26  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Legacy Challenge for TS3 on: 2009 June 28, 14:39:04
You must start in a fresh unplayed file and with a brand new Sim. All random traits must be chosen from the start of legacy /w the exception of 2nd generation onward may carry one 1 of the founder's traits as a family trait. You may choose to deleteallhumans if you like.
IMPORTANT.
As a mass money tree farmer in a non-legacy game, this is certainly broken. While I have yet to start a Legacy game, not mandating a fresh game means a previous money tree garden in the neighbour's house can be raped for money instantly. An array of 100 perfect money trees can be harvested in less than a day and net approximately 100K. Money tree's money output completely dominates whatever gardening normal plants can generate (barring perfect deathfish-duplicating omni plants).
"Your founder, and only your founder, cannot marry a rich sim. All future generations may marry any sim, rich or otherwise.

Money Legacy points capped at 20 total (2 million in net worth)
+1. This is very important as aforementioned money exploits can result in massive ballooning of money. As the ingame description for money tree states, inflation really occurs, and quickly for that. Capping it solves it pretty much. Over 10 generations it is possible to (with obtaining of more unknown special seeds daily) to get arrays of money trees relatively easily.

One of my sims who is a green thumb and has the super green thumb, but it not level 10 (he's like, 7, I think), also seems to be able to revive death plants over and over. I haven't tried after the fourth time, though, since I have no use for all these death flowers. Everyone in the fambly has two at least. So I let the plant die and tossed it.
Direct contradiction to ingame XML. Ingame XML, as well as empirical testing, show clearly 2 harvests before barren, so there is NO possibility you could revive the same death plant four times.
I thought that using the sprinklers added to the household bills.
Apparently they do, and so do the spotlights. Bills jumped from ~1k to ~3k after I started leaving the 10 sprinklers for the massive farm on auto-water and 4 spotlights permanantly on.
Does anyone know of an existing Flame Fruit plant in Riverview?  My poor Sim has had a wish to grow one for about 3 Sim weeks, but I can't seem to find one, and I'm not getting lucky with the seeds.
Just find Unknown Special Seeds and plant them, you have a 1/4 chance of getting a flame fruit bush. In a good night with the Finder one can find up to 12 special seeds.

As for the death flower, I've had death flower seeds periodically be fished up.

Death flower has 1/4 chance of appearing in any Unknown Special Seed. So losing it is not even remotely a great deal. Just get level 7 gardening and plant a few of these.

Overheating does not immediately cause shutdown. It first causes artifacts to appear, then intermittent freezing, then shutdown. Yours looks like the artifacts.
Also, you can try getting Speedfan to monitor the temperatures of your card. It should not exceed 80C when TS3 is running. Also, more RAM is recommended, a stick of 2GB only costs about 20+ USD now.

Running a fambly of 3 sims, all with 10 gardening for ages, all having about 3k harvests each. As of now after 10+ weeks of ingame time, only 2 of them have completed the 3 opportunities, and the last one is still waiting for the omniplant one.
Rough chronology:
Created original fambly with 2 sims
Sim 1 got 10 gardening, planted perfect garden, Sim 2 came in, harvested everything for 3 days and got 10 gardening.
After about 3 weeks of ingame time, both sims got the cheeseplant opportunity within 1 day of each other
Added CAS Sim 3 into the fambly for procreation as premade townies are fuggly, reached 10 gardening using same method as Sim 2. Obtained the cheeseplant opportunity almost immediately (i.e. within 3 days of addition)
Nothing for about 2 weeks, then all 3 sims got the steakplant opportunity within 2 days of each other, in order sim 1,2,3.
Another lull of about 1 week, Sim 1 obtained the Omni Plant opportunity. One week later, Sim 3 obtained Omni Plant as well.
It appears to be completely random, though there may be certain "times" when gardening opportunities are given out.

Does attempting to open the fridge and manually moving them to the Sim's inventory work?
