TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Styling Sculptures | Ambitions

The ones in buydebug look much better so I've been just using those for decoration. For most of the stone statues, they used a white marble texture that looks way better than the ugly dark stone used from the sculpted ones. It would be nice if someone could fix it so sculpted statues could be retextured in CASt, though.

So how many times shall it be said NOT TO SHARE DECRAPPIFIED SIMS3PACKs OVER THE NET?
Is there actually a very good reason for that? Sorry for my idiocy, but could I actually get in trouble for linking people to that? Here's the quote from Pescado himself: EXPERIMENTAL "DECRAPIFY" OPTION! Invoke with "s3rc -fD" (fixonly, decrapify) OR "decrapify" (drag/drop FOR TARDS). Should fix all busted s3packs that don't install correctly in the launcher, like those old TSR ones. Caveats: 1. Permanently and irreversibly alters the target package/s3pack. Due to the type of damage involved, the game will see the decrapified object as a seperate object from a non-decrapified object. Any saved game that used these objects or skins will be broken as a result, but... 2. If you decrapify objects, you must decrapify all of your SAVED GAMES (.nhd & .packages in your .sims3), PRESETS (userPresets.package), and LIBRARY. 3. DECRAPIFIED saved or exported items containing CRAPIFIED content will malfunction in a non-decrapified install. 4. THIS PROCEDURE IS EXPERIMENTAL! 5. decrapify exe requires s3rc exe to be accessible on path.
THEREFORE: Do not share decrapified packages, only share original unmodified packages.
I'm sure he had a reason to say that. And it's in red, so it's probably important. So that's where the "Do not share decrapified files" thing comes from.

If you are only installing Barnacle Bay, then you do not need to decrapify your saves, library and saved sims or userpresets.package . You only need to do this is you are changing from un-decrapified store stuff to decrapified store stuff as this fixes the missing object/clothes/hair problems. I will update my tutorial to make this more clear to people.
Thanks. I kind of was thinking that was the case, but I just wanted to make sure before I messed something up.

I just have a quick question. Normally I just install store cc as .packages so I've never messed with decrapify before, but since I want Barnacle Bay to show up properly, I'm planning to do it for just that one file. I did some searching and found instructions on how to decrapify, but I'm curious about the part where it says to decrapify the save files, presets, etc. and I'm wondering if it's necessary in my case? It wasn't mentioned in all the tutorials I found, and when it was, it wasn't explained very clearly why you had to do it or if you had to in all cases. I don't have any other store cc that's not in .package form and I don't plan on installing anything other than neighborhoods in Sims3Pack form in the future.

no time restriction (Fileserve).
Fileserve has a 10 mninute wait between downloads. I got mine from there. While there is a 10 minute time restriction, it wasn't a problem for me since each part (except part 7) took at least 10 minutes to finish so I was able to immediately start the next part once one finished. So apparently it starts counting from when you click the download button and not when it finishes like some file hosting sites do.

There's a new update out. I'm waiting to install it, though. Here's what it says it includes:
New Features
· Sims that drive extensively can now develop a relationship with their vehicles. Vehicles can be named once a friendship is formed.
· The Vehicle Enthusiast Trait is now available. Sims with this trait can name their vehicles immediately and develop relationships with them more quickly.
Base Game Updates
· Fixed an issue where ghosts could become stuck in vehicles under certain conditions. Ghosts will now properly exit vehicles after arriving at their destination.
· Nameable items can only be named when they belong to the active household.
World Adventures Updates
· Career titles for Sims visiting Egypt, France and China will now display in the Relationship Panel tooltips.
The Sims 3 Create a World
· Create a World users need to install a new version of The Sims 3 Create a World Tool. Users can find the Create a World page from the "Games" drop down in the site header.

Little behind the times, Erry. Check the page right before this one.
Oh snap, well I'll be sure to check all pages the next time the update comes up. Looking back one page is hardly checking all the pages. About the birthday items, I decided to check on the official forums since I want the bear and the flowers, and according to a moderator, they know about the download error and it's just caused because it's not officially ready to be downloaded yet. I found the pics of the new bonuses for buying SimPoints. Star Gazer Everyone's A Critic Button-up Buckaroo I don't really like the shirt, but the other things are ok. They seem to go with the movie items from Dr. Pepper.

This just happened to me the other night when I last played. I thought it was my speakers or my sound card, so I saved and quit the game and opened up MediaMonkey. My music played fine, so I just figured it was another random game bug and I forgot about it until I saw this thread. I haven't played since then so I don't know if it will work again or not. I'm kind of suspecting my neighborhood is messed up because I've had other problems so I may just start over.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Stuck in buy/build mode?
|

I don't think that it's caused by cc. I just tried it again, and all I did was change the wallpaper (I don't have any custom walls) and when I tried to go back to live mode, it got stuck again. This same problem also happened with the Racket house a week or so before it happened with the Wolfe house. I didn't like the Racket house as much, so I decided to bulldoze their house and rebuild from scratch so I moved them out temporarily and bulldozed and rebuilt before moving them back in. After that, I could go back into build & buy all I wanted. I guess I'll just go and bulldoze the Wolfe house too. I don't want to since I actually like that house, but I guess I don't have a choice. I was able to build just fine and go through all the categories (that's usually how I decorate by going through one category at a time) when redecorating the other houses I've done, so I'm guessing some of the houses just randomly get buggy.

I ran into this problem last time I played the game. I'll have to try making a new save and see if it works.
EDIT: Well, I went and made a new save file and it seemed to work. I was able to change a few things, go back to live mode and it seemed ok, so I went back into build mode, changed a lot more things, (I think I spent 30 minutes in build mode) and when I tried to change back this time, it got stuck again. I was mostly just changing wall paper and floors and recoloring windows. I don't know what else to try, now.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Merging mods to increase Performance!

What about decrapifying? When should I need to decrapify the stuffs? Do I need to do it after repackaging them?
EDIT: What is the number of about 200 Mb packages I can have before my game started to lag?
Right now I have over 100 .packages in my game. While most are merged, there are several that aren't (like my mods) and the ones that are merged, I do by category, so that's the reason for the large number of merged packages. But my game doesn't lag with them all in there. It loads up to the save game select screen in less than a minute and the game all runs really smooth with no lag and everything loads fast. I don't know about decrapifying stuff since I never bother with any of that. I don't touch Sims3Pack files, unless I'm extracting them to .package, so there's never been any need for it.
