1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims 3 Pets- Whats borked thread on: 2011 October 28, 04:42:18
Guess all that talk about Seasons being the next expansion wasn't simply a rumor.

Anyways, in my game gourmet pet food is not an option if my pre-existing sim is maxed out. However if I create a new sim or have a sim level up their cooking the option will appear on the fridge.  This seems to be the case for others on the official forums.

I've noticed a really odd weird bug. When I switch from a sim to a dog, I notice the dog briefly (quick as a flash) has a completely red hygiene bar, which is almost immediately replaced by it's correct Destruction motive, at the correct level. However, if I switch back to the sim, they suddenly have the grungy moodlet, even though their hygiene bar is still full.

I have a similar bug except on my horse.  When I switch to another sim, the exercise bar arbitrarily goes red despite the fact she ran most of the day.  It does NOT correct itself unless I have it run or exercise.

Getting the mount through the ticket gate seems to require some awesome horse origami:

Dog origami was a feature in the demo.  Have not seen it yet in pets.

Narrowed down the bug to having to do with one of twallan's most recent mods (either overwatch, no-cd or master controller).  Neither awesomemod or other mods were used with his when testing this.

Vanilla sims without cc or mods at all loaded lots without issue but had an issue rendering hair.

With only awesomemod all works well.

Just noticed that when I move a pre-existing family without pets to say... App plains there are no problems.

However, if I take that same family add pets and try to move that family to another location it freezes.

If I have more time I will test more to see if this can be replicated, if it was just a fluke, or if it has to do with the inclusion of pets.

Bad skill modifiers is an intrinsic EA flaw, where damage accumulates over time, due to the really hokey way EAxis accumulates skill modifiers, which is, frankly, awful. We presently do not have a preventative solution that will reduce the incidence of bad modifiers, only a fixer for it afterwards.

Haven't played since ambitions and just got the missing ui/sim/naked sim issue when playing in bridgeport.  Though I saved often and under different names, about half of them were borked.  Found out the hard way I have to double check my save files as well as use fixall.

On that note, decided to play around with fixing an old working save file and your mod found 300+ bad skill modifiers along with 3 bad butts (lul).

First time saving after fix, the game borked and did an immediate CTD.  Tried again and it seems ok though I expect it will CTD again.

Anyways, the game must be allergic to working code.  It never CTDed when it saved 5 thoroughly f*ed up files....

Think a log file will help a lot with debugging but ditto on the error code 9.  Tested this on a properly patched Sims 3 with 3booter and fpslimiter on a Win 7 64 bit Ultimate installation.  It prompts me that there is a new update (uhhh...there shouldn't be) then borks out with the error when I press option 2 to continue.  Option 1 spits out a paragraph of text including an update.zip not found then self closes even when I run the bat file via cmd /k.

aerokenetic,

You've just encountered two or three of the reasons people seeking mods should look into using Twallan's mods and shunning this den of snarks and this core mod.

Flame me all you want, I will not be back to read it.  I just want to say it would be nice if there was a place we could ask reasonable questions and get reasonable answers.  Are you all so ignorant that you really think frequenting an internet forum makes you a superior being?

No, it's being a superior being that makes me a superior being.  Frequenting an internet forum where I can flame noobs is just gravy.

Mmm gravy.  Almost as tasty as bbq noob.
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: EA Data Logging - Ambitions & Patch on: 2010 June 13, 01:46:52
The data logging was enabled by default on my game as well though it doesn't matter as it's blocked from the net.  Why people allow games like this to access the net is beyond me.  The only real excuse is if the game is an online mmo.
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions and SURPRISE! - CTDs on: 2010 June 13, 01:28:26
Terr, did you rename the Sims 3 folder in my documents?  Profile does not specify anything specific to me.  But any old pre Ambitions crap in that directory needs to be destroyed (or prevented from being read) so ambitions can regenerate it's own data.  Simply bringing in old saves can be buggy as hell, so imagine the CTD fun in store if an old my documents folder was used.

If that's not the problem and you've done both CFF explorer and DEP, a full reinstall is all I can recommend.  Again put mods, sims my documents folders and other crap you want into another directory and reinstall the whole thing fresh.

well . . . lookie at what HELS did to moi >.>

<pic of doom>

Well fucking hooray -.- . . . im very quickly losing patience with EA.

So, anyone know a fix? Or is it back to removal and re-install >.<

I LOLed.

EA just owned everyone here with the ultimate in phail "photoshops".
11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: EA Exchange Stupidity on: 2010 February 21, 04:13:11
The premise would be stupid if the masses who use the exchange were 12s who vote up their friends' flood-fills.

12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Patch 1.10/2.5/3.1 on: 2010 February 21, 03:59:12
I understand all that yet it's still annoying. I bet most people here wouldn't even patch up if JM didn't update AM to work with the patch to begin with. Anyways, I'll just wait and see.

No.

I patch up because I do not want my game to bork due to running old patches with new content.  I would not be surprised if EA failed to enforce dependencies correctly therefore I take matters into my own hands and make sure the game is updated to the latest patch based on my version and SKU.

As for the bugs and phailpatches, I heed the whining and made sure to back up all my crap.

More often than not I don't experience even documented issues yet when I do I have options and lost nothing.
13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Plants Not Growing/Maturing on: 2010 February 21, 03:39:44
I haven't encountered the problem since and the hood hasn't shown other problems, it may have been a plain hiccup in the game.

This.

Also see if the same issues happen on a friend's PC.

Not exclusive to the Sims I have seen weird shit happen to my friends' systems.  Could have been a myriad of reasons, including hardware, but it's not CC as they had none.
