1  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2013 February 07, 13:57:03
Can you directly observe the aging? Does it happen with only specific ages, such as elders dying, or is it acting as if the setting is being ignored?

In my case it stopped working after patch 1.39.
Same here. It was that bloody patch that brought the plague in my game and messed with TS2 aging feature of AM.

Expansion and Stuff packs installed: WA, Late Night, Ambitions, High-End Loft stuff, Town Life Stuff, Generations, Seasons.
Mods installed:  AM and Twallan's: Error Trap, Master Controller, Overwatch, Woohooer, Portrait Panel.
Running the latest patch and all mods updated to their latest version.

Pescado,
It doesn't happen with specific ages, but rather as if the setting is not present at all. I run tests in freshly-created world and new Sims with the same results. The game notifies me of Sims' birthdays and also asks me to choose a trait, if said Sim lives in a household marked as "Sacred".

I believe Sims 2 had this exact same rule in place, so this isn't a new thing.
Exactly. Your memory serves you well.

So your precious manual didn't answer my question.  Oh and since your the grammar police your manual is full of grammar and spelling errors, try using the spell check.
Funny that you criticise the grammar and spelling of their manual when you yourself seem to be completely ignorant of the difference between "your" and "you're = you are".

Why don't you move the teens out with the adult Sim, and then send the adult back to his/her home?
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Sims 2 Vs. The Sims 3 on: 2012 April 01, 15:41:17
TS3 families might be more self-sufficient but Sims' interactions are boring, they lack sense of humour and behave somewhat coldly. I can't imagine my father saying "It's a bit late, you should leave now."
Only "Generations" provided a few things for kids and teens to do, nothing for adults though.
Anyway, I'm an insane Simmer who very much likes having the first and last word in what Sims are and/or are not allowed to do. So, TS2 suits my philosophy better.

I have no hack to make Sims roll this kind of wants. I think it was a glitch, because I tried to reproduce the situation in-game and I couldn't. The mother hated her sons, and vice versa, so when she rolled that wish I found it quite interesting and amusing.
6  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers wanted: Load package in sim surgery. on: 2011 March 18, 23:00:49
I am not Teo, but I tried it and works just fine. The changes do not appear while working with SimPE, you will notice no difference. You have to start your game and visit the "patient" Sim to see the surgery was successful.

More or less. She uses Inteen and "can't, won't live without it". That says it all.

Rufio,
Thanks a lot for all the detailful info on BHAV. I don't really care so much to keep their motives up as to make them use the guest room. In most cases the Sims invited to stay the night will take a shower and finally go to sleep in the available bed, but others, for some strange reason, won't. I don't have banned any bed, as you have, that's why it has always had me wondering what's wrong, and if there was something I could do to prevent their complains.  But your explanation makes perfect sense:
and as of AL it seems like they will attempt to autonomously seek out beds at certain times of day regardless of actual energy level.  If they are otherwise occupied or distracted, or cannot use beds or find a bed to use or something to foodnap in before their energy gets too low, you get the dialog and they will leave.

Stupid Sims get distracted too often, too easily.

Thanks for all the mods/fixes, especially for the ExtendedFamilyPartial and the NoLTAPermaplat mods! Permaplat in particular ruined a few story ideas for my Sims, until now.

I have a question though: What does actually cause the stupid "You invited me to stay the night but didn't let me get any sleep" lines? When my Sims invite friends to stay the night some of them will use the available bed in the guest room, but others will just complain and whine.

The callbox is used by visitors to call people you are visiting, so yes, it has a use. How ESSENTIAL this use is, I do not know.
The callbox is related to Celebrities mostly: the residents are being informed who is asking entrance and they can refuse or allow the visitor in. I think that if you want to lock paparazi out in the street or, to monitor who is entering your house (when you actively play a family) it is essential. It also works on houses: use the new LN fence and door in your lot, and place a callbox next to the mailbox. No more peeping toms.

I updated the game three days ago. For the records, the sound problem seems to happen in a lesser degree after installing the latest patches.
11  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 September 01, 10:07:31
Question: Am I going to bork a newly installed game, if I save an overstuffed household, say 16 Sims, and place them in the new world?   Considering I have activated the said option in both the old and new game I think it should be alright, but better be safe than sorry.
12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: All Game Sound Shuts Off on: 2010 August 30, 09:02:15
Thanks, smellyarmando. I will give it a try next time and see if this stops the crashing -- although it does not happen every single time the sound problem appears.

EDIT: I tried it but it did not work for me.
13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: All Game Sound Shuts Off on: 2010 August 28, 19:57:25
I have this problem, too, which appeared just *after* installing Ambitions. It might be something wrong with the neighbourhood though, because the game is fully patched, and further testing --I sent one of the families to China-- the sound problem did not occur there at all, not even once. *shrug*

I've just sent you my old, rusty Katana. It might not be much, but that's all this poor Samurai could afford.
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2010 March 27, 04:44:31
If you did everything right, didn't use the game's launcher but the no-CD .exe and your search finds no files of SuckaRom, then you're OK.
Hopefully you remembered to apply the game patches as you were going.
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Friendship Nuking on: 2010 February 24, 00:42:01
Ah, I had no idea about it. I have used Inge's shrub for the simple purpose of avoiding refurnishing homes my Sims use for short periods (usually after Uni), but I didn't know about the incorrect lot value. I'm off to download magic wand. Thanks, Rufio.

Question: Isn't the value of the lot corrected if, after one Sims has left and before another moves in, you enter the lot to make some kind of changes, save and exit?
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Friendship Nuking on: 2010 February 22, 08:12:25
The Batman Box (Lot Debugger - Nuclear War Edition (?)) appears to be able to do this, but only with visiting sims...
There is a whole tutorial how to use the Lot Debugger (same thread) to completely unfriend other Sims, but it also involves use of SimPE.
For keeping a house furnished you can use Inge's Stay-things shrub at Simlogical: http://drealm.info/simlogical/sl/Sims2Pages/Sims2_MiscHacks.htm  Then move your Sims out and package the lot, but use Clean Installer when you decide to install it in a new hood, checking carefully its content.
And Rufio is right: don't move them across 'hoods. The safest way I have found so far to move my favourite Sims is to export them through SimPE, open Body Shop, package them and recreate their families in the new 'hood. No memories though.
