If the rumor mill was correct, you were supposed to be able to sell the virus to the burglar but at some point that option was disabled.  Or something...  You never know with the rumor mill.
352  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Suggestions for Death and Destruction? on: 2006 July 21, 06:29:58
Yes, but that's not contagious and won't actually afflict other sims.
Ooh, there's an idea!  Contagious food poisoning!
353  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Suggestions for Death and Destruction? on: 2006 July 21, 06:08:29
avalikia i could kiss you.
No touchie!

I never got that one in the first place because my Sims weren't getting food poisoned often enough even without it.

Sick romance Sims might be a good idea...
354  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Too lazy for Sim Surgery? on: 2006 July 21, 05:37:38
It has (sort of), but it's still unfinished. Symptoms of its unawsomeness are unlit sims, and sims swimming or working out in everyday clothes Tongue
Theo, you get a gold star for mentioning that!
355  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Suggestions for Death and Destruction? on: 2006 July 21, 05:34:43
My reason for wanting something like that is because I'd like to put a chink in my ability to micromanage my way through everything.  I'm not the sort of person that likes to kill off my Sims intentionally, and the ways that they could accidently die aren't even close to frequent enough for my taste (with the possible exceptions of over-haunting by angry ghosts that I haven't moved to a graveyard).  I've got way too many elders making it to old age.  Perhaps if illnesses were harder to treat.  Or perhaps if the Sims only freaked out about the cockroaches the first time so that I don't feel the need to clean up trash so fast.  Oh!  If they could be food poisoned more easily - I can't keep them from eating crap all of the time.  Or maybe if the fire people had a much worse response time.  It would also help if Death was better at winning that game.  I don't really want a mass destruction of townies (I feel no reason to hold back killing them through other methods), but some slight destruction of playable Sims would help.

I would like this too!
357  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: The Tough Luck Challenge on: 2006 July 18, 18:44:27
Well, sure.  The one child could die horribly in an unforseen accident and you'd lose the challenge.  Especially since one of the other rules is that you can't save without quitting.
358  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a micromanagers anonymous? on: 2006 July 18, 06:52:30
What, you mean you actually left their queue empty long enough for them to do that themselves?

...All those guys wearing makeup are giving me the jibblies...

Can't wait for part two!
360  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Ruin Kicky Bag Game on: 2006 July 16, 05:00:20
Hah!  Especially if it was autonomous for mean sims.

One problem though: Unlike money, new animations don't grow on trees (though it would be so cool if they did).
361  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Lying Low Challenge on: 2006 July 16, 04:05:44
It's not as amusing as the email challenge.

Well, very few people are awesome enough to fill that standard.

However, if you ever wanted to adopt a baby, you'd end up adopting those Sims that you desperately want to get rid of.

Give Dead Token?

Aw, but that's no fun.
364  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a micromanagers anonymous? on: 2006 July 14, 23:12:29
Hi, I'm ElfPuddle. I'm a compulsive micromanager...AND I LIKE IT.

Compulsive is one thing.  Obsessive compulsive is another, much less likable thing.
365  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a micromanagers anonymous? on: 2006 July 14, 07:04:27
Thanks Sagana, that actually helps a lot!
366  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sim Murder on: 2006 July 13, 23:35:43
Actually I was thinking about this a few days ago.  It would be really nice if someone could make a hack that gives the loser of a fight a chance of dying.  Adds a little bit more tension to what is otherwise a silly wrestling match.
367  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a micromanagers anonymous? on: 2006 July 13, 05:11:17
If I start a religion to worship you will you run my life too?  :p

Of course I will!  But it requires you to legally sign everything you own over to me and there will be no refunds if you change your mind.  Oh, and there's a 20 page contract you need to sign that waves all your rights to sue me if anything goes wrong, gives any money you earn to me, and allows me to sign you up for unnecessary surgery without your consent and such.  You know, the standard deal.
368  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Harder Jobs + OFBp2 Fixes on: 2006 July 12, 20:52:50
At the moment, I'd say "not enough", though that may change.  I've got the fixes in my game at the moment and I'm considering the harderjobs portion because I hate how it lets me skip job levels.  But I'm a little concerned about the number of openings in the upper levels because I've got a few really big neighborhoods (I expect them to become BFBVFS's soon) and if the numbers are as restricted as I'd assume that you'd prefer, there'd be way too much competition.  Then again, I may change my mind later.  I dunno, I guess I just want to know how flexible it is, and since this is more of a personal preference thing that's why I asked if I would be able to modify it myself.  It's not a problem with the mod by any means.
369  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a micromanagers anonymous? on: 2006 July 12, 09:19:25
Sim behavior is essentially sadorandom.

That's precisely what I find so facinating about it.

*tries to figure out how to explain, fails

Erm, it's complicated but that's why I like it.

Oh, and mistymage:  Although it's not in-game, I often use this website to add randomness.  It gives you about the closest thing to true random numbers possible.  I've actually gone through some neighborhoods in SimPe using that website to generate random numbers so that I could randomize personalities when the game spits out too many clones.  Better than rolling dice, even.
370  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a micromanagers anonymous? on: 2006 July 12, 04:23:21
Oh, I've totally gotta try the I'm Surrounded by Idiots thing.  I thought of so many ways to get my one controllable Sim to get other Sims to do what I want to do without controlling them directly already, but it would still be a definate challenge.

But I actually don't think that allowing my Sims more freewill is the solution to my problem (I'm actually facinated by how Sims act with freewill, so much so that I'm doing This).  I can actually sit on my hands quite happily if I need to.  The trick is for me to somehow temper my micromanaging ways while actually retaining control of the Sims.
371  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a micromanagers anonymous? on: 2006 July 12, 00:16:42
Actually their major in college doesn't matter a whole lot when I play because by the time they get to college they have all the skills required to finish any of the majors.  That basically makes their major a moot point because all they have to do to get a 4.0 is fill up the always expanded bar.  (Yes, I totally need some professional help).
372  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Is there a micromanagers anonymous? on: 2006 July 12, 00:03:27
I think I have a serious problem:  All my Sims are paired off as soon as I know their gender (like, seconds after they're born), get all their toddler skills, get straight A's as kids and teens, have 25+ skill points when they go to college, graduate summa cum laude, marry within hours after graduating, get along nicely if not extremely well with everyone, get to the top of their career, acheive their LTW, always grow up well, and die of old age.  I have not yet achieved total perfection in running businesses, but I'm well on my way.  I do all this without cheats and only download hacks that fix actual problems.

Therefore, I'm organising my own intervention.  We need to totally mess up my micromanaging ways before I stop having fun with this totally awesome game.  I am hoping to follow these rules from now on, and you guys can propose more if you would like to help me solve this problem:
1.  No more quitting without saving when bad things happen.
2.  No more planning out marriages: wait until the Sim is at least a teen instead and have them go after Sims they're attracted to.
3.  Stop abusing the aspiration awards.
4.  Stop making sloppy sims clean so much, lazy sims excercise so much, playful sims study so much, and mean sims be so nice.
5.  Stop abusing the pause button.
6.  Stop abusing the queue.
7.  Assign aspirations randomly.

Any other suggestions?

Is there a way I could modify the number of openings in the upper levels or would that be too complicated for me to bother with?
374  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Eyes don't enlarge when they should on: 2006 July 11, 08:18:02
Lol, Jordi.  Actually lots of animals have extra eyelids.  In fact humans actually have them - all though they're so tiny they don't work at all.  Take a good look at the inner corners of your eyes sometime and you can just barely see them - they're the wet pink things.  Lol, I'm a biology major and I know more than anyone ought to about that sort of thing.

Frankly, I think that those custom eyes you are a little freaky-looking.  Remindes me of that alien that had a mouth in its mouth.
