So you had mods at one time? Could you have some leftover in your install folders from before the new modding method?
27  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Service Initialization Failed (0x0175dcbb) on: 2010 November 14, 19:09:58
Whoa, glad I always create a backup first, then. I've never had any problem before with it, but there's a first time for everything. You could try going through your registry manually and looking for duplicate entries. Maybe use the search function?
28  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Service Initialization Failed (0x0175dcbb) on: 2010 November 14, 14:57:15
Did you try using CCleaner? If it really is a registry thing, that might clean it up. If it doesn't help and you do wind up uninstalling, it might be a good idea to run it before you reinstall, too.
29  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Weirdo Pregnancy Borking Game on: 2010 November 12, 14:14:07
That is weird. Did you try using fixall before the sim gives birth?
30  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Flagrant system error help! on: 2010 November 10, 11:51:18
Flagrant system error, maybe? There's two pages of results for it.
31  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims stuck on 'Have Birthday' on: 2010 November 08, 20:35:40
Mod conflict is usually a safe bet. Or more likely, just an outdated one since you mentioned you patched the game. Make sure all your mods are compatible with the latest patch, or go through them one at a time until you find the one causing the problem.
32  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: 4th speed stopped working? on: 2010 November 03, 04:12:22
Did you remember to remove your mods first? And check for conflicts and outdated ones?
33  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Missing ambitions objects on: 2010 November 03, 03:38:34

34  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patching Error, Ambitions. on: 2010 November 02, 22:26:38
I'd still recommend you find new copies and reinstall, but here.
35  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patching Error, Ambitions. on: 2010 November 02, 16:26:23
You cracked your game, didn't you?
36  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims 3 EPs on External Hard Drive? on: 2010 October 31, 15:22:46
For question 2, it shouldn't affect your CC at all. I've done it myself, and it used the folder in Documents as normal.

I'm not exactly sure about your first question. I would probably reinstall everything to the external harddrive just to limit things getting saved to weird places for weird reasons, but that's probably just paranoia on my part.

38  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Question About Order of Installation & Patching on: 2010 September 22, 15:14:42
I'm glad you asked that. My answer happens to be, yes, yes they should. Why, you ask?
Well, this is why, my friend, Jeeves.

Per se is a perfectly acceptable way of spelling it. Spoken by the people in the Urban Dictionary.  Cheesy While it may not be your definition of *correct*, it is still perfectly acceptable. I will still be loved if I use it out in general public, even if you, Jeeves, do not appreciate or love me for it.  Roll Eyes

Edit to add:
Quote
Taken from the Urban Dictionary:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=per%20se
Latin borrowing meaning "in and of itself", used in certain fairly specific, idiomatic contexts in casual English. Is typically used with a negative to indicate that a term being used is understood to be imprecise or off-the-mark (i.e., not accurate 'per se') in a case where the term is nevertheless useful to an explanation. Usually followed by an explanation or justification for the use of the term indicated. It is as well sometimes used preceding a term indicated, especially in more formal (e.g., legal) usage. In these contexts, usually used in the positive to reinforce a characterisation as fundamentally being the case (i.e., 'per se' accurate).

"It's not that I consider it a 'joke' per se. It's just that I don't think it takes the subject quite seriously enough, under the circumstances."

Now that we've got that out of the way, is there anyone who might be interested in saying something a bit more..... helpful? I have learned that I am retarded, along with another friend who happened to share my disability quite equally, here on this forum.

Though it is not in my nature to be unkind, I happen to have no issue giving back any sh*t that is slung in my direction. Once it's slung, it's fair game, and so are you. Plus, I don't take it personally and even enjoy a good bout of banter.  Roll Eyes

Anyway, I'd still love some information. Perhaps we can mix a little useful information into our commentary? What say you? What say we? Per se, smart-arse and so forth? Amen?

Urban Dictionary isn't a real dictionary. It's the creation of a bunch of illiterate 12s who wanted to justify their poor vocabulary and spelling skills by creating a comprehensive "dictionary" of stupidity and slang.
39  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Red World on: 2010 September 15, 19:24:44
I'm pretty sure I recall seeing a picture like that before on these forums. Did you check all your video drivers were updated?
40  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Update Error: File Not Found on: 2010 September 14, 16:46:49
I have arrquired my copies of Sims 3 and WA, both Region 2, and updated them manually all the way to the latest patches of 1.12.70.006002 and 2.7.7.006002.  Everything was fine, and AwesomeMod worked great.  Now enter, HELL -- as in, High End Loft.  The booty version I arrquired on my latest sea voyage turned out to be Region 1 which installed just fine.  Updating, on the other hand, is not fine.  I have version 3.0.38.004001 and I am trying to update manually to 3.1.7.004001 and I get the following:

"Update Error: File Not Found"

Would've been nice if it told me what file was missing, but I wouldn't expect as much from EA.  I've tried using "PatchLogViewer" to see if it would give me some kind of idea, but it says all is well.  I've searched up and down and across Google, but didn't find anything helpful.  I've searched here and I found one possible solution to copying the "bin" folder from the HELS image over to the hard drive, but that didn't work out.

Has anyone found away around this?  I'm not overly concerned, because I can just reinstall everything and try HELS again at an earlier patch version or just not bother with it at all.  It would be nice if I could find a way to avoid all that, though.

In other words, you're using the crack and it never occured to you this would cause a problem in the future?
41  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Does anyone use The Sims 3 with Steam? Is an internal FPS limiter possible? on: 2010 September 14, 16:40:54
It's DRM. You don't buy games through Steam. You just rent them for an indefinite period. I think it's a decent enough exchange for the convenience at the moment since the only game I have that requires an internet connection to play is TF2, but there's always the risk of Valve breaking up or getting bought out and the system being turned against us like other companies do.
42  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Game won't load on: 2010 September 01, 06:35:38
Nope, it isn't on the thread I downloaded AM from. I did eventually find a thread that DID give a link to the aweconfig site to generate the package file.

For those of you who so ENJOY calling us tards and idiots and all sorts of lovely names because we are looking for help, finding answers isn't as easy as you deem it to be. There are any number of ways you can word your search and just as many times will come up with completely different results. Don't assume that we've NOT spent hours going through the forums (on several sites) or Googling until our fingers bleed. Don't assume that typing in a reasonable phrase will magically give us exactly the thread we need. Don't assume that your insults and coarse language will send us scurrying in fear and set us on the straight and narrow path because most of us truly have done the footwork and still come up empty-handed.

So, no thank you Tever for your unwillingness to help and be sure YOU get your facts straight before dealing out the sarcasm.

Like I said: not exactly hidden.
43  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: I'm afraid I am awesomemodelly challenged on: 2010 September 01, 04:28:40
I would NEVER insult, call names nor any other number of juvenile responses I see being spat out by those who REALLY feel a sense of entitlement. I think Freud called this type of response "projecting"!

No, you would never call us names, but implying that we have mental health issues...well, that's fine and totally mature.

Incidentally, projecting means to attribute thoughts and feelings to another person that you yourself feel because you can't accept that you are the one feeling them. Please look up what your psychobabble means before you go on about your amazing IQ. I knew that, and I'm about as average as they come.
44  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Game won't load on: 2010 September 01, 02:58:51
Sorry if I'm coming across as an idiot, which I am not, but I've been all over this site and several others trying to find out where in the world I can get the Aweconf.package file. I understand it is necessary if you want to change any of the default options in Awesomemod...at least that's what is seemed like from the 9 page Readme I printed out that is a terrific volume of information regarding what the Mod does but doesn't seem to explain how to change it, leading me to assume ( I know, ass u me) that the aweconf file will take care of it nicely. I downloaded the mod yesterday and the only thing that came with the file was the awesome.package file. Oh... I finally got the game to load with the mod but this seemed like an easy/active thread to beg the question... :-)

Thanks!

...You couldn't be bothered to read the rest of the thread where you downloaded AM, then? Cause it's not exactly hidden.
45  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Does anyone use The Sims 3 with Steam? Is an internal FPS limiter possible? on: 2010 August 31, 07:32:27
I like Steam. It's convenient, even if they will one day gather an army of brainwashed masses to take on Google in a glorious power struggle. Try the 3Booter/FPS Limiter combo down in the Armoire. They're both .exe, so they might work.

@twoftmama,
is there a chance you could upload twinbrooks with cribs too?

Myskaal already did it. "Twinbrook: Pudding Pied".

Here you go.
48  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Stupid Sims 3 patch on: 2010 August 14, 20:31:52
Well...God damn it...-_-

I know, necromancy is not cute, tits or GTFO, I know. I just have one thing to ask. I will not even try to get into details about patching with this latest stupid patch, but trust me when I say - X.x Long story short - could somebody please be so kind to upload the TSHost.dll file from the Ambitions CD (not the one you have on your HD - that one is probably already patched, so I`d have no use for it). My .iso image of AMB somehow mysteriously lost it, and now I can`t install it, and b/c I can`t install it, I can`t patch and...well, you know. We all got the same mind fuck from EA...

So, if anyone is reading this and has 2 minutes of spare time...yea. I`d appreciate the shit out of that.

Maybe you should get a different .iso. Are you sure this one isn't broken in other ways?
49  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Frozen at the load screen (and queue that 'Grease' song to give my post a tune) on: 2010 August 13, 14:14:53
I wasn't offended,

Anyone else ever noticed how the ones trying to convince us they aren't offend are the ones acting most offended?
50  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Game refuses to load: film at 11 on: 2010 August 12, 16:52:42
No, I did a complete system restore and reinstalled everything. Backing up the harddrive before letting Windows update would probably work. Presumably you could just roll it back and try again without losing anything.
