1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: TS3 Pregnancy Length Pack FINAL - 12hrs to 9mos! on: 2009 June 26, 12:48:05
Raz, that is weird. Can you tell me which length you were using?

MissKitty: I want to cuddle you because you share the name of my very first cat, who I got when I was three and who died last month. She had an amazing 20 years, but I am still in mourning. Sad

On the labor thing... oh my god, wow, 75 hours? That by far tops the labor times I can think of off the top of my head. That is just awful, and I'm sure it was a nightmare. (But the babby was probably worth it in your eyes.)

I am terrified most of hospital birth. I am but an ignorant girl, but I'm firmly convinced that midwife/dr/home -- with a hospital 10 minutes max drive and transportation ready, ideally -- is the way to go. Shitty epidural placement? Shitty diagnosis? Shitty people everywhere, crowding you, stressing you, freaking out and talking about cutting your bits up.. augherekhl;k. *twitch!*

I haven't ruled out a birth center type birth, though. Not a hospital, but not as comfy as home. I also want pain meds, which I know they can do at home, but not to what extent.

Which, of course, may be me talking out of my ass (like non-parents giving parental advice). I might not even end up with kid/s; they're scary too. But I am terrified of hospitals and doctors and nurses and the whole hospital labor pushy-shovey experience. Gah.

Also, on topic, more moodlets would be great! But iono how yet. :3

....a reply here, too, since I see the confusion's not abated (I edited my original post to prevent further speculation).

Sorry! I was indeed talking about Opiumgirl, I could have sworn I said her name. Her avatar is, to me, a realistic, obvious orange eye with.. god knows what going on, beside from that. I still can't figure it out.

I do like your chaos symbol, but it doesn't warp my mind nearly as much. Sowwy. :3
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: TS3 Pregnancy Length Pack FINAL - 12hrs to 9mos! on: 2009 June 26, 11:48:21
Ashkitty, is there a way to make a mod like this where the labor is longer?  2 hour labor is not realistic at all...hehe...

Yes,  there is. Tutorial time!

Lets take my basic nine day. Open it up. Look at the code. The two relevant values are these:

Quote
<kHourToStartContractions value="213">

<kHoursOfPregnancy value="216">

See those numbers? The difference between them is how long labor is. I would leave "hours to start contractions" at 213, or whatever value it is, and increase hoursofpregnancy by one for each hour of labor I would like.

It really is very easy. Download S3PI and do it yourself.

Now, what I'm not going to do is go through and do that, for every one of these files, then resave them all and release different versions for each length. I already feel I've been a bit generous with people's requests for time, and until I find something with pregnancy I actually have a problem with, I'm done. As it is I think a quick labor is best for my simmies. I've never had a babby, but I'm scared of doing so, and I would want my sims to be comfortable and quick too. It's still a game!

Also I prefer home births and watching sims bleat at me gets irritating pretty quick.
4  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Custom Default Eyes-By meee :) on: 2009 June 26, 11:34:15
I think I like these eyes and plan to try them out, but I have a little nitpick. The format you used for your preview photos, specifically colour eyes and gray faces works nice for a all over perspective, but I think the pictures on the left should have been just the coloured eye blocks. I really have a hard time telling how these are different, and if one of the two left pics is default eyes for comparison. It's a little better in the large image, but barely. For the sake of clarity and composition, I think this needs to be changed.

Constructive and hopefully helpful criticism aside, I'm sure they're better than the default either way.
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Hack Conflict on: 2009 June 25, 08:10:14
It seems like [he] doesn't know where it is. The packages install to:

C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages

Or whatever your general equivalent is. Note, it is NOT My Documents.

And it's all weird on macs, someone else might know that.

ew, macs.

Actually, I would love to get something from you -- namely, the info on what the hell your icon is. So it's an eye, and there's metal bits in it? It kind of looks like a table from above. Kinda. Or bike racks. And the little jutting bits on the sides, I have no idea. What does it MEAN?!!? What are these metal bits supposed to DO? -_o;

Sorry, I just try to figure it out every time i see it lol.

Edit: Yes, I was talking about Opiumgirl. Sorry! I really thought I quoted her, or something, then I kinda forgot about this thread.
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: TS3 Pregnancy Length Pack FINAL - 12hrs to 9mos! on: 2009 June 23, 19:24:37
I'm having a bit of a hard time understanding everything that you're asking clearly, but here goes.

I have checked dizzymental's most recent teen woohoo with preg files and my mod should be FULLY COMPATIBLE with that. Mine should also play nice with the no jealousy.

As for TeenWoohooPreg and NoJealousy, I thought the awesomemod came with a new jealousy-off feature. Please try removing the No Jealousy mod and trying Awesomemod no jealousy with Teenwoohoo (and this of course). It may work better. If it doesn't, please pick one, or wait until it does.

For not woohooing, make sure you are romancing enough (i go ALL the way around the interaction circle) even if you have max relationship.

I don't know how offhand, nor am I particularly interested in, "lowering the woohoo requirement" ... I assume this means woohoo between lower relationship scores? Eh, it's not hard at all to get woohoo as is, for me, so.

Hope that helps.
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: TS3 Pregnancy Length Pack FINAL - 12hrs to 9mos! on: 2009 June 23, 18:31:51
Shazaam - While that idea is great, I'm sure it's probably being worked on. I'll look around. If I don't see anything in the appropriate places, I might go off and snort some code.

Just wanted to say that I think the kids turned out quite nice -- particularly the girl, imho.  Though as you say, the lips could stand a bit of de-puffing, that's about it.

Also, I told you so.

11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: I would like a Smoking Mod - Can it be done? on: 2009 June 20, 22:53:02
*lights up a cigarette, drags, instantly offends 90% of people in an eight mile radius*

Quitting is on my list of "things I really need to do but don't actually have the willpower to accomplish."

I never had this fancy animated smoking pack from Sims 2 ya'll are talking about. All I had were some clothing accessory cigarettes. I am jealous. I love the idea of moodlets though. I think sore throat is a little silly.. if you got a bad case of that when you were first smoking, we'd have many less smokers yet. I propose the first moodlet be "Nicotine Euphoria" (a positive bonus); that little happy feeling fresh lungs get when they first hit. Nice little head high there. It's how they get you. Then after a while, this would stop appearing entirely; no bonus. But you have to keep smoking. If you stop, then you get the "Nicotine Fiend" negative moodlet. You need a cigarette, or you get angry, grouchy and sad. I think, after that, and after a length of time has passed -- say a sim month, who knows -- the "sore throat" would be more viable. Or Black Lungs.

I would buy this mod for 56,185,166 ZWD.

But, I would also be content with a little ciggy, joint, and swisher sweet clothing accessory so I can at least take awesome looking screenshots.

Oh by the way Jonas, I thought your initial post was hilariously worded.

13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Longer Pregnancy Mod & Teen Woohoo on: 2009 June 19, 03:31:49
Thanks very much for this, wanted a teen / teen woohoo mod and a longer pregnancy.

The other person failed at the mod, so if this one works, then this is officially the first teen woohoo mod.

Just to clarify, all this package has is the preg mod. [My] teen woohoo is still nonfunctional and being banged around in my computer.

Oh, and LFox: Yes. If I can make male/male, I will totally try for female/female too. I mean, it's a balance thing. And they have meshes already; c'mon. Tongue

A completely worthless progress update:
So, I figure I need to at least take a look at what's going on with this whole scripting thing to move past the... lack of total functionality I currently have. I downloaded Reflector and Reflexil, and am trying to figure out how to actually look at the files I want. I think I'm supposed to decrypt d3dx9_31, as from what I understand it is a (wrapped? wut?) gofur for bigger, more interesting coded files, but.. I don't know how to do that part. The wiki entry on it is in Greek to me, though I've read it more times than anyone should have to. So I'm stuck at "...d3dx9_31.dll' does not contain a CLI header." Grah.

That said, I can understand why there's another teen woohoo (or several) in progress. People want the feature, and to a humble newb like me, the code readily available in the gameplay data makes it seem potentially easy. But as ya'll all know, no, it really isn't that simple. The mesh crap is, frankly, retardedly imposing, but I shall continue my chant of "iiitty bitty baby steps..." Depending on the solution to The Mesh Problem TS3, f I can get some code voodoo working, maybe I can find a mesher. Or, likewise, if someone else gets some code going, maybe I can try my hand at meshing. As a pompous Artiste with much association with 3d modelers, I actually do know exactly what this entails: kill me.

Lastly, I'm glad a couple of ya'll seem to be enjoying the preggy mod as is. It makes me feel all bubbly. Cheesy

omgz it's eight pm and I just friggin woke up I hope this is coherent graaaaggghhhh zombehhh x_x
14  Serious Business / Spore Discussions / Re: Spore No-CD cracks- info and aid on: 2009 June 18, 06:38:06
I saw only Spore trainers at gamecopyworld -- which is unusual, considering they're the go-to for fixed exes. Generally.

Since I am lazy and this is Not My Problem, all I could find was this: http://undebug.org/games/spore-spore-creature-creator-no-cd-no-dvd-fixed-exe-fixed-image-patch-10-101

However, from nothing but a vague and cursory look at things, you probably want vr 1.03. I would suggest going to ye bay, finding a recent torrent with a recent exe or the exe itself, and, well, doing that thang.

15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Longer Pregnancy Mod & Teen Woohoo on: 2009 June 18, 02:35:55
There is no 17. That is still *12*. I'd be surprised if you managed to override what was a hardcoded script thing with an XML tuning, though. Does this actually produce 12-on-12? Did you disable the flag of woohoo as woohoo or something?

Ack. I'm just trying to keep things from degrading like they did in the related retardo land forum thread, while earnestly looking for an appropriate place to hold this discussion and glean some help.

Disclaimer: I never modded Sims 2. I am not a modder, coder, scripter, mesher, or anything. I am a dedicated hobbiest with waaay too much free time. The code that seems to make sense to me when I find it, I mess with and test. What doesn't, I leave alone, or try to figure out how it works. I'm always open to new learning, even if it amounts to "stfu noob" and/or pointing and laughing.

As I mentioned above, no, I have not achieved T-T. I don't even know how to touch scripts at this point, so if you say it's a hard-coded one of those, I'll have to set the hurdle higher.

Things I've tried:
- Changing base and/or auto ability for teens to true for files such as beds (Beds.WooHoo+Definition, and others);
- Changing "Socialization (Romantic)" ... I don't remember all the details, but adding/removing little things, particularly related to AgeGroup though I have no idea what that truly defines;
- Changing "Socializing" Various things. Tried changing YAE to TYAE where applicable; Lots of fiddles with "Best Friend" (changing "intended commodity"; "isRomantic"; replacing almost the whole full segment of Best Friend with Romantic Interest stuff)
   - This interests me considerably, because depending on what I do, it either
       a. Breaks the game: No sim portraits come up and clicking on them does nothing;
       b. Does not break the game, however, a sim at Best Friend status, after talking to his friend, will be at Good Friend status and unable to move back up to best or beyond.

There have been a few other things here and there, but they're all just as silly and.. well, not working. The last bit at least has the most interesting errors. I think, maybe, now, possibly.. would it be a script conflict causing either the no-clicky break or the Good Friend Syndrome?

That said, of course, I am ignorant. I didn't play much base game with teens this time or last, mostly YA. Do teens (T/T, not T/YA or A) have the innate, vanilla ability to "Cuddle on bed" "Kiss on bed" "Makeout on bed"? They do have this ability in my game, but it seems to only work with my patch in. Granted, it could just be that the teen girlfriend I'm trying to get my teen boy to call over and cuddle is too distracted. They can still cuddle/kiss/makeout on a sofa. Maybe I broke it! Cheesy

Drakron: Thanks, the current info on preg meshes, while grim, is still good to have knowledge of.
16  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / TS3 Pregnancy Length Pack FINAL - 12hrs to 9mos! on: 2009 June 18, 00:28:02
Preface: I deleted my ponderings on teen woohoo that were here originally since that has, thankfully, been made a moot point at this time. This is also pretty officially my last update on this. On to the treasuaarrr!

Ashkitty's TS3 Pregnancy Lengths Pack

My original nine day mod (vr 1.5) has not changed, I just renamed it and stuck it in this pack. You don't have to redownload it.

This is [now] a set of Pregnancy Mods that changes the time your sims are pregnant, with a few other miniscule tweaks. I hope you're all happy now! ;P

I have tested things on my game, and everything seems to be working well. If you use this, please let me know. I'm a terrible debugger, but if you find any problems specifically related to this, I would like to hear about them!

With <3,
Ashkitty

   STANDARD NINE DAY PREGNANCY
"Still my favorite, not too little or too much for me!"

- Sims water will break when they go into labor!
- Sims pregnancy lasts nine days instead of four.
- Will begin showing pregnancy at four days.
- Start preggo walking after six days.
- Sims show full belly after seven days. Should blend up in size.
- Pregnant sims now get nine days off work.
- Will start having a chance of pregnancy motives at 12 hours, up from 8. Nausea should not be affected.
- Maximum days as an NPC Baby changed to 3, up from one. Why was it one. o_o

Bug fix: A time issue has been changed with baby birth. If you had an issue with vr 1.0, this should change things. If you install it during the middle of a pregnancy, I have no idea if it applies to that birth, so when it doubt, has another babby!

Bonus feature: You get a slightly increased chance of having multiples from listening to both kid tv and kid raido together (raised from the bonus you already get from vanilla TS3).

--> FROM HERE ON, everything remains the same as in my original mod, except for what is explicitly stated.

   TWELVE HOUR PREGNANCY
"Like an In'n'Out burger, only arguably less delicious!"

- Symptoms begin at hour: 1
- Small belly visible at hour: 4
- Funny walk starts at hour: 6
- Big belly time at hour: 8
- Begin contractions at hour 10 (has babby at 12hr)
- Special to 12hr: Contractions are 10 minutes shorter, cause.. it makes sense..
- Special to 12hr: No days off.

*I didn't want to make this as instant as possible, as I've seen a "have baby now" in the advanced debug options enabled by Pescado's awesome Awesomemod. It is not yet fully supported I believe, and I noticed it on an already pregnant sim only. If it doesn't work now (which incidentally I think it does...) then it likely will soon. Use that. Smiley

   THIRTY DAY PREGNANCY
"Give mom more time to be both bloated and pampered, especially for Epic Lifers!"

- Symptoms begin at day: 5
- Small belly visible at day: 15
- Funny walk starts at day: 20
- Big belly time at day: 25
- Begin contractions on day: 30
- Special to 30day: 30 days off.

   THE REAL NINE MONTH PREGNANCY
"If you use this, I personally think you are some sort of crazy. But, I guess we're all a little crazy, so enjoy it!"

- Symptoms begin in: 3rd month
- Small belly visible in: 6th month
- Funny walk starts at in: 7th month
- Big belly time starts in: 8th month
- Begin contractions on: End of 9th month, day 270 and hour 6480 specifically... wow!
- Special to 9mo: 30 days off, still. I do not know how to make "off work" start, say, near the END of the pregnancy rather than immidiately after the sim gets pregnant. Sorry. I figured 30 days off would make signifigantly more people happy than 270 days off, really.

Now, I hope everyone's happy! Furthermore, while I shall be supporting and stomping bugs out of these (though there shouldn't be any at all), I won't be making any more of these particular mods. I find this is a good range, and if you want something different, it's really not hard to do it yourself. Download S3PI tools and open any one of my packages in them. Edit the file and save it as your own.
It's really easy to figure out what's what, the code for this modification is pretty well-noted. If you want to do just this and run into trouble, pop me a pm or email and I'll be glad to help.

Oh, and I don't care whatsoever if you redistribute, just please, throw me a bone and credit me somewhere, and leave this original readme. Thanks!

Additional bits:

- Fully compatible with Awesomemod because Awesomemod is awesome.
- DO NOT INSTALL MORE THAN ONE OF THESE AT A TIME! I don't know that it would break your game, but it would probably screw something up at least temporarily. So just don't. I don't do tech support for that.

Superminifaq:
  - Can't Woohoo? Romance more. Yes, even if you're max relationship. My mod does not touch this.
  - Having 11, 20, 82 babies? Not my mod. Official bug.
  - Think my mod might be the problem? Don't delete it yet! Do this EXACTLY:
1. When you notice a problem, stop. Use "Save As" and save your game under a brand NEW name. This way you will still have your old last save.
2. Close game entirely.
3. Restart game. Is the problem still there?
3a. Yes - remove my mod and try again.
3b. No - See? Not my mod. Wink
If you answered Yes to 3a, please email me with a detailed account of the bug and I will either try to fix it, or direct you to some help.

Enjoy!

Originally I saw this, and thought to myself, "Hey, that's not so bad..."

THEN I came back and saw all the plates hovering near the garbage. Ouch. :p

My park stays pretty clean, and I visit often. Do you think the mess is compiled by a bunch of sims with slob/dirty/whatnot trait combos? Or lack of neat sims? Or just bad pathing...

Yeah, I use my scroll wheel constantly. I could understand a backup set of keys, though; the Z X or + - combo would be awesome since there are three sets of keys that do it already. Bit excessive..

Just to make certain - I had all graphics turned up when I began my game but I still had to manually turn up the "Sims Quality" so that may be a factor as while my sims have some weird texture to a degree, they are not nearly as blotchy as the pic above.

What do you mean with manually turn up the "Sims Quality"?

Do you mean we still can tune up the graphic setting of Sims model beyond EA setting? Can you share us a trick for it?

I think they meant that all their graphics sliders IN sims were up, except sim quality maybe got toggled lower somehow and they upped it.

That said, I did get a nice little boost to AA and some better lighting on sim skins after I went and fooled around with my graphics card settings in Nvidia Control Panel, or whatever the advanced graphics settings are now. Really love the visual quality of my game, and my performance has taken no obvious hit.

But my computer is a monster, YMMV.

Is there a non-launcher way for that? Cuz you sure as hell can't do through the website. Jerks.
22  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Share pix / vidz of THE HORROR here on: 2009 June 16, 23:30:13
I haven't figured out if this is a glitch or what, but my Sim is now level 10 in Handyness, and he still can't upgrade this:

<snip>

My sim got a similar wish - except in her case it was to upgrade a door. And no - It can't be done.

ACTUALLY, you can upgrade doors. It's awesome. However, it requires higher level doors -- I upgraded, specifically, the three-square-wide door with square windows in it, one of the bigguns. It gives you different doorbell options, which is quite useful. I couldn't upgrade the basic cheapy 1 tile door, though, at the same handiness skill. I also believe that the upgraded door needs to be set as Front Door, and therefore, there can only be ONE.

I now have an awesome "haunted" evil doorbell. Muahaa.

I wonder if the fences are the same -- needing to be one or two tiles or "expensive". Time to go see!

Edit: Well poopoo. I made a line of fence and gave it the biggest gate (four tile i think?), a two tile and a one tile gate. Couldn't touch a-one of them with my 10 handiness girl. Aww. Sad
Editedit: Looking at the screenshot, I tried the one and two tile "white or not" picketed gates. Nope. Even boxed the fence in this time, in case it mattered. Which it doesn't. Stupid fakewish.

I didn't even know there was a x64 TS3, and I'm running Vista x64. Also, I pirated before I bought, but either way, both the arr and the (R) showed up in x86 Program Files.

Retardo question, but is there an english x64? Does the "russian" x64 have an english option? Am I just a stupid who should not bother her little self about this? Tongue

This may be useless information, but it seriously bothers me and I hope at some point it can be fixed.

I wanted the House family swimming over at the exchange. I moved them into a house with the requisite number of beds and, after editing House to my liking (turned that fugly thing into a hawt, yee), I got them all medical career jobs and let them go, with the exception of having one of my kids go molest house from time to time. Most of them have, of course, the medical career wish.

When Select Sim was added to Awesomemod, or I just noticed it in a new update, whatever, I finally took control of House to check up on the happy family. The results? Everyone still has their med job at level one or two, except for Wilson (HAW!) who is now a World Renowned Surgeon and has eight points of logic. ...wut?

I assume this is because Wilson is the only one who spent any time on his logic, I believe the others had one or two points each, which is likely what's keeping them back. Again, I never played Wilson, never even talked to him with my active family. Why and how was he the only one to level logic? He certainly seems to be a rare case.

What I want to know is, is there any way to:
- Have sims work on their career-requisite skills, if nothing else.
- Have sims auto-apply for a job based on their lifetime wish, if applicable.

Again with Select Sim, I've been bouncing around npcs and discarded family fugs. Way too many discrepancies there... like the poor old lady, I don't remember whom, who wanted all her life to be an astronaut, but retired in her Journalism career at level two. It's just so sad. Sad
25  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Corrupted hood - can it be fixed? on: 2009 June 15, 07:36:17
-If your save game is corrupt, go to Documents\Electronic Arts\TS3\Saves, find your save.
-There should be two files, "save.sims3" and "save.sims3.backup"
-Move, rename or delete "save.sims3" I personally rename mine to "saveORIGINAL.sims3" but that's an old habit.
-Rename "save.sims3.backup" to "save.sims3" - ie, just remove the .backup extension.
-Load your game, and try to load the previous save. Crossing your fingers helps.

Tis all I know to do, but it's better than starting over. Can say it has worked for me, and I wasn't able to load up my game at all after a bad crash.
