I just tried using Pets with no mods, and it worked fine. I am running a handful of 'official' CC, AM, and NRAAS Mastercontroller (purely to fix Mixologists in bars when they stop doing their jobs!). I'll try removing NRAAS and see if that's the culprit.
27  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2011 October 19, 08:56:38
I've started to grow a little bored with Sims, so I thought I would try installing Pets to see if it works with AM (and if it doesn't, I'm not bothered at the moment). Although the game started up with no critical mimatch errors, and the new world loaded up fine, I cannot use the Create a Household function. I click the button, and it make a click sound, but then nothing happens. I can still place pre-created sims in houses, and they seem to play fine, but I cannot create any new households.
28  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2011 October 18, 10:12:39
Just a quick heads up - The Pets EP is starting to appear on Arrrr websites. Haven't grabbed it yet, but I assume it's almost a certainty that it'll not work with AM straight away.
29  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Updater (v2.6.1 - Updated 06/14/2011) on: 2011 June 26, 10:02:16
Is there a problem with the hosting again?
I only ask because I am getting an error code 9 when trying to run the Updater, but it was working this morning.
30  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: .Package Files on Different Drive on: 2011 April 07, 15:23:42
I installed my game (and all packs and ep's) on my D drive, then all the custom in my documents on my C drive, and it works just fine.

Yeeeeeah, but the problem I have is that I don't have the space on my C:\ drive for CC, so I would need to place the on another drive, but I don't know if there is a way to tell the game where I've installed them.

EDIT:: Right, I think I might have found a solution. I didn't know you could tell Windows where you want the Documents folder to be - I knew you could go and create one, but you can tell Windows where it is and it will move everything over there, and that will be the new, official Documents folder.
I just did this, then tried loading up Fallout: New Vegas, whose save files were auto-moved into the new Documents folder, and it found the save files fine. Also, I saved and the save file went into the new Documents folder.

I cannot test the Sims 3 yet, but hopefully now the folder is 'official' it shouldn't be a problem.
31  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: .Package Files on Different Drive on: 2011 April 07, 15:14:28
It would be better to look at your setup as a whole than to worry about one game.  Here's a good article to get you started.

I'm not entirely sure what you are getting at with the guide - I did all of those steps as a matter of course as soon as I had installed Win7.
The problem I am facing is that I install all of my games and applications to a 2TB 6gb/s SATA drive, leaving the SSD for boot (and maybe some games in the future if they need a fast read/write, but I can run Crysis 2 on max settings with no trouble so I doubt that will ever come up).

However, all of the guides I find for installing Sims 3 mods tell me to put them in my Documents folder on the C:\ drive, which of course would mean taking up lots of space on the SSD.
I want to know if there is a way I can tell the game where I have placed the mods, so I can put them on my 2TB drive and direct the game to run them from there.

It used to be the norm to place mods for Sims 3 in the game's installation directory, but it sounds like that has changed since I have been away.
32  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / .Package Files on Different Drive on: 2011 April 07, 14:35:15
Lets get this out of the way - I am a durrr-brain!
I have been away from TS3 for about a year, and all my knowledge about the ins-and-outs of mod-management has gone!

I recently built a new PC, and am using a small capacity SSD for the boot. The problem is, this drive is labelled C:\ for obvious reasons.
I won't have enough space on the drive for installing mods, so can I put them somewhere else and still get them to work?

I tried searching - both on here and google - but it's a rather broad set of search terms, and therefore hard to find an answer.

33  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Riverview-specific rabbit hole buildings vanished with 2.3. on: 2010 June 26, 11:52:47
Hmmm, well, I seem to have *mostly* fixed this issue. I completely removed all traces of Riverview from My Documents and Program Files, then decrapified and reinstalled it with the launcher. I then moved (not copied) the riverview.world file from Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\InstalledWorlds and put it in Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\GameData\Shared\NonPackaged\Worlds. The saves are working, and all the rabbitholes are showing up, but they have weird names like "World/Riverview/LotName:Cemetary".
34  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Riverview-specific rabbit hole buildings vanished with 2.3. on: 2010 June 22, 22:24:36
I actually went into the town and manually placed all of the missing rabbitholes. But of course as soon as I exited the game my saves vanished and I lost it all :/
35  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Riverview-specific rabbit hole buildings vanished with 2.3. on: 2010 June 22, 19:52:37
I hope I don't get shouted down for necroposting. I found this thread, and I have the exact same issue, but the fixes listed didn't work for me.

I just did a clean install of S3/WA/HELS/Amb., fully updated, and decrapified all my CC before installing it using the launcher. All the CC is showing up in game, including Riverview. The problem is, some of the commercial buildings aren't!
So far I am missing City Hall, Military Base, Hospital, Spa, Science building, and the 'Corporate Towers'. I do not know if any others are missing, as I don't play Riverview all that much.
The lots are still there, and named appropriately. Also, the outdoor dressing (trees, paths, fences/hedges, flowers etc.) are all still there, just the buildings themselves are missing. Also, they aren't selectable when in map view (like parks or other buildings such as the Gym).

I had this problem before I reinstalled, as well as other problems (very long load times, and random black screens/black screen when Alt-Tabbing). I seems all of these problems have been fixed, except for Riverview.

I cannot think what else to try, other than just no using Riverview.

Edit:: Also, I think that my saves aren't working with Riverview. I saved once manually, and once with AM's autosave, and neither show up in the main menu. I then started a new game in Sunset Valley and saved, and that shows up.

It certainly doesn't look like a hat/headgaear. It looks like the Simbot head, clipping inside this guy's head. Here's a shot of the back:

37  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Simbots are awesome on: 2010 June 06, 18:50:10
I wonder if this has anything to do with Simbots. Either that, or TERMINATORS!!

I also saw that the papergirl had something metallic looking on her face, but no where near as obvious as this guy.
38  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions and SURPRISE! - CTDs on: 2010 June 06, 13:42:57
I've got a brand new install of S3, with HELS and Ambitions. The only content I have installed is official EA store stuff, via a modified launcher (using the instructions on this site).
I have had a few crashes, not too many (maybe half a dozen in the 15 or so hours play time). However, I recently had my Sim visit Egypt. I have a save from before I travelled, and one from after. So far, my game has crashed 3 times since visiting Egypt, all within about 5 minutes of loading up the new new area. I have done the same thing each time: Travelled to Egypt, gone to the market, and bought loads of stuff (books, cameras, food etc.) It's just a straight CTD - no errors - and it happens suddenly (no slowdown in game, and the hard drive isn't working any harder). It's like I just Alt-F4'd out. My DEP settings are the default to Windows (running Win 7 x64 by the way).

I'll try using CFF Explorer and changing the settings, see if that helps.

Edit: Since I used CFF Explorer, I have had no CTDs at all.
39  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: OMG The earthquake scared me so bad... on: 2010 June 06, 08:17:28
I have been having fun with the Detonate feature. I don't know how, but I managed to take out the entire scrap yard with one explosion! I set it on the tall narrow pile, and it blew up everything: All the piles, the cars, the furniture in the building, everything!

Afterwards, I noticed a grave 'plaque' on the floor by the building. Was that always there, or did I kill someone?
40  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Simbots are awesome on: 2010 June 06, 08:11:34
I can confirm that this Smash option is real for Simbots. You can buy a Simbot with Lifetime Reward points (around 60,000 to 70,000 I think) or when you become a level 10 inventor, you get a 'quest' arc that you can follow, and if you complete it you can then craft them.

It's a bit of a shoehorned-in feature, because once you make a Simbot they become your Son or Daughter. I was hoping they might have been more like the robot servants like in Sims 2, but they are just like fully functioning Sims, albeit with a few tweaks (appearance, obviously. Also the 'Smash' option. Also the need bars have different, more robot-y names, and no bladder bar).

I made one just to see how it looked, then moved her out about a day later. Now the crazy metallic bitch keeps turning up and standing in my garden for hours at a time, and the relationship bar is really hard to get up (plus it seems to reset as soon as they leave).
41  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patching issues... *[solved]* on: 2010 February 10, 14:22:57
Try NOT INSTALLING DODGY FILES. Wipe it all, reinstall clean, and repatch. Quit fucking with the files.

Before I started using AM, the only way around the CD-check was to use a cracked .exe and .dll file.
Strangely enough, all the previous updates have worked with these files, it's just the latest patch I've had trouble with.
42  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patching issues... *[solved]* on: 2010 February 10, 13:14:28
I am having a problem patching to the latest version of S3/WA/HELS
WA installed fine, no problems there. But the base game and HELS will not update.
I got the patches that correspond to my region (2 for Base and WA, 1 for HELS).
The base game gets to 97% and then stops with the message "Invalid File Found". The last file I see on the updater is TSLHost.dll
HELS does exactly the same thing - 97%, "Invalid File Found" and TSLHost.dll being the last file.

I have tried downloading a TSLHost.dll from MATY, but it didn't work. I also tried deleting the file, in the hopes that the updater would put it's own version in there when it updated, but it doesn't, it just gives a "File Not Found" message.

Can anyone suggest a way of getting round this problem?

Edit:: Ignore all of that Smiley
I got the TSLHost.dll file from the ISO file and used that, patched no problems.

Edit 2:: Damn! It worked fine for HELS, but the file from the base game DVD doesn't work. The only 'original' (ie non-cracked) TSLHost.dll file I have for the base game is from 1.2.7, which also doesn't work.

Does anyone have an original file post-1.9 update, that you could upload for me?
43  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.8/2.3 plus Create a World Released on: 2009 December 30, 12:23:19
Just thought I would add my name to the list of people having trouble installing any sims3pack files.
I bought myself a bigger hard drive, I installed Windows 7, and I'm now in the process of installing all of my games etc.
I installed Sims 3 (the Razor version), updated to 1.7x, installed WA, patched WA and then patched Sims 3 to the latest version. In retrospect, If I'd checked this site first, I would've avoided the latest patch.

I grabbed the Downloads folder from my old hard drive (Sims 3 is still installed over there) and put it in my new Downloads folder. I tried to installed them, and although they all said they installed successfully, I noticed barely any of them showed up in the Installed Content section of the launcher (all that showed up is some LianaSims custom clothing, and some of the extras from Riverview [the overalls and water tower]) The LianaSims clothing shows up in game, but not nothing else.

I have tried adjusting my Resource.cfg file, I moved my dcdb0.dbc file, and tried unpacking the Sims3Pack files with Delphy's tool, and placing the new .package files into my mods/packages folder. Nothing has worked so far. Some of my mods work (nointro, body sliders) and some don't show up (Realism Contacts for example).

As far as I know, I haven't missed any steps out, but please tell me if I have.

Edit - Just FYI, I haven't downloaded anything from EA since I reinstalled in Win7, and I have the nav.bin file.
44  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Error Code 16 on Patched Game on: 2009 November 27, 08:39:45
I've gotten error codes 12, 13 and 16 with the patched game, no mods or CC other than official stuff, both on vacation and in Sunset Valley.

I found the only possible fix is to go into Edit Town mode, sit the for a coupleo f seconds, then Return to Game. When it asks to save or continue, tell it to save. It should save fine, then you can either risk it and continue playing (I found that the game is more likely to crash after that successful save), or quit out and restart the game.
45  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Error Code 16 on Patched Game on: 2009 November 23, 19:59:49
I've just gotten the Error Code 16 problem. I am on vacation in France, and it's the first time I have gotten that error.
46  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Lifetime Rewards and Food Spoiling on: 2009 November 23, 02:38:54
I am running the game without CC (other than official stuff), so if it bugs out for me, it's got to be either a WA or patch bug.
I can say for certain that the food spoiling is a problem. It does indeed spoil very quickly.

However, I have gotten Meditative Trance, and it does seem to work. It cut my sleep times down quite a bit (maybe 6 hours sleep from almost empty bar to completely rested, on a 8-rated bed).

I haven't fully tried the No Bills Ever reward, but from what I've seen it seems to work. Definitely one to ignore until you have all the important one though - and by that time you've probably made so much money for your Sims that bill won't be a problem.
47  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Plants Not Growing/Maturing on: 2009 November 22, 21:13:57
Yeah, I did notice that new fertilise option, and started using it a lot on my save. I am fairly certain it did use up stuff from my inventory (I had over 100 tomatoes to start with and it went down to under 80 once I'd finished fertilising).

However, I have started a new save, with no CC on it other than the official stuff. I have no had any problems so far with growth rates. The only diference (other than no CC) is that my Sim hasn't got the Green Thumb trait (the one you choose when creating the sim). Perhaps something is amiss with that.

Actually, thinking about it, I haven't seen the 'fertilise with best' option on this new Sim. Maybe it's tied into the Green Thumb trait.

Edit:
Nope, sorry, I do have that fertilise option on a Sim without the Green Thumb trait. I haven't used it yet thought.
48  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Plants Not Growing/Maturing on: 2009 November 22, 10:26:34
This sounds normal. I don't imagine "watching plants grow" was ever meant to be interesting.

Really? Do you really think it sounds normal, or are you just having a laugh?
Because no weeds, no growth, no wilting, and no harvest don't sound normal to me.
It's now been over 10 in game days with no change in growth. I've started a brand new sim, without any mods or CC other than the official stuff.

So far, the only bug I've encountered is that the sound occasionally stops working for a while, then all the sounds play at once, then it goes quite, and repeats the process. The only way to stop it is to quit out and re-enter. I can only imagine it's either a patch or WA bug.
49  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Plants Not Growing/Maturing on: 2009 November 22, 09:52:33
Sorry, I meant to say that I have indeed installed WA.
50  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Plants Not Growing/Maturing on: 2009 November 22, 09:27:20
Hello. I have noticed a problem with plants I have planted in my lot. They seem to be either not growing, or growing very slowly.
I planted some onions, some rare and special seeds I found around town, and some lettuce.
The onions seem to be stuck at 'growing' (the stage before 'mature'. Not a whole plant yet). The rare and special seeds are still on 'planted' after 5 days. The lettuce went to 'growing' after 1 day. None of the plants get weeds, nor do they wither if I don't water them.
My sim has maxxed gardening, has completed all the opportunities (so he can now plant Omni plants), and has finished all the 'tasks', other than the one to harvest 75 Perfect fruit & veg.

Now, I know there could be a chance that one of my CC is messing it up, but I have quite a lot, and I thought it best to ask if it's a known problem before I give up and abandon the game (going through over 1000 .package files is just not going to happen! Plus with all the trouble I had with the 'blue pools' bug, any more testing is just not going to happen).

So, is it a known problem? Any idea of a solution that doesn't involve several days of loading screens and boredom?
