1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Sims Medieval on: 2011 March 30, 19:59:48
Apparently it's my graphics card. A recently purchased ATI Radeon HD 5770.

As a mac-using peasant I have limited choices in graphics cards. I bought this one because my older card an ATI Radeon X1900XT couldn't handle Sims 3 without some very nasty glitching.

I give up! Anyone who wants a copy of Sims Medieval (Limited Edition) apply here. I'll even pay the postage.

2  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Sims Medieval on: 2011 March 29, 18:24:33
But I am no sheep. I really fancied this game having played Sims since the original release.

Caveat emptor more like. I should have known better. Oh for the halcyon days of Aspyr re-coding

Don't bother spending the £30.00 if you have a mac.

I have a MacPro which is well over the minimum technical game specifications for Sims Medieval but the game crashes with monotonous regularity and is unplayable.

Thirty quid down the shitter then. Not that I should be remotely surprised.

4  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Here we go again on: 2009 November 27, 19:50:31
Yup. The question presents itself inevitably.

Why should I have to?

In S2 the EP's just worked. EA's greed and stupidity has caught up with them. They can control all macs and all PC's?

5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Here we go again on: 2009 November 27, 19:18:27
Well what can I say to that? You are the All Knowing Omniescent One.

I don't know what is amiss. Consulting the official forum is as pissing in a hurricane.

6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Here we go again on: 2009 November 27, 18:16:50
Nope. I can't be bothered. I'm a bit shocked by how unsurprised I am that WA dosen't work.

There is £30 down the shitter then.

7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Here we go again on: 2009 November 27, 17:38:07
I just installed WA (from a disc) Since then my vanilla game is unplayable. No icons appear for my Sims and I have no means of controlling them. Other controls are also corrupted. I cannot change family. I cannot even exit without the puter hanging and hanging. I have twice had to reboot to get out.

I cannot claim to be surprised by EA's latest triumph. The puter is a mac (put the pitchforks down please) which far exceeds all technical requirements.

Oh for the days of Aspyr. I'd much rather wait a few months for a properly debugged and ported game than live with this unplayable shite.

I really hate to post this but some issues are known

9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Medics predicting gender of larvae? on: 2009 August 09, 20:34:29
Do you have to use the fertility treatment reward to get twins?

I do hope so. I was horribly plagued with the buggers in S2 and it has not so far occurred spontaneously in S3. May that situation long continue.

But does it happen by itself?

10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.3 Released on: 2009 July 30, 19:58:56
Whatever else the damn patch does it also caused the mac to kernel panic, crash and need a reboot.

JM is right about the launcher, the thing sucks.

11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Death at a Birthday Party on: 2009 July 30, 19:17:01
Cheesy Reminds me of the lines in the John Cooper-Clarke poem "Twat"

"Like a death at a birthday party you ruin all the fun
Like a sucked and spat-out smartie you're no use to anyone"

12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Choosing Sex of Babies on: 2009 July 24, 20:27:49
I am not convinced at all. I have a legacy family in the 17th gen and all they have ever had is boys. Try as I might to eat watermelon it makes no difference. Still no girls.

13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Medics predicting gender of larvae? on: 2009 July 23, 19:43:31
The medical advice thing does seem to be useful in pregnancy. Helps to give the option to choose the traits from a happy pregnancy.

All would be perfect if only choosing the traits wasn't so horribly borked.

14  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Medics predicting gender of larvae? on: 2009 July 21, 17:27:37
Dang! There goes that theory then.

I'm a fuckwit.

15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Medics predicting gender of larvae? on: 2009 July 20, 20:56:23
Hah the answer just dawned on me like a ton of bricks.

This works with Sims who have the "Family Orientated: trait in the medical career. For some reason not with predicting grandkids but certainly their own kids

Duh. Me stupid.

16  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: They just wont die! on: 2009 July 20, 20:52:36
You can't kill them off by starvation if they have the unlucky trait either. In fact you can't deliberately kill them in any way if they are unlucky.

Oh der ironics!

17  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Smelly Undead Traffic Jam Outside Science Facility on: 2009 July 19, 19:51:07
I had a stuck burglar complete with an endlessly yawping burglar alarm on my bloody legacy lot.

Moveobjects on fixed it eventually but I did go into a bit of a panic.

18  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Useful glitches? on: 2009 July 19, 19:30:41
I tested this and the exact same thing ( the TV skill gain glitch) happens with gardening and fishing skills. I couldn't get it to do two skills at the same time though.

19  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: I know this bug has been reported before. In addition on: 2009 July 18, 17:50:04
If you look above to earlier in the thread Jelnedra, A senator on MATY, told me this was a game feature and not a function of awesomemod. Surely this person knew their stuff.

20  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: I know this bug has been reported before. In addition on: 2009 July 18, 17:36:09
I don't have awesomemod. I just cannot work out how to install it even with the framework. The files show up but nothing changes.

testingcheats is definitely switched on.

21  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: I know this bug has been reported before. In addition on: 2009 July 18, 17:16:47
Sorry to commit the heinous netcrime of necromancy but the reset cheat code just dosen't seem to work for me. I can open the console with no problems (I often use moveobjects on/off with it) but nothing happens when I use resetsim (first name last name etc)

This is more than a bit annoying as I am constantly suffering the missing trait glitch and most of my born in game sims end up with only four traits.

Some cheat codes always were a bit dodgy on the mac. Boolprop was unreliable at best and some things never worked properly.

This is a reasonably powerful machine, well within spec. Any ideas?

22  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Useful glitches? on: 2009 July 17, 20:13:26
Thus far I have only found one. Very reminiscent of the old S2 potty-training glitch the cooking skill glitch is pretty useful.

You need your Sim to be at a minimum a teen (it works with all ages over teen) with at least one cooking skill point to exploit this. Have your Sim watch the cooking channel on the TV. Get another Sim to use the same TV to play a video game on whilst your Sim is watching the TV.

The cooking skill gain sticks and dosen't quit until the skill maxes out. It dosen't affect other skill-building activities at all/

Are there any other useful glitches?

23  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Medics predicting gender of larvae? on: 2009 July 13, 21:27:07
Does this only work in certain circumstances? My top-level medical Sim never got the interaction to predict the gender of his daughter's brat but was able to predict the gender of all his own kids and will occasionally do it for a random pregnant townie.

Odd.

24  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Glitches 101. The Criminal Career. A compendium of Fail. on: 2009 July 13, 21:11:32
This fix works. Go to edit town and click on the criminal warehouse lot. Enter build/buy mode, click on the warehouse and delete it.

Now go to community lots/objects (located in build mode) and replace it. Don't panic when the stupid game tells you "You cannot intersect other objects" just use good old moveobjects on to place the building.

Now save your game. Re-enter as usual and the problem is fixed.

25  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: I don't want your goddam crappy macaroni and cheese! on: 2009 July 12, 20:12:03
I have never seen that. I do not do birthday parties.
