1  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Patched, Updated, AwesomeMod still shows as expired. on: 2011 January 03, 16:46:29
With all due respect, I've searched for it, found other threads, followed their advice, and they did not solve my problem.

Hint: AM only works with a fully patched game. Nuke your install, clean the registry, reinstall, patch all the way up. There's no other solution.

I reinstalled the game recently.  I think I've only played it twice since then, and I've used the patch utility from MTS to fully patch it already.  Still having the issue with AM.

3  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Patched, Updated, AwesomeMod still shows as expired. on: 2011 January 03, 00:26:40
I've been out of town for two weeks, but the last I played Sims 3 I had updated to the latest patch and the latest AM, everything worked fine.  I re-downloaded AM today because I'd been gone for so long, I got a message that my game version and AM version do not match.  To be sure, I re-checked that my game had the latest patch and that I had the latest AM.  I re-downloaded AM from a different mirror, just to be sure.  But when I loaded the game, again I got the message.  I continued anyway, eventually got this message:

"A core file not part of AwesomeMod does not match expected values.  This could be the result of a version mismatch or other third-party hack."

Again, I ignored this just to see.  But the next message I got told me that AwesomeMod was out-of-date, and brought me back to the desktop as if it were expired.

Help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

I believe Pescado mentioned that sometimes when you load a save for the first time, it takes forever.

In any case, you might wanna post the specs of your computer. I've just installed the new patch and it did take quite a fair amount of time to load the save for the first time and that's even when my computer is pretty good.

I did see that it was mentioned the first load might take forever.  However, it is taking 45+ minutes to load every single time.  As far as specs go:  I am running XP pro, 2GB of RAM, GeForce 9800GT video card with 1 GB of RAM.  Does that help?

Apologies if I should've posted this elsewhere.  I've searched and couldn't seem to find my exact issue.  Point me in the right direction if I'm simply lost.

I'm running Sims 3 + WA.  No HEL or Ambitions.  I recently did a reinstall and therefor updated to the latest patch (whatever the WA equivalent of 1.12 is).  I moved all of my CC to the new My Documents location (I am still using Windows XP) and the game seemed to work fine.  When the latest Alpha of Awesomemod was released, I celebrated, downloaded, and put it into the packages folder in the new location.

The game then wouldn't load.  I did a force quit, updated the framework, and tried again.  This time it took 45 minutes to load a quarter of the game (got past the initial WA screen fine, but once I selected a saved game to play, took forever).  After it loaded the first quarter, it jumped to 100% and into the game.  Just scrolling around had a lot of lag.  I selected a family to move into a home with the freerealestate feature, the game started to process, and then crashed.

I'm not 100% sure the problem is AM, but seeing as how everything works perfectly fine without it, it seems the most likely.  Can anyone help me out a little?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have a really hard time with this stuff and understanding it.  If I update to the 1.7 Patch without having WA, does that break my game?  I want to play but I haven't bought WA and I want to use Awesomemod, so I will  update to 1.7... but I don't have WA.  How does that work?
7  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Flagrant System Error on: 2009 October 08, 01:08:10
Okay, an update and a little more info:

I quit my last game unsaved because the error came every few seconds.  I restarted, emptied my sims' inventories of -everything,- and moved them to a new house, just to be sure.  I had the same error, at the exact same -time-.  11:03 PM, sim time.  One of my sims naturally aged up around 9 PM from YA to Adult.  That is the most recent significant event that occured before the freeze (although the first time, a toddler learned to walk in there too).  The sims in the house aren't doing anything other than watching TV, sleeping, or using the toilet.  I have no idea what's going on.

Awesomemod is the only mod I have installed.
I haven't downloaded any new custom content for at least a month.

Edit:  I managed to get passed the 11 o'clock flagrant error by fast forwarding, and managed to get through a couple days like this (and saving every other minute or so).  However, I forgot to do it on a different day, and the error still occurred in the 11 o'clock hour, and enter/clicking the okay button would not clear it, it would just pop up over and over.

Also just got Flagrant System Error.  Not sure what is going on, as far as I know nothing of note is in my sim's inventory (no food).  It pops up every few seconds so I can't save.

Also, is there anyway to activate for it to tell me when other sims in the neighborhood get married or have children?  More reminiscent of ISM.  Right now it tells me when other sims are going to work or are working on skills, which I don't really care about, but I do care about marriages and babies.
Enable InformOnStoryAction in the config file. The pop-ups will alert you to romantic interactions and marriages, households moving and pollinations. It doesn't report actual births though.

I have been playing with it enabled but it still is only telling me when sims go to work or move houses.  Nothing about marriages and pollination, although I've noticed them happening by going into edit town mode and checking on various families.  Is there another file that perhaps I'm missing?

I might be missing something, but the story driver hates a particular family of mine.  They went "homeless" (living in a hospital) and I have no way to make them my active family.  I even tried moving them in with another active family and then buying them a house.  It worked for a day or two, and then they "moved out" so another family could move in.  It even told me where they were moving (Minihaus) but I have yet to be able to find them on the neighborhood map.

Also, is there anyway to activate for it to tell me when other sims in the neighborhood get married or have children?  More reminiscent of ISM.  Right now it tells me when other sims are going to work or are working on skills, which I don't really care about, but I do care about marriages and babies.

I would, though, like to report that for the most part (other than the same family disappearing repeatedly) it is working free of bugs.
