1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: All Game Sound Shuts Off on: 2010 September 07, 06:28:18
Killing "every" service sounds like you're killing those dodgy Sound Card Driver services that installs with your sound card, since TS3 doesn't run any such services. And yes, those unnecessary sound card programs probably DO cause grief.

Yes, and I should know better. The culprit was my creative xfi crap that I forgot to disable after updating.
2  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Game Update for: 1.15/2.10/3.6/4.3 on: 2010 September 07, 06:14:14
This game update includes:

New Features

·         Sims that drive extensively can now develop a relationship with their vehicles.  Vehicles can be named once a friendship is formed.

·         The Vehicle Enthusiast Trait is now available.  Sims with this trait can name their vehicles immediately and develop relationships with them more quickly.

Base Game Updates

·         Fixed an issue where ghosts could become stuck in vehicles under certain conditions. Ghosts will now properly exit vehicles after arriving at their destination.

·         Nameable items can only be named when they belong to the active household.

World Adventures Updates

·         Career titles for Sims visiting Egypt, France and China will now display in the Relationship Panel tooltips.

The Sims 3 Create a World

·         Create a World users need to install a new version of The Sims 3 Create a World Tool.  Users can find the Create a World page from the "Games" drop down in the site header.
end of cut n paste

I wonder what this update will break.  Roll Eyes
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: All Game Sound Shuts Off on: 2010 September 02, 14:13:51
I was having the no-sound issue since the last Ambitions patch. Here is what a guru on ea forums yesterday told me to do and it actually worked for me.

Problem source link: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/257198.page

1. Click Start or press the Windows key and R, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK.

2. Click on Startup.

3. Select disable All.

4. Click on Services.

5. Check the box that says Hide All Microsoft Services, then Disable All.

6. Apply, then restart your system.

Attempt to run the game. This will eliminate most of what might be interfering with TS3 running properly on a software level. Once you're done, repeat the above procedure, using the Enable All buttons to turn services and startup items back on.

-Big Guy-

I only tested it for 1 (human) game hour, but that was enough since it was cutting out on me around 15 minutes of gameplay. Hopefully, this will work for everyone that's having this issue. Moral of the story: Kill every startup/service that isn't Micro$ucks related before loading the game.
4  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Merging mods to increase Performance! (Manually creating .dbc archives) on: 2010 March 16, 20:39:32
I know this topic is a bit old, but I just want to thank Anach for the instructions on how to merge/clean-up packages in S3PE. Everything works great! Before cleaning house with this method, my load times were around 10 minutes (5.88GB, roughly 6,414 files). I have cut the load time down to 3 minutes (3.96GB, 381 files). Object catalogs load super fast also. Thanks again Anach, you've made this bitch of a game playable again!
5  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD & SCRIPT HACKS: CRASH ISSUES THREAD on: 2009 June 08, 16:39:04
Mr. Pescado, the new AwesomeMod you posted today (6/8/09 - 3:31AM) is working quite well, no 0100 mishaps. Before this one, the only one that worked for me was the AwesomeMod (6/6/09 - 10:30PM).

To get this new version to work I just put it in the packages folder overwriting the existing working Mod and generated a new aweconf.package (Disabling only TS2Aging). Loaded my test hood that was paused at 12:30 and it worked. I am still using my test hood to discover any anomalies if any might come up. Did NOT purge any cache files and I am NOT using enablescripterror.package.

What I'm working with:
Test hood Riverview
Vista x64
TS3 CE retail dvd (version 1.0.631.00001)
Bypassing launcher using no-cd cracked execution file.
Have downloads from store/launcher and pudding clothes packages.
Stuff in Mods/Packages:
pudding clothes packages
aweconf.package (newest)
awesome.package (newest)
Carrigon_TS3FasterHomeworkHack.package
NoZzzs.package (by HystericalParoxysm)

Thank you for updating, will play test right now.  Smiley
