51  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Working stoves on community lots? on: 2010 February 05, 23:44:38
You assume fires can start on community lots, chances are EA disabled that from happening.
52  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Got High End Loft Stuff two days early . . . for all the good it does me. on: 2010 February 02, 23:40:10
Problem with individual package files is the time it takes to load then all up, sims3pack puts all into a nice big file that reduces loading time.

Its true that package is great for a lot of things if you dont mind dealing with waiting for all of then being loaded up by the game.
53  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.9/2.4 Issues on: 2010 February 02, 23:37:49
So they really want to kill custom content so we are stuck with the rip-off Shop?

This is not going to end well ...
54  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Installing pirated store stuff? on: 2009 December 28, 01:05:36
Are you serious?

You realize the my documents folder is were the cache files are created and stored, not to mention its also were save sales are keept and also the game settings, you CANNOT DELETE IT and expect the game to work, there is a fucking reason to why its there (and you can thank Microsoft for that, its Vista related and no, you are stuck with it even on XP).

The Launcher could potential be deleted without immediate problems (until there would a patch, then its going to look for a file that no longer exits) but what would be point of that? the files you can identify as part of the launcher dont even take 2MB of space.
55  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Trouble with Grim Reaper on: 2009 December 27, 23:39:55
EA still allows it without cheats, they disallowed Grim Reaper babies by removing the Woohoo interaction without him being part of the household but STILL allowed him to be asked and accept the "Move In" request.

As usual they forget people WILL run with scissors given half the chance.
56  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Installing pirated store stuff? on: 2009 December 27, 23:31:51
My point still stands, it might not "lag" NOW but it WILL in the future for the exact same reason as TS2 loading times grown larger and larger as more files were required to load.
57  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Installing pirated store stuff? on: 2009 December 27, 15:53:11
.packages will create "lag" as they did in TS2.

The reason is about the same, it have to open multiple files and create thumbnails as sims3pack just puts everything on big files (and I think creates a index so files are faster in loading), the situation will only get worst as the game will be loading more and more files, either from expansions and/or from CC.

58  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: 2.3+CC bullshit. I refuse to reinstall AGAIN. on: 2009 December 27, 03:43:40
Even if their sports titles do sell keep in mind that they do not sell that well across the world ... Europeans take FIFA and not Madden for the obvious reason.

Also keep in mind EA releases their sports titles to about EVERY SINGLE CONSOLE EVER MADE (slight exaggeration but they still do PS2 versions) and they combine sales as you cannot compare then with The Sims that always been a PC game (despite EA attempts at console spin-off titles).

The Sims is EA cash cow in the sense its about just one platform and the investment-return is of a higher return that of their other titles.

Also you want to know Sims 3 total sales as of 5th August 2009? 3.7 million ... (Saraswati, the game was not even out in the start of the year)
59  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: no cc with new patch?? on: 2009 December 20, 18:00:12
Or just ignore the Grammar Nazis since its not like they even have the answers you are seeking anyway, they simply are allowed here to show that even if you are the worst person in the world at least you are better that they are.
60  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod 2.28 expiration coming soon. on: 2009 December 19, 03:51:01
I have extended the expiration on the 228 version, so that it will last quite some time now. But no further support can be provided for it.

Hopefully this Launcher mess will be rectified until then, not I expected that with the Holiday season as close.
61  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sunset Valley = Krypton? on: 2009 December 19, 03:46:27
...  When I was just using the no-cd crack ...

I dont get why people do that, AM disables the cd check so what is the point of having a no-cd cracked executable if you are going to use AM?

62  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Riverview has not worked in my game since first patch!? what can i do? on: 2009 December 19, 03:42:24
Well ... not really, Riverview does come with some content beside being a second neighborhood, you can do without it but any saves you had in Riverview will be disabled if Riverview is not installed.
63  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod 2.28 expiration coming soon. on: 2009 December 19, 02:48:24
MOTHERFUCKING EXPIRATION THREADS ON THE MOTHERFUCKING FORUM.

Search! The hell.

Shut the fuck up, you little shit.

In case you FAILED to noticed the 1.7.9/1.7.11/2.2.8 version is set to expire as downloading it again does nothing (like your brain) to solve it, as I cannot speak for the 1.8/2.3 version since I am not going "patch" my game AGAIN to get a broken Launcher.

So my choices are clear on this subject,of course we COULD get a answer for the man himself over further 1.7.9/1.7.11/2.2.8 support  but hey, its not I am expecting much ... certain not from "senators".
64  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.8/2.3 plus Create a World Released on: 2009 December 19, 00:34:25
No, they just broken the Launcher.
65  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: I'm jonesing for my AM! on: 2009 December 19, 00:31:21
O rlly?

http://thesims2.ea.com/update/index.php

There was about 1 patch per expansion, TS3 have this:

http://www.thesims3.com/game/patches

Lets see ...

1.2.7 : Fixes critical bugs
1.3 : First real patch.
1.4: Fixes the ABILITY TO UNINSTALL THE GAME!
1.5/1.6: The World Adventures Upgrade.
1.7/2.2: Fixes the save game issue with the 1.5/1.6 patch
1.8/2.3: World Adventures Patch + CAW + Store

Oh yes, "updated very often" to clean their own mess as in the rest its just like TS2 with one patch for expansion, granted they are updating the core with expansion functionality by a patch but considering how many patches (3/5) were released to just correct fucks ups that should not had been present in the first place if they actually HAD a Q&A team ...

Now we learned something called "context", more patches does not mean more support ...

66  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: 2.3+CC bullshit. I refuse to reinstall AGAIN. on: 2009 December 18, 22:57:34
Well considering I reinstalled the whole damn thing and applied the previous patch ... I wait for EA.
67  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: I'm jonesing for my AM! on: 2009 December 18, 22:54:52
And the Launcher issues are caused by mods? Heck if you have a NVidia card and 195.62 drivers you might get the BSOD caused by much they fucked up the launcher ... just for showing how much they tested the damn thing.

The funny thing is the Tool over there suggested that we turn .package files into .sims3packs as the way to solve the WA slowdown issue, if we did that then after THIS patch we would have the issue of even moar CC not working ... the only saving grace is that the Tool was ignored and few sites use EA sims3pack wrapper.

And yes, people ARE stupid ... one of the causes of WA slowdown was having TS2 packages that naturally was going to fuck things over but people stupidity does not excuses EA own stupidity.
68  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.8/2.3 plus Create a World Released on: 2009 December 17, 05:22:43
I dont think that is possible, the .dbc files are generated by the launcher so if it cannot install the sims3pack you are stuck ... you can use your previous items using that trick but that is it.

Either EA fixes this mess or Sims3packs are a dead format.
69  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.8/2.3 plus Create a World Released on: 2009 December 17, 04:06:19
Honestly I given up and am just doing a re-install and put the older patch until this mess is solved by someone (the dlc trick does not work for me because I uninstalled all content before and tried to re-install).
70  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.8/2.3 Released - CAW Out on: 2009 December 17, 00:23:44
... I would like to think that, given sites like TSR, that the removal of support for all non-Store CC was an accidental side effect of the ingame store 'feature' ...I therefore find it hard to believe they would deliberately stick two fingers up at paysites.
...

Maybe but TSR is one of the few paysites sites that use Sims3Pack, Peggy and Rose remain unaffected as the majority of their files is in normal .package format.

It does hit a lot of non-subcription/free sites, even if Liana could be said to technically be a paysite (donation packs) she pretty much only releases it as Sims3packs but then you have Lilisims that is free and only releases in Sims3 packs.

The biggest hit is Sims3pack as a format, right now people must be asking if releasing their stuff in that format is still a viable option ... as EA demonstrated exactly how much they care about the community creators.
71  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Once again: I broke it. Yus I did. on: 2009 December 16, 22:33:37
... I had to download a new resource.cfg ...

There is your problem, either you put it on the wrong place (\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3) or its not properly set (meaning you have things on subfolders and its not set to look at subfolders).

It should say ...

New patch is now with MOAR DRM poison, if you did not get it from the Store by the launcher it may or may not work with heavy chances of not working.
73  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Pudding Pups to pee and dig holes in your Play d'Eau 'hoods? on: 2009 December 13, 06:25:37
This is where you are wrong. They recycled most animations for TS3 basegame, and will most likely do the same for pudding pets.

"Recycle" is the wrong word as TS3 animations work different that TS2 animations, they might have the original animations frames around but hey, so they did from The Sims that in case your forgot had 3D Sims in what was a 2D world.

Also ALL pet meshes have to be done from scratch as TS2 meshes are unsuitable, now lets add the texture work and the whole thing became a lot of extra work, just because you cannot see the forest because of the tree does not mean its not there, animations are part of the workload even if they have leftovers there are substantial technical work implementation that is what consumes more of development time this days.

My point stands, its too much work and they could wipe out 2 expansions by the time they finish with Pets, again that is pretty much how TS2 did Pets, Pets might be EP3 but I doubt its going to be EP2.
74  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Pudding Pups to pee and dig holes in your Play d'Eau 'hoods? on: 2009 December 12, 18:10:09
Looking at "World of SimcrAft"(WA in case you miss it) it seems they were testing what could be done that wanting else, they know have the idea of how to link different neighborhood that I think was the main purpose of the expansion, kinda like University was for TS2.

Pets is just too much work, you have to create the skeletons, meshes and animations for then besides also the new socials and that crap that just takes a lot of time, why you think in TS2 Pets was the 4th expansion despite the base game already showing they were working on it?

Its just easier to make something like "Nightlife" as the workload is lower.
75  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Be Careful Discussing Awesomemod! on: 2009 December 05, 16:52:01
There are a lot of sites that consider a No-CD crack to be the illegal way around having the CD in the computer, and it is assumed beforehand that you have a version of a game that was not legitimately bought and paid for.

Let me put this way, a No-CD crack IS illegal as the EULA is very CLEAR about modifications to the program.

However the difference is the one I stated, most CD checks are done when running the executable and are set in the executable and that is why they are called "No-CD cracks", it requires to crack the executable and disable the check.

However TS3 lacks the check on the  executable, its  set on the Launcher executable and then on the core rules (that even if strictly speaking its "illegal" but so is Framework and pretty much all TS3 custom content not originated from the TS3 Store) so its not a "crack" as the program executable remains unaltered.

Also is Awesome Mod is "illegal" because of the no-CD check then what about Framework that is a CRACK that disables the digital signature of TS3? Of course we need Framework in order to use .package files (and so mods) but if you are going to take a moral stand at least dont be a hypocrite about it as allowing one thing but not the other.

That means I fully understand not allowing the discussion of pirated games but assuming asking a no-CD "crack" with having a pirated copy and then  punish everyone that speaks of the no-CD "crack" when THEMSELVES have on their very servers something that cracks the protection system is ... well there is a thing called "context" and as I fully understand closing/deleting the tread I do not punish people from mention suck no-CD "crack" exists.
