I had that problem with one particular maid. She would not clean at all, only make the bed. Then she would stand around and sometimes make a mess by eating food or something. I thought it was a bug, but after I fired her, the next maid seemed to work just fine. And then I found out that the previous maid had the slob trait. So, now I think it has to do with that trait. Maybe none of the NPC maids in other neighborhoods had that trait?

Does anyone know if it's possible to make at least 20,000 simoleons in royalties on one book? My author sim got this as a wish. She has written a ton of best-sellers, has all the trait and perk bonuses. I've gotten very close to, but not quite to 20,000. Masterpiece is the genre, obviously. She also has a wish to write 60 novels, and I'm wondering if I should give up on the 20K and aim for shorter books. She is an elder so I need to prioritize.

I had that problem recently with the Dragon Cave. My sim could only 'use stairs' and I could not change the floor level. The way I fixed it was to leave China and return. When I returned to China, the problem was fixed and I was able to complete the quest.
