26  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Converting to a world file on: 2015 March 28, 02:03:52
Bummer about making a world file.  I have the hood saved in a state I like, new buildings, lots etc.  all done from edit town without going into live mode, so hopefully it doesn't, or shouldn't become corrupted.  I use that to start fresh games, and periodically I'll go in and redo something.

What I wanted to do, was start a game in Isla Paradiso (or whatever the hell it is) so my sims can do the scuba diving and discover all the crap there, then move them to my saved hood.  I suspect moving to a new hood doesn't allow access to a saved world, but just the base worlds.
27  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Converting to a world file on: 2015 March 22, 16:45:39
Is it possible to convert a saved game into a .world file to be installed and used like a base world?  I have modified the world I use with new lots, etc. through edit town, and would like it as a stand alone world for when I want to move sims between hoods.

Which brings me to the next question, did Eaxis improve the method by which sims move between hoods?  The TS2 system would screw up your game, is TS3 any better or reliable?

Some extra information about what actually happens, other than just issues, would be useful.  Many things can screw with a computer.
29  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Request Thread on: 2015 January 30, 15:37:00
According to the code, the AskForAutograph action occurs at NonCriticalNPCBehavior level, which is lower than actions you queue, so it should not stomp. What exactly is occurring? Are your sims asking, or being asked?

My celebrity sims are being asked by random sims, and it queue stomps everytime, placing the "Be asked for autograph, or "have photo taken" action as the only thing in the queue.  I can requeue for after that, but should another random sim approach and ask, the new queue gets stomped and replaced with the actions for the next random star-struck sim.
30  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Request Thread on: 2015 January 24, 19:52:16
If you feel so inclined at some point, would it be possible to stop the ask for autograph and have photo taken options from queue stomping and cancelling any and all queued actions?  I could live with the interaction either being inserted as the next queued interaction, while leaving the other queued tasks remaining, or placing it at the end of the current queue.

This might be stupid but why are you even using a crack version of the game? Its cheap enough now you can just buy it. No offense to anyone I was just wondering.

There are a couple of reasons, firstly, as posted previously, alot of people don't want Origin installed.  With TS2 and TS3 you could still play the game AND patch without needing to install Origin (or the older EA Downloader).  Secondly, for alot of people even $10 is too much to pay EAxis for how fucked up and broken they are leaving the games.  When you read all the complaints about what is missing with TS4 and how stripped down and fucked up it is, why would you want to actually pay for it, at any price?  Some might even argue that the time spent downloading and installing is too much to pay.

After all, they did leave TS2 and TS3 full of bugs and glitches when they walked away from them, so why expect anything different with TS4.
32  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: How to update a scripting mod? on: 2015 January 04, 20:43:38
Basically it simply stopped working after a patch, didn't really do anything weird in game, just wouldn't work.  Which patch I can't recall, but was just before ITF came out.  Sounds like I might need to do some more research and reading to be able to have a crack at it.  Give me something to play with for a while.
33  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2015 January 03, 22:17:06
Since the clothing issue with toddlers and children was fixed, I have noticed that the same thing happening with hairstyles.  That is the male and female hairs show up together, but only the appropriate gender hairs are actually selectable.  As there are less hairstyles than clothing, it really isn't that bothersome at the moment, but maybe something to check at some point.
34  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / How to update a scripting mod? on: 2014 December 31, 19:35:23
I was wondering if anyone knew of an easy way to update an outdated scripting mod?  I suspect the mod is just patch outdated, but trying to find information at MTS is like getting blood from a stone.  They just refer to the tutorial for creating a new pure scripting mod, but it has no information about opening and updating an existing mod, any information would be appreciated.

If, by chance, someone here knows how to do this and believes it to be quicker to check themselves, go for it, I am trying to update the MODoor4 mod, Version 4.2.5, http://www.modthesims.info/d/485201

It has been out of date for a few patches and the creator appears to have disappeared and hasn't done anything with it for a while.

When was woohooing anything but boring?

I noticed that when I use AwesomeMod, outerwear that the game generates for all sims in town is weird. It remains the same as everyday wear sometimes it adds gloves. It works fine without AwesomeMod.
I have been using AM since long before Seasons came out, so when I saw that, I just figured it was another EAxis fuck-up, to go along with all the other fuck-ups they left behind.  Given that most of the outfits from everyday also show up under outerwear, I am not surprised they wear the same shit.  I just ignored it.
According to the code, that's how the game normally generates outerwear. A new outfit for any category is generated typically by cloning everyday and removing mismatched parts to replace with a random part. Since Everyday and Outerwear have significant overlap, and the Outerwear specific behavior is "Random Chance of Adding Gloves", this seems to be the natural outcome. What is wrong?

MoonNight seemed to suggest there was a different outcome without AM.  I just ignore how stupid they look, and given that the game doesn't always change them to outerwear when it is really cold, I just accept it as more weird EAxian behaviour and be done with it.  If a sims chosen outerwear really bothers me, I just use editsim and quickly change it.

ETA: Just checked with newest AM and seed problem is fixed.

After playing for a while, I noticed that when planning outfits for toddlers, ALL outfits, that is male AND female, appeared at the same time.  While some people swing that way, I found it really annoying to have while trying to plan an outfit for my male toddler.  I haven't seen it with the adults, I even sent my two adults to plan an outfit and they seemed normal, I don't have anyone in the child or teen stage to check, if I feel motivated and have time, i might switch households to check those age groups.

I just checked, child appears to be showing both male AND female outfits, while the teen category appears to be working correctly.

I can confirm the latest version of AM makes plants/seeds unselectable other than to drag them.  Reverting to the earlier version of AM from Dec 3 they work fine.

Interesting, but I haven't seen that within any of my games.
Are you using the latest available version? It's definitely not a purely EAxian thing, but I can't think of anything I could have done to cause it offhand.

I just fired up the game with the latest AM, didn't have time since installing it to play, and the problem now exists.  I can say that it is new, in my game anyway, with the previous versions of AM I did a lot of building and never saw the problem, after seeing it now I would have noticed it.
40  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2014 December 18, 03:33:44
Interesting, but I haven't seen that within any of my games.  Maybe it is some EAxian bug that doesn't affect everyone, for some bizarre reason, like the one where some plumbots have a birthday and age up in some games, while others don't.
41  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2014 December 17, 02:49:47
Is it intended that with the recent version of AwesomeMod (12/15/14) Buy Mode now shows all possible elements of counters (countertops, corner pieces etc.) as separate entries?
If so, then it doesn't work, each entry will yield a full, regular counter when placed.

Is it possible there is a conflict with something else(maybe custom counters, mods, etc)?  I have never seen corner sections shown as being separate in my game.
42  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: Sims 4 Annoyance & Problem Thread. on: 2014 December 04, 22:00:15
Also, I think the game is worth getting and playing already, as long as someone else goes through all the hassle to getting it. I was originally planning on passing too, but then a friend arrived to my house and told me he had already downloaded the thing, so I went and installed it, and despite the problems it's fun to play. I bet if THIS was TS2 (with TS2 and TS3 not appearing at all), people would be loving it. It's when compared to TS2 and TS3 when it feels so barren and empty, so there are so many things still to do in those other games that going through the hassle of downloading and installing TS4 just for curiosity doesn't feel worth it.

But if one woke up and it was already installed in one's computer ready to launch, what would one lose checking it out?

I have a copy of TS4, but am in no hurry to install it.  While those that installed it, along with Origin, haven't been bitching about any bizarre behaviour from Origin, the responses from others about the game and its limitations, then add that to your bizarre love/hate relationship with the game (you seem to love it, but hate almost every aspect of the game play), it doesn't sound like anything to bother with for the time being.

Maybe if/when EAxis produce a couple of EPs and the FOJ starts fixing shit, it might be worth while giving it a spin.  In the mean time I'll keep exploring TS3 and enjoy the improvements the FOJ is now able to make because there are no more patches to drive him crazy.
43  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: "Really needs to pee" analysis on: 2014 December 04, 21:39:30
Why are you even playing TS4?  All you seem to do is bitch, whinge, whine and moan about anything and everything in the game.  Have you considered abandoning TS4 in favour of TS3 or even TS2?  It is as bad as everyone who played TS3 then bitched and moaned incessantly at every opportunity about how they hated the open neighbourhood concept.
44  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: Sims 4 Annoyance & Problem Thread. on: 2014 December 02, 08:00:44
So basically you're complaining that EAxis has actually made the traits of sims slightly more meaningful this time?
45  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Request Thread on: 2014 December 02, 07:50:52
I would really like an option to increase/decrease salaries in Awesomemod. There is a mod which decreases the salaries, and that is XML-tunable, but it is incompatible with Awesome. Is this a feature that would be possible to incorporate?

Are you sure the mod is incompatible with AM?  Generally XML tuning mods are fine with AM, in which case you could just make your own or modify the one that decreases the salaries into one that increases them.
46  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: The truth about Toddlers and Teens? on: 2014 November 29, 03:46:33
Otherwise, I didn't expect Ghosts to be added in a patch, is it possible that we will get toddlers and/or teens in a patch, or in a [The Sims 4: Life Stages] expansion? I could imagine the developers milking this, as we could have a full range of ages (say, young kid, old kid, young teen... stages - or even, a gradual aging of the sim without clear separation of stages), but also, if they "fixed" that teens just look like adults, it would be like EAxis admitting that it was a mistake from the beginning and that if they had more time they could have made those stages more visually different or added the toddler stage, so I'm skeptical.

I wouldn't mind betting that EAxis did this deliberately to reduce the amount of clothing they had to mesh, not to mention slightly different changes to animations due to the slight height differences.  Just sounds like EAxis being lazier than ever.
47  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Request Thread on: 2014 November 25, 13:58:58
If you do make adjustments to AM in the future, would it be possible to exclude LTW's from being filled when the "fulfill wants without locking" option is enabled?  I had a teen sim max 3 skills, and when the renaissance sim LTW spun up, the game fulfilled it, and when my teen aged to YA and I selected a different LTW, it showed as being fulfilled even though none of the criteria had been met.
48  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: Sims 4 Super Mod foundation already? on: 2014 November 06, 16:57:04
It will be impossible for anyone to patch any arr'ed version for the simple reason that patches (as well as the rest of their products) are located on the cloud of EAxis and that to have an access to this cloud requires to have the game registered on Origin (Origin is just the interface between the cloud and our computers).
Well, now I have confidence in RLD to give us the future patched versions of the game when they will be released.

The only potential drawback to that is having to do a complete reinstall every time a patch comes out.
49  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: Sims 4 Super Mod foundation already? on: 2014 November 04, 23:47:59
The "RELOADED" version that's out now includes the ghosts patch, which indicates that we can get our hands on the patches without Origin somehow, no?

Not really, all that says is that they were probably able to incorporate the patch through Origin and then remove Origin.
50  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: Sims 4 Super Mod foundation already? on: 2014 November 03, 23:35:21
I've seen people on other forums saying "Pescado isn't modding for Sims 4!" so I guess that misconception is spreading, in spite of the clarification.
However, I'm not in quite a hurry to go and get the game this time, what with it still being tainted by shitty Origin and all.
I thought the Arrr'ed version strips it out or disables it or something?

I believe there is still an issue with patching the Arr'ed version without Origin, as I haven't seen anyone releasing or linking to a standalone patch.
