1  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Windows 10 and TS3 crashing on: 2018 June 12, 04:48:05
Sometimes I get a bout of crashing. I run the last patch before Origin in case some files have been corrupted and that seems to help. A reboot before starting the game will usually help too. I play TS3 on Win 7.

I have taken to rebooting everytime before I play, a pain in the arse more than anything else.  A fresh reboot does seem to help for a while.  I'll try running the last patch again, just in case something is screwed up.

Yep, something with the update affected the memory in Win 10.

I only play TS2 and was getting the crashes to the desktop.

Follow the tutorial in this link:-

http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=610641

I did and I've had a few days of no crashes at all.

I had a look at one of the links posted within that link.  Appears to be a known memory bug that has been in windows 10 for a while, and still not fixed yet. when I am more awake to concentrate and follow the instructions, I'll try the fix and see if it helps any.
2  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Windows 10 and TS3 crashing on: 2018 May 29, 20:42:05
I was curious if anyone else was having the same issue or just me.

Since windows 10 did the last major update/upgrade to the April 2018 edition, TS3 has been crashing to desktop a lot more that it ever use to.  It also doesn't say that TS3 has stopped or is shutting down, it just goes straight to desktop.  Before you ask, no it isn't just minimising the game, I have checked.  It usually does it without warning, no freezing, no glitching, just everything humming along nicely, then bang, the desktop.  I am thinking of doing to full, fresh, reinstall with the April 2018 version in case all the update/upgrades on updates/upgrades over time have slowly screwed things up.  I recall always being advised to do full, fresh installs, rather than upgrades to windows.

Just wondering if this is plaguing anyone else out there?

Something i have had from time to time in different games is that most of the non sacred households become homeless.   Not sure why, they have plenty of funds to stay where they were, or move into another property, but they stay homeless.  I have previously just scrapped the game and restarted it, but that is getting tiresome.  It doesn't happen every game, and I havent been able to nail it down to a specific event that triggers it.
4  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: Sooo, Does Anyone Play This Game? on: 2017 April 13, 00:07:29
No. It was bought as a gift for me, and it's very very pretty, but DAMN is it boring. I occasionally play TS3 but fucked up when I bought a disc for IP and now Origin is required, so I removed it all and have to start over (yes yes I will pirate IP like I should have from the start). I have TS2 fired up right now. Still the best one.

What do you mean origin is required?  Mine asks if you want to install it, I just say no, everything works fine without origin.  Unless you have the downloaded version, you don't need to install origin (unless Eaxis did something nuts with newer releases of the disc version).  Origin is one of the reasons I haven't installed TS4.
5  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: What is AM Story mode looking for in a house? on: 2017 April 11, 17:59:42
I had a situation recently where a number of households were moved out of their houses and kept in the homeless pool, rather than being moved into another property.

I don't know if it was an AM issue or something screwed up within that particular game, but started a new game and everything seems to be ok again, for now at least.
6  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2016 December 29, 17:04:53
If you read back far enough you would have read that AM does not support the steam version.
7  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2016 September 21, 01:04:18
The option to disable sim aging as well as the sliders to modify it are all grayed out. All other options in the menu work normally.
Downloaded AM again in case it got messed up, redid the config and left everything on default except the nudity censors, and it's still the same.
Btw my game is patched to 1.67.2.024002, using the Patch Downloader, in case that has anything to do with it.
I'm at a loss as to what else to do, except maybe reinstalling the game and all the expansions (shudder), testing after each install.

Your screen shot is from the main menu screen.  Did you check the options menu in-game?  In-game they work fine for me, and have always been greyed out going into options from the main menu screen.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but...it's my best shot. I'm just wondering if there are any plans to update AwesomeMod for TS3 version 1.69?

The problem with that is 1.69 is not available for everyone, only those using origin.  Those without origin or using the mac version of the game don't have the update/patch, and as the FOJ doesn't use origin, he also doesn't have the update to work with.
9  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2016 March 18, 20:46:16
I have been using the latest version and everything so far seems just fine.  Needs decrease as they should and moodlets count down just fine.  Knock on wood.
10  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesome Mod Incompatibility Message on: 2016 March 18, 14:49:58
They are in the same folder, Sardonic. Does that matter?
Possibly. I've never put them in the same folder before, but putting certain mods in folders of higher priority should cause the game to use those mods over any mods in folders of lower priority, should there be any conflicts.

Not 100% convinced TS3 works that way.  Maybe the FOJ or someone else can confirm if you're right.  Having incompatible mods causing conflicts just seems to cause the game to explode (at least mine would) rather than the game ignoring the conflicting mods because of the folder they are in.
11  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: Sims4 is not gonna happen on here, is it? on: 2016 March 09, 23:57:46
Now that the FOJ is working with TS4, the question is, did he relent and install origin, or use one of the modified non-origin versions?
12  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2016 January 28, 17:12:59
That's what I thought.  Maybe just something really messed up with the sim in question which is why it didn't work.  Might just need to kill them off in some horrible way.
13  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2016 January 27, 21:43:19
Is the "falconpunch" command still included in AM?  I have a sim with a stuck pregnancy, and usually falconpunch solves the problem, but it isn't showing in the list of commands or seems to be working.
14  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Request Thread on: 2016 January 14, 17:15:29
Sorry, Merlin, but no. The AM mod I downloaded from here yesterday before finding out it doesn't work is actually dated 10/2/2015. (Guessing AM WAS updated for 1.69!) I checked the date before installing - not so stupid, you know.  I know this crowd must be sad not to have shown me up...Smiley Also, as I mentioned in my post, I have an old game save with a 2014 AM that is likely the 1.67.
That version of AM works perfectly fine in my game, and many others with no errors or messages.  Just because AM was updated on 10/2/2015 doesn't mean it is automatically updated for 1.69.  As has been said before, game version 1.69 is NOT supported here, therefore why would AM be at 1.69.  The fact that you are getting a message when you load should be enough to tell someone who is "not so stupid" that AM is not at the same level as the game.

Again, my question was whether this was like before when there was a grace period after a patch before AM would no longer run. The answer to that would be a more appropriate use of a reply.
What is this "grace" period you speak of?  Are you referring to the expiry date that forced people to keep updating to ensure they were using the latest version?  There hasn't been an expiry date on AM for fuck knows how long now, just updates to AM when the FOJ finds something new to fix or add to it.

15  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Request Thread on: 2016 January 08, 00:34:08
I've been told I can uninstall/reinstall just the base game (not the EPs/SPs) and then only update through 1.67 to get back to "normal". I'd then have to make certain Origin no longer updates automatically. If I do this, where can I get the 1.67 Awesome mod because I overwrote it without knowing how awful the 1.69 patch is! (BTW, I guess the latest little "fix" that was downloaded 2 days ago also makes the older 1.69 core mods borked - Nraas ErrorTrap isn't working, nor is AM.)

I don't know, maybe as 1.69 is not supported here and probably never will be as it appears to only be available through Origin, and not a stand alone patch, maybe, and this is just a wild guess, the AM download link might just have the latest 1.67 AM?
16  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2015 November 28, 16:39:25
Based on the information in the link supplied in the request thread, it doesn't say anything about fixing, or modifying anything in the actual game, just about adding another next to useless feature to the nasty launcher and suckering more people to Origin (that doesn't mean that EAxis haven't screwed with other shit on the quiet).  I don't know if by simply changing the actual version number would also cause more mods to malfunction, or just mods like AM that rely on the version numbers to match.  But it might explain some of the other borkiness being seen.  Unless you insist that AM is the only mod you use.

I was under the impression that Awesomemod gets updated for new versions. Was I wrong, or would a hypothetically updated Awesomemod simply not solve the issues because Origin sucks?

It does if there is a proper patch release.  As this so-called patch is specific to Origin and no one else, I would surmise that it is very unlikely that AM will be updated for this so-called patch.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: EA removes support server on: 2015 October 20, 15:12:18
Also, EA already announced they are no longer supporting TS2. That's why they gave it away for free.

Don't forget how many they suckered into their Origin trap by doing so, which I suspect was also behind their great giveaway.
18  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2015 August 04, 18:48:09
and the bouncers are all wearing suits. It's like something is causing the uniforms to point to the wrong parts.

Bouncers in suits seems perfect, especially for an upscale venue.
19  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: Sims4 is not gonna happen on here, is it? on: 2015 July 03, 16:15:09
I know others have had issues.  I know it most likely will not have mods here for Sims 4 so I simply put a few places where there are for those that might need it who read this post.  If you guys don't want it here simply remove the post.  I was simply trying to be helpful.

The majority of people who use this site are actually well aware of what sites host mods for TS4, especially given they are generally the same sites that continue to host mods for TS2 and TS3.

After the lies and debacle that was securom with TS2, I don't trust EAxis any further than I can throw them, which isn't far.  The fact that Origin MUST be installed to play makes me question the real intent and purpose of it.
20  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Request Thread on: 2015 July 02, 22:53:19
Next time I am playing and I remember, I'll have a look and see what I can find.
21  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Request Thread on: 2015 June 30, 16:03:44
If the function you request is already available elsewhere, Pes rarely adds it to AM unless he specifically likes or wants that functionality.  Unfortunately, a lot of Nrass mods, as do many others, come loaded with a shitload of options and features that people don't want.

If possible, I would like something that stops the paparazzi from actually entering a private lot unless invited.  I find having them hang around the front door, or gate, or walk around a houseboat uninvited to be a real pain.
22  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: Sims4 is not gonna happen on here, is it? on: 2015 June 26, 01:11:04
Well the Reloaded version doesn't require Origin.
How well does it handle patches and updates?
Kind of, you have to wait for their "homemade" patches to be released.

Sounds like I might be staying with TS3 for a while longer, especially as Pes is still working on it.
23  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Request Thread on: 2015 June 26, 01:09:14
I have used the Nrass traveller and travelled to isla paradisio (or whatever) and returned (also travelled to a couple of the EA vacation worlds) without any major issues, the relationships and panels remain intact, no red boxes of anything.  I just stopped using it due to minor annoyances, mainly that it cancels out the no aging potion and causes the sims to age, and it maintains a sims job when they are travelling, sometimes the sims simply are not required to go to work, other times they are required to go, especially in the future.  Also, get the settings wrong and you don't get any future relations when going into the future.  I also do not use, and have never used the relationship panel mod.

My main reason for wanting to use it was the ability to freeze aging in the vacation worlds, and to allow my sims to do the islands and houseboats thing at different times, but too many minor annoyances for my liking, so I stopped using it.

25  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Converting to a world file on: 2015 March 29, 20:40:01
I tried that, but traveler messed up so many other aspects of the game that I removed it.  I tried using it to freeze aging in the vacation worlds and allow my sim to visit the islands, which worked, but it messed up Oasis Landing, University and sims that had taken the no aging potion, among other hiccups, so I decided I was better without it.

Might just have to find some patience to mess with CAW and see if I can create a world I like and can use.  So far everytime I have messed with CAW I just get so pissed off with it that I give up.
