1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: My whole experience of TS3 patching problem (kind of a guide) on: 2009 August 03, 15:34:16
http://www.2shared.com/file/6913766/fa94c9bd/Sims3ver1324_NoCD_Crack_by_Ma-step.html

3rd Result when you google "no.cd.crack of sims 3 for the version 1.3.24" and it's from MATY as well.
2  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Collection of Unedited and Backup Sims 3 Files on: 2009 August 03, 08:41:30
It'd have made more sense to upload an un-rar'd torrent so people can just download the files they need instead of the whole thing.

That's what I suspect, but for now I'll praise the miracle patch and hope that my game stays semi-stable.

Hybrid; Reloaded patched to Razor with Witch's Bin with both Official patched.

Mine WASN'T working fine until I downloaded a crack specifically for the latest patch, and now I finally have my game back!
So thankyou Veronica for letting me know there was a specific crack available.
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Stuff I would have noticed earlier if I weren't so stupid. on: 2009 August 01, 11:45:01

The mood candles can be put on other surfaces, like bathroom counter tops.  They can be lit, but nothing seems to change while they're lit.  They appear to be ordinary decorations, so it's a bit surprising they are sold in the grocery store, rather than being ordinary decorations in Buy mode.

They do give a mood boost. When they're lit, you'll see the mood bar has a throbby halo round it. You only need one, anywhere on the lot, to give the effect to the whole household.

I believe the throbby mood bar is Lifetime Happiness Points being acquired because the Sims mood is high. Mood candles are available at the grocery store because you can place them on the bath, I suppose.
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Why aren't my mods working? on: 2009 July 31, 13:32:34
But did you reinstall it AFTER the game was installed?
Other than that I'm no help, anything I know is only from experience.
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Why aren't my mods working? on: 2009 July 31, 13:10:52
This is neither facts nor strategy.

Have you recently reinstalled your game? If so, reinstall the Helper Monkey because it creates the necessary resource file.

Are you sure the boss didn't change?
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Kleptos Only Stealing Light Fixtures on: 2009 July 30, 16:13:27
I've discovered the best way to steal is to place them a fair distance away from what you want them to steal, within the 6 square limit obviously, but far enough for them to walk to it. Watch where they go and if they head towards and item you don't want just cancel the action and you save one of your precious 3 steals from being wasted on something like curtains. Repeat until they steal the right thing. If they start to do the pre-steal action though you've left it too late.

Also the best house to steal from: the Alto's in Sunset Valley. You can get the Margaret Vaguester pretty much instantly without stress, because there is nothing else around it to steal, provided you're smart enough NOT to start the action directly under the wall light.

Is this reminding anyone else of The Pit of Despair?
12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Error codes 12 and 13 along with crashing. on: 2009 July 30, 15:14:29
I pause before I save every time and am still getting error 13's, even though the .bad was deleted.
Just then I was saving (not quitting and saving, just saving) when the game simply crashed. No warning, no error messages. I never had this problem before I reinstalled TS3, I'm thinking perhaps it's an issue with the registry.
13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Bizarre Bugs on: 2009 July 30, 10:21:19
I had a similar issue to #1, but only with one Sim, not with a whole household.
I just split him from the household and then merged him back in; I find it's a solve-all to most problems.
14  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Which files are needed to transplant old game into new? on: 2009 July 30, 10:18:53
I am aware that double posting is not allowed and I apologise for any toes that may get stepped on, but I figured that waiting two days and then reviving the thread would be better than making a new one.
Perhaps I was asking too much in my original post. I've made a new game and if anyone has an answer to my original question I'd be very grateful to hear it. However I understand that this may be asking too much, so instead I would just like to know this;

Where are the customisations and re-colourings of objects saved and is it possible to move them to a new game? I know it's anal but I'd like to be able to re-introduce my customisations if it's possible.
15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Creating a Prison System to explore Sim Inequality! on: 2009 July 30, 09:50:20
Does a simulated prison system really have to be politically correct? Really?
Really?
Also an FYI, prostitution isn't illegal in NSW and I assume all of Australia, as long as it isn't conducted on the streets. Fun fact: the jobs section of my local paper regularly advertises for new girls.
16  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Hard-to-find conversational options on: 2009 July 27, 14:52:55
Sims with the Schmoozer trait can always Praise and Flatter. Friendly sims can always Friendly Hug, Express Fondness and Ask About Day.
Under Cooking there is also Discuss Fine Cuisine, Trade Kitchen Secrets (or something similar, maybe just trade recipes? Your sim learns a new recipe from this) and Boast about Culinary Prowess as well as Enthuse about Cooking.
For Books there is Talk about Books, Talk about Bookstore, Discuss Books, Praise Fantastic (or similar) Book, Criticise Lousy Book (which gives the 3 hour Let Off Steam Moodlet) and Ask About Book. Possibly others I've forgotten, but those are the ones I've seen today.
17  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Which files are needed to transplant old game into new? on: 2009 July 27, 11:14:31
No, I never play other households, the neighbourhood they were in isn't there at all.
When I came back it was Ramirez with the family cut out but I couldn't play them either. Also they were in Sunset Valley, I was playing them and hadn't re- or un-installed anything since saving them, but I think perhaps the initial way I installed the game and transferred files caused their inevitable demise.
18  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Which files are needed to transplant old game into new? on: 2009 July 27, 10:11:40
My legacy family has gone AWOL after several in game borkings and general fuckery. I have a feeling that this is because I reinstalled The Game on a new disk and just copied and replaced the old Program and My Docs EA files where the new ones were, the old folders having all the store content, patched from reloaded to razor and then with the official Patch. I reinstalled AwesomeMod and Indie Stone (sans core) separately. Just then when I was trying to save the game closed completely and came back with the Ramirez family whom I have never played or even heard of.

I've more or less resigned myself to the fact my legacy family is gone, but what I would like to know is what are the bare minimum files to transfer my old neighbourhood, households in said neighbourhood (if it's a different file) and settings? I can always just reinstall my CC and repatch the game, but I'd like to give saving my Sims one last go. I know there is probably a veritable assload of files I have to transfer, but any help would be very much appreciated.
19  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: When is consanguinity dilute enough to make distant relations into romance on: 2009 July 24, 23:32:51
The game also recognises Step-Parents and Step-Siblings as well as Half-Siblings.
I'm not really down with all the second, third, removed cousin laws and whatever, but my child sim recognised his aunt with a mutual father/grandfather but different mother/step-grandma (I didn't see Step-Grandparent, though the child didn't interact with her)
20  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What defines "Growing up well"? on: 2009 July 24, 23:28:30
I'm playing with the 190 day lifespan, so I have toddlers for 15 days...it can get a tad booooring, except that I'm flipping between several houses, so it actually works out okay.

Anyway, with 15 days of toddler fun to fill, the trick seems to be the following - keeping them fed and their social up (the teddybear does help with that). Have them learn all three toddler skills. Have them max out both logic and music on the toys. And have them read as many books as possible. Don't bother with the 'Sprocket' books - they don't seem to learn crap from them. But the other books will give them an additional boost in logic, artistry (painting), and writing.

At first I thought that they had to have a parent read with them, but it doesn't even raise their social! So now I just plop the books on the floor and let them read 'em. Only bad part about that is if you have a parent who is a neatfreak - they will pick the books up and put them away - so the trick is to put them out one at a time, have toddler read it and then put it back in bookcase.

Anyway, I've never had a toddler not grow up well, so must be doing something right doing that method.

I do know that with children and teens their 'grow up well' thing has everything to do with their school performance.

The pregnancy thing, I've yet to figure out as with others, I've had some I've ignored and some I've pampered and they've all read the preggers books and sometimes I get to choose one and sometimes two...I've never had a bad enough pregnancy where I didn't get to choose any.

Wait, can toddlers read books on their own and still get the "skills" from them?
21  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Object upgrades - the real list on: 2009 July 19, 12:49:23
I don't think so, my Sim had no creative and still got all the options (Jokester, Haunted, Posh and something else)
22  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: How can ghosts be forced to eat Ambrosia? on: 2009 July 19, 03:48:51
Question:
Does Ambrosia go bad?
As in, once I have a Sim who can make the heavenly dish, can they make it until they cark it for future generations to nom out of the fridge?

I remember reading somewhere that no it does not go bad. I personally have had a number of servings in the fridge for a LOOOONG time. Have also had them sitting around in a sim's inventory without going bad.

Wunderbar! My resident chef shall now become an ambrosia machine

24  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch released. on: 2009 July 13, 10:02:05
Question:  What is RLD to RZR?

Eaxis released an unofficial version of the sims 3 in May to confuse pirates and cause caos. That version is shipped with bugs put there on purpose to convince the downloaders of that version that a retail version would be better. So RLD (Reloaded) is that pre-release version shipped with bugs. The RZR version is the new retail version. There is a patch to update the reloaded one to razor.

ANYWAYS, I need a No-CD crack, I don't think i should use more mods cause they were a huge pain in the ass while trying to update the game with that fucking patch.

Just use the one that comes with RLD?
I am, with the patch, with the Indie Stone Mod, with censor patch blur and all other kinds of fuckery on a vista laptop and have yet to experience implosion.
Whine less.

This place would make great study for the final thesis of a sociology student.

If memory served, the last one who tried that got its ass kicked on questions of methodology.

I did my PIP on internet communities and got a band 6, and nearly all of my primary research was done by observation of internet communities.
