It is Sunset Valley and yes I did have a law-enforcement Sim (ironically the grandmother of the criminal Sim) raid the warehouse a long time ago.

How much worse does piss-poor programming get? Before I could even start my Sim in the Criminal career I had to replace the warehouse lot as it had the well-known "cannot enter" bug. In order to even do that I had to use moveobjects to replace the lot as it would not place otherwise, giving me a constant "cannot intersect other objects" message even after clearing the lot completely.

Once started in the Criminal career I am having constant problems with the work hours. The career panel says my Sim should be at work but no carpool shows and the "send to work" button claims it is not my Sims working hours. The Sim goes to work about one in three of his supposed shifts and as a result is progressing at the rate of a paraplegic snail stuck in frozen treacle.

Headdesk. It's driving me nuts.

Thank you. I will try that.

In which case I am a deal too stupid to know how to reset Wink

Forgive the mac-using ignorance. How do I reset the sim? (back in the good old days I had the Lot debugger...feels all nostalgic)

I don't have the mod. I'm far too stupid to understand how to get it into my puter (a mac)

One of my Sims has the well-documented "plate stuck to hand" bug. It is not only annoying but she is unable to cook any foods involving the use of the food processor because of it. She cannot cook anything without the "cannot reach it" or "something in the way" icon showing.

She can cook if I remove the food processor up to the point of serving the food where the "cannot reach it" icon recurs.

There seems to be nothing to be done. She is doomed to have a bowl of mac and cheese forever attached to her hand.

32  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Unlucky Sims. Hmmm on: 2009 July 02, 23:51:03
Getting bored the other day I set out to kill off an annoying next-door fambly. Bugger me if Grimmy won't take Sims with the unlucky trait before their time.

I four times got a message saying "Your misfortune amuses me and all those around you. I won't deprive others of that amusement"

My Gawd, these unlucky Sims are fire, water, starvation and electric proof.

33  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Problems with the graphics rendering water on: 2009 July 01, 17:58:24
I have a mac with a reasonably good if hardly top of the line graphics card (Radeon X1900) and the problem I have is that whilst small bodies of water such as swimming pools and small ponds are excellently rendered, complete with reflections, water detail and so on, the larger bodies of water cause the graphics to glitch and show the sea and larger lakes as red, green or black. This tends to settle if the screen is held still for a while but will resume if zoom in or out is used.

Is this an inevitable consequence of a crappy graphics card? Or is there anything to be done?

35  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Careers and how not to change them on: 2009 June 23, 20:08:20
This has happened a few times. One was a switch from the business track to politics, the other from military to athletic.

36  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Careers and how not to change them on: 2009 June 23, 19:12:56
I'm constantly getting pop-up messages saying things such as "Your Sim Snoggins has all the right skills to switch careers from Lulzcow Level 3 to Attention Whore Level 5. Would you like to change career?"

If I click on the option box "yes" bugger-all happens.

Is this an epic fail on my part or is EA unaccountably doing it wrong?

37  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Elder forgotten by Grim Reaper on: 2009 June 15, 20:09:54
The most ridiculous thing about the entire scenario is that I never permitted this Sim to retire (a habit acquired from Sims 2)

So at 120 she is still winning games. Still a leading athlete. Still has the stamina and skill of a young adult.

Oh well.

38  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Elder forgotten by Grim Reaper on: 2009 June 15, 19:44:50
Please the Godz of the Interwebz kill off my frickin Sim. !20 years old and showing no sign of imminent bucket-kicking. I most like borked it by having her at the top of the Athletic career. Just die already.

I cleverly managed to miss my one in-game demise so far by being busy sending the teen to the movies when his Dad karked it. Gahhhh.

And the bloody thing is a wretched mac....

Headdesk X a zillion.
