101  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Request: Influence/Do my homework on: 2006 October 20, 21:17:19
It would also be nice to be able to influence those idiot townie-teens to do my sims' homework. It would give them some use.

If babies can chat on the computer and phone why can't pets?

Wow, I'm a bit overwhelmed. This would probably require even more note-taking than the apocalypse challenge  Shocked

Delete the sim and use tombstone of LnD to 'get family member'

I've had this many, many times. It seems to occur when I delete the rose bouquet when my sims are in the endless cycle of putting it down. They jump, and are unable to interact.
105  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Uni questions, and playing advice on: 2006 October 10, 18:31:55
That's weird -- there's always at least a cheap bed in every room. You could go into buy mode and check before moving the new sim in (or build mode if the dorm is empty), since hidden rooms are no longer hidden in buy and build mode.

Or sim A was being an asshole and sold all the stuff that was in the dormie rooms, and now sim B pays the price.  Cheesy

107  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Pinstar's new Apocalypse challenge on: 2006 September 24, 12:19:07
Sending a Mad Scientist to work with a satellite in his inventory will unlock the alien technology restriction, so you won't have to get your sim abducted, which is a huge gamble.
108  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Custom skins and townie generation on: 2006 September 22, 13:03:59

The only problem is that you are no ;onger able to select the "decustomized" skin in CAS as they do not appear in the custom skin and you can only select the four maxis colors apart of the custom ones.

Just a guess, turn on debug mode, and see if your skins show up.

Do you mean banners? I don't believe there are any.
110  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Pinstar's new Apocalypse challenge on: 2006 September 16, 13:24:49
Sounds good to me. Snapdragons make this challenge a LOT easier, and the whole point is to make this as difficult as possible.
111  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: OFB windows no longer let light in. on: 2006 September 15, 08:28:05
In my case it's because I don't have a graphics card, my crappy computer uses Intel integrated graphics instead.  I'm definitely no expert on graphics cards, but I'm wondering if it's possible that OFB requires a slightly better graphics card (and/or driver) than you have to get light through the windows.

Mmm, but that doesn't explain why my older windows do let in light. If OFB upped the requirements for letting in light, than all of my windows should be borked.
112  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: OFB windows no longer let light in. on: 2006 September 15, 08:21:45
My OFB windows do this as well. I generally only use those old-fashioned ones, with the diamond shaped little pieces of glass, they don't let in any light either. To keep my houses from being completely dark I've started to use them only for show on the street side of my houses, and put base-game windows on the other walls.
I reckon it's caused by Maxis, since I didn't have any kind of lightning mod when I started noticing this problem. It's just weid they haven't fixed this with the patch.

Back here we have free stickers that you can stick on your mailbox. Yes/Yes for people wo want all the crap they can get, Yes/No for people who don't want flyers and crap but do want the local papers, and No/No for people who only want stuff with their specific adress on it.
115  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Fed up of naked babies can any body help? on: 2006 September 01, 09:08:21
That mesh is actually mine, I've never heard of it stopping working like that, I've been using it since I first made it back before Uni was released.

I don't know if or how the sim modder has broken it like that, nor do I have any ideas how to fix it, I'll have a look into it and see if I can recreate the problem is my test game and try and find a solution from there.

Please do, I'm really getting fed up with my retarded looking infants.
116  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Starbucks with your Sims? on: 2006 August 31, 21:15:15
I personally wouldn't be to happy about advertisement in the Sims. My hoods are my little dream worlds and the less it looks like RL the better. I really like that everything is 'simized' in the game, like the custom alphabet, and all the logos. Really don't know how to express this, it's just, meh, not my cup of tea.
117  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Fed up of naked babies can any body help? on: 2006 August 31, 21:11:56
It happends to all babies, removing/redownloading doesn't work. I guess I broke it somehow by spawning that damned sim modder.
118  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Take a look! on: 2006 August 31, 21:10:06
Heck, there were traces of FFS stuff in OFB after all.

Really? What?

well, occasionally my 'mission' beds would turn this blue-ish colour that I later learned is the colour of those castle beds from FFS, as if the texture was hidden somewhere in OFB. Plus people (Numenor etc.) have extracted thumbnails of all FFS items from OFB.
119  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Take a look! on: 2006 August 31, 20:44:28
Yuck, that's so tacky. Tongue I'm definitly not missing out on this one.

There's a set of baby clothing over on mts2: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=157757.  They're not genetic, but they do work, and replace the default diaper with a full-body jumper.  I use them in my game, and they work fine.  Worth a look if all you want to do is get rid of the diapers.

I seem to be having a problem with those jumpers though. Instead of displaying the mesh that comes with that download, in my game the diaper shape still showes up, with the jumper painted on it. At first it did display properly, it seems that my problem started after I had used debug mode to spawn the sim modder. That modder diplays as a regular baby in diaper, so could it be that this has somehow reset my game to the maxis mesh?
121  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: sky projector on: 2006 August 31, 13:14:06
The only drawback for me is that you have to turn your neighbourhood view all the way up to extra large. My computer will simply explode if I'd try to do that. Pity, it looks fabulous.
122  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Playing with the Oldies on: 2006 August 27, 16:33:09
Move them in with the Pleasants to traumatize Lilith even further by letting them die of old age.
Hey ehy now, I like Lilith.  I think I'm going to leave the old folks in the family bin.  I'm playing enough famlies right now.

Or you could put them in a house, turn the game speed to turbo and go and do something else. It shouldn't take too long for them to die, and that way their family tree won't look too wonky (Imagine, if Lilith and Angela had grandkids, Marie-Sue and Daniel both dead, but the Oldies still alive. That would be rather weird)
123  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: The Clear Default Eyes on: 2006 August 27, 16:28:00
Well you could just copy some Maxis eyes, paste them on Louis' skins, and save them (using SimPE). That should make your Sims 'fall back' to that particular Maxis eye colour. However, if you want different colours, you'd still need to give them contacts.
124  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: The Clear Default Eyes on: 2006 August 27, 11:39:40
You would'n happen to have Louis' skins as your default, would you? They have clear eyes painted on them, maybe that's what your getting. My advice, download some contacts and give them some normal eyes manually.

Do what I do; flip the fridge towards the wall. Works like a charm, even with nannies. (Just don't forget to unflip it every now and then  Tongue)
