when my teen sims go interact with adult sims romantically (they were bf and gf before one of them aged up), the game crashes to desktop.

Because you're a pedo.
27  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2012 April 26, 23:22:38
Hello again. I've been getting those wonderful little CTDs again. And while they've been a bit less prevalent, I get a crash caused by a "Corrupt Save Game" that doesn't make sense since I've been able to reload the exact same save that crashed and continue playing for hours without incident. I've heard somewhere using "Save As..." rather than regular saving method helps,  but I can't confirm. I have the error report right here if needed.

http://www.mediafire.com/?2b0sro4ixarh6tb

I'd love if this could be fixed, since I've gone quite a ways with this save and would hate to have to start over.
28  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: What needs to go where to make AM work on: 2012 April 22, 01:14:04
This is the second time in 24 hours I've had to do a complete and utter reinstall of my game and expacs. This installation is as virgin and untouched as it can possibly be. The first post in this thread confused me since I thought we put Awesomod in the Mods folder in your Documents rather than in the Program Files, but the first post just confused me. It got to the point 3 hours ago where I'd screwed up so hard that the game simply would not run, no matter how much CC was removed or what DEP settings I worked with or caches cleared. I actually had to completely delete the entire Electronic Arts folder in my documents in a nuke from orbit attempt to make it work, to no avail. I've been here while, but it never ceases to amaze me how fucking stressed out I get just trying to force this game to run stable.

So lease, someone please explain to me, in the most absolute tardy PEBCAK layman's terms, where everything, including the framework, goes. The most up to date method as of April 2012. Please before I tear my hair out in complete agony.
29  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Lights! Camera! Inaction! SHOWTIME! on: 2012 March 21, 17:34:13
I got Showtime yesterday. Haven't done much with it. I don't think there is ANYTHING in this expansion that couldn't have been added to Late Night or Generations. Fucking EA shortchanging us. Starlight Shores is also APPALLING to look at. I know they were aiming for a sort of dated 1950's Los Angeles mixed with modern style, and it reflects in the house designs quite well, but the town itself is a goddamn eyesore. Thanks for the interesting house designs EA. Allow me to steal them and put them someplace halfway decent like Twinbrook.

I had time today to try out the Singer proffession in Starlight. My Conan O'Brien lookalike had gotten to Talented Amateur and was about to score his first gig when a botched Sing-A-Gram sent him into a pants on fire panic. Being that it was the middle of a big park and he couldn't very well jump into the lake, he died. Theres some kind of moral lesson or irony in there I can't quite discern.

31  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: CTD after 10 seconds of playing (Not on Loading screen) on: 2012 March 12, 01:07:49
If Pescado is still paying attention, I'd like to ask him something.

When you first looked into this issue, the game was crashing within seconds in Live Mode. With the newest Test version this is no longer the issue. However, one afternoon, I had played for about 4 hours with no hiccups. I was in the middle of a bachelor party when out of nowhere the mysterious "Sims has stopped working" popped up again. I'm starting to think this has to do with the save file you're playing on, and not the game. I get this from looking back at another exampl of this I experience during 1.29. At the time I had one sim and his little pet kitten. Nothing special. When I loaded the save, the game would work as normal. My Sim would go to work at the hospital, and about midway through his shift, it would crash. I tried not going to work. Crashed again. Whatever is causing these mysterious crashes affects the save file you're playing on in my hypothesis.

If you could put it layman's terms, what exactly was the issue that was causing these crashes when you first looked into it?
32  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: CTD after 10 seconds of playing (Not on Loading screen) on: 2012 March 06, 17:34:35
So far, so good. It didn't immediately crash. This game always has little gremlins hiding somewhere though. I'll keep you posted.

UPDATE: After nearly a full afternoon of play I haven't run into any major game breaking bugs. Hats off to Pescado.
33  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: CTD after 10 seconds of playing (Not on Loading screen) on: 2012 March 05, 13:48:07
Yes, this is why the 1.31 version is in the TEST folder and not released. I will examine what it is that crashes. Do you know what you were doing at the time that may have crashed?

I haven't actually tested in other neighborhoods, but basically as long as you aren't in Live Mode, the game will go on for as long as you'd like. Once you're in Live Mode, it only takes seconds. My household was just one YA Sim and his dog, and they didn't do anything unusual. I can go back into the game and see if this rings true for other households/neighborhoods.

Also noting I'm playing a legitimate copy of the game, but all my store content is Arrr'd.

UPDATE: Tried using a pre-made family in Twinbrook. Took longer before it crashed, but same result. Switched over to Sunset Valley (wretch) and tried the Alvis. Crashed again. It seems like it affects every family and household in the game.
34  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Patch 1.31 on: 2012 March 05, 03:02:33
Well this is fucking unprecedented. Previously when I've played, the game would give me at least 2 or 3 hours worth of game time before crashing. Now it just hands me the "Sims 3 has stopped working and needs to close" dialog in under a minute while in Live mode. Build or Buy Mode? Take as long as you'd like. Spend FOREVER just customizing every silly facet of your Sim's home and furnishings. But if you want to actually play the game? Go fuck yourself. I'm going to pointlessly crash.

I'm on a Windows 7 machine with 4GB of memory. I'm at 1.31, with all EPs and SPs fully updated thanks to that MTS tool. I've cleared out ALL my CC save for Store items, updated to the current test version of AwesomeMod, and cleared the caches. Still no dice.

Thanks EA. You have a goddamn bug that makes your product utterly and completely useless.

First thing you shouldn't be doing is double posting, edit old post first.

On another note, did you try to add your game to the DEP (Data Execution Prevention) list? That seems to fix a lot of the "Sims 3 has stopped working" issues. If you need to know how to do it, go here:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Change-Data-Execution-Prevention-settings

Already did that. Still crashes.
35  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: CTD after 10 seconds of playing (Not on Loading screen) on: 2012 March 05, 01:29:04
Wife has same issues.  She said screw it and moved out of Sunset valley and almost all the CTD issues went away.  It is the map that is at issue.

Not quite friend. I only play in Twinbrook and it still crashes for me.
36  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: CTD after 10 seconds of playing (Not on Loading screen) on: 2012 March 04, 21:46:49
I'm having the exact same issue. I can spend all the time in the world in CAS, Build, Buy, even in Edit Town. But if I want to go into Live Mode and.. you know, play the game I paid for? We can't have that now can we? We're gonna have to crash your game and dump you back to the desktop.

Could someone please provide me a link to the Awesome Mod Test version page? I swear I wont lose it again.

EDIT: Nevermind, found it.
39  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Sims 2 Vs. The Sims 3 on: 2012 March 04, 17:09:46
As someone who's been INCREDIBLY patient with TS3, even with all its bugs and crashes, I can say I like it better than TS2. After playing TS3 and then taking the time to go back and reinstall TS2, I found it.... lacking. I think it's that mantra of "A luxury sampled becomes a necessity." I'm too spoiled by Create a Style and the Open Neighborhood. I couldn't go back to loading screens between lots. Not to mention TS2's EPs just seemed a lot more watered down and family friendly in comparison.
40  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Patch 1.31 on: 2012 March 03, 16:41:28
Nothing to do now but wait for AwesomeMod to update.
41  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Patch 1.31 on: 2012 March 02, 19:16:55
So if the Achievements are a bunch of triggers in game, could we not technically make a mod that flips the switches on all those achievements in one stroke?
42  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Patch 1.31 on: 2012 March 02, 16:34:35
The chieves add nothing of value to the game except meaningless grinding, like Memories added nothing worthwhile. Probably Simport will be useless, and all the 'unlockables' will be able to be activated via a mod.

As far as I can tell, you must be online and logged in to the sims 3 site in order to unlock achievements. This leads me to believe that the rewards will be downloaded the same way memories rewards were downloaded, which is pretty crappy. I have no desire to grind crappy achievements nor would I wish it upon someone else.

You mean some of the content we pay for is LOCKED unless we jump through some arbitrary hoop?
43  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Patch 1.31 on: 2012 March 02, 01:18:53
What kind of Achievements could you have in The Sims? Especially when you can cheat your ass off.
44  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Sims 3 has stopped working - Windows or computer problem? on: 2012 February 29, 02:38:41
So from what I gather, despite everything everyone has done, there is a bug in the game that just crashes directly to desktop no matter what settings and shit you do.

The conspiracy theorist in me says that EA realizes how bad Showtime is going to do with all the retarded social networking shit and added this bug to force us to buy the fix included in the next EP.
45  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Pets patch - all CC borked! on: 2012 February 29, 02:25:16
Currently at 1.29. None of my store content is broken, nearly all my CC works without a hitch.

The only issue I'm having is the infamous "Sims 3 has encountered a problem and needs to close" issue.
46  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2011 October 19, 23:42:40
Could we get an ETA on Awesomemod for 1.26?
47  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Strange freeze. on: 2011 October 19, 03:08:01
So I'm getting this annoying freeze up. I finally get Appawhatititsname to load and create a family with a horse and a dog. I go to make the horse to sniff the dog and it freezes up, and whatever audio clip was playing at the time just keeps skipping and repeating over and over. I tried it again at a different house with a horse interacting with a foal and it happens again. If this happens with a fucking standard social interaction I'm scared to think of what else could be horribly wrong here.

Anyone else getting this? I'm using an absolutely virgin fresh install. No CC or Store content or Awesomemod.
48  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Compression/Decrapification and Store Archive on: 2011 July 29, 23:50:22
Hi folks. I used to post here a few months back, but i ended up uninstalling The Sims 3 when my Laptop began crapping out. It has since been fixed, and I'm back to playing. I've gotten AwesomeMod installed just fine, but now I'd like to get some of the store content back. I prefer the decrapification/compression method over .package files (thanks to Witch for that method by the way,) and was wondering if I have all the right flies. I recall there being one compression program with an actual UI rather than command prompt, but I can't seem to find it. All I have is: decrapify.exe, s3rc.exe, and Witch's s3rcBatch.cmd. Am I missing anything?

EDIT: Found it. It was the Compressorizer from DJS Sims.

I also recall someone here on the forum had a massive 4shared archive of all the store content in pristine unmodified sims3packs. If I could get a link to that I'd be extremely grateful. I'll keep searching in the meantime.

So after a lengthy clean reinstall of both the game and my cc, everything's fine. Damn you EA.

Since this patch doesn't affect Create a World, I'm assuming CAW doesn't have anything that might have been included in Late Night?
50  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Patch 1.18/2.13/3.9/4.6/5.4/6.1 on: 2010 December 01, 05:41:38
Could anyone here help with one tiny thing? I've been pulling my damn hair out since 10pm trying to get this patch to go through, and have deduced that the resource.cfg file is what is not allowing me to successfully patch. If anyone can supply me a clean, untouched original version of the file, then I can go to sleep and stop pulling out my hair, and avoid the dreaded 5 hour complete re-installation.
