plans for alien werewolves and they wouldn't look right using S3 skins Undecided

I just used the plugin with Pets installed, and it works great Smiley

Oh and Syberspunk, sorry I did not see your posts until now...
The fix is not a big thing : I extracted the werewolf skintone (body) property sets from the skins.package in C:/Program Files/EA Games/Les Sims2 Animaux & Cie/TSData/Res/Catalog/Skins : there are 6 property sets : elder male, elder female, adult male, adult female, teen male and teen female. For each of these property sets I change the skintone line from 00000003-0000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 to 00000000-0000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 so the skin can be ussed by every skintone and not only S3. I did the same with the texture overlay XML (face paint) : there are only 4 : adult male, adult female (both enabled for elder as well), teen male and teen female.
I only made these changes on one werewolf skintone because I have no idea what would happen if the game has more than one to choose for, for every skintone.
The bald texture (head) is already the same for all skins and is not bound to the skintone, so no change needed.
If you prefer your wolf to have the S1 werewolf skintone, you can do the same with the files for S1.
Hope this is clear, it's late here so typing in english becomes difficult.

Pioupiou.

Thank you so much for your mini-tutorial Cheesy Using that and looking at the property sets, I think I've figured out how to assign one particular skintone (the custom skin in question), so with any luck I'll have green werewolves as well as a hairy custom skinned Sim... about to try it out, I'll let you know how it goes Smiley

As for this:
Oooo, did you edit which skin the werewolf has when changed?  Because there are a few over at Genensims that have the Maxis version beat, hands down.

I know what you mean Wink I have indeed figured out how to replace the skins (I've already made eye replacements); I'd agree with you, but I'd only be willing to use those Genensims skins if someone was able to add wolf-like features to the face, since that's how the default werewolves look more like wolves, if you get me.

Also the picture files are tiny compared to the usual skin sizes, that might be an issue Undecided My replacement eyes look a little blurry for that reason, but they're still an improvement. They're here if you're interested Smiley

Try Z and X - they do the same thing Wink

I never found out how to feed them Sim food Huh

I think you have to have a sim put a plate of food on the floor -- then the pet will eat it.  Or don't give them a food bowl, and leave food on the counter. Maybe that way all but the smallest dogs finds it. Wink

Ah, I see. Those dogs were a pain though; after re-installing I deleted all trace of extras in the Sim Bin, Critturs and all. Nice dogs, apart from Sarah growling at her boyfriend sometimes... Undecided After all that, I'd sooner know what I'm getting this time round. Hope Eafs the wolf comes back though, he's cute Cheesy Friendly too, I wanna adopt him Smiley

I've also never seen pets refuse the food in the bowl.

Assuming they're trained to eat pet food, that is Smiley  Have you played those obnoxious Crittur dogs yet?  They'll starve to death right in the same room with a bowl of pet food because they've been trained to eat Sim food.

Karen

Only thing you can do with them is drop a plate of food, let them eat most of it, then scold them.  That will give them a non-zero chance of eating from the bowl, so you can Praise them.

Also, if the Praise option is there, you can Give Love->Treat, which is Praise plus food.

Or you can make teaching them "Come Here" your first priority, so you can call them to the pet bowl so they can eat Wink I never found out how to feed them Sim food Huh

The Lot Jumping tool shouldn't be used after you've installed OFB.  It's been fubar'd since then.

This all happened while my net connection was down, so I had to find that out for myself - I just posted that in the hope it'd be useful Wink
36  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Lot Sync Timer: All BlueSoups Suck Edition on: 2006 September 19, 22:42:43
If this is any help to anyone, I have OFB and tried this mod after installing it, and found this problem (don't know if anyone else has had this):

None of my residential lots are home businesses. Yet after playing one lot and jumping to the next, a member of the family I'd played before would turn up and invite him/herself in as though they lived there. There was no option to say goodbye, I couldn't select the Sim but messages were popping up saying the carpool was about to arrive, as though they lived there rather than visiting. On returning to the neighbourhood after saving, I was most puzzled to find a taxi in the loading screen instead of the usual neighbourhood symbol.

BUT! One time after playing a lot for a bit experimentally I went to quit without saving. I got a warning dialog asking not only do I want to quit without saving, but explaining the dangers of quitting straight away from a business lot! Or words to that effect. At any rate, I think the game thinks you've got a business specific item on the lot, like a ticket machine etc. I believe that's the source of the problem Smiley Is that any help in getting it fixed?
37  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Too lazy for Sim Surgery? on: 2006 July 27, 19:40:58
I don't know why SimPE doesn't have an option to take character data from BodyShop files [...]

It has (sort of), but it's still unfinished. Symptoms of its unawsomeness are unlit sims, and sims swimming or working out in everyday clothes Tongue

I've tried that and had neither Smiley Well, the second I didn't give a chance to happen, cos I re-planned his outfits; all I'm saying is, for me at least it works like a dream, thanks for that Smiley

This is just why I'm paranoid about sharing the celeb Sims I made. There are plenty on MTS2 already, and I was that happy with most of the Sims I'd done, I felt like sharing them. But to be honest I can't be done with trawling through threads trying to find the creator of the CC I've been using for so long I've forgotten who said creator was, not to mention his "disclaimer".

MTS2's policies have good intentions, but for above reasons it's a bit harsh. "Here's my Sims, sorry I can't remember where I got their shirts from, but they're not mine." Instant rejection, from what I gather of their rules. Bah Tongue

Snap grid/45 degree rotation is good, except when you try to direct a sim to use it. I tried with an easel since the lot had diagonal walls, but the sim wouldn't touch it, just got the route failed bubble.

Which begs the question, is there any point to the 45 degree cheat if it renders the object unusable? Tongue
