Yes, the motive drop is crazy! It happened to me with a horse ... every time I would send the horse off lot to anywhere it's motives would drop very quickly. I have been playing with AM removed for about a sim week now and all the animals can leave the lot with worrying about them getting taken by the social worker or whatever it is that comes to take them.

I should say that I didn't play with AM for very long, because my stupid pets kept getting taken away because I wasn't realizing what was happening, till my horse that had all high motives got taken away when I sent him to the equestrian park. I had sent my sim over there to make him happy again but she was at work and by the time she got there it was too late.  Grin

Also I was playing one of the pre-made families the Marshall family and I noticed I could not send both adults to work at the same time, every time I would try to send the husband or wife to work and the other was already there, the one I was trying to send just kinda dropped the que. He/she would call the cab or the family vehicle but it would just drop out of the que. Not sure what was going on, I thought maybe it was because they had a fowl but when the horse grew up, they still couldn't leave the house at the same time.  Huh

So I finally used my "free" sim points that I got with the base game and WA, here is the Romanza (Wedding) Full Set, it's untouched:

3  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 4.0.87 (AMB) TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 15, 19:35:41
Don't know if this is an AM fail or WA is completely screwed but I just finished a vacation and my sims were taking forever to do simple tasks. I realized that the reason they would take forever would be because they would suddenly drop their queue if I switched over to other sims within the family. It continued to occur back on the home lot as well. Also, the foreigners would ignore their motives and I had some die from hungry if my active family didn't provide them with food. Excavating is borked too with a route fail.

On another note: I remember being able to stock fishing ponds in the home community with fish. Was it not possible to do the same on vaca lots? I tried but the fish disappeared.

I have not had this problem, my firefighter works fine. The first job he got after I installed the newest AM kinda glitched, the little tracker that pops up and tells you what you still have to do didn't pop up, but it didn't prevent him from putting out the fire or rescuing the sims inside. I haven't had this happen again, so it seems to be working fine for me.

If you disable Supreme Commander, can you then uninstall AwesomeMod? I'm not planning on doing so anytime soon, but it would be good to know.

From Pescado's warning, it would appear not.  I suspect, from a very uneducated point of view, that Supreme Commander alters game files in some way that would cause VBTs if AwesomeMod were no longer present.

Quote
WARNING!
Supreme Commander is experimental and permanent! Once you turn it on, uninstalling AwesomeMod may destroy your neighborhood! Once you start down the path of the Dark Side, forever will it dominate your destiny.

(bolding mine)

I think as long as you don't use Supreme Commander AND SAVE you can uninstall just fine. I used Supreme Commander in one neighborhood, I quit and saved,  I started having problems with CTD, I took awesomemod out and real life called ..... anyway I started the game (loaded hood previously saved with Supreme Commander enabled)....... let's just say it wasn't pretty. Once you use the supreme commander, and save, it isn't a good idea to take it out, it's a VBT.

It is fixed as I didn't save after the bad load and things seem to be working fine, but as the RTFM states there is no going back.

There is a patch out on the official site: http://www.thesims3.com/game/patches

Complete list of changes:

    * Addresses some issues with Speed 2 and 3 moving too slowly. Some machines will have better results when using Speed 2 and 3 now.
    * Fix to story progression on/off selection toggle.
    * Fix for a possible crash with audio code.
    * Fix for babysitter routing off lots with babies.
    * Addresses some issues with Vsync and refresh rate problems.
    * Addresses some issues with DVD authentication errors and drive compatibility on startup.
    * This update deals with some issues on Mac systems that can crash the game while connecting to AFP servers.
    * Fix for a freeze that can occur when Sims attempt to clean out bad food from the fridge.

Has anyone tried using the patch with Awesomemod? I was hoping that they were going to address more issues in this patch. I think I'm going to pass of this right now, as Awesomemod fixes story progression and adds awesome other features as well.
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Acquaintances going boom from contacts? on: 2009 June 23, 02:31:06
I had this happen too. I am not sure if it is a feature or not, it has only happened once that I have noticed. Sim A disappears from Sim B's relationship panel, even tho Sim B is still alive and living in the hood.

That was a useless post, as I didn't offer any solution or reason .... but the Sims 3 lacks solution or reason in most cases.
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Heartbreaker LTW question on: 2009 June 22, 00:12:38
Speaking of confusing LTWs, I've been playing the Shallow family in Riverview. Kurt, the eldest, is a widow according to his bio and he has the gold digger LTW. In the Riverview graveyard, there is a Sasha Shallow; I thought she was Kurt's dead wife and so sent him there every night to get a glimpse of her (and it took over a sim week to finally get a look at her, grr.) Anyway, it seems that either the relationship is borked or she was related to a different branch of the Shallow family because they had to be introduced and there was no LTW fulfillment, which is something that could have been brought to my attention YESTERDAY. Oh well, hopefully you will learn from my fail. Luckily, he's been putting the moves on Hannah Jones, so maybe there's time to make her leave Aiden, marry Kurt and kill her off before he kicks it.

I have the same problem, only I killed Tom the son, so that June could get her LTW and see his ghost. When he showed up... nothing. It said ex-husband when she talked to him and got no wish fulfillment. Is the unlinking at death to blame for this? I have a feeling this is an unattainable LTW. Has anyone succeeded with it?

I was able to complete this one. It was Agnes Crumplebottom, she was electrocuted, my sim was there when she died, and his LTW was fulfilled as she jumped into her urn.  Maybe the sim has to witness the death.
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Bug? Bulldoze or Place Copy removes Beautiful Vista on: 2009 June 21, 23:38:05
I built an upper floor on a house which already has the beautiful vista.
Weird thing is, when the sims are in the bedroom, the moodlet goes away, and it reappears when they go in any other room on that floor. The only difference I spotted is that the bedroom has a big panoramic window, while the bathroom and the nursery have small windows which barely let the light pass through.
I wonder what this could mean.

I have noticed this too. I am building a house right now and it has beautiful vista.

There is one bathroom that is complete and decorated but has no windows, when he enters it he looses the moodlet. I have another bathroom that is not complete, it has one of those little windows, and all it has is a toilet, when he goes in that bathroom the moodlet stays.  In another room I have tried a few sizes and number of windows, I even covered the whole outside wall with windows and still no moodlet.

Windows seem to matter but I am not sure if the size of the window does.  I think it may be how many windows, and maybe how big the room is compared to how many windows there are. In the bedroom he didn't get the moodlet until I added the last window, and when I take it away he looses it. I tried with big windows and little ones, it doesn't seem to matter as long as there are 5 windows, or 4 windows and a door leading to outside.

Anyone know how to make the quality of a plant worse? I had a sim get an opportunity to bring 10 bad apples to work, but when he planted the bad apple, it became of very nice quality. Probably due to the fact that he has the green thumb trait and/or level 10 gardening skill.

I was finally able to complete this challenge, my sim got it a few times and could not grow "bad" apples, he's a green thumb and level 10 gardener too. I had some omni plant seeds and planted them one of them was of "putrid" quality and another was "horrifying", so I feed them some "very nice" apples, when I harvested it I got apples of "bad" and "foul" quality, it took 2 harvests but he had 10 "bad" or worse apples.
11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Adoption/Social Service on: 2009 June 13, 08:19:10
If you weren't talking about the Sims, all this stalking of children to schools and following them home could really be taken out of context horribly LOL. Tongue

I was thinking the same thing during this "experiment", and when typing my "results". I had my sim going house to house looking into windows, staking out central park and the school ... he really shoulda been arrested!  Tongue

Update: The children have aged and are now adults, they still have no proper home, they can be called and invited over etc. I have still not found the toddlers, they are around, and every now and then they jump to the front of the relationship panel, but I have never seen them. My town is quickly dying with story progression off, aging on fast, and awesomeware installed ... only authorized babies are being born, and I have not authorized any more. No babehz for you!
12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Narcissa Vatos: Blank Favorites and Perpetual Obesity on: 2009 June 13, 03:58:24
Yes the cake, they always seem to flock for it hungry or not.  Roll Eyes  I have noticed my insane gardener sim eating stuff from his inventory when he is not hungry and has nothing else to do, he seems to really like garlic which also gives the bad breath moodlet, and he'll eat piece after piece of it, until I stop him. The first time I got a flame fruit was when he was fishing, he ate it before I could have him plant it.  I also noticed that when a sim "calls guests/everyone/house to eat" that even sims who just grabbed a plate will eat what they took and grab another plate.
13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Adoption/Social Service on: 2009 June 13, 00:04:44
From what I have seen, kids that are taken get put into other households. I had twins taken by the social worker and found one living with a neighbor just down the street, I found the other one living in a house near the beach.

Does this happen with Story Progression off as well?

Not sure. I had it "off" but that was before I had the awesomemod, so it was technically still "on".  I'll try again tonight, now that we can really turn it off.

edit:

OK just tried it with story progression off.  I made 2 toddlers and had them taken away, I was not able to find them. I had another family adopt and they got a new toddler. I tried with kids next and had them taken away.  I called one of them and invited him over then followed him home, he apparently lives in an empty lot, the other kid lives on another empty lot. I guess the toddlers live on an empty lot too. They don't seem to age, I have had it on speed 3 and fast aging and none of the kids that have been taken have grown older yet. They are all still in the relationships panel. I watched the school for a bit and did not see either kid go to school.

I think the static picture was scarier than the video...but shudder. ugh. I have that to look forward to the more kids I let them have in the game?

I'm not sure what triggers it, I have had many toddlers in my game and have only had 2 of them would go creepy like that, they've all done the same things.

You guys make me giggle  Grin

But seriously...that's damn scary  Shocked  I've just found another one on photobucket:

http://media.photobucket.com/image/sims+3+toddler+glitch/Maven2379/The%20Sims%203/Screenshot-48.jpg?o=1

Ha that's my photobucket and creepy little toddler, LOL.  She is the spawn of a fireman, I thought that was the reason she went wonky, till I searched and found other people having this issue too. She had a twin sister and the twin never had that glitch.
16  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Extreme difficulty in killing sims by fire? on: 2009 June 05, 20:04:45
My sim had the gold digger LTW- to see the ghost of his rich spouse. He decided to go after Crumplebottom, I tried fire twice it just didn't work either time, her whole kitchen needed replacing, but she never went up in flames. I had decided to just wait for her to die of old age, until stuff started to break. I had her repair the dishwasher, the trash compactor, and finally a stereo. She repaired the first two items with no problem and little skill, but got shocked by the stereo. It gave her a negative moodlet "singed" IIRC it said it would be a good idea to keep her from repairing things until this went away. I made her try again with the stereo while she still had the moodlet, it shocked her again and she died, the paper reported her death by saying she had been struck by lightning 27 times playing with a lightning rod or something.

Kaylynn Langerak looks like she is about to beat the poor kid, she was visiting my watermelon vs apples test family.

18  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Choosing Sex of Babies on: 2009 June 04, 00:31:47
So is it possible to have twins/triplets that aren't all of the same gender?  So far, I've only seen reports of all boys/all girls.  Anyone have a mixed batch?  It seems stupid to not be able to have fraternal twins.

I have not had mixed genders, but I have had what must be fraternal girl twins because they were not at all identical.

My test family for the watermelon vs apples theory, have both received the fertility treatment, and have had a few sets of multiple offspring, they have not had one set yet that are of mixed gender. I am done with the watermelon/apple thing, and I have been allowing them to eat whatever is in the fridge minus apples or watermelon, still no mixed sex multiples.
19  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Traits Cheat Sheet - Work in Progress on: 2009 June 04, 00:19:40
Trait: Frugal
CAS Description:  Frugal sims love to clip coupons to save money, relish a good deal, and hate to be wasteful.
Features:  can clip coupons out the newspaper.
Associated Interactions: idle action 'counting money'. When low on cash they can "complain about money" to other sims.
Other Notes: the coupons they clip are for random things like "Logic Volume 3: 3.14159265 for 30% off expires in 3 days". They sometimes get upset at random purchases from buy mode (my homeless sim got upset when I used his only remaining $$ to buy a bike rack and bike). When they use their coupons they get a positive moodlet that lasts for 8 hours, called "got a good deal".
20  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 June 01, 02:02:22
Has anyone looked into adoption at all? Specifically, I was wondering if you could put your own sims at the front of the adoption pool by having them taken by the social worker, like in TS2. Thanks.

I have only seen it once but I don't think it works like that anymore. Last night I was playing a family that had twin toddlers, and they were taken by the social worker. I wanted them back as they were spawn of the fireman and I wanted to test the pyromaniac trait. I switched houses and had a neighbor try to adopt, she got a new toddler girl.  I was looking through the hood and saw one of them through the neighbors window, I found the other one at another neighbors house. I cheated to get them back, all their relationships are the same, but I seemed to have borked them because they can't be aged up with the cake, only with testingcheats.
21  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Burial Grounds (Dead Girls Don't Say No) on: 2009 May 31, 02:23:28
I got the burial grounds option for my first family, it was on the trailer lot and I didn't take it. I have tried 5 times to get it to come back up and have had no luck. The meteor option came up once on the house across the street from the trailer lot, I have only moved 2 families in that house. The meteor results in a bunch of space rocks to collect and piles of ash to sweep up.
22  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Choosing Sex of Babies on: 2009 May 31, 02:04:04
I have been experimenting with apples/watermelons and it seems that they do give the chance of a certain sex being born. First I had the female sim eat nothing, I bumped up her motives by cheating, she had five children 2 boys and 3 girls. Second time I had her eat nothing but apples, both raw and made into recipes, this resulted in 5 boys. Third time the sim ate nothing but watermelon, raw and cooked into recipes, this resulted in all girls so far.

For the watermelon test, I gave the father the fertility treatment during the third pregnancy, the day after the female started showing, and they had twins. The fourth pregnancy resulted in twins also, the fifth is still in progress. All previous pregnancies were single babies. Is the number of babies determined at time of birth or time of conception?
