Well at least post in the right fucking thread then, no need to start your own. There's a perfectly good thread relating to Awesomemod bugs, conveniently placed in the Awesomemod section. You might have seen it, "The New Bug Thread".

My bad, sorry. Having a n00b day today. Over there it goes!
27  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: NonAwesome popup and no school bus on: 2009 August 27, 05:59:44
WHY don't you first at least TRY to do a search? There's a wonderful and useful field up there, right under your avatar.
Newsflash: searching for the title of that popup window will give you EVERY FUCKING INFORMATION YOU NEED ABOUT.

DO IT.

Did you look at the picture? It doesn't HAVE A title. But I'm looking around; it's the Flagrant System Error, isn't it?

EDIT: it also doesn't explain the lack of school buses or randomly piling rockstar buses.

Can someone please tell me what the hell this is?
http://s683.photobucket.com/albums/vv196/Jerktits_hammer/?action=view&current=errormessage.png

I'm pretty sure it has to do with Awesomemod. I have a sim who collects Rockstar busses in her inventory and I have to purge them all the time. This randomly started popping up every time she tried to go to work at the music career, and she had to quit her job. Now it seems like it just pops up at random.

Also, school buses are not coming for the kids anymore. I have to manually make them go to school and home. What's the deal?
29  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: 1.4 patch is now out on: 2009 August 07, 14:45:59
I'm still getting a crash at the neighborhood screen.  Roll Eyes No cc, no mods, no anything but pure base game. Nice.

EDIT: My bad, reboot fixed that. But I am still getting the stupid jump bug where sims won't do anything. Patch didn't fix shit. Game's unplayable.
30  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: 1.3 patch stupidificated the sims. on: 2009 August 01, 11:28:16
Not necessarily.

Of course not necessarily

But mods change scripts, said changes can be incompatible or create issues after a patch that introduces changes.

The always observed rule-of-thumb is remove all mods and check if the mods are compatible with the patch, if so then use and if not wait until it is and then use it.

In the old days in order to use a mod you usually had to have some degree of computer literacy but these days with automatic installers you have a lot of people that cannot even find the directory the game was installed on using mods.

In this case, the patch is fucking up the vanilla game. Fresh install, no mods or custom content. Even most people people who don't get the unplayable problems like constant route failing are getting weird neighborhood-breaking glitches. The problem I'm getting is a form of route failing, only sims insist on getting in a taxi to go anywhere.

After the patch, my game asked for CD, too, with Awesome Mod in the mods folder. Of course it was my stupidity: I put the Inteen in the override folder, core mod and all. The moment I took out the Inteen core, the game started up without problems. Try searching your mods folder for some other core mod, it looks like something disables the AM.

FYI, I have the RLD (!) patched to Razor, patched to 1.27 to 1.3. Runs smoothly, no crashes, no problems, no nothing.

AM is the only core mod I have. All the other mods work fine, so this is baffling me. I wish EA could just make a game that...You know. WORKS.
32  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Why aren't my mods working? on: 2009 July 31, 20:54:35
I'm having this problem also, but specifically with Awesomemod. All my other mods work fine. :/
33  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: 1.3 patch stupidificated the sims. on: 2009 July 31, 20:53:10
Patch works fine with me.

I do not bitch about the fact I did a very stupid thing and left enablescripterror.package and it caused a CTD when I tried to load a neighborhood.

In fact why the FUCK are you complaining about the game not working when you have MODS? if there are issues with pathfinding and you have a mod install TAKE A FUCKING WILD GUESS TO WHAT THE FUCK IS CREATING THE PROBLEM.

I give you a hint.

ITS THE MOD !!!!

I thought I said I tried it without mods, but whatever...
Mods are not the problem. Even with a vanilla game, the patch fucks it up.
34  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: New problem. on: 2009 July 31, 20:43:02
Okay, the problem is bigger than I thought. Apparently Awesomemod isn't installed at all. I have the latest .NET framework, I used the monkey tool, I did everything right...but Awesomemod isn't fucking installed. All my other mods work perfectly.

Again, I have the razor version, the second patch, and the razor crack. What the hell.
35  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod mirror/dresser options not working. on: 2009 July 31, 17:11:08
Aweconf.package has the settings for Awesome.package, you need it alongside it.
The configuration page lists in detail what every option does -- for a noob I suggest sticking to defaults, possibly only enabling TestingCheatsEnabled.

Thank you. It still isn't working though and I can't imagine why. Awesomemod should be installed correctly, I have the framework and all that. I used Delphy's monkey tool to install. Should I be typing
"showconfig" or "<showconfig>" or some other variation?
36  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod mirror/dresser options not working. on: 2009 July 31, 17:04:00
Try to delete the .cache files and load up the game again.

It could be a debug code. It's part the XML Configuration Tool. so you can enable it there. It's disabled by default.

Tried deleting the .cache files, didn't do anything.
When I install the "aweconf" file, do I install it with the "awesome" file? And what do I enable exactly? I'm sorry, I'm bad at this crap.
37  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod mirror/dresser options not working. on: 2009 July 31, 16:57:57
Either you have not properly installed AM, or you have not configured it correctly.

Does 'showconfig' work? If so, it is installed. In that case I assume you haven't enabled the testingcheats option.

Showconfig does not work. Even after enabling testingcheats, still doesn't work.
38  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Awesomemod mirror/dresser options not working. on: 2009 July 31, 16:49:46
I'm probably just a lame n00b and not doing this correctly.

But it's shift+ctrl+c to open the console window, right? If I want to change a sim's clothes for example, I'd type,
"dresser Sam Sekemoto"
It doesn't seem to be working, nor does the mirror thing or...anything. The window says "dresser is an unknown command" or something.

If I'm doing it wrong, call me names. If not, then there's a problem here. I have the razor version of the game with the second patch and the latest version of Awesomemod.
39  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: 1.3 patch stupidificated the sims. on: 2009 July 30, 07:55:28
ffs, someone post a pic of this crap in action.

I would, but now I've replaced the crack with the original TS3 file and now the game won't even get passed the neighborhood screen. It says "Please insert disc" or some crap, even with Awesomemod installed. What the hell, EA. What the hell.
40  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: 1.3 patch stupidificated the sims. on: 2009 July 30, 07:11:21
Pic please, this sounds hilarious.

Aaand it's not happening in my game... so I guess it must be something weird in your game.
Guessing here, maybe it has to do with the crack -- companies like disabling the stolen versions in creative ways (like GTA4's drunk driving). The upside is that if you use Awesomemod, you won't need a crack: restore the original (stolen) exe, and it should run, as AM disables the disk check.

NO PIXPLZ FOR YOU. Maybe later.

I thought it could be the crack, so I tried it with the original file. Even with Awesomemod, it demanded I put a disc in at the neighborhood selection screen. :|
41  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / 1.3 patch stupidificated the sims. on: 2009 July 30, 06:51:16
A lot of people seem to be having this problem and no solution was found yet, as far as I've seen.

I've uninstalled/reinstalled TS3. No custom content whatsoever. First patch installs fine. Second patch installs fine. Though I notice when I try to play the game after the 1.3 patch, my sims are too stupid to live. Every time they try to go somewhere, they get in a taxi...even if they're in THEIR HOUSE. Which means a taxi comes blowing through the damn wall to try and take them somewhere, then there's a jump bug. 1.3 has made the game completely unplayable.

Putting my CC back does nothing. I've reinstalled and tried everything, but this stupification is directly related to the 1.3 patch. I have the razor version and crack. I'm pretty sure I've installed the right version of the patch. What the hell is going on?
42  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Game royally f'd by patch. (RESOLVED) on: 2009 July 29, 10:50:53
Okay, problem solved. Turns out you have to remove the registry value for the actual listing on the add/remove programs list. :| Pain in the ass, but here's the instructions: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314481
43  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Game royally f'd by patch. on: 2009 July 29, 06:18:07
I had the same problem, uninstall stopping halfway and the error code. My anti-virus software also pop out warnings about a malware. I'm not sure if I'm on the right track but it worked for me.

What I did was change my Windows Firewall setting. I added The Sims 3 on programmes under the Exception list. I was able to uninstall fine after that.

Well, that doesn't seem to be the problem here, but thank you. Smiley I have Windows Firewall disabled and use Comodo.
44  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Game royally f'd by patch. on: 2009 July 29, 06:11:55
I have a legal version, but get the same retarder error on uninstalling.
This seems to be a widespread problem -- the (un)installer is broken.

I was able to remove it using the Smart Uninstaller tool from Vista Manager, which is downloadable (and crackable) everywhere.

If you want to try reinstalling without first cleaning the system, try launching setup.exe with the /force or -force flag -- most Installshield installers accept a commandline option like that.

Smooth, EA.

I'm running XP, will it work with that?

And damn I sound like a noob, but how do I force setup? Just add that to the end of the filename or something? Sorry for the stupid questions.
45  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Game royally f'd by patch. on: 2009 July 29, 05:56:04
I have the Razor version and the patch before 1.3. Everything was working fine, but the game wouldn't patch to 1.3 for some reason or another. I tried to uninstall Sims 3, but add/remove programs was giving me a hard time and wouldn't do it. So I did the smart (see: retarded) thing and just deleted every trace of the game from Program Files, the registry, my documents, etc...

Problem is, it still shows up in my add/remove programs list and acts like it's still installed. It acts like the latest patch is installed too, because when I try to reinstall the game it says "You are trying ot install an earlier version than the patch you have" or some crap.

When I try to remove it from add/remove programs it says :
"An error [-5005 : 0x8000ffff] has occurred while running the setup.
Please make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other applications."

I've ctrl+f'd the hell out of the registry and deleted what I hope is every trace of the game, but I think it's just the patches that are the problem.
