I think what you want to do is actually edit the sims which means you have to have the right options activated.

To do this you may want to read the readme file with the full details of the mod. This is found in the same place you got the original download.

Kind regards

Just so you know I found this was just a problem with the new game. It was something I encountered alot in Twinbrook before the awesome mod was being updated. So I think that this was a general EA problem not an awesome problem.

What I am not getting with this, is that you do not seem to have used the awesome mod, so your saved games can not have been altered.

So good news you may not be fucked!

However, one of the mods you had would seem to have been outdated by the patch you will need to go through all your installed items. I had this problem and it turned out to be the Magic skill I downloaded from MTS2 luckily I only had one save where I used that mod. But when I tried loading anything its simple presence in the folders was enough to crash my games

OK I will probably sound stupid with this again. But where is the test file? IS it just the one on the shiney post, just not with things added. Or is it in a forum for VIP members only? Or am I blind?

Morriganrant

If you you had clicked on the 8.12 you would have realised there are only release notes and no download buttons. It is not beyond most people who post on the internet forums here to actually click the link at the bottom of their drivers page. Unfortunately, I can not magically reconstitute the correct driver from a page with no downloads.

I have the same card as you actually, the thing with me is it only crashes after giving me the error code 13 for saving. But this is just a recent thing, Figured out I can usually get 1 or 2 saves without that error. But it does seem to pop up after I more than one sim in my active house now. Though in fairness it may also have been the length of time I was playing....

I like this will get right to setting up my legacy family right now. Hopefully by then I will be able to find a solution to this dang code 13 saving error. I am thinking it may just be as a result of moving lots so manytimes and having bulldosed things too......... hmmm

The only query I have really si about the not moving in a rich sim. Well in Sunset valley this would rule out Stiles McGarth who barely comes with any money when you marry him. As he lives in a big house with like 6 other people. It just seems a little strange is all. As it does not always indicate someone who will move in large funds really.

The other thing is in the original Legacy you had to wait one week to move someone in, is that the same now?

Ok so here is something interesting. I managed to start a new family. While my sim is single I am not experiencing these problems. What I may do is stay with this and see if it related the number of sims I am playing or something or if I somehow managed to glitch that initial neighbourhood somehow.

Maybe as well if I save my family and start a new neighbourhood with them. Is it possible to glitch your neighbourhood to that extent? That it causes this kind of a crash?

The intereting thing with this is that I am having the same problem and am also using the latest version of ATI graphics cards drivers.

Looking at the spore thread here it would appear the advice then was to roll back from the 9.- series to the 8.12 update. Saying there seemed to be an issue with this new set of drivers.

Unfortunately I can no longer get 8.12 Sad

I am just wondering if this might be more an ATI issue. Another thing I noticed is this only started happening to me when I had 4 controllable sims in one house, which also happens to be the time they moved out of Maxis houses into downloaded ones.

I remember the old problems that we used to have with Nvadia cards with TS2 and in a way this feels similar. The same kind of thing is happening each time. It is after I have a bigger family, it came up after an age transition and is not going away after that.

Another factor with this is I have had this game since the 5th and this only really happened yesterday. I have played for hours at a time to no ill effect now all of a sudden Save Error Code 13 rears its head and now my game does that all the time and crashes!

I have even reduced the quality of my graphics to no avail.

My embarrassing update now is that i seem to have blown part of my graphics card I can still play world of warcraft, but not Age of Conan which has a similar spec as Sims 3. So I am going to replace it on my way.

Discovered this after just installing Sims 3 again and then realising about a couple of minutes of game play it still shut down. Oh well. Live and learn.

Thanks to the people who set my mind at ease about downloading houses etc! LOL. But TS2 made me paranoid about that!
11  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD & SCRIPT HACKS: CRASH ISSUES THREAD on: 2009 June 08, 02:21:30
Ok.

I reinstalled the game. Redownloaded some things including the houses previously downloaded.

Tried taking things out putting them in again and the adding things etc. This does not have appeared to have worked it is now 3am, where I am anyway, so am thinking I will try reinstalling with no mods no custom content etc and see if it still crashes, if it does then it is more than likely my graphics card that is buggered! lol. Will let you know what has happened.

I am just wondering if this could be related to having downloaded houses? As I remember you got all kinds of crap when you downloaded house and used the standard installer with TS2. Could a similar thing be happening here? I have no idea how things get installed with this thing you see, so is that possible maybe?
