Yes, I wondered this too.

That's normal. RTFT.

Around 1am the 'story mode' routines run, and Awesomemod tries to sanitize them so they're not too stupid. This is still very CPU intensive -- several seconds delay on fast PCs, and up to minutes for slow PCs.

It's weird though - this has started happening to me recently, like the past 2 days or so, but never before that.
78  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sim-painted portraits are a red, grainy mess on: 2009 June 21, 18:40:31
Several of my Sims have had paintings consistently come out with a mosaic effect on them, which looks stupid and virtually unrecognisable. Sometimes they would come out looking normal, but not very often.
79  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Bug? Bulldoze or Place Copy removes Beautiful Vista on: 2009 June 21, 15:05:22
I have just come across this bug too. I downloaded a 60x60 mansion, which my Sim family just moved into (had to save up the §370,000 first!).
It's placed on the only 60x60 lot, up near the Landgraab mansion. I know for a fact that the lot should give a beautiful vista/lot buff, because I've built on there before with a different household.

I have done the Culinary career at least 3 times with different Sims, and every time they have gotten both the food processor and fridge. When you reach the correct rank, you get a prompt about it the same way you do with the fridge, straight after you finish work and get the promotion prompt.

However, I have only gotten 1 Sim to the Thief level 10 rank, and he didn't get the fox statue. Maybe it's luck of the draw, or possibly a bug (this was pre-Awesomemod by the way).

The only thing my level 10 Scientist can do when she "Experiments On" something is make it give a good mood to people who walk by.  I have tried it on the fridge and the stupid Gnome that moves around.
That is probably the single most awesome ability in the game, however: It takes awhile to do, but you can make it so every item in the room grants a useful buff, creating a Room of Ultimate Power.

Sorry to do a minor threadjack, but is there a way to stop the damn aura once you get a good experiment? I haven't tried since I got Awesomemod, does that stop it at all?

I remember early on in the game, I had a few items with positive mood boosters on them, and it was driving me crazy!

Creepy see-through maid uniform (She just turned up like this one day. No idea why):

Scroll wheel mice are incredibly cheap - I have seen basic ones go for about £3-4 in PCWorld.

I think that if you can afford the game (*ahem* Wink) and afford the computer the play it on, then a cheapo mouse should not be a problem.
Things like that should not be a roadblock when you are trying to improve the game as you have been. If people are unwilling to pay for a mouse with a scroll wheel they don't have to use your mod, do they?

In conclusion - Sod 'em!
84  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Blank Inventory Slot & Gem Stacking on: 2009 June 17, 09:14:00
Right, thanks for the info.

Edit: Yaaay, it worked. I thought it hadn't at first, because the blank box was still there. But when I put something into my inventory, it took the place of the blank box Smiley
85  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Blank Inventory Slot & Gem Stacking on: 2009 June 17, 08:29:40
Apologies if this problem has been discussed before, but I used the search function and found nothing.

Recently, my Sim has been searching a lot for bugs and rocks/gems. I had a lot of them in my inventory, and after donating all the bugs to the Science Lab, I started selling the rocks/gems manually. That's when I noticed this:

I have a blank box in my inventory. It has no name when I hover over it, and it cannot be dragged or interacted with in any way.

This morning I started up the game again, and noticed it was still there, but ignored it for the moment. I went out collecting rocks and gems again, and that was when I noticed that all the gems were stacking together, behind this blank icon:

I cannot move the stack at all, I can only sell the gems individually.

I am running the latest version of Awesomemod, I don't know if that could be anything to do with it.

Has anyone encountered this before?

I haven't figured out if this is a glitch or what, but my Sim is now level 10 in Handyness, and he still can't upgrade this:

I have found it a pain to get my Sims slim, and stay slim. And it seems more than just overeating or what have you, because sometimes it will only take one meal to turn them from skinny back to fat.

Am I the only person who gets supremely annoyed by reading a thread title that suggests it is offering information, only to find out it is someone requesting information?  Bah.  Call it "Wanted - A Novel Writing Guide" or something. </grumpy>

It is supposed to be a guide, but I need information to fill it in!
Why don't you contribute to it and then it would be a guide rather than a request for information.

90  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: How exactly can you switch households, bork or no? on: 2009 June 08, 09:37:17
I don't know if this is related to changing households, but I expect it is:

I was playing a Sim, who had convinced a townie to dump her boyfriend and 'Go Steady' with him.
But then I tried making a new Sim and changing households, and I got talking with the same townie. When I asked if she was single she said she was in a relationship with the boyfriend I made her dump with the other Sim.

So it seems like relationships reset if you change houses. At least, they seem to if the girl/boyfriend has not moved into the household.

Just another nail in the coffin for this so-called open town.

Warez-BB.org has updated the post with the Megafile broken up into 4 files. Unfortunately it still uses Rapidshare so you have to wait ages between downloads.
