76  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 4.0.87 (AMB) TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 20, 02:19:42
I am having an issue with children and the little baked goods table, however. Unsure if it's AM or the game doing it, but when my kids "Tend Table" they immediately cancel any interaction with customers that pops up. I haven't got any playtime until tomorrow though, so I can't test the table in other saves/computers/without mods at the moment.

Have you tried moving the table to another location?  Maybe you are having routing issues.

The loss of Riverview objects has happened to others in the past and there is a fix for it.  It was too long ago for me to remember the thread, but a search should yield fruit.

New firefighting bug: the alarms are going off permanently. No emergency, just constant alarms. It's not an animation glitch as my sim is unable to sleep through them.

I'm not using Awesomemod right now.  I guess that makes me part of the control group.  This happened in a couple of my games.  The cause in my case was a glitch with the careers no longer working after switching back and forth between families.  I sent a firefighter to a fire and even after he had completed his mission (Save 2 sims/put out fire) the score card would not check off the jobs.  When I returned to the station the alarms were still blaring even though I had completed the mission.  I had to quit without saving.  Not sure if it is the same problem for you, but there you have it.

I like the garage larger; we need the room for a washer and dryer.
80  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Plots / Re: Fambly starter - colour challenge. on: 2010 June 18, 02:35:08
I fixed all of its problems (floating man whole, added land bridge to island) but decided to wait until Ambitions came out to upload the new and improved.  I thought there might be new stuff I would like to add.  I was right, but now I can't add all the cool new buildings I built and upload the darn thing.  I built a better Laundromat that fits the spot next to the church, and a junkyard/consignment store by the science center.   I put the fire station in the suburbs near the farm land.  I wanted it more central because there is a whole new neighborhood by the science center now.   As soon as CAW is fixed I'll upload it before EA breaks it again.
81  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Plots / Re: Fambly starter - colour challenge. on: 2010 June 18, 02:06:27
You know I'm going to have to download this because it was built in my world.  That and it is really nice.  Can I add it to my updated Fargo… When if EA fixes CAW?
82  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions: What's borked on: 2010 June 18, 02:01:44
I've had serious trouble with the world editor. Removing lots causes them to no longer be plaçable, even in the exact spot upon which they used to be placed; Rarely can other lots be put there, either. This was near the beach, so the ground was not entirely flat, but it was not exactly steep, either. The error was always "can't be placed on other lots", although if it was too large it did object to being in the water.

This was in the Fuzzy Pumpkin's neighbourhood (Dragon Cay), so it may be something to do with the way it's structured. (I guess technically this is a problem with the patch and not Ambitions, though, since I'm running basegame until this torrent finishes.)

I had similar problems in Twinbrook.  The tool is very touchy.  If there are any trees or other world objects within 2 squares of the lot being placed, it freaks out.  I have learned not to remove a lot unless I'm darn sure I want it gone, because there might not be any turning back.  CAW allows you to place lots with only 1 square as a buffer.  This tool seems to require more.
83  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: How can I get rid of a file I cannot find that, by all means, doesnt exist? on: 2010 June 18, 01:54:38
One of my friends was a stripper, she used to use a glue stick, said it was much less painful and equally effective as the tape.

That stuff does not wash out of clothing very well.  I like to use a watersalluable double sided tape, normally used as basting tape for quilters.  It does not hurt my skin and if any residue is left behind on the gown, it will wash out with plain water.

This is sooooo off topic.  We should be ashamed of ourselves.
84  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Tomb Creation - Broken features. on: 2010 June 18, 01:21:05
I have never had any of these issues. Not sure what that means.

Then why do you feel the need to make a comment?  Do you have OCD that compels you to comment in every single thread for no reason what-so-ever?
85  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Tomb Creation - Broken features. on: 2010 June 18, 00:43:56
I've got a bit of tomb building under my belt both before and after Ambitions came out.  There has always been frustration with the doors not showing the chains.  This is not a new issue.  If you do not set the door and it's activation triggers in precisely the right order, they do not show the chains, but they are none the less locked.
The treasure chests will not show the proper key on them until one of your Sims goes on vacation.  This makes testing tombs while building them very frustrating, but I have yet to find a work around.  It does not matter if you are building the tombs at home or abroad, the vacation is the trigger.  Many of the spawners require this trigger as well.
86  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 4.0.87 (AMB) TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 17, 17:32:10
The two work on entirely different principles, so it doesn't work. Professions have set EXP gain for set actions, and a set number of EXP required to go from level 1 to 2, 2 to 3, etc. Scaling job difficulty doesn't alter any of these things, because they're hardcoded for each profession instead of just a general concept.

I assumed as much, but because I removed AM when I installed Ambitions I have not had the luxury of seeing what works and what doesn't.  I'm assuming that with ‘testingcheats enabled' you could drag the bar back down manually to prevent a promotion from happening before you feel your Sim has properly earned it.
87  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 4.0.87 (AMB) TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 17, 17:14:12
My Firefighter guy is already up to level 8 after a few days and it's mostly just from increasing skills, mainly athletic which he does all day at the firehouse since he has nothing better to do. He doesn't even know his coworkers and only put out a few fires.

This. I actually had a sim get three promotions before his first day of work, simply because he spent his downtime working out. It was ridiculous.

Agreed; I too received 3 promotions in a weekend before my first day of work.  I haven't put AM back in my game yet but I'm wondering if increasing the "JobDifficultyScaling" will help make career advancement harder as it does for job advancement.  Has anyone experimented with this?  If not perhaps I should put in a request for this feature to be added to AM as well.
88  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Plots / Re: Fambly starter - colour challenge. on: 2010 June 16, 16:33:32
I'm really struggling with this - I keep generating colors schemes and dismissing them as hideous, but I've been using the same range of blues and neutrals in all of my houses for a month or more - I'm bored!

Any suggestions?

I was at the hardware store this weekend choosing paint for my kitchen.  Most hardware stores will have project idea cards right there in the paint section.  They are free and have great color combination ideas on them, as well as photos of rooms that the color schemes have been used in.  I picked up about a dozen of the little pamphlets. Check them out next time you're shopping, or check their web sites to see if they have them on-line.

The hard way; take each and every one of them to City Hall to get their names changed.
90  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions: What's borked on: 2010 June 11, 16:18:25
Not sure if this one is a bork or my confusion, but I could swear the upgraded Banshee Banisher is suppoesd to be able to remove multiple ghosts/spirits at one, but I can't figure any scenario where it will work- ghosts right next to each other, ghosts in front of each other, nothing.

You have that confused with the harvester.  The harvester is a collecting device that you invent at level 4 of the inventor skill.  It will pick up multiple collectables at a time.
91  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Special Seeds In Twinbrook on: 2010 June 11, 16:12:46
I've looked in both places several times. I guess I'll have to keep checking.

Have you been playing the town for at least 3 sim days?  It could be possible they just have not spawned yet.
92  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 11, 15:23:16
The only people I see bitching about it are noobs.

Do you really think between himself and his mods that he couldn't run his board however the hell he pleased, up to and including allowing for mass ass rapings of stupid and lazy noobs?

Roll Eyes I guess you cant keep it for feedback only...

PS. I may not have that many posts BUT Ive been here since 2007 and have helped anyway I can. So again can we keep this for what it was intended? Awesomemod feedback?

Quit acting like a troll.  If you have been here since 07, you know at Maty we don't nibble bait; we nuke it.  If the thread fills with too much waste, the infection gets trimmed and sent to retardo land.  Why don't you take this fight there?
93  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions: What's borked on: 2010 June 11, 14:20:48
Is this an Ambitions bork?
 Huh
My sim happily seeded sprogs throughout the town and now if I check the family tree, I can look into the extended families because of this.

Three of the women he's managed to fertilise, have had other children before or after with another man.  All of a sudden children in these families have started karking it!

A notice popped up, that one child had died trying to fix something and they shouldn't have been messing with something like that.  Two others have died and they were only toddlers.

Also Morgana Wolf (I think that's her name) she's had one child, now a teen.   Could see she was preggers again, but no baby has appeared. I'm sure if I went into play her family I would find another toddler or child has died.

I've never had this happen before while playing Sims 3, thought it rather strange.  Anyone else happened upon this?

I haven't had this happen, but you could check to make sure you have a bed for the toddlers to use as soon as they become children.  The game might be killing them off because the house does not have enough beds to accommodate the size of the family.

This thread Is 15 pages long, unlike most of you I don't have that much time on my hands to search through bullshit, when someone could simply be a good person and help me.  however people on threads, (In specific this one) Are complete and utter douche bags, who do not have feel like dealing with "n00bs". So can someone please take the GIANT stick out of their ass and help me, por favor.

You don't even have to read all 15 pages; all you have to do is type ‘Kids can't go to school,' in the search window at the top of the thread.  See it up there? ^^^  It says ‘Search: and then there is a blank box for typing.  Hazard a guess as to what it will show?  Go ahead; try it, just for shits and giggles.
95  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Prima Guide for Ambitions on: 2010 June 09, 15:23:42
I bought the prima guide in book form.  I'm just old school, like that.  I have already found several instances where it just wrong.  For instance it said that the bake sale table is for toddler use but teens and adults could buy from it and children and evil adults could steel $ from it; it is actually for children to sell from, not toddlers.  So far it really hasn't given me too much information that I hadn't already figured out.  It does tell you how to solve all the investigation cases.  I don't plan on reading that section unless I get really stumped.  All in all, I think the book sucks.

Steal. Steel is something completely different.

Sorry.  Dyslexic; spell check doesn't catch those kinds of mistakes.  I'll try to be more careful.

Anyway the Consignment inventory issue is fixed as of AM 6/7/2010 11:43 pm build. Just saying.
Which issue is that?

1. That consignment sales don't count towards promotions.

or

2. The buy menu sometimes doesn't pull up.

The EA gurus are working on this issue as well and hopefully will be included in the patch when they get around to it.  Are we all just so excited about another EA patch?  And no, I have no insider information on when they plan on blessing cursing us with one.

Is it just me or are the professions borked?
I got to level 3 on Ghostbuster and Firefighter (may have been level 4) and it doesn't count what I do. I'll catch all three spirits and it will say 0/3. I'll get rid of a small house fire and it won't count.
I only have Supercomputer, Sliders, and the Skintone Enabler installed. They are all updated for Ambitions, so I'm thinking this must be a game bug.

I don't have any mods in right now and my game does this.  It doesn't have anything to do with what level you are at, it happens when you switch to another household and then go back to them.  I've seen some complaints about it at the sims forum.  I couldn't tell you why it is happening.

What you say makes me think game bork.

I ran a test hood to see if it would fix the problem. It was a copy of the Twinbrook hood I've been playing.
I took the entire Mods folder out and played, and the game worked fine. I put the folder back in and got the same results. I tried different things with the game while the Mods folder was in to make sure it wasn't a fluke, like switch to different households during my ghostbuster's work time and also play another household and switch to my ghostbuster right before he had to go to work, and it still worked fine.

Not sure if 'resetting' the Mods folder had anything to do with it. Hmm.

This does not help me, as I have nothing in my mods folder to reset…   When you switched to another house hold did you switch to a firefighter and go on an emergency or to another ghost buster and do a mission; or was it just a household of rabbit hole workers?  Just curious if you would have the same results if you switched to another household like that.

100  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions: What's borked on: 2010 June 06, 23:28:20
I have been playing a vanilla game since Ambitions came out; no AM, no Mods folder (Yah, it sucks. I miss AM).  When I went to switch back to my firefighter after playing my ghostbuster, my firefighter could not complete any mission.  If the mission pop up said to rescue 2 sims and put out a fire, after completing both objectives neither would receive a check mark and the music would not stop.  I switched back to the ghostbuster, and had the same problem; I'd capture the spirits, have them in my inventory, but the pop-up would not show that I had caught them, and the music would not stop.

I started a brand new game to test around, and the same thing happened.  Everything would be fine and dandy until I switched households and then came back.  I'm thinking that nothing short of a patch will fix this, as I'm playing with no mods, but thought I would post on the off chance that I might have done something wrong, and someone knows how I can fix this.
