1  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: Sims 4 Annoyance & Problem Thread. on: 2014 September 05, 19:03:28
I can live with most parts of the game after one day of having it - mostly it is dropping his "old" S3 ways to handle things. That means: no I spent not much time with it yet, and did not try to get some sexy time so far.

But, what I yearn for is a way to get rid of this fucking origin crap client, the way awesomemod made it possible to leave the disc in the box.

I don't understand why someone here is whining about EA (yet again)... they sell cheaply-made piss-f*cking crap for top bucks, it is a known fact since TS1, or even earlier. If you got S3 thinking that all would be better all of a sudden, you are a moron.

On a more related matter, I like EP10 better than that Supercrappual EP with not-undead pseudozombies and all that dumb wizard/fairy/hairy stuff no-one can use.

There are far too many "pose packs" around anyway... you might think that TS3 is more of a storytelling platform for wannabe authors than a game/sim.

The only types of downloads that is even more useless and redundant in numbers are the (felt) thousands of eye colors and "contact lenses" with which the community is swamped...

Regarding MTS, it's just a bad joke that they claim to reject uploads for "quality issues" and then glorify such waste-of-time crap.

No one is going to share that here. It's a compilation made up of the new set, two old sets, and PC from another old set.

You are totally right, I admit posting with an insufficient caffeine level... so I didn't see the the basketball arcade+hoop are from the "level up" set...

Oops. Let's have another cup before I do more bullshit requests.

Sorry for returning to this thread's original purpose, but...

Has anyone sighted the new "Man Cave" store set outside of EA's lair yet?

Thanks
Torsten

missnotits,

I second your request, maybe someone feels generous... but I'm afraid we might have to arrrr or buy FastLane, and extract it ourselves... or live with all the extra useless crap further clogging up the game.

8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Laptop Recommendations? on: 2011 September 13, 05:13:38
The main question is, do you want the laptop as exclusive or supplemental outfit?

Besides an i7-2600K desktop, I have a 14" Vaio CR-31S which is surely not the newest stuff around (Core2Duo T8100, 2x2.1 GHz, 3GB RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 w/ shared memory, OS is Win7 Home/32Bit) but Sims3 runs satisfactory with most eyecandy enabled. Startup time is a small issue however, since it only runs a 5400 rpm hard drive, but nowadays, you can get around that with a SSD disk. Sure, the screen is a tradeoff, trying to balance screen size/resolution (1280x800) vs encumbrance/mobility.
On the other hand, my Vaio is not too heavy (little more than 1 kg), fits also smaller bags/backpacks, and with the optional/add-on high-endurance battery manages >5h on low consumption or a at least a good 2-3h gaming session on high power.
Heat is only an issue with the supplied power adaptor which I like to give a few minutes to cool down before re-packing it after playing for some hours.

Since I re-package my ~2 GB's of downloads at least once a month, gameflow has no serious stutters or else. Just to remind you, having hundreds of small packages will seriously hurt gameplay on even a high-end i7 machine.

I do not try to suggest that my Vaio can live up to the performance a full-grown i5 or i7, especially desktop versions. But I use it more than my high-end rig, and in my expereince, it's not too shabby.

Just my 2cents

Could someone who has installed it please check if the spiral staircases from the "official announcement" made it into the release, or if they were dropped?

Thanks,
Torsten
10  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD & SCRIPT HACKS: CRASH ISSUES THREAD on: 2009 June 13, 16:31:43
Cool mod folks!

I also had the CTD problems, but found out that it was obviously a hack conflict to GORRE's "Faster Writing More Money" Hack. Since I removed that package my S3 boots up EVERY time.

Thx
