Huh, I wonder what I did wrong, since they didn't show up right.

I tried out the straight hair, and this is what I got:

In game:

I was injured in a really horrible fireworks accident three years ago, and the doctors used this special netting to help me regrow skin.  I looked exactly like the 'in game' version.  This could be useful for an interesting story arch...

I'm trying it out.  Downloading right now.
54  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Moodlets + Six Bars vs. Eight Bars on: 2009 July 17, 16:01:02
I think as an elder maybe these depressed states should affect happiness or have some added affect. I have sims whose moods are very low from witnessing a death but their fun meter is full? It makes no sense.

But in real life fun and happiness are two totally different things.  It's totally possible to be depressed over something happening, but go out with friends and have a great time.
55  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Socially Deprived Larvae Suck! on: 2009 July 14, 16:36:45
I found that Snuggle is a short animation, and the parents usually have a want to Snuggle.  So, I always snuggle after feeding or pottying.  Takes care of that problem.
56  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: File that decides Maxis "townies"' names on: 2009 July 14, 06:29:53
I had the spare in my Legacy family get married and move out with her husband.  They had twin girls- blonde hair, blue eyes, pale skin.  Their names? Tawana and Lashanda.  I have gotten some adorable names- Lexie, Sam, and Gina come to mind.

EDIT:
But how could I forget this gem?
57  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Who are you, and why are you my girlfriend? on: 2009 July 13, 15:35:09
I've been using IndieStone for a couple days, and it is a hard tossup between AwesomeMod and IndieStone.  I would phrase it this way- which is more important, story progression being fixed, or everything else being fixed?  Right now for me story progression is more important, so that's what I'm using.

So far, IS has been great- couples that had been engaged since teens and were now elders were finally getting married, all the townies I created are pairing off and having children, and sims are getting promoted in jobs that make sense for them.  However, I do miss all the cheats being gone, including editsim.  There's basic editsim, but it only works on the active sim.  And I forgot about all the whining- sims whine a lot!
58  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: How-to: Cleaning up the homeless scum in your town on: 2009 July 13, 15:08:27
Err, what if you have multiple families with the same family name? I moved several adult children out of a household not knowing that kick out made them homeless (hey the menu said it assigns them a random house but I guess awesomemod overrides that).

Then it gives them all the same amount of money.  I found that out the hard way- my legacy family's money was set to the same amount as their homeless adult son.
59  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: I don't want your goddam crappy macaroni and cheese! on: 2009 July 12, 06:16:50
In my family? Everybody. Zonti's graduation party had about 300 guests, I shit you not.

It kind of reminds me of how parties go in my friend group. One person will be hosting, and everyone feels like they need to contribute, even if the host says they have it covered. We proceed to always bring much more food and booze than needed. I think we've supplied my one best friend's liquor cabinet. She now sends us back with parting gifts of half-used bottles of hard liquor.

See, if Uncle James brought half a handle of rum to little Lauren's sixth birthday party, that would be interesting.  I wish that would happen.  (Modders, get on it!  Hot dogs to gin!)  But instead he's bringing a plate of Autumn Salad.  Then, he walks all the way upstairs to her baby sister Lisa's room, and puts the salad on the end table.  Who at EAxis thought this was a good idea?  Maybe with one guest, but when you have thirty all looking for a place to put their offering, it gets old fast.

What would be awesome is a "No, you don't have to bring anything" checkbox on the invite screen.  Maybe the mother-in-law ignores it, but everyone else generally adheres.
60  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: I don't want your goddam crappy macaroni and cheese! on: 2009 July 12, 03:47:33
Eh, just ignore it. The Robotic Hand of God will smite it when it goes bad.

But I'd rather it just not exist at all.  Who the hell gives a six year old pancakes for their birthday?
61  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / I don't want your goddam crappy macaroni and cheese! on: 2009 July 12, 02:48:29
Why do all my guests insist on bringing random ass plates of food?  I have a sim who's a chef- I don't need any more waffles.  After every party, I have to go through and try and find all the food that's been scattered around the house.  I usually miss an autumn salad or two, and have to deal with the foul monstrosity on the kid's desk later.
62  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: what to do with these tombstones? on: 2009 July 11, 22:21:32
I built a ghost pen.  It's fenced in, and I put computers, a bookshelf, and benches in it.  The ghosts whine about not being able to do stuff inside, but I just ignore it.  They hang out, and scare each other.

Oh no, no you're not.
64  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Caching thumbnails for the CAS on: 2009 July 11, 17:33:43
Ugh I agree, I wonder if there's a way to make a program that will cache it...

Because patterns take forever to load  Roll Eyes

And CAS takes a little to long with loading hairs. I noticed that clicking on all of them and then clicking the one you want makes it go faster...So there must be a temp cache file stored somewhere?

Premade sims take even longer.  I wonder if it's the retarded expressions that make it impossible to see what a sim really looks like.  If it is, I'm angry.
65  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Caching thumbnails for the CAS on: 2009 July 11, 06:01:54
I would also like to know.  Imagine once CC really takes off.  Well, I suppose I'll get used to it, like the two hour long loading time for Sims 1 and the one hour long loading time for Sims 2.

"Hey, you're looking pretty good..."

Aww, how cute!  Their first kiss!

Oh shit.  It's angry hormonal pregnant wife.
(This is the same scene as the second, just different camera angle.  I wish I could say I set this up- but she wandered by as I was hooking him up for the first time)

"Bitch, we are DONE!"

"Oh adorable best platonic male friend of mine, let me cry into your arms!"

OMG LABOR!!!1!1!

Oh, God, I remember that.  My game was so messed up I had to call Maxis tech support.  I was a 12 at the time, so when they told me that I had to delete all my custom content, I did it.  I had actually paid for a lot of the stuff- WDS and TSR had just gone pay, if I remember correctly.  A subscription is a lot when it's your entire allowance.  I was so pissed when I found out that the CC had nothing to do with my issues.
70  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Does the Vegetarian Trait affect anything besides food choices? on: 2009 July 05, 05:09:07
I'm in a Social and Moral Ethics class and we just read a bunch of essays about the morality of eating meat.  One interesting opinion in one of the essays is that with rights comes responsibilities.  Since we cannot hold animals accountable for their actions (aka jail and other punishments), then they do not have rights.  I'm not saying I agree with this, just interesting food for thought.

That is an interesting theory, but what if we apply that to young children, or severely retarded or mentally ill grown-ups, who also may be judged not to be accountable for their actions. Do they not have rights, either, then? Was that discussed in the class? I'm thinking that theory has a giant loophole in it.

I don't remember what the ethicist said in response to that question, but I'm sure there was something.  It's a common response to any issue of animal rights.  I'm at my parents house right now, but when I get back home tonight or tomorrow I'll check the essay and tell you what it says.

Personally, I'm thinking that every philosophical theory is silly right now, because they all seem to have these giant loopholes in them.  Also, it seems like you can make any decision and make it moral just by thinking enough about it.  I prefer the moral egoist approach- if I think it's wrong, it's wrong.  End of story.  Apparently that doesn't work in an academic setting.

You don't think something that's going to be giving up it's life so that you can fill your belly deserves to be treated with respect? I'm not saying don't eat em I'm saying they deserve respect. Unlike apples they do feel pain.

74  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Uploading from the Launcher- Borked! on: 2009 July 04, 18:29:07
I'm trying to upload some screenshots to the official site using the Launcher, and it is freezing at the end of the green bar on every screenshot.  I've tried several different screenshots, and none of them work.  First of all, is there a way to fix this?  Second, is there another program I can use for this purpose that's less annoying than the Launcher?

In case anyone else has this problem, I figured out the solution.  Move all of the screenshots out of the Screenshot folder.  Start the Launcher, close the Launcher.  Put all the screenshots back.

That seemed to work for me.
75  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What 5 Buy Mode objects would you like Modders to make first? on: 2009 July 04, 02:34:36
Ankle socks.  I don't want my sims to wear shoes with no socks, but the big socks look stupid with short pants or shorts.
Customizable maternity wear.
Guy's hair that doesn't make them look like a tool or a grandfather.
Pajama pants.  Not sweatpants, pajama pants.
Shelves, but that's been said a million times.
