I obviously do know how to search because I dug up this thread.  That shows I certainly did search for an answer.  If you have done some searching and have found an answer then your reply could have been constructive if you were able to point me in the correct direction.

And as for your grammar, it's pretty ridiculous to point out flaws in the way I type, when you yourself cannot post a sentence without sounding retarded.

Just because you dig up an old thread does not make you very special at all. Heck you didn't even have to use this site to find your answer. Google would've helped you out. Just because you're new you do not get any special treatments. You have to do the job yourself. We are not a "nice" sim site like others seem to be. This is a whole new territory. Maybe you'll enjoy flailing your arms about in Retardo Land?

no, this place IS a nice sim site, as long as you're not a douche or lack common sense.  You sir, are being a douche!  You do not wish to help this person, but troll their thread instead.  It's one thing to help someone out and make fun of them afterwards(but still being helpful in the process), but to just say this place is jerk-land by justifying your trolling makes you completely useless and paints this awesome community as unhelpful assholes, which they are not!
28  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TS3 was to include weather. on: 2009 September 18, 03:37:32
You people have forgotten SIMs 2 base game so quickly.  Majority of the EPs were already in base game it is the expansions which activate them.  With Wanton which JB found would be used for a Nightlife Expansion.  Weather Season Expansion.  Adventure Bon Voyage.  Found Pets for a Pet Expansion.  SIMs makes expansions because they do not want a base game running  $150.  Clothes and Objects only Packs are last minute additions which are not planned out.  And, there maybe a SIMs 4 around the corner if Expansions are a failure.

lol, not planned out?  That's why they announced content to be released at their store BEFORE the base game came out.  And now they're doing it again with the expansion, announcing a lovely linup of new shiny premium priced furniture to go along with the release of World Adventures instead of including it with the expansion.  Last minute additions my butt, they're doing this on purpose.

it's not like everyone expected Sims 3 to include ALL the expansions.  Dating/nightlife, apartments, weather...those make since for Sims3.  A diving board freakin' makes sense.  Hot tubs?  Pinball machines? A violin to play at symphony's? Piano's?  I could keep going...so could many of us.

So much content that was gimped from Sims 1 and Sims 2.  It's like nails on a chalkboard hearing "It's just a base game" from the community when sequels aren't supposed to just be more of the same and wait for expansions to get what we've had before.  Name one franchise that asks customers to pay multiple times for things they've had in previous games?  We're not asking for all expansions in one, we're asking for a complete game where the features we've had prior make sense to have from the get-go.   Pool items, band equipment, places to go dating and group hangouts, clothing stores...they should of said "What do we need in a life simulator with a whole living town?"  and no one seemed to ask that question.  Instead it was a list where they threw darts at and that's what got done, leaving a lot of content on the cutting room floor.

Sims 3 was a copy/paste rush job to please EA's suits and shareholders, nothing more.  It's sims 2 slapped in an open hood with a fresh new coat of paint. I feel sorry for the Sims team because I'm sure most of them really want to make a great game for us but are tied down by EA.
29  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Crash on save on: 2009 September 06, 23:08:17
an interesting observation; autosave doesn't crash my game when it's running in window mode, but only in fullscreen.  The last two nights I tested this leaving the game on, one night with full screen, the other in window.  No crashing with window mode, full screen crashed by its third save.

weird!
30  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Crash on save on: 2009 September 06, 06:54:26
are you using the autosave feature in the AM config?  Ever since I started using it, crashing would typically happen around the third autosave.  It has never crashed when I manually save, only when autosave kicks in.

I'm also experiencing a large dose of cheating sims. Large as in everyone who's married is cheating on their spouse with everyone else who's married as well as with available singles.
Neighborhoods with legacy retained romantic relationships may continue this behavior. You have to sorta start a fresh neighborhood to clear that, or wait until I add a command to globally clean out old loves. This behavior is sorta similar to how it was in TS2, where any romantic relationships are retained basically forever: Although it's easier for a player to manually terminate than before, NPCs didn't and thus were continuing to act on them. Newer versions automatically sever them, but old legacy neighborhoods will still have them.

I started my hood fresh with randomly spawned sims in 12 homes, and 85% of them were romantically linked in massive love triangles and octagons in just a matter of a week Tongue  Out of the 20 sims in my neighborhood now, only 4 of them aren't linked through the baby mama filled family tree, lol.

dropoldloves wiped away a lot of old flings but is there a way to integrate this into the story mode so it wipes old flings automatically?  It seems to be on an individual sim basis and that's a lot of sims to go through oO

34  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TS3 was to include weather. on: 2009 September 04, 05:52:08
They're in it for the money and they'll get every cent they can. If anyone ever thought they were in it for the game or the players, they need their heads checked. Get real. If they cared about the game or the players, they would be listening to all the forums on all the sites and none of the mods would even be necessary.
I've read arguments like this like a bazillion times in the last couple of months, and to me this still doesn't make any sense at all. It's just twisted. Before I can even think about leeching my customers tomorrow, I have to satisfy them today, and that means I have to care about their wants, a lot. A product has to be convincing on its own, future accessories aren't a factor for the original product's quality.

EAxis care about their customers, I really believe they do. There's only one setback: Most of the customers are sheeples, and they don't mind getting fucked by EAxis over and over again, they might not even notice. Even if they consider a feature uncomplete/unconvincing/borked/whatever they still cling to their hope EAxis would fix/improve it in the future, i.e. with the next EP, despite years of contrary experience.

no, what you really have is almost a bureaucracy at EA, where the Sims team REALLY cares about their customers but are cock blocked by those in the higher ups(can I say "cock blocked"?). But you have these higher up suits at EA that want to make sure their pockets and share holders are pleased.  So they make strict guidelines for the Sims team(and the rest of their devisions making games) to finish by, to rush the product out, so you end up getting a lot of stuff left on the cutting room floor.  Spend 4 months spending millions on marketing to get their profits looking good for the year, while it takes just days for Pescado to fix their shit and...well, hello?  Money is being spent in all the wrong areas.  Add to this, the fact that the millions EA is making off Sims 3 isn't all going into Sims 3, but to the suits, and to all the devisions at EA.

Now imagine if Maxis were still its own company that doesn't have to listen to a big cooperation, where they can lay out the time and what they want in a game.  THAT is the company that is completely gone and/or too busy listening to higher ups of a billion dollar company.  That is a company that was led by someone like Pescado, and who are tragically lost in most of our gaming industry today.  The suits ruin everything.

35  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TS3 was to include weather. on: 2009 September 01, 20:17:19
I remember watching the video of Sims 2 before it came out, showcasing rain.  They had a couple in a hot tub, it started raining and while the sims were getting out from the rain, lighting struct the dude.  It was pretty exciting to see, and then forgotten.  I assume the filter they used for Seasons was their quick cheap way of stopping it from entering the house.  Amazingly pathetic that this many years later, with the second sequel, we still don't have at least rain and thunder storms.

I'm just hoping for nice effects...fog/steam, rain running off the roofs, shiny roads after it rains(I think it's so pretty in a city after it rains at night and everything is softly reflected on the roads), high winds blowing palm trees nearly 90 degrees.  I want to see the weather when I'm inside the house.  Kiss
36  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TS3 was to include weather. on: 2009 August 31, 23:20:41
I disliked the weather in Sims 2, it felt very fake.  Didn't like that it was just a filter over your screen so you couldn't actually see it rain or snow when you were inside homes.  I'd be completely disheartened if they do this effect again.    I've seen rain/snow effects in Team Fortress 2 that had no problem with ground patters and knowing when there is a roof.  And how old is the source engine?  EA...I swear...if you take the cheap route again...*shakes fist*
37  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesome Story Driver Beta-Testing reports on: 2009 August 13, 18:30:02
Is it possible to get updates on what's going on around town that isn't through the newspaper?  I never get any updates when reading it.  I noticed in the config you can enable story progression notifications, but from what I remember enacting it a few weeks back, it was a popup checkbox.  I was thinking more along the lines of updates like ISM on the right side of the screen.

My observations; a gay couple moved into my neighborhood.  Wasn't sure if EA or AM had included a chance of this occurring, guess so! One family had twins with only one crib.  There seems to be a contagious urge to tour the town hall or science facility with someone.  I think they should now correctly be labeled "cruising spots" which brings me to...

my sims have become massive whores which is amusing but kind of odd.  I wouldn't expect unflirty sims to be so willing to hook up with someone.  Same with those that are hopeless romantics.  I typically think of a HR as someone who's very monogamous.  Because of all this whoring, my sims are starting to clash big time with one another.  It has become one giant soap opera with octagonal love triangles.  Which again, amusing and loving it, but odd...it wouldn't be so bad if a sim in one room didn't know that in the other room his/her wife was makin' out with the gardener, but somehow these sims have xray vision.  Any way to fix that?  I wouldn't mind the whoring if they couldn't magically see into the next room.

it is quite hilarious finding out about new affairs when you throw a big party and so many -'s pop up reacting to romantic interactions.
38  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New EP & still no Hood Editor! on: 2009 August 12, 09:13:51
Also, I remember a tool for SC4 or Sims2 (I think it was SC4) that would do terrain editing out of the game, created by the community. It wasn't pretty, but it got the job done.

The SC4 Terraformer. Wonderful thing, because it made it simple to terraform an entire map at once, rather than having to do it town-by-town and then deal with reconciling the edges.

EA probably figures that if they don't provide a 'hood editor, they can use "includes a new neighborhood!" as a selling point for each EP. That would be typical of EA, right? Attempting to get us excited about paying for things that should have been included in our original purchase.

and World Adventures comes with THREE brand spankin' new neighborhoods! WOOH!  They're breaking ground here folks.
39  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Long pauses on: 2009 August 12, 09:10:37
I wasn't suggesting teleporting MY sims to work.  I was suggesting that the game teleport all the TOWNIES to work.  I'm quite happy with my sims taking the carpool or bus to work.  I just wonder if it wouldn't be less laggy if the townies took a shortcut.  I rarely follow townies from home to work, so it wouldn't be no big loss and it would keep them off the roads in the morning.
You mean like if they were, oh, say, in your carpool?

Oh please implement that.  Having 4 carpools for 4 employees in the same career is not the point of a carpool Tongue  It would be really nice if when the car comes to pick up your sim, the others in the same career teleport into that car.
40  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesome Story Driver Beta-Testing reports on: 2009 August 12, 05:52:25
I've been playing a fresh 'hood for a sim week with AM story progression. The first two days were using the 8/9 version, but the last five were using the 8/11 version. I had gassed all sims before starting. My test family is a bit unusual: a teen with part-time job and a child. I've had 32 NPCs added, but absolutely no residents. I have ten homes available. Seven of these ten homes have six beds and a crib and cost a tiny bit more than $14k. The other three have either three beds or three beds and a crib and cost $30-$50k.

Shouldn't I be getting some action by now?

Yeah, I realized this too and a simple solution is just ctrl+shift click a lot, and make a random sim or sims to live there.  Bif bam boom.  I started with an empty hood and plopped a few single sims into some low income homes and after a few days there was a new homeless family.  Just remember the cost of homes compared to how much the homeless get which on average is around $20K, sometimes more sometimes less, but not by much.

I split my town into three parts; low income, mid income and high income along the shores.  In a matter of maybe 10 sim days the low income neighborhood was filled(12 houses).  I haven't had any crazy musical chairs, only those moving in with their new spouses.  Homeless sims were slowly started to emerge as more and more boss/coworker interactions were taking place.  So far only two families in my hood have breached past low income and moved into the middle class neighborhood.

my sims have a huge fascination with touring the science lab and town hall with a future significant other.  It's been the "must do list" on date locations  Tongue
41  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 August 11, 00:56:22
they don't play nicely with the gender doors either.  I had to take them out(used them at the community pool entrance for the bathrooms).

Pescado, with SC, I have seen you say that to bypass EA's crappy free will, use one of the options under SC.  But the only option I get("do random things"?) say are EA based free-will.  Is this just how you labeled it?

also for kids, they don't have any free will assignments under SC.  I like to assign them "work&school" but when they are done they just idle until they need to eat, pee, shower or sleep.  Is it possible to have them go back to non-idle free will(so they can interact with friends, play, etc) when they are done with school work?  Same with adults, whenever I assign them to "work&school" they just idle afterwards.
42  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 August 07, 20:57:56
is it possible to fix the school entrance?  My kids don't all get into class until around 11am and it effects their school grade.  Is it possible to remove collision detection so they all just walk in through each other?

edit:Found the other thread regarding this issue.

44  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New EP & still no Hood Editor! on: 2009 August 05, 20:03:27
That's the ridiculous part of it. So many people (including myself) were drawn to the Sims because of the ability to make the game into whatever you wanted, whether it be a medieval themed neighborhood or a Prosperity neighborhood, or whatever. By forcing players to adhere to one style of gameplay, it makes the game boring for basically everyone but the sheeple. And without CC, EAxis is eliminating not only the creators, but anyone who doesn't play exactly the way they want.

unfortunately the sheeple outway the enlightened by the millions.
45  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Perfect aquarium...or not? on: 2009 August 05, 19:57:54
Hopefully the EP will have one, but I doubt it. What would happen if you put a piranha in with a bunch of goldfish, though?

that's the kind of hilarious "what would happen if..." scenario that we used to get in The Sims.
46  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Perfect aquarium...or not? on: 2009 August 05, 15:45:14
I want to collect the fish, but no way do I want dozens of fishbowls scattered around the house.  Who's bright idea was it to include a large portion of fish collecting and give us only a lousy fish bowl?  We've had an aquarium since the base game of Sims 1.  I was expecting an aquarium to show up on the sims store at an outrageous price, but clearly they haven't caught onto that idea yet.
47  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New EP & still no Hood Editor! on: 2009 August 05, 15:32:55
I just want my goddamn jacuzzi in this expansion.

I want my jacuzzi, pinball machine, remote control car, SOME kind of group game like Mashuno(sp?), a real aquarium(a game with all this fishing and collecting and all we get is a fish bowl?), a diving board, and about another DOZEN things that our sims could play with in Sims 2 BASE game and EVEN back to Sims 1 base game days(pathetic!).

bleck.  This franchise is deteriorating in front of our very eyes.  They care more about shoveling out mass product for mass profit than making an overall great product.  I wish more reviewers were harder on this franchise and put the Sims 3 in the 7's range where it belongs.  I'm even more astonished that the game industry isn't reporting or jumping on developers throats for all this micro transaction crap.  I don't mind 10-20$ episodic content that's going to give me 6+ hours of entertainment.  I have a problem with content being left out of games specifically so they can mass markup items at an online store.  I HOPE game reviewers crap the living turd all over this expansion and bring light to this fact and of course we can all expect a few new sets to be on their store when the expansion is released.

I really think Sims 3 could hurt the series in the long run if they continue what they're doing.  Only so many people could buy so many crappy games before they finally threw E.T. out and buried it with their Atari.

This ain't our daddy's Sims, that's for sure.  I miss Sims 1...and the first year or two of Sims 2...I don't get the spark with Sims 3 that I got opening up the box and playing the past two.  Everything started going downhill when sims on the console became a big seller.  It really wouldn't surprise me if most of them are now working on the PC game.  And I hate how most Sim sites you go to, any criticism get's smacked down as they all bow down and take it up the butt by EA.  I only HAVE my criticism because I have been a loyal fan since Sims 1 and I expect so much more than this.  It drives me bonkers that they have this WONDERFUL series and fantastic potential with Sims 3 and they're just phoning it in at the expense of their uber profits.  "We sold nearly 4 million copies of Sims 3 and to give back, we're charging you 5x for items than a stuff pack AND we're going to throw in minimal effort just for your loyalty!"

*sigh* I want Will Wright back...and the damn neighborhood editor.

49  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 August 04, 06:14:05
so if we use awesome's storymode does that conflict with Indiestone's?  Or is it more of an add-on if you have both?

Will this possibly lead to events happening around town like an actual wedding or a birthday party that your sims you are playing could be invited to or crash?
50  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Any idea what mods could be screwing up my game after patching it? on: 2009 August 01, 23:46:34
have you tried the mod compatibility checker?

http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=352474

but it sounds like a patch issue with the way its crashing.  A lot of people have been having the same scenario after they patched their game.
