TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Origin screws my computer
|
on: 2015 February 14, 15:25:04
|
I have been having computer issues lately, I refreshed my computer, it is a Windows 8 thing that saves you files but removes all installed software and installs all original drivers etc. After the refresh everything was running fine, when I reinstalled origin I started having the same issues again. Has anyone else had this sort of thing happen? Now I have to weigh whether it is worth playing the Sims 4 or not. How I wish EA would have just improved upon the Sims 3 instead. . . Origin blows. But you already knew that. . .

This is not an AM bug, moron. Don't use the automatic updater, learn to update it your own damn self. It's not hard.
I do know how to do it manually thank you, I just thought that since Pes when through the trouble to make the auto updater I would use it. By the way, I am a Asinine Airhead not a moron, get with the program.

I have been using the automatic updater for a long time now. I have been away from the game for the summer and now when I try to use the updater I get this error "ERROR: cannot verify dl.dropboxusercontent.com's certificate" How do I get the updater to work again? Yes, I am a n00b and I have searched for an answer. I am using windows (cough, cough) 8.

I am using a PC, have been using the new way. Don't know which framework is old or new, but have tried everyone I could find, one by one (was using MTS framework and there auto set up of folders). I did get it to start working by deleting the mods folder all together then manually making the folders and putting everything back into the packages folder . Don't know why this worked but it did. Now I'm having a different problem, the game is running super choppy as if it is lagging every couple seconds for about 5-15 seconds then runs then freezes/lags all over again.

I have used AM on and off for a long time, but for some reason it will not work this time. I have the framework, with the resource.cfg, I have the mod>package folder. I even use the AM updater and it runs like everything is working, till I am in-game then AM is not there. I have tried the configsys. Everything is updated to the latest patches. I have removed the folders and tried reinstalling it all again. I followed every step at MTS, which are quite simple and pretty much impossible to mess up. I have also read posts that give alternates for the resource file and I have tried those. What could I possibly be missing here? This may or may not be a PEBCAK problem, please help me figure it out.

I finally got my game to run, I removed the sims 3 folder from documents> ea> sims 3. So it seems that the problem wasn't with Windows 8.1 but with something downloaded into the game.
My game runs now but AM does not! The AM updater runs like all is fine but when I get in game AM is not there. I don't know what to do at this point. Advice?

If anyone is interested, this is the report that my son found on my computer about this incident of me not being able to run the Sims now. If you know anything that can/might help I would greatly appreciate it. Sorry that I lack all programming skill.

Is anyone running windows 8.1 and if so are you having any problems with running Sims? I don't know if I'm having a problem with AwesomeMod or Windows 8.1 or the latest update for Sims, ugh.

Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / remove all puddles
|

I have lurked this board for hours and can not find any mention of this issue. I have used the removeallpuddles command and it has not worked! Has anyone used this with success? I need help, for some reason I have puddles that my sims can't reach to mop and the remove command would be great. Also, I have stinking windows 8, could that have anything to do with it not working?
