setting $VeryHigh

       prop $ConfigGroup RenderSimTextureSizes "2048, 2048, 512, 128"
       prop $ConfigGroup RenderSimUseSpecular  "1, 1, 1, 1"
        prop $ConfigGroup CASLightMapWidth 1024
        prop $ConfigGroup CASLightMapFilteringEnabled true
        prop $ConfigGroup CASSinglePassShaderEnabled false
        prop $ConfigGroup CASSimpleHairShaderEnabled false
       prop $ConfigGroup CASRenderTargetSize  2048
      prop $ConfigGroup MinSimLOD 0
   prop $ConfigGroup ActiveLODLimit 200
if ($isMac)
   if (match("${cardVendor}", "ATI"))
           prop $ConfigGroup CASLightMapFilteringEnabled false
           prop $ConfigGroup CASSinglePassShaderEnabled true
   endif

If we look at the Very High setting above:

Quote
        prop $ConfigGroup CASLightMapWidth 1024
        prop $ConfigGroup CASLightMapFilteringEnabled true
        prop $ConfigGroup CASSinglePassShaderEnabled false
        prop $ConfigGroup CASSimpleHairShaderEnabled false
       prop $ConfigGroup CASRenderTargetSize  2048

There's CAS word in it, Does it mean only applied in CAS only?
And in the real game, those setting above is disabled.

Quote
   if (match("${cardVendor}", "ATI"))
           prop $ConfigGroup CASLightMapFilteringEnabled false
           prop $ConfigGroup CASSinglePassShaderEnabled true

Does it mean the ATI card doesn't support "CASLightMapFilteringEnabled". What it means with Light Map Filtering? Is it bad to be disabled?
I have ATI Radeon 4850, does it mean nVidia card better?

Wow, The different is huge.

Many people said TS3 is a hunger of resources game, and many people already complain about the slowness and low framerate.

I can't iimagine if the lighting and texture in CAS applied in the game. It will be very very slow....for many people who has slow computer.

Do you think the lighting and texture setting is broken? Like Story Progression option?

May be someone need to take a look and fix it.
53  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Extreme difficulty in killing sims by fire? on: 2009 June 05, 17:44:59
It's easy to kill sims by fire or drowning him in swimming pool. Here's the trick:

Kill by fire:
Make a small room 2x3 or 3x3. Put fireplace inside, covered the floor by rugs (including at fireplace too), a sofa and a door too. Ask sims to enter the room and then remove the door, so he can't go out anymore. Set the fire at fireplace and ask sims to take a nap on sofa. Set the timer to fastest and wait the fireplace burn the rugs. Since all room covered by rugs, the fire will spreading very fast covered all over the room and those unlucky sims will trapped inside the fire. He will soon die and became a cool ghost or may be a hot ghost.

Kill by water/swimming pool:
Make a swimming pool (a large one is better), and a small room with a door. Don't put any sofa or bed in that room, since we want his energy meter drop near zero. Ask him to enter and remove the door. Wait for sometime until the energy bar near zero, may be 1%-5% (lower is better). Don't allow him to sleep on floor. After than, put the door, ask him to enter the swimming pool. At the center of swimming pool if you can, and always delete the "get out swimming pool interaction icon", until he very exhausted and the drowning in the swimming pool. The lower his energy bar, the faster he drown.

I haven't try to kill my sims by electricity. So I don't know the trick. Can someone share the trick?
54  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Might be helpfull for people with overheating issues. Frame rate limiter on: 2009 June 05, 17:26:13
This FPS limiter is very useful. I solve the overheat problem with TS3, the game run very smooth and rarely to crash now. I made a batch file for it.

I'm very recommend to use this program as soon as possible. Since overheat can break your video card, or have short lifetime.

Does anyone know FPS limiter work for DirectX 10 games?

I'm using Radeon 4850, I install the latest driver and I don't have any problem with AA. I set the smoothness (in game setting) at medium and it work fine.

I never use turn on AA in Catalyst CC, since many game has conflict with it. The Sims 3 also doesn't support adaptive AA.
