26  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Fears and Wants that don't trigger on: 2008 April 16, 23:19:01
An annoyance I noticed in my game: my fortune sims roll the want "buy rug costing 3500". Problem is, the most expensive rug in my game (all EPs up to seasons) is about 1k (?) so it's impossible to fulfill. Ever.  Roll Eyes
27  Awesomeware / Playsets & Toys / Re: Salvaged Stories Crap on: 2008 April 02, 21:33:41
Slight glitch I noticed with some of the beds, might just be a corrupted file on my end though. There is some red flashing in between the sheets and the mattress, like there is some missing texture or something like that. Happens only on the double beds. The single bed are fine.

29  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: FT no CD-Crack on: 2008 February 29, 13:22:07
Just wondering if this is just me, but a while back I got a crack from gamecopyworld for Seasons. Everything worked fine, but then I gotms with disappearing motives. The bars would still be there, but not the text indicating which motive it was. Took the crack out, everything back to normal.
Similar thing happened when I cracked Uni, kid's grades wouldn't go up anymore.

Am I missing something here? Am I supposed to do anything other than just replacing the original exe with the crack?
30  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Neighbourhood screen flashing to black on: 2008 January 11, 10:36:15
I'm sticking to my story, it's too many trees.
Of course, the trees could merely be a symptom, with an overworked card as the cause. I used to have this problem quite often, until I stopped using certain terrains, and only used those with no decorations whatsoever on them. It seems to have done the trick, I can have as many lots as I want to, and never get the flashing thing.
Recently I did get some flashing when I tried to add Maxis' original Downtown and Bluewater Village to a hood, I fixed it by using terrain surgery on them. So it's definitely something to do with decorations or trees, since after surgery I had the same lots but nothing else and my subhoods ran fine.

Oh and do we have edible St Nicks or is it confused with hollow chocolate bunnies
http://thumbs2.modthesims2.com/images4/MTS2_156936_Lethe_s_sinterklaas.jpg

To be fair, Sinterklaas candy really often does look badly textured

although Lethe_S does take it to a new level.
32  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Some questions about earning money on: 2007 December 01, 11:50:47
Selling produce does count towards 'earned' money, the others, dunno. I use Squinge's date/wealth/friends/fights counter thingy to check whether or not the income counts.

Btw, my sims do not seem to 'earn' money from selling novels anymore, I wonder if it's got something to do with Pes' noplagiarism hack.

33  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sub-neighborhoods on: 2007 August 29, 23:39:54
With the lots after a terrain change, you have to put them in the bin and then place them again. This fixes the terrain, and is very annoying. Very very annoying as when I move a family out and then put the lot in a bin, I lose all objects in the house.

No need to place them in the bin, you can just pick 'em up and place on a different spot, that'll fix the terrain too.
34  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Poll: Stealth Stairs on: 2007 August 03, 21:49:53
Have you guys seen this...it looks pretty awesome. It's a remake of Targa's stairs, I think, with proper animations. I would use these because I like when it looks real. The new animation makes it drool worthy! http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=241795

Unfortunately, these ladders aren't sim/fool-proof. I had two sims who managed to get completely stuck by trying to use the ladders simultaneously. One was up, the other downstairs. Both were complaining that the object was already in use, and both kept waiting until the other had finished using it ><.
I have now reverted back to Targa's, no spiffy animations but no traffic jams either.

ETA; causes a problem with ACR too. Couple decided to have some woohoo, female reaches ladder first, male throws hissyfit about object in use, drops auto woohoo from cue. -_-'
35  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Microclimates in Uni? on: 2007 July 17, 15:11:54
Had this happen once in my game as well. Freshly dug pond didn't freeze over, despite snow being on the lot. However, some 12 sim hours or so the problem corrected itself, much to my dismay, since I liked my sims being able to fish in winter.

I've found seasons to be particularly useful for my game play. I used to rotate my families on a weekly basis, but it was a bit on the long side. Now I just rotate them once every season, 5 days is the right amount of time for me. Plus I can tell from the neighbourhood screen how far each family has progresses (season icon next to family name).
36  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Modest/Religious clothing for female sims? on: 2007 July 17, 09:45:08
I am going to change theme every couple of generations, going from medieval, Tudor, Renassiance, Victorian (I'll have to research the correct order lol)

To complicate things a bit further; Renaissance - Tudor - Restoration - Georgian - Regency - Victorian.

37  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Maternity Clothes on: 2007 July 17, 09:21:24
Can't say this worked for me either. Downloaded all meshes, went in game to test it on a few of my pregnant sims; nothing. Thanks to Squinge's hack  I was able to pick everyday wear for my sims, but none of them showed a belly. Neither was the maxis maternity wear altered like the creator claimed to have done.

I must admit though that I've been having a lot of non-working hacks lately, things that used to work perfectly before. For instance, the bring a friend dialog from TJ, used to work, now my game just handles it in the old maxis way. Probably some major hack conflict between multiple hacks, but I can't be arsed to go and find out which ones.
38  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Maternity Clothes on: 2007 July 12, 23:30:57
I'm going to give this mod a try. I run a game with practically no CC, so anything that will give me a wider variety of maternity clothing is welcome. I have been using squinge's hack for ages, no problems ever.
Like Zazazu my sims will still be wearing maxis maternity clothes when in the family preview screen, but when visiting they're wearing the right outfit, not sure why this is different in my game.
39  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: MATY HOOD CONTEST on: 2007 July 12, 11:14:32
Zazazu is right with here second attempt. It's made of two 4x1 rooms with a 12x1 room on top, and then lowered to form the archway. Whilst on the lot it looks really nice, but from neighbourhood view the game shows horizontal floor tiles instead of curving ones, making it look like some kind of retarded staircase.

@ Zazazu, the awnings where supposed to represent the market stalls, I just hadn't placed anything underneath yet. Normally I make stalls by using a 15 degree roof, but I didn't want all 4 stalls + the building to have to some colour roof. Note that this lot is only half-finished, more 'green' was also going to be added in the form of scattered flower boxes.
40  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: MATY HOOD CONTEST on: 2007 July 11, 11:53:09
Instead of creating a whole hood, wouldn't it be a much better contest if everybody just picked 1 or 2 lots to build? Combine those into one hood and you'd have a true maty-build community, without having to spend oodles of time on it. Yes, the 'challenge' part of it would be gone, but I suppose the focus could be on the end result. It would definitely interesting to see a combination of different styles.

ETA: I'll give it a go and try and build community lot B, the market place. That is a 3x3 lot isn't it?

ETA2: FAIL! I got about this far with my lot, 'till I realised that I wasn't really going anywhere, the lay-out of the building sucked, and that it was just generally non-awesome.

Notice the brown line stretched from one end of the lot to the other. That's what happends with my video card when I place too much fencing.
41  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Fitness Surprise on: 2007 July 03, 14:15:44
My self sim should be fat with a fitness flag.  I'm well padded, but I'm in good shape; I can outrun many skinny people.

Heh, exact opposite here. I'm all bones, no fat, no muscles.
42  TS2: Burnination / Building Contest of Awesomeness / Re: Twooflower's Sucky Entry '07 on: 2007 July 01, 10:59:57
My guess is the constrainfloorelevation cheat. The first landing is actually a 2x2 room lowered to be four 'clicks' high. If you look closely in the screenshots you can see the walls slope very steeply towards the landing, from 16 to 4 clicks. That's probably also why twooflower used that particular wallpaper, the vertical lines cover up the sloping walls very nicely. Horizontal lines would only emphasize it. I often use the same technique when connecting a garage to an house with a basement.

Disclaimer: my google spellchecker does not work at the moment so text above may not be mistake-free.

XD Awesome!

Nice house too, btw, it looks cosy yet functional.
44  TS2: Burnination / Building Contest of Awesomeness / Re: I Can Haz Crappy AwesomeSpecsHaus2.0! on: 2007 June 22, 17:01:55
Nice entry, ('cept for the roof maybe  Tongue), but.....
     - AwesomeHaus is not cheap. Really not. No, seriously. On the plus side, it costs about what a real house in my area costs in US dollars. (Oy!)

Are you serious? 300k For a house that enormous?! For that amount of money you might just get a 3 bedroom semi-detached in Holland. Or were you speaking of 'real houses' in general?
45  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Probably the work of a non-awesome, but you never know. on: 2007 June 09, 11:10:58
I guess I should have described the situation a bit more, although errors popped up everywhere, regardless of what was happening.
This particular one took place on a business lot, Lillie is the owner, Laurence was browsing the goods. I directed her to go do sales/..practice on, which produced this error.
I have many hacks relating to attraction and business', all from either the awesome ones, or from peasantry.  I'm sure I have all updated versions, but I'll re-download them just to be thorough.
What may be the culprit is that I did delete some sims from the neighbourhood before playing, using the proper method though. This is my sisters 'hood, and she had attached 2 uni's, because uni #1 started flashing black/blue (unrelated problem, my graphics card can't handle too many trees). Somehow this spawned to identical sets of dormies, and I deleted one of them. But I don't see how this should have affected Lillie, she never met any of the dormies, I am a 100% sure of that.
46  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Probably the work of a non-awesome, but you never know. on: 2007 June 08, 18:17:45
Since my last playing session I don't recall downloading anything, however, my game keeps mass-producing error logs. Since the word attraction was mentioned by the pop-up I tried nuking all attraction markers with the lot debugger. No dice.

Error log attached, if needed, i can provide a conflict report.

Edited for dumfuckiness, sorry Ste  Embarrassed

47  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Jun "More Awful Than You": Stupidass Houses! on: 2007 June 01, 13:53:36
I don't really see anything wrong with house no. 1. Yeah it's small, but I've had sims living in even smaller houses. I regularly use 10x10 lots which leave you about 6x7 blocks of indoor space, but with 3 floors they still fit a family of four.
The lay-out could have been a bit better. With a bit of shifting I'm sure it would have allowed a 3rd bedroom. Besides the fact that I thoroughly dislike modern cube houses, I don't think it is that bad.
48  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: He Lives In a Pineapple Under the Sea... on: 2007 May 26, 16:35:08
This nice water 'feature' gave me a reason to actually use one of those godawful mascots suits from OFB. My local neighbourhood weirdo lives in his underwater basement house quite happily with his old school diver outfit on.  Tongue
49  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Point me to teen lifetime adjustment hack? on: 2007 May 25, 15:33:12
TwoJeff's age duration hack has custom durations for adult and elder, you could always change teen duration.

I tried that actually. All I did was change 15 to 12. However this caused my game to crash after loading any lot. So either I did something totally wrong, or this hack just can't be messed with.
50  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Awesomeland: Should Awesomeland Be Reloaded? on: 2007 May 19, 12:32:24
I vote for burnination, eventhough my selfsim probably won't make it into the new Awesomeland.
*crosses fingers anyway*
