There were (are?) at least two "no mosaic" mods, one of which was a core mod, and would conflict with AM, and a later one which is not a core mod, and which seems to have no trouble running with AM.

For anyone who still has the problem of the flashing green numbers showing in the upper corner, none of the solutions posted previously worked for me,  but having the task manager open (this only works for Windows, obviously) when I start the game gets rid of it. Probably any "always on top" window will work.
