As always, thanks for all your work on AwesomeMod.

Donated $50.00.  Put info in notes.  Updated feminine version of title, please.
2  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: How To Get AwesomeMOD work with High-End Loft on: 2010 February 11, 19:13:55
You shouldn't move your mods, only the DLL.
I stand corrected.
3  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: How To Get AwesomeMOD work with High-End Loft on: 2010 February 11, 08:26:16
I hope I won't get sporked for this but I rather ask it here right away before I install AM. If I understood what was said here well, you only need to move the Resource file, the mods folder and that dll file thingy to the folder that contains the lasted pack.

The thing is that I never moved the dll file. I totally forgot that it excisted and that it's needed for the framework to work. It's still in my BG folder and I was able to load everything just fine. I honestly rather leave it there if I won't have any problems for it being there.

Also I would like if someone could confirm that it isn't needed to have the files in all three of the main folders but that Coconor instructed it that way to prevent confusion.
Virgali: No, it is not necessary to have the files in all three folders.  I've taken a break from the Sims recently, but it should still work the same - move your mods to the game directory that works for you.
4  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: What do you mean you can't recognize the awesomemod? on: 2010 January 17, 02:52:07
1.  AwesomeMod does not come with the framework. It must be downloaded separately.

2.  Here is a link to the thread "How To Install The Framework & AwesomeMod, which you could have easily found by searching:  http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,17454.0.html

3.  Deleting your cache files is good practice. There are 4 in the My Documents>Electronic Arts>The Sims 3 folder and they are:  compositorcache.package; scriptCache.package;simCompositorCache.package and CASPartCache.package.  You can delete all four of them, as they regenerate each time you play.
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Is it possible to uninstall sims3pack stuff with current patches? on: 2010 January 13, 03:02:55
I have a legit copy of the base game, no WA.  I am using the working launcher method to install pilfered store stuff with only a few hiccups (I can install everything except the Gothic, New Year, and New Orleans sets).  My problem comes in trying to uninstall store items, I always get a file not found error, same results with the updated launcher too.  I've looked around for a fix or a 3rd part program to do the job with no luck.  Has anyone else run into this and found a work around?
u
Bonus: since I haven't seen this addressed elsewhere, has anyone else noticed their fences are solid when they shouldn't be?  The iron fences no longer have any spaces and are totally unusable in my game.
The store items are Sims3packs stored by default in your Downloads folder.  Just open the folder and delete whatever you don't want (or, alternatively, move it to another location for safekeeping).  There is also an uninstall button in the launcher ~ I assume this is what is not working for you when you refer to the error.
6  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Loading Bar loads all the way, then nothing on: 2010 January 12, 02:37:09
Check your framework installation here:  http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,17454.0.html.

As indicated in the referenced thread, location of the framework files works differently for people; for some, installation in the base game installation directory; and for others locating them in the WA installation directory produces a positive result. You will need to see what works in your specific case. The resource.cfg should be placed into whichever directory your actual packages are located; but not within the Mods>Packages folder.

As for 3-booter & FPS Limiter, if you have the expansion installed, these should be placed in the expansion installation directory, since it is the executable from the latest installation that should be operative.

You should also clear your cache files and it would not hurt to clear your browser cache at the same time.  Additionally, do a search to make sure that there is not an old AwesomeMod copy hiding somewhere.
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.8/2.3 plus Create a World Released on: 2010 January 11, 17:08:21
The launcher (at least the base game launcher) has been installing all third party custom content just fine. The only problem is with shared store content, AFAIKT.

Don't know anything about this TSR Merlin. It will be interesting to see the reactions/opinions of others here.  As a test, try to install some store content from the Pudding Factory download thread using this program and report back.
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Merging mods to increase Performance! (Manually creating .dbc archives) on: 2010 January 11, 09:37:47
I downloaded the Fancy Fashions set that is posted here and ran it through s3rc. I then converted to .package using Delphy's tool, and loaded the newly created .packages into s3pe as per the instructions in this thread.  That all went fine up until I got the "Manual Manage of XML Files Required Message."  However, instead of it detecting the 0x73E93EEB files, it's detecting a bunch of files marked 0x0166038C.  Currently, s3pe has those files marked for deletion.  Can someone please tell me if this is ok or normal?  I'm still pretty new to learning what all these different file types mean.  Undecided

EDIT:  I went ahead and let s3pe create the file.  It saved in .package format and I plopped it in my "Packages" folder.  The game loaded up just fine, but the items were not there.  I am stumped.  I am also probably missing something really basic that I'm going to slap myself for once someone points it out to me...
Did you follow Anach's directions in Step 6 of his tutorial?  (See below)

"6. After the import was complete, I deleted all the type "0x73E93EEB" _xml files with a instance of "0x0000000000000000" , as these manifest files don't seem to be required by the game, but will be a main source of conflicts (possible left overs from extracting .package from .sims3pack)"

I think that's important.  I did the Fancy Fashions set and it is showing up in game.  However, previously I did some others that are not showing up and I believe this is why.  I will have to go back into those packages and check.  But, try re-importing the package to s3pe to check.
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Cannot delete business cert from inventory on: 2010 January 11, 04:40:01
I was talking about Inge's business certificates.  Unfortunately, I don't know how you can get rid of items once they are stuck if the "nuke" option does not work.
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Cannot delete business cert from inventory on: 2010 January 11, 04:30:36
Can you sell them?  When I've moved a family, I've begun selling the certificates prior to the move, since I know they won't be worth anything afterward.
11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: How to install The Sims 3 and its expansion in D drive? on: 2010 January 11, 04:28:38
World Adventures should probably just be a sub-folder under D:\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3, i.e. full path would be D:\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\World Adventures.  I don't know if you can just create that file under your base game directory and then cut and paste all the files and folders in what is now D:\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 World Adventures into the new sub-folder, or if you will have to uninstall and reinstall the expansion pack, specifying a custom install and telling the installer to use that path.
12  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Pregnant sim had 6 baby boys, and was still pregnant when she got home on: 2010 January 11, 04:11:20
As far as I know, it should have been fixed as of Jan. 8th when I posted.  However, I don't know if it would have affected pregnancies which existed prior to that date or not.
13  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 January 09, 21:13:06
Yes, AwesomeMod is compatible with World Adventures.  Go back to your original thread and read my post to you there.
14  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 January 09, 11:35:53
After giving up on the Sims 3 the past couple of months, I've decided to start up the game again. After patching the base game to 1.8, I got a copy of WA, installed it, and patched it to 2.3. After all this was done I started up the game and everything worked fine. However it seems that every time I placed Awesomemod into the packages folder the game would be stuck on the loading screen. After I tried it a couple more times it seems that I can not have CC installed at all. If the packages folder is empty the game can start up, but if it contains CC the game is stuck on the loading screen.

I've read through a couple of threads about 2.3 and CC, but I'm not sure if it is because of the patch or my own stupidity that I'm having these problems.
Sounds like framework fail.  You will need to read the instructional thread in this section on "How To Install The Framework & AwesomeMod".  It's stickied and right near the thread for the mod itself.
15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.8/2.3 plus Create a World Released on: 2010 January 09, 10:32:42
@ elliebanne:  I did not create this method, so not sure what you're thanking me for.  I wrote the instructional post on "How to Install The Framework & AwesomeMod", and try to assist where I can.  However, it's great that you took the time to summarize the instructions in one place for people!
16  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Pregnant sim had 6 baby boys, and was still pregnant when she got home on: 2010 January 08, 20:37:29
There was apparently a "loopy birth bug" happening, but it should be fixed now.  Download a new copy of AwesomeMod and make sure to clear your caches.
17  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.8/2.3 plus Create a World Released on: 2010 January 08, 07:42:55
Well, I was really hoping that removing the mods/files folder was gonna do it.  Unfortunately, it did not.  I think I'm going to throw in the towel on this one.  I converted my arred sims3pack files (the ones I really wanted) to .package with Delphy's tool and they show up in the game just fine.  I don't notice a lag of any kind, so I think I'm just gonna do it this way.

Coconnor, I want to give you a huge thank you for all of your help and patience with me.  I feel horrible that you had we had to keep going back and forth like we did.  You are truly awesome and I wish there was something I could do to repay you for your time spent on my problem.

Perhaps you'd like to poke me with a stick?
Nope!  Don't want to poke you with a stick because you're not an idiot.  You are spelling correctly and using punctuation.  Wish we knew what is wrong with your set-up, though!  Thanks for the compliment, but I'm really not that awesome.
18  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.8/2.3 plus Create a World Released on: 2010 January 08, 06:21:53
My mods are in the WA folder, so that's where I have the edited Resource.cfg file.  Just to be clear I have 2 edited Resource.cfg files (I'm pretty sure that's what I read in this forum, but I may have been mistaken).  One is in the WA folder and the other is in WA/Mods/Files folder.
No, you should only have one edited Resource.cfg file and it should not be in the Mods/Files folder.  In fact, the "Files" folder should not be there either, so delete it.  It was something Pescado had for an earlier process and had not taken out of the framework until recently, I believe.  You should have Mods>Packages and then whatever sub-folders you have created (within the limitations of the resource.cfg) for organizational purposes.  You do not need the "File" folder, and should not have the extra resource.cfg.  Just the one in the World Adventures directory.  Try that.
19  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.8/2.3 plus Create a World Released on: 2010 January 08, 05:41:45
What Resource.cfg did you have in your TS3 folder?  Was it the one you created and posted the content of?  Or did you edit the one in the TS3>Game>Bin folder?  You need the resource.cfg file created by the game in that folder, and the content should read as I posted in my last post.  If you edited that one (in Game>Bin) and subsequently deleted it, you will need to recreate it.

Where are your mods now?  In WA?  If so, the Resource.cfg, which you downloaded with the framework (or via Delphy's Installer Monkey) was supposed to be edited to read as you have it, i.e.:

Priority 500
   DirectoryFiles Mods/Packages/... autoupdate
   PackedFile Mods/Packages/*.package
   PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*.package
   PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*/*.package
   PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*/*/*.package
   PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*/*/*/*.package
   PackedFile Mods/Packages/*.dbc
   PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*.dbc

must also be in the WA directory, but not within the Mods>Packages folder.  Make sure you moved the Resource.cfg with the Mods>Packages folder.  If that does not work, I'm not sure what you're doing wrong.

Is your launcher working?  Had you deleted your downloads before reinstalling & patching?  Or did you just move them?  When presented with the option to retain your custom content and saved games, did you save it or did you wipe it all out?  I did not delete them, but backed them up to the desktop just in case and opted to save them.  I think that's why mine is working. You could try reinstalling the content that is not working via the launcher.  Mine works if I use the TS3 base game icon to start the launcher.  The WA one does not work well. I have not converted any Sims3packs to package, but I have not had to.
20  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.8/2.3 plus Create a World Released on: 2010 January 08, 02:19:30
Ack, I mistyped (mis-typed?)!  I do have it in both folders.
Try placing the Resource.cfg file into only the Mods>Packages folder in the directory where you actually have the package files.  For instance, my Mods>Packages (framework files) which contain the actual package files (and the .dbc files) are in my World Adventures directory.  But remember, if you read my "How To Install The Framework & AwesomeMod" stickied thread, that the Resource.cfg file should only be placed within the applicable directory and not within the actual Mods>Packages folders.

I do not have a Resource.cfg file in myTS3 directory, except the one in the Game>Bin folder (which should not be edited).  Mine in that location reads (in the event you need to copy & paste it back into yours):

Priority -29
PackedFile UI/UI.package
PackedFile Automation/AutomationData.package
PackedFile Jazz/JazzData.package
FileType 0xf0ff5598 triggers
FileType 0x0333406c xml
FileType 0x1a3201cd mod
FileType 0x025c95b6 layout
FileType 0x025c90a6 css
FileType 0x062e9ee0 ttf
FileType 0x062e9ee0 otf
FileType 0x062e9ee0 ttc
FileType 0x03b33ddf mod
FileType 0x0604abda dreamtree

Do not edit the resource.cfg files that the game creates unless specifically instructed to do so by someone like Pescado.  The one you edited appears to be correct and should (again) be only in the directory which contains the framework files that actually contain the package files.

Also, as a point of interest, all my content is installed and working, but before I reinstalled and patched, I had removed my Downloads folder to my desktop and simply replaced all the files afterward into the Downloads folder created in the new install.  Everything is there and everything shows up in game.  The only problem I've had is that new store items (such as the Santa hats) do not install with the launcher.  Third party Sims3packs install just fine with the launcher.
21  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.8/2.3 plus Create a World Released on: 2010 January 08, 01:09:42
First obvious thing I see that's wrong is that you need the d3dx9_31.dll file in both directories, i.e. TS3 Game>Bin folder and in the WA Game>Bin folder.  Try that and see if it works.
22  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Upgrading will make launcher work? on: 2010 January 07, 19:26:13
That particular update allows you to use Create A World. Unfortunately it also add the bloody stupid "store mode" to your game which allows you to shop at the Sims 3 Store while you're playing your game.
You can disable this in the options panels. I have, because I found the button gets in the way and it is easy to accidently press it.  Disabling it removes the button from the UI.
23  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: EA store stuff in *.dbc format - a torrent on: 2010 January 07, 11:15:20
I believe you do need the .dbc files in both locations.  As verification, you can also go check the instructions for installing these .dbc files (written by Witch, and attached to the first post in this thread).  I've been fortunate, in that I've not really had to deal with disappearance of custom content since the patch.
24  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: EA store stuff in *.dbc format - a torrent on: 2010 January 06, 09:53:41
Do you have Awesomemod?
Does AM display screens of commands when you type showconfig?
Did you put all the .dbc files in two separate places?
Did you put the resource.cfg file in the right place?
Try clearing your caches.
Check you haven't got custom content turned off in the launcher.
Yes
Also Yes
Nope, just the DCCache folder
Yes, its in the correct location.
Elaborate on this?
Nope, and while I was there I saw under Installed Content a bunch of content including that Castle kit, so the .dbc files must have worked.
If you go to the first post in this thread, Witch has attached an file with instructions at the bottom of her post, which clearly states that the .dbc files must be in two places.  Check that.   It's most likely why things are not showing up.
25  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: EA store stuff in *.dbc format - a torrent on: 2010 January 06, 09:38:43
My understanding is that third party sims3packs are not working either. From what I've read on MATY, it appears that only the purchased store content is installable. Please correct me if I'm wrong, anyone.
My third party Sims3packs are working, as is the store content I had previously installed.  I've been using the base game launcher to install things, and for the most part, it's been working.  Just cannot install new store content (acquired after the patches).  For good measure, I did the original work-around and placed a copy of my DCCache files into Mods>Packages (modifying the resource.cfg to read .dbc files), since I still had my own content available to work with.
