Debster: been there done that--If your nocd.exe doesn't do the job, I can help Smiley What happened when this happened to me was: I had left a biut of the Securom shit on my PC but I had deleted most of it.

You need to do either--or: Either go thru and get rid of all trace of Securom, all the folders, all the reg keys, and then reload the game. Should work. Or try doing a restor back to before you installed BV or before you deleted some of Securom (this is what I did--I restored all the securom crap and started the rermoval prosess over--got it off the second time, got the game right the third time installing (PIB) abnd I now use the Fairlight NoCd.exe. Works great.
52  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Collections files for BV? on: 2007 October 26, 23:57:16
I have sooo many files that need to be'fixed'. I want a program to do automatically--to work the way the compressorizer does, just set it and forget it? Smiley
53  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Collections files for BV? on: 2007 October 26, 23:08:43
Yes, the files can be edited and made available in both comm and res lots, we can rename them and move their loading order and change the icons, really nice edits. However: the items inside the files are not made available on both type lots. If the tiem was made for both types then t is available on both, but only in that instance. And it's been this way since....Pets? Completely stupid editing ablilities if the items themselves are not made available. Another great job by EA.
54  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Collections files for BV? on: 2007 October 26, 22:19:32
Ea has really screwed these up, haven't they? Why why are things divided up into comm OR residential? Why are they all not both? I just don't get that at all.

I am hoping jfade, the king of the fast, mini-programs for Sims2, makes a program that will run thru the DLs and mark them ALL for both comm and res use.

A mod to fix ALL the items or at least the EA items in this way would be great.
55  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Moving vacation destination to a new hood on: 2007 October 21, 02:47:12
Yes, I see what you mean. It could be a problem not easily fixed.

Of course, the other option is to package the lots and move them, trying to ge tthem in 'order' (I've been neurotic enough to take a terrain and lay out empty lots that complete fill a block--something I've wanted my hoods to look like for a long time--real--or at least more real!) Keeping the order of the lots isn't going to be easy, but probably easier thantrying to rename lot files to fit into an existing hood...

That brings me to: how many people have actually shared and DLed vacation lots that have actually placed AND opened correctly? Anyone?

I know I have had trouble moving one v lot from one hood to another (packaged and then installed to bin to be placed in new hood)...of course it WAS a Maxis modifed lot that failed to open correctly so maybe it was because it was Maxis, somehow it seems possible and probable.....
56  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Did EAxis bork sharing beach front lots too? on: 2007 October 20, 21:28:25
I don't know how this would affect already built beach lots but:

I  too was pissed at the lack of beach front property on TI, so I tried the slope value change (at MTS2 by boatnana) files and this allowed better beach lot placement...well ok I didn't actually PLACE the lots, but I hovered over the beach front terrain (on several terrains too) and the beach lots turned green indicating I could place them.

I just had an issue trying to enter a lot from 3 Lakes, which had placed fine, in another vacation destination on another hood--hung the game until I finally had to 'end process' to get out.

Maybe sharing vacation lots is not going to work well?
57  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Moving vacation destination to a new hood on: 2007 October 20, 18:47:46
Has anyone done this?

I create a destination in hood 1. It's so good Smiley I decide I want to put it in hood 2. Can it be done?

If I create a destination in hood 2, using the same terrain and type for it as I used in hood 1, then replace the suburd file from hood 1 into hood 2--move the lots into the lots folder of hood 2 (making sure the names are correct)--this should work right or wrong?

Duh. Thanks. Smiley I thought the moses basket was something seperate--and since I refrain from most things religious in my game...and ok life too, my eyes kinda glaze over and start to skip ahead.. lol....
59  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Crib for the Economically Disadvantaged on: 2007 October 16, 23:28:43
I love this! But I want the drawer to close too.....

My son was born in Belize (at home--the 'natural way'-- amazingly gross and painful....) He got a hand woven basket.

Morrigarant: please find the maker of that basket! I must have it!

From what I understand, the installation of Securom by a noCD.exe is dependent on the noCd.exe that you get.The Fairlight version is said to be SecuromFREE, and proclaims itself to be so in it's ReadMe file that is included it the download.

All that 'will install on a user account/not on an admin acount' or whatever I think is BS. I am on Vista and use an Admin account and it installed the first time I installed, but not the second time. The first time, I did inadvertantly use the launcher ONCE. Then used the EA .exe and Securom 'got my PC' and I found the service and all folders installed.

The second time I installed BV, launcher was never used, went directly to the EA .exe and some of Securom was installed, keys and folders,  but not the service file. The third time I installed BV, I dropped the noCD.exe in right after the install finished and I never have yet played while connected to the internet (still recovering from the last Securom bout and I'm chicken cluck cluck) and I am, so far, Securom free.

Screw their lousy patch. I'll use God's (JM's) fixes, thank you.

Has anyone read: EA is telling everyone that using the noCd.exe is illegal--which if I understand everything correctly is ILLEGAL of THEM to be telling everyone that!
61  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage dissatisfaction on: 2007 October 16, 21:37:44
Walking between lots is working perfectly in my game.
62  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: BV patch is out on: 2007 October 14, 19:29:45
Ah. Thank you.

It wasn't too hard to jump to the conclusion that EA in their 'no thieving' frenzy (Securom) would require ALL the CDs. Sorry for jumping there.
63  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: BV patch is out on: 2007 October 14, 16:24:12
I read this over at S2C:  EA says "Please make sure you have your game CD's available during patch installation."

What? The patch runs you through all, ALL your game discs, all EPs? Is that right?

If this is true, I am so glad I bypassed, and will bypass the next also! What a colossal pain in hinny for all of us with all EPs! It drives me nuts when I have to reinstall the game (every week... Roll Eyes) to 'insert disc 1, insert disc 2, reinsert disc 1, etc.' through all of them. Now through ALL of them with the patches?? Say it isn't so!
64  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a fix for the blue screen of death? on: 2007 October 14, 16:13:03
"Is there a fix for the blue screen of death?" Yes: never own a computer. Smiley

You don't list what driver you're using. I would try the 163.75 at guru3d.com, if you haven't yet. I too was having the ramdom crashing until I found the driver stash at guru. Guru = good. Try it.

And yes! Simmies belong on a high res LCD screen. I went from a hi res CRT to an Asus LCD--the difference was incredible!
65  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: DJSims' Wardrobe Wrangler on: 2007 October 11, 15:23:51
I used V4 last night and it worked great, much faster. I didn't do any jewelry tho (threw all mine out too.) I love Jfades programs. They are essential like JM's and TJs hacks.

"Burn it out! Burn it out!" Ah, that explains the playing in the fireplace.
67  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: BV and no CD? on: 2007 October 10, 00:09:12
Oblivion, Elder Scrolls (newest versin) does not have copy protection. And good for them!
68  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Quick question on lot transplants. on: 2007 October 07, 15:06:33
I moved an entire hood, lots and sims, to a new terrain using packaged lots and clean installer and SimPE. With CI I installed only the lot and the sims living there, no need to install any items/recolrs as all of that is in the DLs folder anyway. I next placed all lots without opening any of them. Next I went thru ewith SimPE and edited as needed. Then I started entering lots.

I found that some lots had stuck sims and some did not. I went back to SimPE and found the only difference to be those with stuck sims--the sim's memories did not have the sim Initalized and the Sim loaded markers. I put those in and everything was ok...so far.....we'll see Tongue

Of course the other option -- NOT moving them -- was to start a new hood and I would rather take the chance of a flaming ball then go thru starting a new hood. Maybe next time I'll choose making a new hood from scratch.
69  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: BV and no CD? on: 2007 October 05, 01:44:36
I'm on Vista and I have BV going with the fairlight noCD exe. It goes in the BV TSBin folder --where the sims2EP6.exe is (and yes you oughta be scorched a bit for asking that one Smiley)  Keep a copy of the original as you'll need it if you get Hobbies, but I have no idea why you'd give them one more penny after this shit.....

Oo, thank you! *earmarking page so if I need it next time* I love this hack it's so perfect for the trailer courts. Smiley
71  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: BV: Anybody Updating These Abandoned Mods? on: 2007 September 29, 15:05:51
I have a hack named shrubtoilet.package which allows sims to pee outside in the bushes Smiley It appears to work fine with BV, at least so far, haven't really peed much yet.... I want to know who made it? Anyone know?
72  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The hidden lots in BV on: 2007 September 29, 14:59:38
It would be really nice if we had the option to see the lot when testingcheats were enabled. I'd like to be able to see my secret society lots too. The real question I guess, since EA will never fix that, could a hack be made to give us that option?

Bigfoots home is so sad! I want to remodel for him.
73  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: family lost through the cracks in the game on: 2007 September 29, 14:31:45
I 'lost' a sim too. Called her on the phone from her 'best' friends house. She came. I was trying to get her back without any cheats.I got the relationship up and, if I remember right--I've slept since then, I got the move in option, only she wouldn't move in. I finally went for the tombstone and got her. She got on a PC, moved out, I moved her into her original house.

Of course, the house was empty of all belongings and had to rebuy everything. Weird: when I checked her firdge it had her fish that she had caught days before--but lost all her fruits and veggies which were in the juicer. I thought if the fish was there in the 'new' fridge, then the fandvs would be in the 'new' juicer, but nope.

The hotel she waslost t, is 'open' for business in that the bed overhead is gone and it is enter-able. When you say that lot is broken and should be leveled: does that mean if I send a sim there they'll be 'lost'? Or did you mean that your hotel lot never lost the bed icon, never 'opened' up?
74  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: BV and no CD? on: 2007 September 28, 14:08:09
Yes, thanks! Easy enough to find....at the beginning of the thread.....
75  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: BV and no CD? on: 2007 September 27, 20:41:23
Ok, don't know enough here: an image is used simply to run the game without the CD, right?

So if I want this crap off my PC, I need to get it removed (so far nothing worked--I have Vista Home 64bit) but I won't give up-- then reinstall with a pirated copy--which I am assuming will install without the Securom--and then use the 'Fairlight' image to load up with? I'm assuming that a search will give me all this stuff and it's not hard to find....

Please someone educate me here... Sad
