WCIF: A way to put plants into the family inventory so I can move with my garden?

This can be done via an option in AwesomeMod.

I've had queue interruption from normal sims too. My band members are jamming and then some idjit tries to chat to one of them, dragging them off their instrument.

Thanks, will try that.

I have another question about building in CAW. I want to make a sort of beach ballustrade in my world, to go with the old-fashioned-looking city center. There is an example in Twinbrook next to the "Twinbrook Esplanade" community lot, a stone fence that goes along the river. I haven't found anything like that in CAW game objects though (there are stone post/fence objects but they look too modern and it's hard to line them up properly). Does anyone know of an object I could download that would fit? I'm looking for something similar to this: http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/thumb_407/12442661132mnHBX.jpg

My CAW (latest version) likes to crash with an "attempted to read or write protected memory" error. This usually happens either when I use terrain sculpting for longer than ten seconds, or when I've just returned from EIG. Anyone experienced this?
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Age transition broken for vacation world residents on: 2010 August 30, 13:24:24
I use Twallan's Master Computer to check sim status, but I can see it regularly as well. My sim's Chinese wife's parents have been adults since the beginning of the game, while her brother (their son) became an elder and quickly died while visiting Sunset Valley once (so apparently the age transition does trigger but only in rare cases). In the meantime I've been visiting China for weeks (my first sim advanced from YA to VERY old elder in this time), and yet none of the Chinese residents aged up, they are still the same age they started at (I've specifically looked at the special merchant in China, who starts as an elder, and he is still alive and at the same age in my game).

I'm wondering if Twallan's story progression is somehow responsible as I have it enabled for vacation worlds, but Twallan claims aging works fine for him, so... Only other age-related mod I have is Rule of 6 from this site.

So I have an odd problem. Vacation world residents are aging, but their age category transitions never trigger, so they always remain in the age category they started, and never die. Has anyone encountered a bug like this?

I thought Twallan was a him? But anyway yes the supercomputer, now renamed the controller is good for all sorts of demographic data on your town.
Whoops.  I tend to guess wrong what someone's gender is online unless their user name is something obvious like SexyBunnyChick.

That's a sure way to determine that the user is a him.

Nope, I'm playing at default lifespan, with your rule of 6 mod for age categories.

Anyway, I'll see how it goes, I just remember seeing more first-generation marriages in Sunset Valley before, but now it seems nobody can get to that point. The sims are all default SV ones.
9  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 July 22, 14:58:15
1. Poor compatibility between sims. If none of the sims in your neighborhood are terribly compatible with each other, their romantic actions tend to make poor progress.

How tight is this? I'm thinking compatibility restrictions could perhaps be loosened somewhat. In real life not all marriages by far are between fully compatible people. Sure, they might break up later, but at least they'd have time to procreate to keep the neighborhood alive.

Another thing might be to make romantic interactions more frequent. I do see messages about romantic interactions between sims, they just happen so rarely that they never have a chance to reach marriage before dying of old age. They could also use some concentration, so that once a sim acquires a romantic interest, their future interactions will be with that sim. Right now I'm seeing sims (who are not heartbreakers) having interactions with many different sims in succession, which spreads their effect and once again slows down progress to the point of marriage.

Has anyone noticed a severe lack of marriages under the recent versions' AM story driver? I've played a new game in Sunset Valley for nearly a generation now and there have been NO marriages (sims do engage in romantic actions but it never goes any further).
11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Stupid Sims 3 patch on: 2010 July 12, 14:24:29
After patching my game (I have base, WE, and Ambitions) to the latest patch manually (the launcher didn't even detect the new version), every time I load a game or start a new world, it loads normally then stalls at about 95% of the loading progress bar. I've seen posts where people described the same problem. Reinstalling didn't help, could this be related to custom content?
12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Create-A-World Tips, Tricks, and Annoyances on: 2010 July 12, 14:21:54
Would anyone happen to have a handy list of what size lots (minimum) are needed for various rabbithole objects? I'd like to give creating my own world a try but I don't want to accidentally create too little space for important rabbitholes.
13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Blank family tree portraits on: 2010 May 16, 10:21:30
I wonder if the Goths' portraits are buggy? In several games, wossisface, Mortimer, kept his child portrait to at least adulthood - even when the Goths were the active fambly.

He does in my games too, same with Arlo Bunch.

Recently my neighborhood started having a "phantom butts" problem. I use "fixall" and it clears like 12 of them, then after 10 minutes of gameplay I do fixall again and it clears several of them. Evidently they keep popping up continually (what are "phantom butts", anyway?), is this a sign of impending neighborhood implosion?

Excellent mod, AM storymode is being slow with pollination in my current game. Would it be possible to extend the pollination availability also to females who have fiancees and boyfriends? We need some single mothers out there!

16  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesome Story Driver Beta-Testing reports on: 2009 August 23, 12:32:56
I'm definitely seeing non-gold digger YAs hooking up with elders quite often. IMO single or widowed elders should rarely be romancing at all unless they have appropriate traits (Flirty, etc).

Also another request, currently sims who don't have a job-related LTW don't seem to get a job until their cash drops very low, below §100 or so. Would be better if most sims got a job as soon as they can (unless they are couch potatoes or something), so they could build up their cash and perhaps afford to move into the more expensive houses someday.
17  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesome Story Driver Beta-Testing reports on: 2009 August 22, 17:49:05
Noticed a few sims romancing, but it definitely happens much less than before. It seems like the new skill gaining gets higher priority from most sims.
18  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesome Story Driver Beta-Testing reports on: 2009 August 22, 16:19:52
Noticed the same, no romancing or pollination with the couple of latest versions, despite there being plenty of singles around.
19  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesome Story Driver Beta-Testing reports on: 2009 August 22, 13:56:33
The (simultaneously) creepy and wonderful thing about the gay in my neighborhood has been the fact that much of the 'playing for both teams' activity you see above is elders. If someone's hetero-spouse dies in my neighborhood, the widow/widower will grab the nearest unattached YA or adult of the same sex and start in with the lovin'. I'm gonna have to build a swinger's retirement village.

Touching on this, could AM slightly reduce the amount of elder-YA romancing that goes on? In my neighborhood the same thing happens, every single or recently widowed elder is roaming around lookin' for love, and they usually hitch up with YAs who would be better used pollinating someone their own age. At the very least romancing with female elders should take a big hit since they cannot procreate.
20  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 August 21, 20:34:10
Excellent, one of my beefs was that sims never developed work-related skills unless you put them on SupCom.

Out of curiosity, how do they go about acquiring items to skill up Guitar, Writing, or Painting? The other skills have books or readily available items/locations but those three require specifically purchased items.
21  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesome Story Driver Beta-Testing reports on: 2009 August 20, 10:50:57
I don't seem to have excessive marrying in my game - in fact there are tons of singles in my neighborhood right now who could have hooked up but don't seem to want to.

One funny thing though, my original sim's daughter married a Landgraab son who is flirty. Whenever I leave him on his own for a moment he goes to flirt with his mother-in-law. Roll Eyes

As for family members dying, my sims generally do the cheering animation right after the death sequence plays out, so I assume they don't really care about the deceased buggers. Grin

EDIT: I also have a question. If I make a household sim a non-selectable NPC via EA debug command, will it start using AM story mode like a non-household sim?
22  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The NRaas Standalone WorkPusher on: 2009 August 19, 20:32:20
I hadn't noticed anything different about the Criminal career, odd.  Somehow, Nick Alto has been getting his ass to work regularly enough to be promoted past Clare Ursine (my active sim) to the point where he is now assigned as her boss.  I have also observed him arriving at and leaving the building.  I have no idea about my other nhood criminals, since I really havn't been paying a lot of attention to them.

In my games Nick Alto always quits his business career and joins criminal (per his LTW), and becomes Emperor of Evil in about a week. Either he's *really* good at it or he cheats somehow.
23  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesome Story Driver Beta-Testing reports on: 2009 August 18, 12:13:08
I would like for married sims whose traits are completely opposite of each other to have some chance of divorcing. Also would like to see teens romancing as well, so they can get some boy/girlfriends for the future.

24  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 August 16, 17:07:37
Those paper kids and babysitter teens actually go to school, too. You can meet them there.
25  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 August 15, 10:29:29
You could check the total number of bed space across all houses in the neighborhood and then let us set a percentage in the config that we would like filled. So say if we have 100 bed spaces and set the percentage to 50% then ASM would generate immigrants until there are at least 50 people in the neighborhood.
