There's also apparently new Dr. Pepper content. It doesn't show up until you enter a code, but there have been some pictures and posts about it on the EA Sims 3 forum. From what I've read, there's two rabbitholes, three shirts, face-paint, a TV and some kind of deco item.
All which have been linked in the Store Downloads thread for a couple of days now, but thanks for the timely timeliness. Since this post was made a couple of days ago as well, thank you for the timely correction, too.

In order to use the drag and drop method to decrapify, I think the packages you're decrapifying have to be in the same folder as decrapify.exe and s3rc.exe. You can't drag and drop from another folder. They are in the same folder, so that was not the issue (for me at least). On the surface, the drag-and-drop method seems to work fine - the 'last modified' date of the file does change and s3rc does take a few seconds to do something, but the resulting changed file still doesn't work. There is obviously some slight difference between the result of the drag-and-drop method and the command line method that makes a difference for my game. I don't understand what the difference is - I just stick to the method that works.

It does show up, which is what I'm trying to say - also, when it didn't work at all, it said it didn't work and gave me an error message. But it shows up under the download and in the installed content - but if I look in the game or in the folders, it isn't there.
That's what happens with my decrapified files if I just use the drag-and-drop method. They install, show up in the 'installed items', but as soon as I start the game they are uninstalled again. Just like unmodified store files. When I decrapify/recompress from the command line, the installed items show up in the game and they stay installed. I haven't got a clue why it would make a difference, but in my case it does.

I did copy & paste the name from the sims 3 website since I save the original files with the correct names in a folder for any emergency.
I copy/pasted from Drakron's thread. And then I tried a few variations. I usually use spell checker as well, for the same reason. I'm not a native speaker of English either. However, spell checker wouldn't have helped in case of a made-up word, and the store gave me an error page. So I took the gamble and posted. And then made the stupid mistake of writing a thank-you post. By the way, Jeromecraig, it should be "the feeble ones like Lissy's" - the mind, feeble though it may be, is something I possess, not something I am.

I already have an account. I just can't seem to find it in the settings to see if I gave my real bday or not. Has it even been confirmed that this set excists other than the photo? They probably just use the birthday to check your age. I've not seen the set confirmed anywhere, just the photos and pages with 'this object is unavailable'. I used my real birthday when I registered, and did not get the set on my birthday - and I've never heard of anyone who had.

Actually the whole point is that you have go sucker a non-cheapass friend into buying SimPoints through your referral link. If it all works as it should, you will both get one of the outfits, and you as the referrer will get 'free Simpoints' (they don't say how many, so it's probably going to be something laughable like 50 points...) I think it has to be their first bundle, though, for you to get any of the sets.

Hey for some reason the store packs aren't installing right. So yeah I get them on my desktop as .sims3pack and then double click on them and wait for it to finish, then click on it in my launcher and install it to game, but when I open my game it doesn't show at all! What the blizzy is going on? Thats not mentioning the more recent store items don't work at all... If you want to install through the launcher, you need to decrapify and recompress the files. You can find the programs you need and the instructions right here on this board.

Thanks. And for the record "Mactard" only refers to those on a Mac who are attempting to ARR the files and are not resourceful enough to find ways to decrapify them. Noted. Anyway, I wish I was savvy enough to be of help compiling the decrapifier for Mac, but I'm not... On the other hand, I knew when I got my Mac that this sort of thing was bound to happen. It's my own responsibility to find a way to make it work. EA Tech Support is a joke. Although if you're on a Mac, and nag on long enough about an issue, they will very often buy you off with free SimPoints. Someone in level 3 Tech Support actually admitted to me that they didn't have the game installed on a Mac in the support office. So I guess throwing SimPoints at me is easier than trying to fix my issues. I still have my issues, but I did get some four or five thousand free Simpoints out of it this past year...

With the old Mods folder set-up my game simply refused to read combined package files. With the new setup of the Mods folder, it does read them and chokes - it takes 35 minutes to start the game and about as long to load the 'hood with the combined package installed, while both take about 5 minutes when I take the package back out. It's probably a Mac thing, but really annoying. Anyhow, thank heaven for this site where I can get the Dr Pepper stuff without having to swallow the soda...

Yep, those are new items. I couldn't get them because I ran out of codes. Maybe tomorrow I get more.
I think there are ten new Dr. Pepper items in total. The gown, two shirts, the hair, a theatre chair, popcorn, two trophies, two wall hanging things.

The cheap low two-tile bookcase has the kids' and toddler books. The other bookcasess don't have those. Don't have Ambitions myself yet, but a lot of custom worlds I've tried that didn't have skill books in the library didn't have toddler books either.

I just discovered this today and just had to check it out. It's a gorgeous island - although some of the roads (the ends at the two points, and that corner where you fixed the road dip) are so close to the edge of the beach that they look to be in danger of being swept out to see on the next high tide. I saw that you fixed that one corner, but now it looks like there's a bump on the beach that isn't supported by anything. Maybe I'm being nitpicky, but it bugged me a little - I think it would look better if that corner and the two road ends weren't quite so close to the water. Or under water, like the one near the lighthouse. (The road near the church has the same 'dip' issue as that one corner used to have, judging from the pictures in a previous post...) That's my only quibble, though. I love what you did with the plants and the dunes at the back, and how natural the textures look. And the graveyard looks wonderful - almost like a park. It's refreshing to see a graveyard that isn't spooky - I could totally see myself sitting on a bench there reading a book... I love it that there are so many fishing spots and parks, too. And it's great to have a sandy island that is *not* riddled with palm trees. :8 I did get a few crashes, but this is not the only custom world where I have that issue, so maybe it's something intrinsic to CAW? ETA: Would you be willing to share your CAW version?

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: EA store stuff in *.dbc format - a torrent
|

They don't work for me either... Neither the pre-created .dbc files nor the big .package files that I've downloaded from various people here show up in my game. FWIW, normal .package files do show up, but they slow down my game. Decrapified Sims3Pack files do not install in my launcher, but store files install and work just fine - so I guess I'm going to have to join the sheeple and buy my stuff from now on. Or buy a Windoze machine, whichever is cheaper...

I installed some end tables from TSR and a few items from ATS, and they all stayed installed. And showed up in the game. I'm on a Mac, so I do not have CAW installed - and I have read somewhere else that for some people uninstalling CAW fixes the launcher. Also, I do not have a shop button in my game. I read on another forum that there's supposed to be a checkbox or something similar to switch shop mode off entirely, and I don't see that in my options either. My launcher has always been crappy, and now it actually seems to be working. The game never ran better for me, except that I'll have to convert all my booty to .package files if I want it to show up... So it looks like the game for Mac is messed up in a totally different way... edit:omgnowai, I didn't see your post - are you on a Mac or on Windows?

For the first time since I bought the game, my Launcher appears to be working as it should, so I did some testing of Sims3Pack files from various sites.
I can install store-bought content without a problem - as long as I re-download it through the store. I can also install Sims3Pack files from other sources (ATS and TSR) without any problems. They all show up, have the appropriate icon and work as they should.
The only problem I have is with recompressed files that I got from sites like MediaFire. They get installed by the launcher and then kicked out by the game. When I exit the game and check the launcher, the files show up as uninstalled. The EA pre-order bonus textures all work fine, but the other pirated files don't. Store stuff that I bought and then recompressed and archived on my computer gets kicked out, while the same file re-downloaded from the store works fine.
It does seem as if the game recognizes the pirated stuff and uninstalls it at start-up. I am not sure whether that has anything to do with the method of compressing or if it uses something more sinister to check your installed items against your purchase history...
